REVIEWS OF Montaluce Winery & Restaurant IN Georgia

I love Montaluce, it feels like I am back in Napa, but it's only an hour away from home here in Georgia! I have photographed multiple weddings here, and it is an absolutly beautiful venue for ceremonies and wedding receptions. The vineyard is amazing to shoot in when it is in season, and makes for a great location for engagement sessions, and there is wine as a reward when you are done!

Don Wilson

For wine tasting, the beautiful locale, setting and tasting room are certainly worth a visit and the basis for the 4 star rating... and the wines are certainly drinkable, but not yet on a par with California's productions.

Andrew Rodriguez

The location is bliss, the food is excellent, their Pinot Noir is to die for. Need I say more?

Charles Maddox

Really great place for a weekend get away. From the winery tour to five star quality food. It is a taste of Italy in the North Georgia mountains.

Rafael Zabala

Wow!!! I cannot believe that this is in Georgia! The food was phenomenal, the wine spectacular, excellent service. We look forward to coming back!

Kristen Szewczyk Edwards

Best place to brunch on a Sunday. Great options that are always changing and local. Cheese plates are a must. Rosata is our favorite and reasonable.

FELICIA PARKER

The wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The food, wine and ambiance was great and my companion was awesome! All of this made for a wonderful birthday surprise.

Eric Dixon

Our daughter was married at the Montaluce winery this weekend. Everything was superb. The venue was spectacular. The food was wonderful and the staff was extremely attentive. Our wedding coordinator Jessie was especially great. She covered every variable and handled the unexpected with calm and grace. Well done across the board, Eric

Beautiful building and grounds, well appointed. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Amazing food at every single course. They got a new chef a couple of months ago, who is turning out fantastic meals. I really can't recommend the place enough.

William H Spinks

Beautiful in many details, the winery operates a very fine venue for gatherings of weddings and other large celebrations. I expect they can handle smaller parties, too. Today, as we enjoyed the view from the upper deck, we took our turn in the queue at the single bar being worked by a single server. During our visit, she handled a throng of up to 35 people, alone. She should have had some help to provide capable hospitality. Food and wine are a bit pricey, ordinary. It is really beautiful, and private parties are likely amazing. Most guests there with us seemed more impressed than us by the food and wine

Joe M. Turner

Great location for a corporate luncheon. Scenic, tasteful, and I was greeted warmly by Emily as soon as I arrived on site. She answered my questions and got me situated immediately with professionalism and charm. Worth the trek.

Erlyn Bracknell

Best buratta I ever had,, beautiful view,, friendly staff.wide selections of wine..

Hayden Banks

My husband and I took my mother here for her birthday. We both work in the Atlanta restaurant community. Everyone had a terrible experience. The food either had small portions for the price or was overly salty or contained too much sugar. Tried to order more wine to make the experience better but our server was never in sight. My sister had a bug in her food (she’s pregnant). We had a wasp flying behind her at one point in November. We will not be coming back.

Exploring the area for work, we stopped in for lunch. As you enter, the wall that houses the wine is beautiful. The bottles are on their side but against the wall, versus in the wall. Walking in, to then see the vineyard beyond the glass window, they had me! I enjoyed the cheese with greek honey, and it was fantastic. The perfect size serving of cheese. Not to be outdone too much, but the appetizer I had was watermelon with a chocolate balsamic sauce, over cucumber slices, with small crumbles of cheese, and a scoop of Cantaloupe Sherbert. It was TOO die for on every account. The watermelon was in cubes and the presentation was amazing. Hopefully will remember to post a pic soon of it! Wines, wines, wines! For $4, I enjoyed a glass of their Dolce wine. It was sweet but lighter then a Riesling. Very flavorful and served at the perfect temperature. My main was a pulled beef sandwich. Note to self, better without the onions and eat it with a fork. No time for dessert because we had one hour to eat. Our server was ON TOP OF IT, we told her we had 1 hour and she had us out on the dot. Checked in on foursquare and received a bottle of wine! Buy wine in bulk at their wine shop and get 10% off, I stocked up to fill up my wine fridge. I look forward to returning, enjoying the breeze and view.

So happy our tasting was free. The staff was rude from the moment we walked in. Uninviting to say the least. Bartender's description of wine...."this one is going to be really dark". All of the people and wine were bland and completely unsatisfying... I wont return ...EVER.

