REVIEWS OF City Winery IN Illinois

Ladies Wine & Design Atlanta

We celebrated our Ladies, Wine & Design June Chapter at City Winery in Atlanta. We couldn’t have chosen a better venue to sip on some quality wine and delicious appetizers. Their southern hospitality and welcoming staff was all we could have asked for. Thanks for making our evening special.

Every seat is great, to be honest, the cheapest seats are the best and they're right by the stage!! The food is pricey and average, nothing fancy, but it's decent. The hamburger is the tastiest, order it well doned it'll still be juicy. Atmosphere is lovely for a grown & sexy concert and crowd. I saw Dave Hollister & Dwele there. Bad - very tight for concert, no arm or leg room, kept bumping person next to me. Tables are small in concert area also!

I was just here for a Brian McKnight concert and overall I have to say I was disappointed. Let me just mention that i have been to City Winery several times in the past ( a few years ago) to see some of my favorite indie type R and B artists like Goapele and Amel Larrieux. The seating and the organization to get into the venue was fine. The show started 10 minutes late and although the show was good, I was really surprised that there was not a live band supporting B. McKnight ( this may not have anything to do with the winery experience). Anywho, I was really let down with the menu options, as a remember being able to order flank/ skirt steak and more quality fare. My sis wanted something that was low carb so she ordered the artichoke dip with tortilla chips, as the waiter suggested, not sure why but the chips were terribly greasy. My sister ordered the appetizer shrimp which appeared sauteed, but they were extremely greasy as well, and you only get 6 for 18 bucks, this was a total ripoff. The worst part was the wine. My 2 sisters ordered the red sangria. This was the worst we had ever tasted. The glass was half full and it was full of ice. I mean really, who puts ice in Sangria? It was watered down and seemed to only be 4 oz of sangria in the glass. I sent mines back, and it literally took the waiter almost an hour to bring me a glass of Moscato in exchange. My sisters enjoyed the overall experience but city winery is nothing like it used to be. I used to treat my self to a good experience here. I really hope the management considered the impact of the customer's experience when cutting costs because it has become evident in what they offer patrons.

This review is in regards to the New Year’s Eve party. I attended last years and it was absolutely terrible. We purchased the VIP tickets, which supposedly gets you access to certain bars with the thought being you won’t have to wait as long for drinks. Apparently, there is no limit to how many of these tickets they sale because it was at least a 30 minute wait every time we needed a drink. The food was average but typical of city winery food. They also advertised a champagne toast at midnight. Needless to say the majority of the crowd never got their champagne. Worst of all, the coat check had zero organization so my husband and another individual in our group waited AN HOUR in line outside in the cold to retrieve our jackets. When they finally got to the jackets, everyone was literally just rummaging around coats looking for their items. This event was a complete waste of money and I would not recommend.

The service was disorganized and slow. The acoustics were okay. The tables are right on top of one another.

Caitlin Post

The service was horrible! Went there and was seated at a table and no one came by for 15 minutes so my friend had to approach the hostess you told us we should order at the bar. As we went to the bar the red headed girl server came by and was very rude saying “Do you need help?” And when we attempted to explain the situation she cut us off by saying “well the bar can help you because I have a large party over here.” And proceeded to walk away. Needless to say we won’t be back to this location!!

My first time at City Winery was awesome! The venue is very nice. I bought tickets to see Loose Ends. The show was OUTSTANDING! So much energy and memories as I partied to some of my old school favorites. Thank you, Loose Ends for an awesome time! I ordered the salmon and grits. Very good! My husband ordered the chicken and potatoes. He was pleased. He ordered a shot of Hennessy and was disappointed with the amount. I selected a glass of wine. Expensive on the drinks, but we were there to have a good time. When placing your order, you really can't hear past the loud music. My order was incorrect, initially. However, they tracked down my food. I have tickets to another show so I plan to arrive at the venue sooner. Overall, a truly enjoyable evening!

The staff was courteous from the beginning phone call, to the box office hunting and finding staying for a sold-out performance, to the waitress and valet. My only issue is the wooden chairs. Not good to sit on for the hours with a bad back and butt. Great, mature crowd, good acoustics. A nice surprise would be new, comfortable chairs.

James DJ Acid

Great experience!! My table was to the right of the stage and was 2 feet from the artist!!

Alejandro Carbajal

The location of this restaurant is great! Great service and everything seems to run smoothly. However they drinks are overpriced, not surprised given the location. Also, they do have their homemade Cabernet which is good, a hint of blackberries, low acidity and slightly dry.

CD Mitchell

The music was great and the food was very good. I recommend the place.

Michael Moore

I don’t usually go out on Monday night, but I made an exception for Maysa! Overall, great atmosphere, very similar vibe to B.B. Kings in NYC. Although Maysa was having some issues with her voice, her performance was still amazing! My wife and I ordered the calamari and two glasses of the Pinot Gris. Unfortunately, the calamari was mediocre. Too much breading and way too chewy; the sauce is tasty but it’s on the plate with the calamari on top. Send the sauce separately so you can dip at your discretion and at $16.00 it's not cheap. Half full wine glasses for white wine? Again, not cheap at $9.00 a pop. As a former bartender for many years I started to send the wine back. I decided not to, since this was our first experience at City Winery. All in all, I enjoyed the venue. Menu prices are a bit high so I will make sure to dine and drink elsewhere before my next visit.

Chelse Moore

The ambience is amazingly grown & sexy. The dimly lit presentation of the venue is inviting and reminiscent of a very classy night club venue. The staff is friendly and the food was delectable.

Antionette Walker

Food was horrible. The flat bread was just thrown together and $6 for bowl of mini fries they could of at least been bigger fries and a full bowl. I hope a bigger venue is in the works the seating is just to close and not comfortable at all for live performances.

kenyetta royal

The food was great and so was the server. I ordered the lamb. It was different but fantastic.

Catherine Mackey

Great place, great food. Want to go back and try more of the menu.

Vickie Brown

Very nice venue and an outstanding lineup of entertainment every month!

Richard Tannous

Never been much of a wine guy but the wine here was excellent, full bodied reds without all the bitterness. The food was equally delicious and enjoyable. The performance on the night we went wasn't terribly exciting but thats more on me and my style, others in the crowd seemed to be enjoying.

Rogelio Ruiz

Awesome experience. Stepped in late a few days ago and service was still top-notch. Server recommend us a bottle of wine and the only thing I regret is not coming in earlier. Hope to be back for Musiq Soulchild!

Yvette

Nice venue to see a show. Intimate place and upscale. Food is decent.

Lydia Gomez

Until David Archuleta didn't know about it, for sure going back.

Gregory Cox

Really enjoyable and reasonably priced meal. We did a wine pairing with our dinner that was excellent. I definitely recommend the flank steak.

David Baker

Great experience for a Monday night concert venue. Had Kelly as our server and she was fantastic. They should consider a better way to communicate that you want your server as the cards are difficult to get in & out of the cork.

David Goracio

This is an awesome place to see artists.

sabrina marquis

I had an amazing time at city winery. I came with 3 other people who surprised me with a birthday celebration complete with tickets to a concert. Our server Samantha completely transformed our experience into a gala. Champagne toast, great recommendations for food and impeccable service. I cant say enough about her or the great time I had. Thank you city winery, you guys out classed yourselves and made my 40th birthday memorable.

Charles Pruitt

We went for the Boy Named Banjo show. There’s not a bad seat in the house. Our VIP seating was a high top for two and was very good. Although I would have preferred a regular table. We ate elsewhere (a friend recommended it) be clause the menu is okay and the food is expensive. Our server was good and we really enjoyed the show. They have an exotic selection of wines at all price points.

Teri Gidwitz

Great place to see live music. Reserved seating but the seating is unusual in that few of the seats are 90 degrees to the stage. Still, it is an intimate venue. Great wines and an interesting menu for food.

Nakisha Pinkney

This a a great NON date night spot. It’s a little too intimate for me. You are LITERALLY ontop of one another. The acoustics are great and the wait staff is amazing. If you don’t mind crammed spaces this is the spot for you. Lyfe Jennings performance was excellent, Ryan Campbell was great as well as the headliner. I got the hamburger and sautéed brussel sprouts and way too many lemon drops. I enjoyed the show. I’ll just get there a little earlier to get better seating.

Jordan Gary

I'm a big fan of the original in NYC. I've been the Chicago one multiple times to dine and for charity events. I love the space - very cool atmosphere. A great place to take out of town guests. A lot of the menu is shareable food, so be forewarned. The only downside to this place is the lack of it's wine flights - I really think they are missing out an opportunity. The servers are very knowledgeable of not only the in-house wines but the others the restaurant carries as well. Its a place that is good for a drinks and apps as well as a full dinner. All I have left to do here is actually see a show.

Antonia Asimis

Space is nice and intimate. The concert room has a very good sound. I stop in frequently because they always have intriguing music that is moderately priced. The wine carafe is ok and the service is very good. Love having this place in my neighborhood. Will return again and again.

Paulina F

The way they pack you in like sardines is anything but enjoyable. This is for the close up seating near the stage. I unfortunately was seated next to a person who had no clue on the winery's photography policy and kept yelling at me that I couldn't take photos when you can only with your cell phone. I purchased the ticket because I love Mariza and Fado and thought it was going to be a calm and relaxed setting however this venue is terrible, it's tight the seating for 4 people is more like for 2, takes away from feeling you're in an intimate setting to everyone sitting on top of you hearing them breathe, talk, cough you're forced to make small talk with all the neighbors so everyone is not looking so uncomfortable. Sadly, It was my first and now last trip to CW. I'll await to return to Portugal to see Mariza again.I

Belkis Barrios

Worse venue ever for live music. They squeeze in many more people than can comfortably fit in. During the whole show I was suffocating and bothered by folks way too close to me. I am fine with that if I am going to a show where you’re supposed to stand up, but it’s unacceptable at a sit-down venue. Please eliminate at least 25% of the tables so the experience can be more enjoyable. The show and the table service were great.

David Wagner

It's a great little venue we go there often but this time was tough we were there 2 hours server came by Once

Brandon Keeney

Came for brunch on Sunday and we were one of two tables for one bartender, one hostess, one manager, and two waitresses. It took forever to get an iced tea, 35 minutes for eggs Benedict, and another 20 waiting for a check after we finished eating. We didn’t even see our waitress after she took our order. Place looks cool. Food was just ok, nothing special.

