Here you will be able to see the opinions of real people who used the services and products of Pirtle Winery (Winery) near Kansas.
At the moment this firm has a score of 4.6 stars out of 5 and that rating has been calculated on 144 reviews.
As you can see its rating is almost the highest, and it's based on a large number of feddbacks, so we may be quite sure that the assessment is quite faithful. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well with the business, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to set opinions when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Winery corresponds to the category of Winery.
We had a surprise birthday party and this place was wonderful. Joe as our bartender, did a wonderful job with our group. I would definitely recommend reserving their event space.
Doesn't get much better than Pirtle Winery on a sunny 74 degree day in Weston Missouri. The staff is always helpful and patient helping people take out their favorite wine for the afternoon work for the week. Have a bottle there. Take a bottle to go. The little food trays you can get are pretty cheap for how much food you get and worth every penny. Highly recommend stopping their next time you are in Weston Missouri. Shops are just a couple blocks away. What a Charming little Village! Thank you for the winery. We love coming here every year!
Horrible experience. Was with the Barley Wine tour. They told us the wine tasting was twice as expensive because we were with a group of 7 or more. Won’t go back
I love the slushies and the employees are so helpful
I've been to Pirtle a handful of times, and it gets better and better each time. They've recently added a beautiful deck for more seating. (The "wine garden" can get full). Grab a wine slushee, a picnic basket and you have a perfect summer afternoon.
very friendly atmosphere! the owner and his wife are there to greet you at the door and even pour your wine and answer any questions you my have. they have very good wines and mead, they let me and my wife taste wines for free to help us decide if we wanted to buy any or not,...needless to say, after the tasting we were very satisfied and bought a bottle of blueberry mead and a bottle of mellow red. amazing place! will def. return soon!! 5 stars
Was not very kind or gracious.
Great mead and a beautiful facility.
Do yourself a favor and stop here! Great wines and the staff is fantastic!
The blackberry mead is superb and all the staff were very friendly!
They make great wine
Must try BlackBerry Mead love it
Terrible service! I felt rushed and had a lack of explanation for the tasting. The woman did not give any pleasantries and seemed uninterested in our business there. Will not be recommending or returning.
Great place to have a glass of wine, some bread and cheese and relax in the Arbor
Some I'd the best wines you will find!
The wine was great, and Joe who helped us out was awesome as well.
Beautiful place
Always gracious hosts in a beautiful, relaxing environment.
Nice place. Big surprise in a small town!
It's a nice building from the outside, but we didn't get a chance to sample their wines, as they are supposed to open at 10 am, we waited until 10:30 then left.
I've never been to the location but I gotta let y'all know, their blackberry mead is on point! ♥️
Good customer service and excellent wine.
Good wine slushy
Great Wine and Mead. Very friendly and knowledgable staff.
Stopped by on our Weston day. Great free wine tasting. We left with a case. Fantastic customer service.
After visiting several wineries in Weston, we (my girlfriend and I) agreed that Pirtle was easily or favorite. The location in the old church was beautiful, as was the outdoor garden area. Kimberly guided us through a wine tasting and was very knowledgeable and nice. Her hospitality is actually what spurred me to write this review (I rarely leave reviews). Finally, the wine was fantastic! My favorite was the premium port. Overall, Pirtle Winery lived up to the hype and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Weston.
Absolutely adore this winery located in an old church. You are able to try samples of all of their wines, and the staff is extremely knowledgeable. There is a little outdoor area when it’s nice or tables downstairs that you can sit and enjoy a bottle with friends. Last time we were there we ordered a meat and cheese basket and it was PHENOMENAL. I highly recommend taking a day trip to Weston to try this place!
Great first-time experience! Amy was very welcoming, informative, and friendly. Large selection of wines and nice atmosphere. We will definitely be returning.
Good wine. Nice deck with mellow live music.
Excellent wine!
I don't like wine, buy I love the Mellow Red and Blueberry wine from Pirtle! So, I guess I can't say that I don't like wine anymore! Pair that with a basket of bread and cheese (which they sell), head down to the lower level of the old church building with some friends, and enjoy a couple hours of drinking, snacking, and fun conversation!