Leslie Roytek

We were told that we had to wait to be served one glass of wine and that there was a wedding so no one in our group could get a drink for more than an hour. They directed us to an outdoor patio then removed us saying that the wedding party was not ok with us there. They should close on wedding days if they are unable to accommodate customers. Worst experience I have ever had at a winery.

Tom Moss

The service was great, the wines were very good, and the atmosphere was fantastic

Jeff Smith

Great view, good service, but that's where the positives end. The table started with a white and red flight to see what bottle they wanted. I drank beer, but the rest of the group had to have sprite to make spritzers out of the wine to make it bearable. The Seabass was a hit, the fillet was tasty, but looked to be about 4oz, so very small. The pork belly was inedible. Looked to be quickly seared, so none of he fat had rendered at all. Worst pork belly I have ever tried.

Patrick was a great guide on our hike around the property. The hike was gorgeous, but a little more strenuous than the website described it. I would say medium difficulty rather than easy/beginner. The path was very rocky, and there were places you had to walk on rocks through water or jump over water, and there were several steep ascents. Definitely a nice hike, but just wanted to prepare people for the real level of the hike.

FairytaleVideobiz

Stop by for the wine tasting it was very nice. The place looks beautiful. Chef inspired menu food was delicious view was great, service was excellent I will be back. The Cabernet was excellent hint hint.

I hope everyone gets to experience what we did here. Started with another interesting Google maps direction, sent us up one of the service roads to get to the winery/restaurant and what a sight. Mesmerized by the architecture we enter and are greeted right away. We first start with a "Flight" as the tastings are called and we're taught how to taste wine, an interesting tasting as our host was very chatty and personable, later we find out he is the owner. We are lead through the balcony and learn some of the how tos of growing grapes as we gaze across the vineyard. We next are seated in the dinning area with a view of the vines and landscape. Our waiter arrives with a menu and proceeds at setting the mood for our venture of hearty dishes, each a unique creation of the Chefs and we find a perfect dish for each of us and my what a superb taste and perfect paring of wine suggested by our waiter Gary who also was very knowledgeable and personable, like an old friend. So as its my birthday I'm am surprised at my dessert of a huge chocolate chip cookie, prepared and cooked in the bowl, topped with homemade vanilla ice cream and whipped cream and drizzled with a pure heavenly chocolate sauce, you have to try this with the owners own crafted blended coffee, smooth, flavorful and a nice kick at the end so you remember you are drinking coffee. We took a nice stroll on the balcony with our coffee and relaxed as we watched the sunset. As we tie up our night we take a nice guided tour of the wine room, from pickings to barrel, Matthew tells us the steps to create his exquisite wine, some of the best we've tasted, and wraps up our night with a tid bit of info, the best time to come is through the week and their menu is seasonal, his Chef is able to use the seasons veggie and fruits to prepare the dishes so they change, which creates something different if you venture this way again, as I will. This trip was very interesting and pleasant and I felt like I was a friend not just a guest. I highly recommend and hope to take another "Flight" soon.

Felipe Cochi

Great place for wine tasting, great options. The presentation of the food is fabulous, but the portions are very small. The view from the deck is beautiful, more so during sunset. There's also an upper deck with comfortable chairs to enjoy the view.

tippi reid

Fabulous decor and ambience. Very disappointing when you have over a certain number of ppl in a party which was 8, you get a shorter and less desirable menu option. Never warned in advance, eventhough reservation was made. The bigger the party the less choices you have on a menu to choose from, which makes no sense. Shocking a party of 8 will not get the same menu opts as a party of two and it's less options. smh But most shocking the food was horrible and flavorless. A top notch chef can cook the same food whether it's two in a party, eight or ten. If you are a lover of great food & wine don't waste your time and drive, your palate is going to be very disappointed. It's no way close or in the same league as the great food and wines of Napa, CA and surrounding vineyards. It's not for well traveled palates and connoisseurs of great wines.