Brett Kirhofer

My man Dustin was great. Fantastic service, and great drinks!

Vedashree Kadam

Great wine collection... Good food nice ambiance. Staff is real polite and helping... Just one problem portion size is little less

Carolyn Riley

We were there for a concert which was amazing. The decor was very rustic yet regal looking. We were very surprised by how small the tables were and the fact that they squeezed so many people in the space. We Constantly heard the staff apologizes to others about the closeness of the tables. We were talking with other concert goers who stated that the would not return just because of the lack of elbow room. We ordered iced tea and the margherita flat bread..we weren't impressed. Upon using the ladies room, you definitely feel like the could have provided bigger restrooms. Overall, it was a nice venue. But for the price of the concert alone, I want a little bit more room.

Ericka Gibson

Awesome venue and performance! I'll DEFINITELY go back!

Kenya J Lawrence

Nice Venue but seating waa too close.

Trish Dunn

Saw Avery Sunshine tonight. Show was amazing. Winery staff did a good job

Kelly Ruthruff

Excellent cheese plate and lunch! We really enjoyed it. They even went off menu to make a grilled cheese for my girl.

Keeseefit B

Here on a Saturday night for a friends birthday dinner (party of 12) half the tables food came in 20 mins and the other half came 30 mins later. Waitress seemed friendly however we had to wait another 20 mins for the bill. Poor menu. Everyone was disappointed and we Won’t be back.

Rob Poppell

Very slow service. Overpriced food. I do enjoy the wine though. I’d recommend coming for a glass and finding food elsewhere.

AbdulRasheed Mannan

Great music venue menu and service can disappoint I'm not a regular so I will hold judgement.

NDS Sum

I had Sunday Brunch here on last Weekend ..and everything was Good, Accept for the potatoes they lacked seasoning and the Chicken Sausage came out cold, but when I tell you the bartender was consistent in making the drinks OH soooo Good that made the experience so much more enjoyable. No reservations are needed it was less than 10 patrons dining in.. I'm sure Sunday Brunch isn't a big hit here. I'll be back for the pancakes for sure they were Delicious.

Vinci Fiandaca

We went with City Winery for our rehearsal dinner not only because it was close to both the hotel and the ceremony venue, but also because we just loved the space. When we first reached out for an initial pricing quote, Emily was very responsive. In fact, she responded to every email within just a few hours (except for weekends which is understandable). We got a tour of the space and loved the layout and the decor. We booked the upstairs space and you can tell they have put a lot of thought into the design because even the littlest details like the wine bottle shaped ceiling lights made a huge difference in the ambiance and setting in the end. We went with a package that offered us unlimited pours of 3 beers and 4 wines, and all of the wine was delicious. And I have to say that the food was amazing! We went with the pork chop and the eggplant parm. My gosh, I have never seen a pork chop that big and juicy. And everyone loved the eggplant parm, it was a different take on the traditional because it was a light and crisp crust that wasn't soggy from too much cheese and sauce. All of our guests were very happy with the food and beverages so everyone had a great time. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. No one had to wait long at all for a refill on drinks. An added bonus was that we were able to plug our laptop into the TVs to play our slideshow at the dinner, and they gave us a mic for the speeches. All in all a great night. City Winery offered us amazing food and drinks and excellent service. I would highly recommend the space to anyone looking for a venue for any type of event.

Cynthia Coleman

Very good wine and tasty food! I'll definitely be back!

Mary Busby

The venue is great, as is the sound. Service sucks, food sucks! Eat before you come.

girlofyadreams XoXo

Rose, was absolutely amazing and was very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this place.

Rachel Stevenson

Love, love, love this place. Never get tired of live music in an intimate setting. My only question is the customer service at times and the food is cool. I actually prefer to eat in the restaurant upstairs and come down to see the show afterwards. It has been a hit or miss with the waiters and waitresses.

Mr Nobody

Great venue to see musicians. Great staff, great food & great wine! Loved the Empty Pockets

Allie Cat

Nice vibes, wine, and music. Gotta pay for parking in a parking garage.

Thomas Jones

Nice ambience and really good food. Space is a little tight. Would definitely choose a different seating arangement.

Michelle Agnew

Wonderful venue with good food and wine. The theater is too intimate meaning tight. I return because they have fabulous entertainment and friendly staff.

Abigail Smith

I've been here for several events and it is always so much fun. Good wine and amazing food. This place is huge too!

Ed Chubin

Really cool venue with nice size stage and large main room. Usually has to quality talent booked.

Taylor McAdams

Great date night spot - my husband & I enjoyed the live music & atmosphere. Food & service was good for the most part. We will be back.

Ryan Arnold

Love every bit about City Winery! An incredible room in which to see live music, top-notch service, and an excellent dinner menu. Glad to be a frequent guest!

Trinie Jimenez

THE WORST SERVICE EVER! My bff and I got our food 10 min before the show ended. Waited an HR and a half for our food! Never got checked on to see if we needed refills on drinks only to get slammed with an over priced check! I get better service at white Castle! Never coming here again.

Matthew Rycyk

Wine sampler is pretty cool. Good food and staff is attentive. Parking is a pain, but overall great experience.

Katherine Knosher

Absolutely fabulous experience! I have been a couple times, but only ever eaten upstairs. This past week I went to a comedy show and before my friend and I decided to hit up the tasting room, where Taylor, was such a knowledgeable sommelier and went above and beyond in answering any questions we had! 12/10 I'll be back!!

Charlene Leggett

My husband and I arrived at our table about 6:25pm for Angie Stone show. Our waitress Jasmine cane to our table about 15 mins later took our drink order disappeared until about 6:48pm. Another waitress took our order as write this review it is now 8:07pm & we still have not received our order. However, Sarah did bring us water after we asked thank you Sarah. It's been over 1.5 hr for Salmon croquettes. The time is. Now 8:15pm I have not enjoyed the show due to poor waitress customer service Jasmine. I am not the type if person that complains but this is so unprofessional.

Karen Rakestraw

Always a good time. Classy. Staff does not disturb you during the show.

Marsha Shakur

Awesome venue with EXCELLENT acoustics in an intimate atmosphere. Very close tables, but not uncomfortable. We dined during the show and the food was amazing as well. Very well organized, friendly staff and great service in general. Will definitely be returning. *Bonus we didn’t even have to pay to park or walk very far!! Unheard of.

Sean Campbell

Saw a wonderful concert here, service was great and the venue was intimate with great acoustics.

angela headen

I had a great experience. The performance was Awesome.

Jo Ann Wright

Here to see Kim Waters. Great music!!!

Eugene Roberts

Had a great time with the Misses. Monica and P.J . Morton. The food selection was pricy . Ryan Cam'ron hosted. overall had a good time.

Douglas Satcher

Dinner and entertainment was great! Salmon was well prepared with a unique chocolate drip covering. Shrimp cocktail was cooked and not large or extra large. Not worth $18.00. House Petite Sirah was excellent. Service with David was satisifactory to good. Biggest issue was everything arrived to the table at once.

Jim Manley

Had a really fun time, great comedy show. Wine was great. Food was OK. Server was very nice.

Keenan

First time, they gave us the wrong seats. My original seats were better. Second time, we ordered. Then they came back to let us know that one of our dishes, they were out of. They ran out of the salmon entree and they wouldn't let you substitute the side dishes. They brought the second entree but not the first one. No salt and pepper on the table. You have to ask the waitress and she waited on 3 tables befor she brought it over. I got up and met her half way. Horrible.

Emily W

My visit to CW was for a concert, and of course that was wonderful. It was a bit strange that they ask you to be quiet out of respect to the performers. That should be understood but I don't think most performers think of it rude to clap …

Paul King

They have incredible ambiance. The service is top notch. The concerts are really good. The food is delicious. Fantastic wines. Really great spot for a date, concert, venue, etc. Highly recommend. I saw someone on here say the beer selection is bad. It's a city winery, not a brewery. And yet, the selection isn't that bad. They have only Chicago made beers, just not the same variety as a regular bar.

Erin Miller

What disappointing service. We had made a reservation for 5 PM on Sunday and were one of 4 tables in the entire restaurant. The hostess awkwardly took our orders as she said the staff was busy getting ready for a concert. We saw 7-8 waiters and they did not seem busy at all. 15 minutes later I had to go to the bar and reorder my glass of wine and mom's sweet tea. We then asked a waitress who came over to double check that our food was actually placed. She never came back. 15 minutes later they come back to tell us the one thing we ordered was out of stock. We reiterated we had been there for 30 minutes and at this point were in a time crunch and needed something to be quick and asked for suggestions and to bring whatever was ready out. 5:40 still no sign of a waiter or waitress checking on us, no one offered to get us more drinks and no sign of food. I finally found the manager who was 0 help and I asked her to please go check on our food. She stood there and did not help at all. Finally one nice guy went and found our food but by this point we had to leave as we had tickets to the Fox. I've never walked out and not paid for food but the service was that atrocious and there was absolutely no crowd or reason it should have been. No apologies either.

Shay YDD

I really want to give City Winery a better review but I can not. The shows are great but the menu and food are terrible. Our waiter was AMAZING and we really enjoyed ourselves but I left hungry.

Kevin Nelson

Saw the High Kings there tonight and it was fantastic! Mikey was our server and was AWESOME!! Highly recommend!

Joe Koberg

Went early in the evening for food and wine. Service was inattentive and given the price, I expected more from the food. I enjoyed the hummus, charcuterie and cheese was OK, curry soup was great but arrived less-than-hot (raising food safety questions) and the duck tacos were a disappointment, served un-assembled with unheated packaged corn tortillas - would have been nice for the kitchen to go a bit further. Atmosphere is nice and I'd return to enjoy wine on the patio.

