Interesting stop while in volcano country. Wines are unique and interesting and staff is knowledgeable. My best friend bought a bottle. It was our second visit (first time was 5 years ago) and they were a little less enticing than in our first visit. Good stop for those who enjoy wine or wanting to enjoy a piece of the local food and wine scene in Hawaii.

Great place to stop in. They serve a flight of all of there wines for an amazingly affordable $8. There are some really unique flavors here. The staff is very knowledgeable about their ingredients, sources and processes. Very unique wines. All were tasty, but some were particularly surprising in how they finish. This is worth the trip if you are even a casual wine consumer. Staff also had great dining recommendations for around the area.

2 years ago my husband came back to Texas from a business trip with a bottle of the Volcano Red - THE best wine I have ever tasted. When we decided to take a vacation to the Big Island there was no way I was going to miss the opportunity to visit the winery itself ... I was not disappointed. Knowledgeable, friendly staff, delicious tastes. LOVED our time there. If you like wine, this winery is a must!

We stopped by here on our honeymoon and had such a great time. We were the only people there at the time so we basically got a private tasting. The wine was amazing and we also got to try some of their mead! We flew home with a few bottles that we just couldn't live without.

The winery was a little difficult to find on maps, possibly due to a poor signal in this area. We were delightfully successful. The staff proved generous in our wine sampling. They offer a unique range of wine. We found selections to mail directly home. They delayed shipping to coincide with our arrival; our shipment arrived about two of our return. This is a nice excursion for adventurous tourists while visit the nearby national park.

I stumbled upon this winery in a magazine while waiting at the airport and am so glad I did. It was a great spot - such a nice way to cap off our time at the Volcano National Park. For only $10, you get a guided tasting of all 8 of their wines. They’re all pretty good and it was a fun hour spent. Some of their wine is sold at the ABC Stores in Waikiki Beach so we bought a bottle before leaving.

We have visited countless wineries in Northern California(our home state). Our experience at the Volcano Winery is definitely at or near the top of the list. Given their unique location we expected mostly a novelty experience. However, we were very pleasantly surprised! Our server Beth, was very knowledgeable, friendly, engaging and helpful. And, the wines were very good. We ordered a half case, and it was difficult to agree on which six bottles to choose, because of the many good options. If you visit the south end of the island - make time for the Volcano Winery. You won't be disappointed.

The experience is super cool! The wines are a bit young. But a few were quite delicious and it was cool. I thought the tea was outrageously expensive. The tasting was affordable and the wines were reasonable. The guy doing the tasting was fun and had a lot of good information to share. I am glad I went.

Great winery with some floats and samples for you to purchase. They also have some cheese platters and tea flights as well! Great staff with a lovey environment, would highly recommend stopping buy to learn about their winery and sample some wines. They have a range from dry to sweet desert wines. If you want to purchase you can buy and take with you or they also do ship!!

I'm a foodie & very picky. This place had the best bbq ribs & chicken that I've ever had in the country. Absolutely amazing. The coleslaw, macaroni salad & corn were very goid too. The wine was different & unique. Very good wine, but it was the food that sold me. Out of this world. I definitely want to know their secret. I've been to 3 different islands and this place was my favorite so far.

Visited 2/25/19 - It's a short jaunt off the main road, but a beautiful little store with an extremely reasonable sampling flight! All the wines I sampled were unique, not only from each other but from anything I have ever tasted before; the big surprise, however, was the best green tea I have EVER tasted! Well worth the visit - and they do ship their wines to ease your transport concerns.

You know that feeling when you find a wine that makes a great evening even better, well I didn't find it here. I purchased two reds and both were equally disapointing. Somewhere between Sunday service sacrament and Fruit Punch Malt Liquor, I peeled the label back assuming to uncover the Welches logo. The second star is for what I presume is a distinctive taste of Volcanic wines that people actually seek out. If that's the case and you like the lava juice, then this is the place for you. The real lesson here is, don't show up to a Vineyard and buy for the sake of novelty.

This is very unique winery with some very good and unique wines. Cute little showroom that is comfortable and relaxing. Staff are very knowledgeable as being friendly. It is a must stop to see this hidden gem if heading up to the volcano.

I bought "Macadamia nut honey wine" ... DON"T BUY THIS!!! This is not taste as a honey vine or anything nice - it taste as very cheap, whipped up made, medieval PPBV (Poorly Purified Bread Vodka). This Macadamia nut honey PPBV is also overpriced - $15 for 375ml tiny bottle. Yak... another lie on the advertisement.

Since you can only buy in the islands, you have to take some home! I'm lucky I live on Maui and they supply, but mainlanders, bring it back with you :)