Great wine, fun atmosphere!
Great place to visit. Owner very knowledgeable
Free wine tasting, friendly staff, and great outdoor seating. Along with Weston Brew Co., this makes for a fantastic spot to spend a Saturday afternoon. Grab a bottle and small basket of cheese and sausage, and then travel to the near by state park for a hike.
This was a very nice experience. The wine tasting was free and the woman serving us the wine really knew her wines! We even got some crackers and chocolate to eat with the wines. Bought 2 very nice 750 liter bottles at quite a reasonable price! I highly recommend this winery for tastings!
Great choice of wines. Friendly, knowledgeable staff.
Love it!
Several sweet wines, but also 3 nice full bodied reds.
Great tasting wines, wonderful service and staff, super cute atmosphere and the bread, cheese and sausage basket was amazing!
Wine tasting was fine and the person serving the wine was very knowledgeable and asked questions so that she could help us in choosing wines that we would like.
We had an excellent time at our tasting. We were able to try several varieties and the wine slushie du jour. Pirtle has something for everyone (dry, sweet, semi-sweet, port, meads); you will not be disappointed with their selection or prices. We have tried other MO wineries, they were not even close to Pirtle. Kim was a fabulous hostess and I highly recommend her!
Scott Pirtle has done an amazing job of producing first-class wines in an area where the growing climate is suboptimal. Don't miss the Weston Bend Red. Very very nice.
Excellent wine, excellent service. Don't miss this one! Thanks for the excellent company today Kim! See you when my case is gone.
Awesome visit today with Heather, great wine tasting and wine knowledge!
Enjoyed the free wine tasting. Loved the BlackBerry the best. Also loved the slushy drink.
My husband and I loved our wine tasting a few years ago. The historic architecture of the old church will amaze you. Stop by for a charming experience and to taste some of the best wine and mead in the area.
I would recommend Pirtle to anyone looking for great wine and fantastic ambiance. The staff is very friendly and know their stuff! The free wine tasting before you buy is an added bonus.
Loved this place, an old church turned winery.
Good selection of wines, good prices too. They were very generous with wine tasting on our visit and let us sample pretty much anything on the menu. We will definitely come back the next time we are in Weston. Be aware though, you do have to make it up a flight of stairs to reach the entrance. Someone with mobility problems could have some trouble.
Love their wine!! You have to try the Mellow Red wine and their Rose!
Great wines and atmosphere!!! Love the new deck and Jody was so friendly and helpful!!!
Great place to spend a Saturday afternoon
If you’re in KC you have to take time to come to Weston. I was pleasantly surprised by this winery and I love the wine selection they have available. They give $5.00 tastings, the environment and ambiance is great. They have dry and sweet wines. Grab yourself one of their wine slushies and sit outside, they've got a newly remodeled deck. Update: Made another visit today, had the pleasure of meeting the owner. Nice guy, super passionate and knowledgeable about his wines and the history of the Pirtle location. I really enjoyed their Vignoles and their new version of the Honey Mead they carry. They have also ventured out into canned wine with their Rose and their signature red wine, which if you're from the KCMO area, you'll appreciate because you can recycle with your cans instead of carry your bottles to be recycled at the local recycling area. Overall, I recommend this winery as a must visit when visiting Weston.
Great atmosphere and service! Unique experience!
Went there for the first time yesterday and had a WONDERFUL experience! The Blueberry and Apple wine are delicious and the patio is a perfect place to be on a beautiful day :) I will be back soon to enjoy some more!
Really enjoyed the wines we tried and the nice patio with a 2 man band Saturday night. Gal who helped us with our tasting wasn't very friendly or welcoming, but she was knowledgeable and helpful.
My favorite winery!
The wine and mead were delicious and the staff were helpful while trying wine and mead samples.
One of the better wineries in the area. Their Norton is the best option the list. If you're not a fan of Midwest wines be wary of all the fruity ones, which are cloyingly sweet.