Young OG

First time there it was a great show yesterday but the part that kill me was I saw a young man eating some of my food and he told me he got got good gas me n my girl was looking at him crazy but when we ask him what his name he said quay

J P

While visiting Atlanta, wanted to have a couple glasses of wines after fun time @ Ponce City Market. Got there around 20:15 on Saturday night and place wasn't too busy. We got told around 15-20 minutes for waiting. Didn't get any message after 30 minutes passed. I went up to the front asked about our waiting time, then the front lady started organizing reservations (no shows, cancelled reservations, etc.), which she should have kept up with constantly. We got a table shortly. Then we left the place because no one came by our table for 10 minutes. When we left there were so many people are just waiting and wondering around since no one was helping them out. I am not sure if they are understaffed or don't care much. What I know for sure is the front girl does way too much by herself than she should. If you made a reservation here, you are good to go. If you decide to walk-in like we did, don't go. Atmosphere is good. Food looked good. Wine is little over priced (3 times of MSRP)

Chad L

Service atmosphere and entertainment was great! Wine was ok but the food was aweful! Plan for drinks and entertainment. Have dinner prior somewhere else

Tim Sprandel

Nice Place. Great Cheeses.

MWE School of Ministry Dr. M. D. Woods

Great music venue. Went to see Latrice Bush and she was great. Only ordered cake, it was dry and not a good value at $10.00 for the slice. I will gladly return for the music but will probable eat elsewhere.

Marvette Critney

I've gone to several shows which are always fabulous! However the food is horrible. There are way too many awesome chefs in Atlanta for your food to always be an epic failure. I've tried to be patient with hoping the food would get better... No such luck. I recently went to see Algebra... great show... horrible food. I ordered the Kale salad, which tasted like dirt. Sent it back. I ordered the half chicken and mac & cheese... chicken was overcooked. Mac & cheese taste worse than box mac & cheese and it was runny.. This is the south, it can't be that difficult to work to get a decent menu.... I would highly suggest that you may consider only offering dinner in the main area and having a Tapas menu during the show. It takes way too long for food to arrive, it's cold.... stop complicating stuff. We are already crammed into this venue like sardines... FIRE THE CHEF AND GET A NEW ONE.

Lynette Czarkowski

Awesome place for music and dining. Highly recommend.

Peter Johnson

Live performances are great. Nice setting and drinks. Only con is there's no privacy when your sitting at a table with strangers

L.C. Henderson

Impressive

Toni Holt

Great food and great service! We had the ravioli and pork chops. Both were delicious!

Tim Compton

A "winery" that doesn't know wine. If a Cabernet is the same as a Merlot to you, go for it. If not all reds (or whites) are created the same, go somewhere else. It's just an event space....

Sharika Seabrooks

I love city winery! It’s a beautiful place with an amazing ambience and atmosphere. I’ve been here multiple times for various wine festivals and a concert last night. The only reason there was a three star rating instead of five is because the food I received last night was horrible. I ordered calamari and French fries, something simple. For the calamari being 16 bucks they literally brought me out crumbs, which many of them were just breaded with no calamari inside. French fries were the same like the bottom of the scrapes. I asked for extra ketchup the server looked at me perplexed and stated I already had ketchup and said I know I need more because it was half gone. Never received the ketchup, tried to get the servers attention again, with the card in the cork which we were told to do to request service and he literally brushed me off with a hand motion! Now they were busy but this does not excuse poor service.

Kevin Bryant

Ordered a beer which was from a can, a female server delivered the can, sat it on the table like we were at a picnic. I had to ask for a glass, which she did bring but the outside and inside was wet, had to pour water out of glass. Our table ordered a bottle of wine and the sommelier poured the first bottle and we ordered a second bottle and sh set that bottle on the table. The food was just marginal 20.00 for a burger and fries I expect better. So then we find out that we were seated in the wrong seats. We were asked to move our drinks and food. If the patrons were late they should've been reseated. Also I asked to try a beer flavor and was told that I could not sample on this level. Soooooo after all that, now the show has started and it's hot.... AC not working?

Chad Davis

Great venue for an intimate concert. Wayne, our server, did an excellent job. The concert we saw was great and we had great seats at the last minute.

Loraine Timothy

If you like wine tastings this is the place for you to go. We were here for a birthday celebration and we had such a great time. They have so many wine choices.

Jack Ailey

Great show by Suzy Boggess.

KaShondra Harris

First and foremost, the performer Lloyd was amazing and I loved the sound quality and intimacy of the event. However, the seating was extremely tight and it felt as though the goal was to cram as many tables in the space as possible. The wait staff seemed a bit unorganized despite having had plenty of these types of events. Our server Clyde, clearly was having a bad night because his initial introduction came with a terrible attitude, which became worst when he got our orders wrong and we were simply trying to correct the tickets based on the food that we never received. We were never rude and actually considerate of the error due to the magnitude of the event, but Clyde was defensive and confrontational, despite his own errors for no apparent reason. When we finally received our food order that was missed, it was mediocre at best.

Rekita Thornhill

Went to Musiq Soulchild concert.. ignore my horrible signing! The concert was awesome however the experience was subpar and embarrassing ! We arrived early and were seated by a hostess, during the concert we were informed we had been seated incorrectly and we needed to move asap. This happened after we ordered food and drinks, in the mist of eating. I asked the hostess if she could help me move my food and drinks, she said “ no I will need to find your waitress “. Let me reiterate we did not seat ourselves we were escorted to our incorrect seats by a hostess! Embarrassing and unprofessional! The venue is beautiful the singer was amazing but the service and food “horrible “.

Brooke Jackson

Went last night to see Musiq, service was good for drinks but we purchased the VIP tickets so we'd have a good view. I only saw glimpses of the performance. The table directly in front of me had 2 extremely tall heavy set people who moved throughout the entire show making it even harder to see and focus. I felt so cheated out of the money I paid for what could've been a great show.

Sonjanita Moore

Great ambiance good wine but the mid day menu and food was not great! Approx $13 for a mountain of kale too with cheese Shreds (didn’t taste like it was a kale Caesar salad) with 3 skewers of chicken bites - not even 1/2 a chicken breast (for which I was charged $5 I think) was not what I thought I would get. Ended up going to McDonalds to eat immediately after this!!!

Renard Nelson

Great looking venue. Classy down to earth crowd. However disappointed in the New Year's festivities. $220 for me and my wife. And the buffet food was cold and lacked variety. And the live band wasn't good at all. Bar service was good. All in all disappointed.

Aum Mu Ra

One of the greatest spots in the city!!! I, absolutely, love this venue!!!

Brian Williams

Great venue! Good food, live music, and wine the perfect date night for me and my wife. Music Soulchild's performance was great and the have a nice sound system. The staff was great as well. I can't wait to see another show here, city winery got it right!

f4t3 football

Very nice venue especially for the upclose concerts. Service was horrible. A person in my party waited entirely too long to get her meal and when she got it, the food was cold. I had to ask for my condiments 3 different times and of course the food is now cold. The venue was not crowded so not sure reason for all the confusion. Would try again because the venue for concerts is nice. Hope service will be better next time

Nicholas Barrera

The food and service is great. We had a full meal for two and a glass of wine each. Still the cost was below $100, great for a night in the west loop. Then came the worst part as we walked out. We notice there were parked cars every where which made it impossible to get our Uber. Mind you it was freezing and snowing. Then we finally find our Uber. We get in and our Uber driver asked the Valet guy to close the door to the car he was valeting. The valet guy became very angry, he started to yell at our car, giving our driver the finger, then left his car, starts to pound on the hood to our Uber car, then came to the window of our Uber drivers window n tried to open his door to fight him. Very scary! This is a great place once you get inside but watch out for the west loop valet people they will make your experience here very bad! If you come might want to bring a stick to fend for your Uber and get out safe. Get a new valet company!!!

Sara Shapiro

Great comedy show, fantastic service, and delicious meal (salad and wine). Tremendous place overall and would go back in a heartbeat! Plenty of street parking, but had fortunate timing on Christmas Day!

Nicole Astin

Great atmosphere and live music....need more options with the food and drinks....food and drinks priced high.....service is slow but friendly

David Shih

Great place for large groups or an nice date night. Families would be welcome here too. It's a good music venue but I've been here for just dinners and I like that they have a courtyard when the weather is nice. The food was good and the service was friendly. The West Loop has a ton of options for going out but this has always been a good choice, especially if you have a larger group and want something nice yet feels casual!

Bridgett L

Love the venue, music was Amazing. But I would definitely eat upstairs or at another restaurant. We ordered two different items and had to send both back. It taste like it was frozen and slightly heated. The French fries was dry. But we enjoyed the music on a empty stomach.

Zachary Devereaux

They have a really cool venue for performances downstairs! The sound is definitely loud. It is definitely a shock when the music comes on if you are sitting anywhere near the stage. The service is pretty good for the most part and the food is on average for Atlanta. One of our members had to send the duck tacos back because the meat was cold, but then the tacos never came back to the table so we had to have them removed from the bill. Overall, we had a pleasant experience and the burlesque show was amazing.

Jim Tykal

Great venue for live music. We enjoyed dinner and drinks on the patio before the show.

Jack Cieslak

Very nice venue. Intimate setting, large bar, intoor and outdoor eating areas, valet parking, and easy access to expressways. Great 1st experience. A little cushioning on the seats would help.

Dave Kemp

Phone Buyers beware!!! It pains me to write a bad review on city winery. But here goes. I purchased seats in the premier section via my phone only to find out their website doesn't work well with purchasing tickets via the phone. I purchased 2 premier seats together on the phone web browser and found out that they were not together at a later date. All City winery said they could do is move me to another section in the back of the venue and credit me the difference. Not even refund the difference but credit it. Had I known on the company website that buying tickets over the phone didn't work well I would've purchased them via my laptop. A great date night ruined.

Tomekeia Hines

Very nice atmosphere. Wish the weather was better today so I could fully enjoy everything! Will definitely be back when weather permits.

Mark Bernhard

Best venue for live music in the city for more "mature" crowd

John Lewis

The City Winery has a lovely atmosphere and attentive staff, making it easy to enjoy a comfortable night out. Our server even went as far as explaining the history of the winery and building. The flatbreads were delicious too, would highly recommend.

Anthony

Great atmosphere, came for comedy show, the food was good and the service was quick. The menu options were very diverse from goat tacos to Calamari.

Ree S

Messed up my food order. No apology from Manager; customer service 0 Show was great.