Just attended a wedding here and while the building and grounds were nice, there were a number of issues with the ceremony and reception. The food was very good, however. Ceremony: - The walk down to the outdoor ceremony site started as an uneven, steep gravel road and progressed to an even steeper grassy bank. Many people had trouble waking to the wooden seats and the elderly were especially challenged. There were no groomsman there to assist (possibly a decision by the bride) so guests took turns helping people to their seats. - The area had rain about an hour before the ceremony and the wooden chairs were covered in water. Several guests went up to the main building to get towels and we had to wipe all of the chairs down ourselves. - The chairs were all on placed on a non-graded hill and we felt like we would slide off the seats at any moment. Most of us had to place a foot on the chair in front of us to stay in our seat. - The ceremony didn't have speakers or microphones and it was difficult to hear the officiant, the bride and groom, and the other speakers. Reception (a preset menu with assigned tables): - The wait staff cleared the salad course from all the tables at the same time but the entree was not ready. Most tables waited 20-30 minutes for the entrees to be delivered with no other food available (bread baskets were empty and not refilled). - Wine and beer were abundant but non-alcoholic beverages were not offered readily. That could have been a decision by the bride, but most attendees didn't know if any options other than water were available until the end of the night when the wait staff were asked specifically. - After dinner the guests were - forcibly - asked to move from the dining room to the deck for music and dancing. There were no chairs on the deck so many people - specifically those with limited mobility - wanted to stay were they could sit. Things became very awkward when the wait staff insisted people move to the deck and people were not interested or willing to move. - The wait staff mutilated the cake when cutting it. Instead of starting on the top tier and cutting long, deep pieces (with icing on every slice) the staff started on the bottom tier and cut wide, shallow pieces around the entire tier. They then did the same to the other tiers. This left most pieces of cake without any icing because all the icing was on the outside pieces.

My wife and I celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary here tonight. Chris, the executive chef, took great care to make us our own vegan menu (I called a few days ahead to see if it was possible) and he included some great personal touches to make the evening extra special. The food, wine, service, atmosphere and views were exceptional and worth every penny. I highly recommend Montaluce Winery for a great meal and special memories. Thank you Chris and team.

Chris Boswell

The steak was delicious and so was the salmon. I'm a fan of their signature blend wine. I would have taken home a bottle if it wasn't almost a hundred bucks a bottle.

Allison Milford

As always superb!! Love this place my dream is to live here one day!! We love Montaluce the food and wine is amazing! Service is always great!!

Ken Davidson

Amazing place, great wines, awesome food and the service is 5 Star

Liz Ryan

The views and scenery are stunning. The food is good and the service was as well. I’m from California and used to beautiful views. I didn’t expect this place to be as beautiful as it is. Hidden gem for sure.

Cory

Wonderful, relaxing, and friendly! My family and I went on a Friday. We took advantage of the FREE tour on how the wine is made. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. We then sat on the patio and enjoy the beautiful view while sippping on a glass of wine with friendly conversion. Thanks for the pleasant memory.

Shelley Sellars-Smith

Beautiful day trip. Recommend the Sunday Brunch. The grounds make you feel like you are in Tuscany. The negative comments here might be justified regarding service. The Service from the folks that work there is indicative of the area (Dahlonega) You will get the same type of service at The Smith house or any one of the local restaurants. They are local folks. I am sure if the owners could import better help they would. The winery is young. Give them some time and that will improve. I, unlike others who left bad reviews am leaving 5 stars to cancel out some of the 1 stars. This place probably deserves a solid 3 stars for service. 5 star for food (expensive but, top quality and very creative. All organic. That alone deserves 5 stars) The atmosphere is 5 star plus. Go with friends and bring along one of your pushy "get it done" types and you will have a great time!

Denna McCartney

Appetizers were great. They were not prepared for all the people and were running out of food and even silverware to eat with.

Bryan Gresham

Excellent Service, excellent Food, excellent wine. Tour guide was very thorough and very nice.

Gareth Genner

James Bear acclaimed modern-South food in the Mountains. World quality views, great service. You are transported to Tuscany. Just go there!!!

Joyce Ghu

I invited my close friends to this restaurant, expecting an excellent food and service. Appetizer was good. The main entrees were bad, to say the least. All three dishes we ordered (shrimp, hamburger and black fish) were sooooo salty and covered with heavy seasoning. Yes for wine and the scenery. Not for food.

april joy

Very dissapointed at are second lunch experience at the quality of food. The beef sandwich was burnt to a crisp and the lobster tail was dry. When I called to speak to a manager I was told several times they were unavailable

I visited Montaluce Winery for a wedding reception (approximately 200 guests). The staff was running behind schedule setting up the venue, so initially it felt a bit frantic, but after it was set up the venue was beautiful, the food (filet and salmon) was delicious, and the meal service was great. Also, it was a foggy, muggy day and even still the view of the vineyards was picturesque. And the porch made for an excellent dance floor. I tried three or four of the wines and they were all very enjoyable. The only negative experience I had was their gin martini. It was truly the worst martini I have ever had in my life. The Montaluce gin martini worse even worse than the gin martini I ordered at a dirt-neck college bar in Troy, Alabama in the summer of 2003. However, I will accept partial blame for the bad martini because only a jackass would go to a winery and order a martini. All in all - an enjoyable evening and a great place for a wedding reception.