Mead is delish ~
Wine tasting was fun and very informative! Slushy was delicious!
Lots of wineries in Weston area, this one was my favorite. Really neat space too.
Great wine and nice people
What a wonderful day!! Thank you Jody!!
The wine was good. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and the three people working there were overwhelmed with the number of visitors coming in for a tasting. Good product though.
Enjoyed the corks and canvas night last night.
Located in an old, rustic church. The fruit wines are sweet and go well with the cheese tray.
She is so sweet, I really enjoyed the tasting. Thank you for making my mom's 60th birthday so special.
As a fan of dry wines, I was pleasantly surprised when I left my Pirtle Winery tasting with a bottle of cherry chocolate wine and a bottle of blueberry wine. Several of the wines I tried had me step outside of my comfort zone, and I am so glad I did! I tried my first effervescent mead, as well as the first port I've ever genuinely enjoyed. I highly recommend Pirtle to both wine connoisseurs and casual wine drinkers. There is truly something for everybody here! ASK FOR MARY!!! She was a wonderful guide to all things Pirtle Winery, and she made our entire experience fun and unique.
My wife and I were in KC for a wedding. It was also our 15th anniversary. We drove up and had a great experience. Joe helped us in our tasting and he was very knowledgeable and excellent to deal with. We sat in the garden area and enjoyed a bottle. We also bought a few to take home. What a great find!
An outstanding experience that we stumbled upon by accident! We meandered up a long staircase into the renovated church just to see what was happening. Ruth called us over to a free tasting; we were hesitant because we don't know anything about wine, but she was friendly and persuasive so we gave it a try. Delicious samples! Ruth was very knowledgeable and did a great job dividing her attention between us and another couple. The atmosphere was lovely, the space light and open. Only downside is descending all those stairs after drinking a bunch of wine.
Nice selection of wine and mead
This place is simply serene. Everytime my wife and I go in the staff are courteous and friendly. Many of the wines are amazing. They have a Blackberry Mead that's my favorite. We usually do a tasting, pick a bottle of wine and then get one of their picnic baskets to eat under the trellis. Definitely my favorite winery and my wife has dragged me to probably 25 or more.
Great variety nod wines. The Norton is especially good.
Great place to visit, good local wines to boot
Jolee was so friendly and knew what she was talking about! Great experience!
This is definitely a stop you must make while in Weston, but I have visited nicer wineries with better offerings. The staff was friendly, informative, and accommodating. I would definitely go back if I find myself in Weston.
Amazing wine and service!!!! The blueberry wine was great for a summer wine and Kimberly A who did our tasting was so helpful and sweet!!!! The only negative was how hot it was on the top floor. It made it a little hard to stay very long upstairs.
Sadly, charges for wine tastings as of summer 19. No more enjoying a tasting, buying a picnic basket and enjoying the patio.
Incredibly friendly staff. Very explicative of the wines available for tasting, including the process. Cool building; old church from the late 1800s, renovated inside but still very neat.
Will not be returning. Upon arrival, we were told we needed a reservation but they would make an exception for us. Then we were told it would be $10 for a tasting. Jaws hit the floor. Non of us like dry or semi sweet wines so when we questioned if we could only taste sweet we were told it would still be $10. The assistant manager Joe stated this had been policy for over 10 years which is not correct. We take 1-2 trips there per year and have been for years and have never, ever paid for a tasting. We don't mind paying but $10 seems a little over the top for a few sweet wines. We all decided to share two bottles that we had not tasted. Went downstairs and shared our bottles. Joe then proceeded to come down and show us their policy. We never asked to see it which struck all of us as being very off putting and rude. Who's to say that policy wasn't written two weeks ago? Terrible experience and we are thankful there are plenty of other great wineries around.
Great staff. Fun place. Great selection
Amazing wine! Great ownership. Perfect meeting/event location.
My absolute favorite! I grew up off the vine, literally. Effervescent Rose! Everyday, All day!