Marshun Hill

My wife and I I've always talked about seeing a concert in a small venue. This was absolutely perfect. We were a little concerned because of the reviews of the food that we had read. However our food was fantastic. Great night

Victoria Jones

Absolutely horrific. They didn’t even take our name down. An hour later they thought it was funny that they asked about my reservation. Once we were were seated, took another hour to get a glass of wine (which we got from the bar by ourselves). Food took an additional hour.. needless to say service was terrible. This has been my 3rd terrible experience here, I’m done with given them my service.

Jeff York

DO NOT EAT BRUNCH HERE! We ordered avocado toast. Easy right? One of the most basic items a menu could have for brunch and yet...oh, so awful. First time it came out the bread was soggy and not toasted at all. We sent it back as our waiter tried to explain to us that it was soggy because "the avocado was so heavy." False...it barely had avocado on it. The second time it came out, the eggs were still cold, bread still soggy. So a manager came and tried to help us and sent it back. By this time I had finished my meal (the burger - mediocre at best) and my wife still didn't have her food. The third time it came out the bread had been clearly dipped in butter, pan fried like hell, and then scraps of avocado put back on it. Truly, utterly tragic. Not to mention opening the egg to reveal it was still cold and undercooked. Keisha the manager was super helpful and apologetic but even she should have seen the third time that this was food not worth serving. Do not come here for brunch - I cannot stress this enough. The chef clearly takes zero pride in his work.

Kathleen Maddox

I have passed up many shows here because of negative reviews. What a mistake! We finally went to Atlanta's City Winery to see one of my favorite songwriters, Jimmy Webb. This really is a nightclub. The ambiance is charming and intimate. There really is not a bad seat in the house because the room is small. Some people have complained that, because of the room's size, tables are squished together uncomfortably. They are close but tolerable. Plus, sitting so near other patrons, we ended up having nice conversations with people which made the visit even more enjoyable. I had read that the food is not good. We ordered the Margarita flatbread and the bruschettas, wine, and beer. The food and drinks were brought to us promptly. All were excellent! I had read that the service was poor. Not for us at all. Our server, DeShawn, was wonderful. It was a wonderful, truly fun evening. We will definitely be going back for other shows, maybe even become "Vinophiles."

Now that we're in summer months all the festivals have begun. One place that remains consistent throughout seasons is City Winery ATL. This place has the most extensive variety of wines that I've ever seen. They are the city's only urban winery, intimate music venue, restaurant, bar and private event space under one roof! Wow. I can't even recall how many times I've visited. Clients have met me here for lunch, I've caught up with colleagues over drinks here and I've enjoyed a few shows solo. With their vineyard just down the street, it's not a wonder why there are new wines added regularly. My mood will usually lead me to my drink of choice. Sometimes, it's a rose kind of day. While other times, chardonnay is calling my name. Either way I'm never disappointed with my selection. I think the biggest misconception is that they are all about drinks. That is simply not true. Whether you're visiting for a comedy show or you make it in time for happy hour, there are many impressive food options. Meat eaters are always welcome. Many are pleasantly surprised by the vegetarian and vegan selections. They are very inclusive and cover all bases. Recently, I was invited to a media tasting event at City Winery ATL. While at this affair, I was introduced to their most popular menu items. The spread prepared for us was magnificent. Everything from fried chicken, salmon and their infamous flatbread were ready for our consumption. I don't frequent too many spots that have good hummus. The hummus here is sensational. It isn't bland at all. It is perhaps the best hummus in Atlanta. It tastes homemade and I could really appreciate the blend. Brussel sprouts were not my favorite growing up. What kid ate this dish willingly? They smelled funny and tasted even worse. City Winery ATL makes the best Brussel sprouts of all time! Between the feta cheese and the wine vinaigrette, it creates a melodious symphony you won't soon forget. I was smiling from ear to ear when they brought out my favorite dish. The Margherita pizza. I get this every single time I visit. Sometimes I share with friends. Other times I enjoy it with a glass of bubbly. It's always a great choice. Executive Chef Nicholas Anderson passed through to drop some knowledge about astonishing creations. I was delighted to learn that most of the ingredients are locally sourced. That's so important. Chef also told us that he can be found any given day at the local farmers market getting fresh food for the restaurant. Head Winemaker Travis Green is Atlanta's only winemaker. His family has been making wine for generations. City Winery ATL was fortunate to get him. It was such a pleasure getting a tour of the winery from him. He gave a lot of insightful tips along the way.

Sandi Q

We went here to see Louie Anderson & had a really great time. The venue itself is very nice & I would definitely come back to see another performance, but the food was just OK, they didn't have any of my brands of alcohol (which was odd...I thought they would have a great selection) & the server was not the nicest. But I had a great time, Louie Anderson was really funny!

Brandon Cody

Went to see a show, the band was good but the sound engineering wasn’t the best. Far too loud. The wait staff was HORRENDOUS. Very rude (from multiple staff, otherwise I wouldn’t have posted this review), waited ages for drinks despite being at the table of the bands family. Just absolute garbage service, weak pours that I’m sure are measured out, but $11 for a Tito’s and soda? Get real. It’s still Ponce de Leon, not Napa Valley. Highly doubt I’ll go back despite living up the road since PCM was a boarded up tear down. I don’t recommend; unless you’re going to see someone that you really want to see, and expect nothing else.

Joshua Surufka

Incredibly great venue. Very good food and wine, incredible staff, and great environment. Also, the size of the venue gives out a great intimate feel.

Joel Pettis

I had a horrible first time experience here. I came here on the 17th of this month with my girlfriend for her birthday. I spent almost $150 on a service I could have gotten better at a fast food restaurant. My server name was Angel. We were sitting there a hour after we placed our drink orders and we ordered food also. I noticed that we had been sitting there for a long time with no food. He brought our check, so I asked when is our food coming out, he tells me that he thought that I said I wanted to wait for our food. I don't know why he put his mistake on me(the customer), clearly he dont know customer service 1 on 1. I spoke with a manager there, but he wasn't that much of a help either. Angel also, forgot my girlfriend's wine. The only thing I enjoyed was Maduca that night. I don't think I will ever bring my money here again.

L'Mekka Edwards

I saw Glenn Jones. He was good. Looked great for his age. The backup singers and band were good as well. I didn't quite like the seating arrangement. Overall nice spot for a date.

Carrie Potts

Great show and Atmosphere definitely will be back!

daniel

Very intimate spot for your date and the band's playing! Nice size and not crowded even when the place is sold out. Only 4 stars just because the beer they serve there is not very cold.....fix this and 5 stars all day.

Skeetgar11

Great place and atmosphere! Very intimate setting!

Anne Chance

This is a great venue for music, plus the food is good.

Chenelle Gayles

The food was absolutely delicious at the Atlanta location and the service was excellent! The Impossible burger tasted like meat it was heaven.

marie blaize

The show was great and the good was delicious. Had the salmon and grits with a side of brussel sprouts.

Tracey Ladner

There for Vinofile party. It was just Meh. Much better under previous director. Not sure I will continue my membership.

Susan Key

Love the music, love the venue but I had a horrible experience tonight with head of security. I've come here numerous times & never experienced this level of intrusiveness. First, I was trying to tip a waiter that was headed into the kitchen & he grabbed me as if I was trying to get into the kitchen. When I was trying to exit the venue i saw they were forcing people to go up the circular stairs. I cannot climb stairs & i always park in a handicapped spot right outside the door. I asked him for a way out so I didn't have to climb the stairs & he kept grinning & telling me to the left & up like he thinks a disability is a funny thing? Or a joke? I have been to your venue multiple times & this explains was a real shock. I mostly find your employees to be quite excellent & one of them was kind enough to help me out tonight.

William Buckner

Great food and service! Fun place for a first date.

colin evans

Great food great service awesome wine!

John Kelly

Enjoyed a touring songwriter, Brian Toney on the patio tonight. We heard him while walking past on Glen Iris, had a great time, had some drinks. Hope to hear him again, unusual songs.

Cindy V

Management has poor communication with talent and sets them up to be against each other for stage time. Not professional. Does not accept responsibility.

S

Extremely overprice wine and food. We went at 3 and we were only given a menu with extremely overpriced appetizers passed as food. Since we found that out we were just gonna get our main food elsewhere and we just shared the tiniest "shareable" hummus for 14 dollars. It was a scoop with 4 thin waifers. I don't mind paying for something good but a glass of ok wine for 14 dollars n a tiny appetizer for another 14 is a joke. Had it not been for the slow service on an almost empty room maybe I would have gone back for a wine tasting but I'll def pass in the future.

matthew alan Webb

Accidentally posted this comment on Ponce City Market before I found this page.I took my fiancé to a show at City Winery. The venue was packed and our server Aimee seemed to have a million tables. Despite that, she gave us AMAZING SERVICE and helped us get through the fantastic wine list with knowledge and ease. If you have a night out, request this lady, she made us laugh and got our food out like a waitress 3000 from the future. Our friends had a tall guy waiting on them a few tables away. They also enjoyed the show and would give the place another chance but received their first round as we were being brought our main course and a second bottle. The atmosphere is classy and the crowd is fun, definitely recommend City Winery. Ladies, consider a small cardigan in case the air is on high. : )

Janette diMonda

I went to a show here and our waiter was struggling. We had an entire conversation about wines and decided on the rose and he never brought it. I reminded him and he acted like it was the first time he heard it. He brought the checks out really early before the food had even been served (which it seems like he forgot about too because it took forever and we again had to remind him). When he finally brought the food out the "garlic herb" fries had no seasoning. He did bring an extra plate of fries but then took the first one back so it's not like we even got extra. We should've been compensated with something for the terrible service honestly but he didn't offer anything. The room was also so cold I almost thought about asking for a towel or something to drape over me. The food and wine was good though, and the setup and musicians were fantastic.

Darren Spence

Great space for live entertainment, let’s get that right. Our server explained that Wine was their #1 priority, then music, then everything else. Man, was she right! The wine was superb! Food is subpar at best and grossly overpriced. Took a couple attempts to get it right and even then there were opportunities - most of the food in our party came out lukewarm and had to be sent back for a myriad of issues. I would love to see a tapas menu here - would work perfectly with the fantastic shows they have. The mixed drinks leave a lot to be desired, but if you go, order the wine! One more thing - took an incredibly long time between appetizers and dinner orders. Seemed like they were stalling for one reason or another - and they were not busy. I really hope they improve tho.

