First time here in over two years. New management. Same great scenery. Same bad food. Nice place to hear music and have a drink. We arrived and was told about a half hour wait. No problem, except for there were numerous empty tables. They had plenty of empty tables along the pond that could be used, but they weren’t. It’s as if they weren’t ready for the most beautiful day of Pre-Summer so far.... We may try again, but will pass on the food.

In the St. Louis Metro East area, there are about a dozen wineries. This one is by far the best I have been to. And even in WINE country, this winery can hold up to that. Most of them don't have a restaurant. This does and it is very good. First, you are impressed with the outdoors covered DOUBLE DECKER dock that over looks the mature lake, water fountain, and ducks. If the ambiance of the winery does not impress you, the music on the weekends will. There are musicians LINED up to be here. When you eat from their varied and very delicious and reasonable menu, you can enjoy a full bar and outdoor service as well as indoor service. Food, music, friends and ambiance....what more can you ask for. Well, there is one more thing: EXCELLENT PRICES. Stop by and get a great experience and bottle of wine. You will enjoy your day, the life and living in the country in Pocahontas. I strongly recommend you consider looking into a wedding/reception, party or festive gathering in their hall. Look for the copper grape sculpture just off the "Pokey Road" going north toward IL Rt 140 from Eastbound Interstate 70, exit 36 (Pocahontas). It truly will impress you and your friends. I have been there three times in one month. It is a huge success.

We stopped here on our way to St. Louis. We had heard good things about it. The staff was the rudest. I am just gonna say, if you don't like the service industry this time of the year....KEEP YOUR ASS AT HOME. I was here to spend the afternoon, but after the service and the rudeness.....i will not be patronizing your establishment again. As the lady told me behind the bar as we were patiently waiting because they were busy, she said.....YOU WILL JUST HAVE TO WAIT......in a hateful tone. We had already ordered our food and we were with friends, had we been by ourselves, I would have left at that point. Your customers are here to spend their money and patronize your business, I am sorry that you would have rather been doing something else as you also told us. I WILL NOT BE BACK

Wonderful atmosphere, great wine, good food and excellent service from J.P. (John)! This was our first visit but it won't be our last now that we know what a great place it is! J.P. was most attentive to our needs. He didn't hover and make us uncomfortable but instead checked in with us on a regular basis to make sure we were doing okay. Couldn't have asked for better service. The setting was beautiful and the singer was super good! We hadn't known we'd be entertained with live music so that was an added bonus. He sang all the favorite tunes and had a great voice!

Reserved the Upper Dock area for a party and the service was great. Our orders came fast and very food was good! We had pre-ordered the large size appetizers that we're offered. They were set up and displayed nicely for our guests.

RUDE owners. Complianed to us about previous weddings. Told us that our decorations would be ugly. Told our guests at the reception that they were taking too much food! After our cake cutting, the owner said "we dont do cakes." when I asked for plates to serve our guests. she supplied us paper napkins to serve our cake. The bartender was told 3-4 times what was included in the open bar (by our wedding planner, our parents, and ourselves) and still tried to charge our guests! We were only attentive about this because a previous bride told us that her entire reception paid for drinks that she already paid for! The bartender should have been informed by the owners! We think he was just trying to pocket the cash for himself. The owners repeatively told us to "calm down" when we were worried about the ceremony and reception. when all we were doing is asking simple questions. (ex: Is there a sound system at the pavilion? (for our minister to utilize during the ceremony)). Then you wouldnt get an answer for 2-3 weeks and feel bad for calling back! The owners brought up our contract when we noticed they had paper napkins on the tables. 2 weeks before our wedding they said we could have cloth napkins and they said yes. The day before our wedding, they said "we dont do cloth napkins anymore. No one likes them and the table linens promised in the contract only include the table cloths. napkins arent in the contract." this is only an example, they promised many things and failed to follow through. It was literally a miracle that our wedding was a success. Only because the extraordinary effort from our wedding planner and decorator as well as our friends and family. They were so rude that 6 months before the wedding we considered changing our venue, they were lucky they had our money already.. review from my wife: THEY SHOULD BE EMBARRASSED ABOUT HOW THEY TREATED US! They have a beautiful location for a wedding, but the staff are some of the rudest people we have EVER encountered. I would advise brides that if you want to have a wedding here be prepared for the most frustrating experience of your life! Of the owners, deal with Steve as much as possible because he was always friendly and helpful...Chris on the other hand was rude, condescending, and just plain horrible to us AND our wedding guests. Unfortunately she is the contact person for weddings. Some of our encounters included: her referring to me as "Princess", telling me I should change my wedding colors, making rude comments about other people's weddings being ugly or over-done, telling us we could do or have something and then changing her mind 2 days before the wedding, or acting like we never discussed something (because she never wrote anything down). She was extremely rude to my decorator, making her wait for 3 hours so she could drive over there to "approve" the materials she was using. At the wedding she told my guests they were taking too much food! and the staff tried to take people's drinks away while they were still sitting at the table. WATCH OUT FOR THE BARTENDERS ALSO...ten minutes after being told that wine was included in the open bar, our bartender charged several guests for wine! When two friends of min told him that they knew wine was included he argued with them telling them they had to pay...he did not back down until they said they were going to find my wedding planner and then he said, "Oh, I think you are right." When my mother went over to him he acted like he knew nothing about wine being included! I'm not sure if he is an idiot or if he was trying to steal money from my guests. It is really sad that our wedding is marred by these terrible experiences :(

This is our first visit to this winery. While talking to our server, we learned that it is under new ownership and just opened two weeks ago. The service was amazing and our server was friendly. The wines were delicious and our food was out very quickly. We loves sitting right on the lake, feeding the fish and watching the swans. We will definitely be back despite it being over an hour from us.