Saturday afternoon slushy made with Mellow Red
" free " wine tasting in an older historical church building in Weston Missouri quaint atmosphere, not handicapp accessible
Wonderful wines! A broad selection of dry to sweet. Highly recommend this winery. A great place to spend an afternoon sharing a bottle of wine and a picnic basket made by the staff.
Very cordial ... Choices and suggestions made in abundance without even asking ... Walked away with more purchases than expected ... Highly recommend !
The only Missouri wines worth drinking are tasted and sold here. Loved it! Will go back.
My husband and I started coming here about a year and a half ago, and have been I believe 7 times, respectively in that timeframe. Every time we go, we do a tasting (because it's a winery) and because we truly enjoy the flexibility of trying wines before we have a bottle. Additionally, every time we purchase a bottle of wine there and at least one to take home with us. It's fair to say that we've spent at least a few hundred dollars here in the past 18 months. Several times a woman named Trista has helped us, who is delightful. Today a lady named Donna assisted us and she was pleasant and warm. Coming here is always a little get away for us because we can get here quickly and with our busy lives, it is a welcome get away. Today, a punk brat (Joe) decided to walk by us while we were selecting our wine for the day and he decided to walk by and say "you guys should know what they taste like by now". My heart sunk and I was embarrassed. Yes, we still bought a couple bottles because it's the right thing to do and something we always do. But this pompous little thug tried to make us feel like we were here for a free buzz. So, unfortunately the party is over for us and Pirtle and unfortunately for Weston, as Pirtle was the reason we drove up here. We are mortified by the way he made us feel and it will be a very long time before we come back. So, I guess the goal was accomplished for you today. We are finished visiting Pirtle and Weston for the moment. Your reviews are obviously wonderful so you don't have to worry about ours. Your venue is charming, your wine is ok for Missouri wine but unfortunately today you made customers feel like complete gutter trash, and for that we are done.
The most perfect place to enjoy a glass (or 5) of wine and a picnic under the vine-covered terrace.
The representatives are very knowledgeable for pairing to food & your personable tastes.
We stopped in here on eclipse day, and they were very welcoming. I tasted the effervescent apple, traminette, and blackberry mead...they were all good, but I stuck with the mead for a glass. The balcony is nice and roomy, and the garden is pretty. The bathrooms are big and clean, but the curtains for stall doors make me nervous. :)
See Scott. Fantastic place
A really excellent selection of Mead and wines. They are both sweet and dry wines available on the list. They will do up to five tastings for free which is really nice!
Wines, fruit wines, meads...something for everyone.
Positive - the wines are tasty. We bought a bottle of the Raspberry Mead and enjoyed it on the patio surrounded by greenery. The lady helping us, it was her first day, her energy and enthusiasm definitely showed. Negative- The tasting was STINGY. I would rather pay for a tasting and get to actually taste the wine instead of getting it for free and getting a thimble full of wine. The owner was obviously keeping a hawk eye on the one pouring because he came over and the ONE time she poured more than a tablespoon he was repremanding her in front of us. My boyfriend wanted to walk out right then, however we had driven an hour to get there and the wine, as much as we could tell with a tablespoon worth, was good. We will likely return, hopefully they get their wine tasting sorted out.
Awesome winery - wonderful staff and delicious wine!
I live 7 hours away but make it a point to visit Weston once a year, at least, just to go to Pirtle. They have great wines, for sure, but the best thing to do is buy a bottle and a picnic basket and sit in their lovely garden. It is always quiet and peaceful. If you're anywhere in the Kansas City area, make the trip.
Great service and some good wines. A lot of people like the Mead.
Great wines and place to visit. Highly recommend.
Such an amazing place.
Very friendly and helpful staff, he even gave us a discount for our anniversary. Their wines were great and I really enjoyed the raspberry wine slushy!
Love this place - great wines with unique selection including fruit wines and meade. Staff was very friendly and helpful, tastings are free and there isn't really a limit to the number of samples. The winery is a convertes old Lutheran church which is just cool. Now they have added outdoor seating so just another thing going for them. A must visit especially if you find yourself in Weston.