Kevin Patel

We made reservations for Sunday brunch on Mother's Day for a large group, but we had no idea it would be buffet style until we arrived. We picked this place because their regular brunch menu had several vegetarian options for our group, but unfortunately their buffet had very limited choices. We were also told by our original waitress that we could still order off the regular brunch menu, however, that wasn't true because the rest of the staff said their buffet was all they were serving for brunch. The buffet food was not good and definitely not worth $25 per person even if you are not vegetarian. The manager also tried to take away one of our kids' high chairs because she said they only had two available for the restaurant and they both could not be used at the same table. Keep in mind there were no other children who needed high chairs at the time and I had also requested two high chairs when I made reservations. We spent close to $400 and the food and service sucked so we will not be coming back. There are so many other restaurants in the area that appreciate your business and actually make better food.

Blinc

I was in town visiting last Wednesday and my friends decided to take me to the city winery. Everything was absolutely perfect! Our server Kelly was very informative and described the von buhl Riesling perfectly! We shared a few small plates and a salad! Everything came out so quickly and was absolutely perfect! I will bringing more people here when I come back to Atlanta.

Dorcas Bussey

GREAT PLACE!!! you feel like you are in EUROPE !! the restaurant is great with variety BUT a bit pricey!!! A pastrami sandwich will cost u 9 bucks plus tax and the potato chips are awesome!!! they make it themselves!! the whole atmosphere is romantic or jazz casual... THE WINES ARE VERY GOOD....SOMETIMES THERE IS LIVE MUSIC!!! GREAT PLACE A.

J Romano

I was there for the Maysa concert. The venue is small but every seat is a good seat. There's wine tasting and you can choose from a long list of wines. You can order one glass or a whole bottle. I ordered a lamb sandwich, which was basically a gyro. I didn't like the chairs, the we're hard and uncomfortable.

andre gould

The venue was very nice. However the food was not good at all. So I would say go see the show you can have wine and drinks but don't order the food it's wack.

Elizabeth Clarke

Disappointing. Paid $12 for three tiny “chocolate chip” pancakes (which were actually just regular pancakes with about six chocolate chips dumped on top). Drink potions were not generous. Service was extremely slow even though they were not busy. The space was pretty but that is about the only positive. Maybe the other meals are better than brunch, but I won’t be coming back.

F K

Wonderful experience. Server was great. Overall venue was great. I totally enjoyed my first concert here! I was up and close with the artist. I look forward to going again.

Claudetta Griffith

Great intimate concert setting! Wine tasting as well.

Karen Cole

The show was great, but the service was awful. It took forever to get my food order and had a very hard time tracking the waiter down to order drinks.

Steve Shows

Went here to see Gaelic Storm (who is always amazing) but the bartenders were awful and the drinks are way over priced. The service was so bad that it ruined the overall experience of seeing the band. Haven’t had the food there and don’t care to based on how rude the staff was and how expensive/slow they are. Hopefully others have a better experience.

Scott Sigman

Good service, Good food, good wine, good venue, good acoustics/sound system. We really enjoyed date night. They packed the crowd in a bit. With numerous empty seats the venue could have provided a bit of extra room to those that were there.

Telley Williams

My first time at City Winery and Best of Atlanta Comedy. Talented men and women. Who all shared more about the humor of life than the craziness of those who live it daily. Great atmosphere. Packed house so it was quite snug. A variety of selection of wines and food. Great night out.

Christina Marie

Great place. Good vibes. Great food all around an awesome place to eat and see live music.

Akeia Lyles

I visited city winery for the first time today to celebrate my birthday. Our waitress was so attentive and made AMAZING suggestions for wine selections. The manager was super friendly and more than accommodating. The music was at a great level. Not super loud, but loud enough to sing along without fear of being heard. We will be back for sure! Thanks for making my special day that much more special

Adele Wilhelm

Great music and great drinks!

Alisha Thornton

I love the food and concerts.

Ginger Roberts

City Winery is the coolest restaurant, music venue, private dining space, working Winery, and speakeasy all wrapped up in one amazingly space. The outdoor patio spectacular! If you haven’t checked this place out, you’re missing a special Atlanta treasure. Food is delicious and they have an interesting cocktails. Parking is easy at Ponce City Market annex.

Gabriel Mctagg

I really liked this place. Easy valet parking. Staffs were friendly and did provided the best excellent customer service. Great menu and portions were nice.

Barbara Evans

Had a great time! Rather tight. Service not that great, food was terrible. Every thing was Flat Bread. All food was in pizza form. Not impressed. Great entertainment freindly patrons. I rate 3stars!

Chris Blattman

A great space for shows. But though we arrived 20 mins before show started, it was 30 mins into the show before we got our first glass of wine. I don’t know if they were grossly understaffed or if the staff just aren’t paying attention. It should not take 50 mins to get wine at a winery. But the only time the waitress was quick and attentive was when she was delivering the bill.

Greg Wagner

great food and exceptional music

Erika Zachery

The city winery has an amazing vibe to it. Great ambiance, very cozy, perfect for a date night. The bad: the waitress was awful ....and the food not up to par. I ordered a simple burger ($16) medium well. What I got was a bloody, raw patty of ground beef. The cooks barely put fire to it. Needless to say I did not eat that. I patiently awaited the return of the waitress to rectify the matter. The whole entire show came and went....I starved! I asked another waitress who was tending her guests to ask my waitress to come back.... she never did. I did not see the waitress back until it was check time. I tried to get her attention to which she ignored me until she had passed out all the checks then I was met with "what do you want?" Aghast, I looked at her like, you don't see this entire plate of food uneaten. So I proceeced to tell my issue and she cut me off saying all I can do is take it off the bill. Oh wow! A patron, first time customer was made to starve at dinner theater. City Winery, I am disappointed by the lack of good service and attention. Had she offered to remake my burger I would have given more stars, but I cannot condone bad service!! Eat before you go people! The service is not worth it. There is no care for the patrons.

P James

Nice venue with quality acts.

Quo Vardis Thompson

I attended a concert last night and as a vegan I am extremely disappointed in the options. The concert started at 8pm. I placed an order around 7:30pm for the one vegan meal and the waitress came back and said they were sold out and asked if there was anything else on the menu I’d like although she also stated there were no other vegan options. I asked for the brussel sprouts without feta and they were brought out to me with feta on them. I sent them back due to this and they were returned to me in another dish but they clearly scraped off the feta as there was feta at the bottom of the dish which I showed everyone at my table and they were disappointed. I then asked the waitress if she could ask the chef if a dish could be created for me and she returned saying that no, but I could have the quinoa salad the shrimp piri piri comes on without the shrimp. I did not eat dinner thinking this would be a place I would have a meal and I was wrong. As the night went on I finally opted to order the hummus plate and this was the highlight of the night as it was very good. There were not enough of the pita(chips) for the dish and I asked if I could have a few extra and was told there would be an additional charge of $2. At this point this was my only option so she brought them out and I was able to finish the plate. Overall I will not attempt to have a meal here again and will eat elsewhere in Ponce City Market prior to an event. I expected more and as my first experience here it was not pleasing.

estell sims

City winery was a wonderful experience. Aaron Neville was great The layout was very nice The food and wine was great.the employee was very professional. A wonderful night out.

Ali

Overall the experience was lackluster. It took nearly 25 minutes for us to get a glass of wine after being seated due to confusion between staff. After that, the staff didn’t make any effort to make up for it. No percentage off the bill, desert etc. Food was okay, nothing great. Prices are overall okay for the West Loop, but since the food and wine were nothing special I won’t be back. Also we were headed to the United Center for a concert and it took forever to get the bill.

Aja Caffey

Mike and Helena are amazing!!! Great and fast service!

Daniel Citrenba

I'm a big fan of the original in NYC. I've been the Chicago one multiple times to dine and for charity events. I love the space - very cool atmosphere. A great place to take out of town guests. A lot of the menu is shareable food, so be forewarned. The only downside to this place is the lack of it's wine flights - I really think they are missing out an opportunity. The servers are very knowledgeable of not only the in-house wines but the others the restaurant carries as well. Its a place that is good for a drinks and apps as well as a full dinner. All I have left to do here is actually see a show.

Chris Singer

Buck is the one you want to see. He will take care of everything. Great Irish and Japanese whiskey.

Joana Young

I've been to City Winery several times and always enjoyed it. They book big names as well as lesser known artists and the ticket prices are usually reasonable. The food is also good. This time we had the burrata and the duck tacos, which were both excellent. My only complaints with this place are that the tables are packed super close together and we had to hunt the waitress down to get one item we ordered and the bill at the end. Overall, it is a very nice venue good acoustics and food, although cramped.

Susan Sullivan

Great atmosphere, delicious food and fantastic service from Buck!

csongbird7

Rachel was an awesome waitress. Frittata dishes didn't have enough flavor. My husband had chicken an waffles. Chicken was flavorful and the waffles were average. Best brunch dish hands down was the shakshuka! Flavorful and cooked to perfection!

Tonya Weaver

Always crammed up regarding seating. Kenny Latimore was great as usual. Would give my lamb sandwich and fries a "C", unfortunately.

Randy Leonard

Myself and my wife went to a concert on October 27, 2019. We got there 1 hour early to have time to order dinner and wine. Our waiter was horrible. He took our food order, but needless to say he never brought it to the table. We ordered wine and they brought it and told us they were out of chillers. The waiter then brought us a bill for food we never received. The show was great, but the waIter was horrible. We then talked to the manager and informed him of the situation. He then asked us if the waiter heard our order. Clearly if he brought the bill he heard the order. He then told us next time we should come early enough to give the kitchen time to prepare the food. We informed him we were 1 hour early. I was disappointed in the way management shifted the blame from his staff to us. THE SHOW WAS GREAT, BUT THE SERVICE AND MANAGEMENT STAFF RECEIVE 1 STAR.

Melissa Jasso

Had dinner, and the venue was beautiful. Now the food is terribly bland for how much it costs. Putting expensive ingredients in food does not automatically make it taste good.I fear City Winery’s problem is it’s reliance on its location and looks.