We came for Mother’s Day and while I can expect it to be busy, we were here for three hours (ordered after 30 minutes) and were never served our food. While the wine was good and the server was nice, we were initially told that they were overwhelmed and they were sorry for the wait, but we would be some of the last people to get our food, as they were closing down their kitchen. Then, out of nowhere, and about an hour later, we were told that we were not getting our food. I repeat, after sitting here for hours, we were told that we were not, in fact, getting our food. And we had bought another bottle of wine while waiting. So, in short, only come here if you plan on drinking. Again, I understand it being busy, but to not be served at all after being allowed to order and sitting there for hours after ordering is ridiculous.

Hey everybody let's all take another look at copper dock. They now have new owners and hopefully they will get it. We are crossing our fingers it will live up to the Winery name. Let's give them a chance to prove themselves and stop with the negativity. The old owners are gone!

We had our wedding and reception here. Excellent service and attentive staff especially Linda. The room was large enough for 250+ guests. I would recommend thi's venue highly. The food was great..the setting beautiful and serene.

Went here for a wedding. Beautiful lake with swans on the shore. We really enjoyed our time there and will go back for a wine tasting soon

It was very pleasant to go and sit on their dock and watch the swans. But in order to get a glass of wine we had to go find one. Things got even worse when we tried to order food. The service was awful! Go there to enjoy the view, but go somewhere else to actually be served.

Should be, could be 5 stars out of 5. I really enjoyed my time, wine, and dinner at Copper Dock. There is a lot right with this place and a few things still needing a tweak. Sitting outside, listening to live music, sipping an amazing Smith and Hook Cabernet Sauvignon, many things can be over looked. But, it can be better. When in full stride I expect a true 5 stars. The menu is limited, but focused. This is good, but can still be improved by presentation. As a restaurant emphasizing wine, I would like to see more knowledge from the staff and wine etiquette when recommending, presenting, and serving the wine. I'll definitely be back and hope the experience only gets better.

Waited 15 minutes after being seated by hostess for server to come to table then waited over 45 minutes for food to arrive, service was terrible. However the establishment is nice. Good place for a romantic night out or for an evening with friends

The food is delicious, the scenery is gorgeous, and the service is great - but when I went there with my family, the portion sizes were a bit out of whack. We ordered the barbecue pulled pork nachos, which were great, but gigantic - and then two of my group ordered the Cod basket and got 4 pieces of cod each, which was disappointing for a $9 meal. I ordered a burger as well, medium rare, and it was served well done - I also asked for American cheese but they were out, so I opted for pepperjack instead. I don't feel like the burger was made in house (it looked pre-formed and like it was store bought and frozen), but the bun was delicious. Their homemade chips are very good, but you don't get a lot with your order. The White Sangria is absolutely fantastic. All in all, the food was delicious, but I was disappointed in the portion sizes (especially when comparing the nachos, which are an appetizer, side by side with the cod basket, which is an entree).

We were looking forward to visiting again since the new management has taken over. However, after driving out there today (yes it's a holiday) we were sadly disappointed to find it closed. I just feel if you are in that type of business and knowing 95% of the population is off work they would be open for business. Probably won't go back any time soon.

Easy to find right off the interstate, great Aesthetics, great menu, great staff, great entertainment. I would highly recommend this establishment to all that would ask me about this place. Once you visit the first time, you would go back.

Went on a rainy day so we didn't get the full experience. Wine was great, food was standard. Their salsa is more pico de gallo.. Was frustrating to get served at first because it was way crowded. But the owners are new and my friend had a great convo with one of them. Hoping to try again soon gor a tasting.

Good food and wine at a relaxed pace. I went here to visit family. The beautiful location was worth the drive. Reuben was great with corned beef that was not too fatty. Free wine tasting at the bar helping me decide my wine choice.

I always try to Be understanding but after reading so many other reviews I felt that maybe one more experience could help the need for more staffing and training. I was shocked when I heard my waiter say "I'm not a wine person" at a "winery." The wine tasting was also very confusing and I wondered if instead of quantity the quality of food could be better? Could servers bring out a wine flight? ambiance is beautiful but, I'm struggling with the idea of a "winery." maybe if I had expected a lakeside bar and music my opinion would differ?

Reading thru previous comments i can attest that the service was not very good. Probably lot of high schoolers waiting on us. Had been here before and seating arangments are poor. Never gwt the table we were promised. Talked to manager and she didnt seem to give a ****. Probably last time we are here. Nice venue if you dont mind putting up with the all the excuses.

Horrible service. An extremely rude manager. Cheap wine you could buy at your local gas station. It was great ordering my food and then watching a party of fifteen, that arrived an hour after I ordered, all be served their dishes while I'm still waiting on mine.