Timothy Herrin

Great food. Great service. Great music!

Nathan Holgate

Love everything about this place, the music, the wine, the food, the people!!!! I could go on and on, definitely my favorite place to be in the city. Keep it up, City Winery!!

Mark McGuire

I always love coming to this place. In the summer I like to head to the patio for dinner and a glass of wine, and in the winter their indoor concert space is a perfectly intimate spot to catch some incredible musicians. Food is good, wine is great, and the service is even better! Shout-out to Sally for some great menu recommendations!

Robin Haynes

The atmosphere was relaxed, casual and quite enjoyable

Ken Yoder

Staff was great......Brian was top notch.

Eddie Thomas

Enjoyed my Birthday celebration here on Sept. 7th , AWB Concert music was great. Had fantastic drinks and staff was super professional, however the food was terribly awful, management needs to recruit and hire a Top Chef quickly. I will be back soon but not for the food. ....

Miriam Schuman

Classy venue with delicious food and live music. Wait staff is helpful and responsive. Valet parking is available for $13, but we were able to find free parking on the street.

Glenn Morrow

Intimate seating with good acoustics. I will no doubt go back.

Linda Martin

The music venue part is awesome BUT that said ~ the service is TERRIBLE!!! Been there twice now. Hopefully City Winery will revamp their service as well as quality of food before they go under/forced to close their doors. It could be an easy fix under good management ~ bad service to me is a direct reflection on the management. Lots of GREAT music venues in Atlanta to suffer thru a disappointing time at City Winery Atlanta.

Natalie Morgan

Excellent, great food, great shows, love this place!!

Shirley Kennedy

We went for the Valentine's Day menu. We both had bruschetta for our first course and flat iron steak with collards, sweet potato puree with crab salad for our second course. I wasn't too sure how the crab salad fit, but it was delicious. He had the donuts while I had the vanilla cake with pears in wine sauce. So yummy! I had the pairing and let me tell you, you need to immediately taste the City Winery cabernet sauvignon reserve. I typically prefer white wine but that cabernet is the best wine I have ever put in my mouth! The wait staff was amazing. I would DEFINITELY do that again!

Christine Hawthorne

This is a very nice venue, they have delicious food and drinks but be prepared to pay!

L. strong

The staff was very attentive and welcoming. The establishment is well put but food and beverages are a tad bit overpriced. Still had a great time

Jake Van Cleave

The atmosphere here is amazing and the food is even better! I was impressed from the moment I walked in. To too it all off, my favorite artist is having a show here. I would definitely recommend coming here!

Samantha Hurwitz

Went on a Friday night - the wine is delicious, food is tasty and decent portions. Our server Ashley was FANTASTIC!!!

Dan Peyton

Terrible service during our visit. We sat at the bar to wait for a table and the bartender asked us to grab a table. We sat down amongst plates and glasses left from the previous people. When we asked if they could be removed the waitress gave us huge attitude because we sat without being guided by a host. If this is service in the US, then the systems broken.

Lynn Ledford

The food ok, wine was very good. However, the space was extremly cramped for entertainment. Everyone was touching the person on either side. If you are claustrophobic I would not suggest it.

David Schwartz

A great place for many different things. A great wine bar, a intimate music Hall with national and international entertainment, a great event place, a wine education center and an average gastro pub. Indoor and outdoor seating including private party spaces. The entertainment includes well known performers who follow a city winery circuit. People such as Aaron Neville, The subdudes etc They have a wine event about every two weeks

J Gfavor

The venue is awesome, the food is delicious, the acts are great, but the real star of the show is the wine.

Drew Ahlgren

Great atmosphere. Clean establishment. Professional service. Food and wine were both wonderful.

D.R. Green

Stunning atmosphere, BUUUTTTTTT the service & menu need improvement. We never got part of our order, and learned that a lot of people didn't. I would suggest people eat BEFORE they arrive. The venue itself is stunning. Enjoyed Eric Roberson last night. Very intimate setting.

Melissa Carter

Can I give it more than 5 stars??? Coolest venu. The food is even delicious! Every seat has a great view. Feels so intimate. Go meet your favorite artist after the show! With wine and fireplaces!! And a weird trick photobooth.

anthony burton

Fantastic venue, great energy..always a treat.....

Marva Kellogg

I went the weekend of my birthday, for the first time. It started out fine, and my boyfriend and I enjoyed the show. Our server took our food AND wine order. He brought the wine, and 15 mins later, he brought the check. Our food hadn't come, and he didn't have it on the check. We asked about it, and he said WE told him to hold off on bringing the food. Turns out, it was just sitting in the back, getting cold. Then he never brought my other glass of wine, saying I said I didn't want it yet.

Lindsay Winn

The food was so delicious and the service was great. We had a great visit!

joel berman

Great place to see a wide range of music, much better mix than most Live Nation venues. Lately the food is noticeably improved.

Leslie Mishu

Great service. We were a group of eight. We enjoyed being able to order several carafes of different wines rather than full bottles or single glasses. Food is small plates so they are brought out as soon as ready so everything was hot. Atmosphere is nice. It is definitely lively. Not the place to go if looking for quiet night out.

Ami Hill

Tried to purchase a gift card for a family member who lives in Atlanta. Never got the card; never got the refund, even though Phil responded to my first poor review saying that it was being worked on and to email him. Did that twice. Emailed others as well. No response. Had to dispute charge on my credit card. Some of the worst customer service I've ever had.

Odysseas

Great venue. Not the greatest for hip-hop and they had it turned up too loud but... He's still a really cool spot. For something else, it'd be amazing. Plus the staff were all really nice and helpful.

Jacob Dahleen

Great service and good food. We aren’t super experienced with wines and our server let us try 5 different types before we decided on one. Would come back again.

Tracey Murphy

Very nice decor with a great show.

Ronald Nurse

Great sound! 300 seating limit insures a intimate evening and staff and on-hands owner will gladly assist you. Wine selection is brilliant. Haven't eaten there but looks and smells wonderful.

Lydel Blade, MBA, EA

I made reservations through open table with notification that my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. Requested acknowledgement of our anniversary by our server in the reservation. That did not happen. We were seated by the fireplace, which would have been great, if servers and guests were not squeezing by our table during our meal. We ordered the underwhelming turkey burger, which came with no lettuce or tomato. The fries tasted old and were luke warm at best. Asked for another order, received more of the same. Our server had a larger party besides us, was sat an additional large party ( his words)and really did not show attentiveness to our table. The wine was weak and uneventful...nothing unique at all, watery grapes at best. We were completely underwhelmed and dissatisfied with City Winery. We will never dine here again! Cooper’s Hawk definitely has a much better restaurant and wine experience. Don’t waste your time or money on City Winery

Brittany Atcheson

Lunch special is great and affordable. Added a glass of wine for a few dollars more. The outside patio was pretty quiet on a Friday early afternoon but started to pick up a bit when we left. Out waiter checked up on us very frequently. It was a great first visit to this restaurant.

ARL

Best place in atlanta to see a concert intimacy wise. But its tight tiiigght in there seating wise. They need more consideration for the disabled and I usually eat before going. Just sayin...

Kristina H.

This was a really nice venue. The look, feels and sounds are great. The food however was questionable. I'm rating a 4 for this reason. The show was great. Our seats were great. Food came out timely and looked good. The wine was delicious. I …

Joe Ann Watson

Great Amosphere and Food

Amaezin

Sometimes I come here for live music and the most enjoyable experience is the live music. Other than that, the service is slow and the food doesn't taste good.

Max Mcmillen

Great farro risotto. Saw Cyrille Aimee. Great show; great service.

Charlie Benson

Great venue. Ask your friends where they sit for suggestions (but there's really no bad seats). Valet park. Never had a bad experience.

Amit Sahgal

What a disaster this place is. We had to wait for 55 minutes for our order. And when we asked the server on the status of our order, she recommended that we close to the order as it was going to a while. And what was even worse was the attitude. Never again. Don’t know such pathetic places even survive

shanice coleman

Over the weekend we went to city winery with some friends. The prices were quite high in the selection was a little limited. They change their menu quite frequently. You can also make your own flights (but beware they were out of many things). The sweet potato cheesecake (new item) was amazing!!!! I enjoyed this visit as well as other visits! Will continue to visit.

elizabeth fantauzzi

The Peabo Bryson Concert was Excellent. Unfortunately our calamari was cold, the flatbread was good. It took to long to get our wine.

Denise Garvy

The ambiance is homey. Waiters and other staff were helpful, respectful, and pleasant. It's why we keep coming back!

Michael S

Great wine, fun people. If you don't enjoy thos place it's your fault!

Eric Hurst

A great place to see a show but the service was very slow. It took 30 minutes to get a glass of wine. I glad we didn't order food.

Vanessa Mallard

It was my first visit to a City Winery. I had heard many good things about them. I was in town for the Miki Howard show. It was a VERY intimate show. I was able to get seats by the stage so I was super excited about being able to be upfront. I did feel like they squeezed a few too many chairs per table because there was hardly any breathing room. There was some kind of seating mix up with another party, but it was handled quickly and very discreetly. The drinks were great. The dishes were just okay. I'd have to come back and visit when the kitchen isn't experiencing a rush in order to be back more accurate judge on the food.

Bob Ransijn

Walked in for my wife’s birthday with our 6 and 2 year olds walking. Hostess was rude about our 2 year old walking in in front of us by herself and said “can you take care of her”. It was 4pm and not busy or anything. Not a good place for families. We walked away so I can’t judge the wine or food...

Natalie

Our dining experience was a huge disappointment. Waitress had to locate the cheese tray we ordered when she discovered it was not delivered and one of our two entrees was brought to the table 20 minutes after the other. Manager offered dessert which we declined. Would have meant more if he/she came to the table to apologize as the restaurant was not busy.

Louis Khor

They had Alto Moncayo Veraton, which was good and appropriately priced. Next time I'll try their Turner Pageot Le Rouge from Languedoc, Grenache/Syrah. Little Gem Salad was good, Burger was fine.

Amy Casida

Great place, cozy venue, and a toasted marshmallow cheesecake to die for!

john schaffer

Incredible experience! Nice food, great wine and wonderful music! Highly recommend the experience!

Molly Kust

I loved City Winery! Have been wanting to go for a while. I appreciate getting a wine tasting when I got seated. That's a nice touch. The food and service were all excellent. I love the low-lit romantic atmosphere. Still great for ladies' night or group dates. They have a FREE photo booth in the lobby!! We had a blast taking photos and emailing it. One thing I would like to see are more options of non-California wines on the tap list.

Chris K

Harmful sound levels & dinner fail. I brought earplugs because I love my loud music. This venue, however, over delivers. I've given it a couple tries and both times I had to seek refuge at the bar upstairs. 3 days later and my ears are still ringing. They better hope those "do you have a loved one who suffers" commercials don't find out about this place... The food should make me happy; great flavors, better than expected preparation. But three times the kitchen + server failed to make a simple burger, even screwing up a food allergy. The 1st time I would have called it a mistake. Twice more? I choked down food I didn't want to eat because I was hungry and otherwise already miserable from the volume. The beverage is California expensive, $30 for call drink + a beer. Had to double check: $34.91 with tip, so it was $28.91 for my tab. A drummer accompanied my visit and said he thought he might have some permanent hearing loss - the cotton in ears feeling hours later. I would say come here if you're a fanatic for the performer but I can't. I'm an engineer, I'd be recommending a harmful activity. It's loud enough, I wonder if OSHA would even approve single level hearing protection for continued exposure. All of this makes me sad because I really like the group of friends who make this a regular destination. Edited to add: after posting my 1 star review, I read the other 1 star reviews. Long term pattern of folks falling through the cracks. Not a recent trend nor an "old problem". There is a core component of service at this kind of venue that's missing. Don't know what's missing, but the glue isn't there to make guest's experiences cohesive.

Melita Jackson

Great venue! Very intimate for a show. Food and service has been superb on my visits here! Looking forward to the next show!

Amy Wilschke

Really delicious food, tasty wine and a fun, light ambiance. Great for date night or girl's night out. The menu is tapas-style/small sharing plates and I definitely went home hungry after spending a good amount of cash. But for a special occasion or treat, this is a great spot. The service is also friendly and knowledgeable!

cheriti page

Had a great night with my best friend for her birthday. They put on an amazing show.

Dennis Izzard

Took my wife to City Winery Atlanta for her birthday weekend, secondly because she was a big fan of the all girls female group Klymaxx who was performing. The food, service, sound and atmosphere was excellent. If you are looking for a great place to dine and see great live talent, I highly recommend the City Winery Atlanta.

ariane byrd

Nice, clean, clasdy, upscale venue. Very polite and accomidating staff!!

Tracey Sanders

Great shows, good atmosphere; food not good at all.

Angilee LeConte

Brian McKnight concert was our 3rd time as this venue. We enjoyed the show. The only negative, no host. No one introduced him he just walked on stage which seemed odd. No opening act. No band behind him. Gave a feeling as if they were trying to save money.. But Brian was pure talent.. his voice is beautiful..... Now all three times we have been to the venue the food has been the same.. mediocre. I always bring 8 or more people with me and we ALL say the same. The food taste like heated frozen food. And the mix drinks SUCKS. I highly suggest eat before you come and stick with a glass of wine

Sasha Rackman

Such a great venue especially for live music

Robert Burger

Was there for a show. Very nice and classy place. Duck tacos were very good but served so as you put them together yourself.

Trevor Johnson

While we did have a bad first experience, our second experience was great. I have to say the atmosphere downstairs is wonderful. The food, drinks, and service were all excellent. A great date spot for sure!

Cynphelia

Nice atmosphere and good food and wine. We came on a Sunday during brunch and had the avocado toast as an appetizer and the French toast and steak & egg sandwich as entrees. French toast was so good and the steak was well seasoned! The avocado toast was surprisingly good as well and definitely worth trying if it’s your first time!

Carolyn Terry

If you've not experienced a show at the City Winery, you just betta!!

Leslie Johnson

2nd visit and patronage good vibes so far ... Excrept I do not cater to seafood nor vegan specialties ... I'm old school American Red beans & Rice; Spinach salad; Turkey & Dill Burger wrap; Red Pepper Special Seasoned French Fries to name a few ... Would make my FUTURE visits & patronage even more amazing .

cantstoptheflow

I would have giving this place 5 stars, but the parking situation takes that star away. This place is located inside of Ponce City Market. This whole place is breathtaking and a great place to get out and explore. I came to City Winery …

Sandra Brown

It was great it was my first time there I would come.back

Top Dog 8KLUB DZ

Great Venue! Great Food! Great Staff! Great Libations Claire is a ROCKSTAR!!!

Daijah Smith

HORRIBLE PLACE! WILL NEVER RETURN!! I went to a birthday dinner for my friend’s 21st. One of my friends ordered the salmon, asparagus and grits. She was eating her meal for 5 minutes and find a SCREW IN HER GRITS! A WHOLE SCREW! The staff was nonchalant about it. Two of our meals took 45 MINUTES TO COME OUT! One of the girls left and the other one got the meal to go. The bussers had the audacity to start bussing out table BEFORE the other two meals were even OUT! And then got an attitude and threw a plate into the buss bin when asked if he could grab a manager. The manager Michael started yelling back at one of my other friends when she demanded a refund and for those meals to be taken off our ticket. The server became absent after being told of the situation. It was an overall horrible experience and EXTREMELY overpriced for that horrible service. This needs to be removed from Ponce City Market and replaced with something 10x more worth it.

Steven Petetkort

Fabulous. Good food and service. Everyone is friendly, even when things get crazy and hectic. Excellent music / performer roster. Can't say enough good things. SDP

Aishia Shipp

Nice atomsphere!! Great food and drinks!!!

wendy bernard

Nice venue, decent food, acceptable service. Intimate setting for relaxing and listening to music. Even the background music before the performance was pretty excellent, if a bit loud.

Fran Thomas

Beautiful elegant winery! Great food & menu. Amazing performers. Does not help to come early they will not open doors until 930. Seating is fast! Service is awesome. Great venue!!!

Steven A. Spencer

SIMPLY ON POINT !!!

Justin Neagle

The space is super cool. They have a venue connected for music and shows. The Burrata is insane! I could eat that all night and be as happy as a dog off a leash. Duck tacos were also tasty! We sat by the fire place which we loved. Definitely will be back

Sista YumYum

OMG, THAT'S IT! I'm OFFICIALLY in love!!!!❤❤ So, this was my very first experience at City Winery and Lord only knows how much I enjoyed myself! My friend Renee had to tickets for last night's show and I'm so glad I agreed to accompany her. The artist and her band was Amazing, the food was Delicious, and the ambiance was very pleasant & enjoyable. Now, I wasn't able to taste any wine due to me fasting at the moment but that just gives me a reason to come back. And I WILL be back!!! #foodFEEDSmySOUL

Johnita Farmer

Extremely overpriced for the food. The salmon croquette taste like it was frozen and fried. The olive oil cake had a weird taste but not a good taste.

Ira Abrams

I've been here before with small parties and it's been ok, but this was really the perfect evening. We had a party of 16 and were seated in the quiet glass enclosed room next to the fermenting room. Michael did a great job making us comfortable and getting everyone served currently and quickly.

Hot Eats and Cool Reads

It turns out City Winery has locations in many cities, but this one in Atlanta has a ton of character and is such a great environment. It was a gorgeous May weekday when we visited, and the scent from the jasmine plants that surrounded us on the patio was relaxing and beautiful! I ordered the braised duck tacos with cabbage salad and guacamatillo salsa and they were so tasty! My sister in law ordered the wild mushroom pizza special, and I wish I could've been greedy and ordered that too! SO delicious! I love the unique menu and the winery on-site. They have live music often, and the list of bands and musicians was diverse. This place is worth a stop, for at least a glass of wine if you're at Ponce City Market! Visited 5/2018

Michael Hill

This was my first visit. The intimate room is a perfect music venue. The entire staff was extremely helpful in navigating everything. I enjoyed the Portobello sliders and the fried chicken sliders. You can purchase refillable growlers there as well. The General manager was out of this world. Go and Take in a show!

Michelle Lakes

Amazing venue, not a bad seat in the house

Kevin W

Was there for the Christopher Cross show and some supper. Our waiter Vinny was great! He was kind, personable and enjoys what he does. The food looked and tasted great. Nice atmosphere and the facility was clean. We were from out of town, but it was easy to get there and parking was plentiful. We will be back for another show, hopefully soon.

Dwight Williams

My first time there the place was great and relaxing I will go back again.

Taneva Baker

I've seen three shows at this venue now, and have been become a huge fan! This is a great intimate space with exceptional acoustics. The food, wine list and service are all top notch! Last night was particularly telling of the service. We arrived for a show, and didn't notice that my friend had bought the tickets for the wrong date until we arrived. Other friends were visiting from out of town, and couldn't stay an extra day. The venue had not sold out, and offered to allow us to trade in the tickets. They could have made us buy new tickets, but didn't hesitate to accommodate us. We're already looking at the upcoming events, to find another show we wish to see there. We were already fans, but we are now devoted friends! The only other note I might add, is that if you have discomfort sitting, you might bring a cushion ;-)

T Rosemore

Very attentive service. Food a but pricey but necessary to support the live music.

Derrick Summerville

My first time going to City Winery (a friend of mine invited me to hear him play). I love the location, the customer service at the door, the ambiance, the music, and the vibe of the establishment. I will be back. HOWEVER, the food service was terrible. I ordered the bbq sliders with mac-n-cheese. They brought out the mac-n-cheese (which was delicious) but not the sliders. I had to request that my server check on them after a considerable amount of time. By the time I received the sliders, they were cold. This is very disappointing considering that everything else was on point. I will be back; just maybe NOT for dinner.

Coach T

Beautiful astetics! Dining area and the entertainment venue are amazing! Huge wine selection and upscale food choices. A little pricey, but definitely worth it.

Stephanie Laurent

The sound in the venue is great as well as the artist they bring in to perform. HOWEVER the tables are to close together. There's literally no room to wiggle and God forbid you sit at a front table and need to relieve yourself. I would pay a higher ticket price if it meant some of tables were removed so you could truly enjoy the experience.

jeanettesdaughter

Negatively affected by the reviews but I

John Freund

Friendly, helpful staff. Convenient location, although not much parking but they have valet. Nice sized venue; big lobby, restaurant, and concert area with food and drink service. Seating is kinda tight and cozy with everyone but it's alright.

Rasheeda Etheredge

Very beautiful place. Good parking . Staff was real nice. Perfect for date night or girls night out.

Ronney Hunter Jr.

I am very disappointed with City Winery! My son made reservations for 12 and add 3 more people bring it to 15 they said no problem. When we got there they had a table ready for 12 in a back which they converted by adding another table to 15 great. The real problem came when they said the kitchen is closed and you can only order off of a small snack menu. My son was not told this when he made the reservation or when we got there at 2pm, we didn't find this out until we where all seated it is a little late then. You just can't leave when you have 6 seniors and 2 handicap and 4 children. And when the bill comes it's $400 for cold cuts and salad man you tell me if that's right. The waiter was great. Tell me what you think...

James Press

Never a disappointment!

Jessell Hill

Went to City Winery to Rachelle Ferrell it was off the chain she did none of her old stuff but the show was still good what she could have done some old stuff great place to hang with friends or Family

Luka Ry

Good food, great wine. I recommend this place

Ora Richman

Very nice and comfortable setting❤

Spencer Darlene

We went to the Father's Day Brunch. The music and all the artist were awesome including the guy who was pulled from the audience. The food on the other hand was just ok. It was so dark you couldn't see the signs indicating what the food was and they were not all labeled. The shrimp and grits were delicious. Everything else was just ok. If your going to serve frozen potatoes, can't you jazz them up a bit atleast? All of the food was warm. It should have been hot. The servers had way to many to table's to handle which made the service bad.

Yvette Michele

Tight quarters, untrained and inattentive staff, poor tasting food, I can’t even say how ghetto this location is on the venue level. Super disappointed. Only suitable for music and drinks.

Amanda Thompson

I was so excited to try this place but the service, food, and wine were terrible. Our waiter didn’t recommend any wine for us, and even when we asked he didn’t have a good knowledge. Felt more like an Applebee’s and definitely not up to Chicago’s standards

Doris Jones

Awesome experience. The tour was a gift from my son for Mother's day. Only reason for 4 stars is they didn't offer a bottle of wine to everyone in our party.

Tara Walters

Went here for the first time today to attend a concert for Mikki Howard which was awesome. Venue was very nice. The food on the other hand wasn't very good and a bit overpriced. I would definitely return for the venue and its concerts but will probably just stick to the drinks for my personal preference.

kisha mcdougle

Great venue for concerts, great food. They are a tad bit cheap on the drinks, and wine. But I give it 5 stars.

Jim Hajek

Very good sight lines, varied food choices and excellent professional services. Very good sound system and exciting talent.

Rudy Z

Great atmosphere for a relaxing night out. The food is good, if a tad pricey. There's a nice range of wines available and the venue is set-up well for live performances.

Matthew Johnston

I got married here less than 2 weeks ago and having spent a good part of my life putting on live theater I know that what they do is amazing. I would recommend them for brunch, lunch, dinner, and for any major event in your life. They Are Amazing. From everyone on their staff to everyone they recommend for the things they don't offer in house. I only used a florist I've been using since 1994, everyone else came recommended from them. They are seriously amazing, all you have to bring is the party.

Justin Fritz

Came for Sunday Brunch, place was empty around 11:30am. We were promptly served but food took almost 30 minutes with no one else in the restaurant. Food arrived cold, sent it back and entrees came out hot but sides were still barely warm. Overall food tasted good otherwise. Manager never came over to apologize or ask us about our experience. For the price point and quality of food we won’t be returning. Not a great experience for a first time customer.

S. Gregory

Absolutely love the shows performed here and the performers sounds much better than on the radio. Such and romantic setting. Differently a hidden gem.

A V

I totally enjoyed the entire experience. I read the negative reviews and was uneasy about my visit. However, I have a different opinion of the venue and service. The space is more than adequate and it's a music venue so I'm surprised with the comments on the tight seating. Once the music started, I didn't even think about the person across the table or next to me. Also, our service was excellent. Multiple servers stopped to greet our table. We played it safe and ordered flat bread and cocktails. We didn't have an issue with our check or unauthorized gratuity amounts. Great performance by Elton Dan and the Rocket Band.

Jason Moreland

We viewed a concert here. The intimate atmosphere is nice and and the audio is at a tolerable level rather than being overpowering.

Kezia Morrison

friendly professional staff the wine was superb i'm definitely returning soon one of the best experiences i have encountered the food was also delicious.

Yolanda Sipho

It was a very intimate setting. Very cozy. All seats were good seats. I saw Glenn Jones on tonight, and I really enjoyed myself. It started on time, and ended well within reasonable time limits. From 8 to 10:30. The pulled lamb and fries were tasty. The only thing I had a small problem with was that the tables are too close together. No room to move around at all. Other than that, it was amazing. I will be going back hopefully soon.

sharon pauls

Beware!!! My debit card was cloned!

M Reaves

We went for the Boy Named Banjo show. There’s not a bad seat in the house. Our VIP seating was a high top for two and was very good. Although I would have preferred a regular table. We ate elsewhere (a friend recommended it) be clause the menu is okay and the food is expensive. Our server was good and we really enjoyed the show. They have an exotic selection of wines at all price points.

Karonna Hosey

Perfect date spot! Live music was superb!

Shannon Gribble

My and my fiance were visiting friends in Atlanta and decided to give this place a shot... We were so glad that we did. Not knowing a ton abut wine, Jordan helped us and more so educated us. She is absolutely amazing and will tell you everything you want to know and make your expereince the best.

Joanie Joyner

Excellent atmosphere, good food. Very good show. Had a wonderful time.

Sina Safayi

Great food, great atmosphere, reasonable prices and welcoming staff.

Angelene Cook

City Winery has become one of my fav venues in Atlanta. The atmosphere is awesome! The selection of artists performing is just amazing. Such a great place. The wine tasting and assortment of events are exciting.

Cheryl Palmer

The place was very nice but the food was just not to my tastes.

Shane Sims

Absolutely loved this place. Amazing wines, incredibly accomodating and happy staff, and superb food. Loved, Loved, Loved. Must see!!!

HopkinsBowman

They need a wider wine selection, was very disappointed about the limited selection. The food was decent. Great date night venue.

Emily R

Cutest place in the west loop. Our waitress has exceptional knowledge on all of the wines and cheeses we tried. I really like the decor in here. Gives it a fun and hip vibe. My favorite was the West Loop Red.

Emily Fitzgerald

Amazing looking venue and restaurant. Great sound for music. Lots of good spaces for private events, business dinners, weddings, and holiday parties.

Tonya Baynes

Went to see Morgan James and the venue and atmosphere was great. I plan to attend other concerts there as well. It was a great show!

Brittany Brittany

Best wine in the city!

Dan Gray

Nice venue for live music.

Karly

Editing my review. Originally when I came , it was not the best experience, but no place is perfect all of the time. Jinda and Justin have gone above and beyond in making sure that we have a great experience. Thank you for your kindness, and valuing your customers.

DAVID VANCE

A small intimate venue. There really are no bad seats here. Great shows, plus they draw A list talent. Pro tip: eat dinner in the main restaurant upstairs NOT downstairs in the concert hall. The difference is night and day in terms of food, and timely service. All in all this probably one of ATL's hottest over 30 concert spots as of 2019.

Barry Grau

Some really good music in a small venue. The seating isn't ideal for a music venue--seats are jam-packed together in some places and many of them face away from the stage.

Yvonne Robinson

Enjoyed the Maysa concert tonight good sound but seating at tables very tight no room to move around and as for Maysa she can sing and what a performance

D'Antione Copeland

Beautiful venue and location but I strongly advise all guest to dine at other locations prior to attending. Party of 12 and everyone sent an entree or appetizer back. I ordered the calamari but was served strong fried onions. For my entree, I ordered the lobster fettuccine 2/5 and for dessert the peach sorbet. After one spoonful of the sorbet, I had to send the sorbet back. Guess I will head to EATS across the street and possibly Jeannies Ice Cream for a late night dessert.

Russ Bartlett

Great acoustics, great food, and great service! Entire staff are always VERY friendly and helpful, from the merch folks to the manager. Had a great time both times I've been there and hope to make it back! I strongly recommend this venue!

Dan Byrne

Venue is very nice. The service we had was iffy. Our server started out strong but vanished during the shows (opener and main). From where we were in the back we could see if he was servicing other tables. But he was nowhere to be seen. Then when he did appear, a table near us was visited twice before we were able to make eye contact to asked him to come over. It may have been off night for him.

Local Guide #141

Great venue. Service was poor. BYOB to get you through the 45 minutes to get a drink.

Aj CHATELLIER

Great entertainment

L Davis

Great concert venue but the bar needs to get it together. Every time we go, they either run out of some entrees but ALWAYS run out of a particular liquor. Always a problem with the bartender not knowing how to prepare a simple drink and running out of top shelf liquor choices. I know they specialize on wine but sometimes you just want a cocktail to close out the night.

Bill Cheatham

We have attended several shows at City Winery and unfortunately their food service remains an area of concern. We actually went early anticipating slow service. Upon our arrival we were told that they were short handed (our waitress was a no-show)... I guess this was just a warning. Our food did come out on a timely basis, but served without plates (flatbread & braised duck tacos). First of all the flatbread is a bland tomato based ”pizza”... not flatbread. Second the “tacos” were dry with paper thin mini tortillas. Both were served luke warm (the Duck was actually cold). We did finally get our plates after the pizza was served. This is a nice place for a show, but highly recommend eating at one of the many great restaurants in Ponce City Market beforehand.

Rachel Smirnov

I had one wonderful experience there, but tonight was unacceptable. Not only was out waitress rude, she also did not inform us that basically their whole menu was unavailable. They just changed their menu and sold out of all of their entrees in one afternoon, which I find crazy as the restaurant is almost always empty. After spending $70 on an appetizer and bottle of wine and an hour of waiting we left and went elseware. I am so disappointed and will not return. Be sure to check with your waiter and make sure there is food available for dinner.