Diane Civin

The service was less than good. They were busy and under staffed. Otherwise, the ambiance was lovely.

Krista Carroll

The hospitality staff were so educated on the wine selection. I described the taste I wanted and the bartender picked the perfect selection. I was there for a wedding ceremony and would strongly suggest to all newly engaged couples to use their facilities. No rushing and the service was spectacular!!! I loved the music too. Actual musicians, playing beautiful instruments. Definitely a place to visit even when there isn't a wedding.

Joshua Walton

Where do I begin?! This is a little Tuscany gem hidden in the foothills of Dahlonega. The service, both the complementary valet workers and the waiter, were exceptionally polite and gave great suggestions for us on our first visit here. We were here celebrating Father's Day and had 2 little ones that the staff were great with. We came on a Sunday and got to enjoy their Brunch Menu. The cinnamon rolls are amazing and the salmon was so flavorful and juicy. We can't wait to come back here!

Boris Vinnik

Phenomenal. Very nice settings reinforced by very nice sitting, extremely talented chef, good, drinkable and flavorful local wine, and really superb menu. We been here for many times and it's phenomenal as I said. I'm upscale customer with VERY extensive gastronomic experience. This place also the most romantic. I'm looking forward to go there again.

Carol Jankowski

Wines and food were expensive, but the decor was beautiful.

Marilyn Sanchez-Osorio, Esq.

Breathtaking! Just an idyllic place to spend a day with your favorite person... The food was amazing as well. It is the closest I have ever gotten to Italy while in the mountians of Georgia!!! Very strange to think this paradise is nestled right in the mountains between Georgia and South Carolina. It's a true gem.

The Yoga Chick

My husband and I did a hike here and it was great. After the beautiful hike. We were able to taste 5 different wines. In addition to the wine tasting, we purchased a delicious flatbread and baked potato soup. Danny, our guide, was nothing short of outstanding. He was knowledgeable, nice, and he posed excellent customer service. He made it a great day. I was very pleased with the entire day from start to finish.

David Jordan

When you’re looking for fine dining or a memorable location to celebrate a special event, this is your place. One of the most picturesque locations in a county with plenty of beautiful vistas, Montaluce also boasts a lovely facility you won’t soon forget. Several delicious entrees to choose from (we love the salmon and the beef tri-tip), and the local wines are superb. The service is exquisite, and the servers are unbelievably attentive, polite, and engaging. This is the sort of place that exquisite dining memories are made.

Linda Foley

Beautiful scenery! Excellent food, but I wish their menu was a little more extensive. They had large parties they were waiting on so the food took awhile to get to us, but the waiter always updated us.

Elizabeth Ledda

The setting is beautiful, the food however was nothing to brag about. My sister and I went for lunch and she ordered the BLT and the bread was so crumbly that she couldn't pick it up. The pricy meat and cheese appetizer was a great disappointment. Tiny servings and not the best quality. Nothing like you would get in Italy. I was so excited to go, hoping I could find a nice place to show my Italian Sommelier husband that we Georgians do have some nice places here that might remind him of his home in northern Italy.

Julie Feicht

Beautiful atmosphere! Friendly staff! And the food is soooo good! Seriously, so delicious! Pretty expensive though, so be prepared.

KIM WADE

Perfect Wedding!! That would sum it up, absolutely perfect. Katie is a doll. She was there every step of the way. My daughter was married at Montaluce on March 17, 2017. The venue is gorgeous. I would recommend Montaluce to everyone. If we have any other special occasions I will without a doubt reserve the vineyard again.

Chance Caulder

Excellent place to visit. The food and wine was exceptional. I would 100% recommend.

Brian Trembley

Amazing views especially from the top patio. The wines, plating and atmosphere were all very good. And the service was also good. The charcuterie appetizer was excellent. Nothing left on that plate! Others at my table were happy with their salads. My main course was okay but for the price I expected better. Dessert was the same. I was not impressed. If I had a solid recommendation on a better main course I would happily return. Or I'd just stick to the appetizers.

Pamela Sauls

Tasting room fun, but crowded/busy- once seated on balcony appetizer potato pierogie was FANTASTIC

David D.

Incredible atmosphere with soothing and calm surroundings. Delicious wine and very tasty Farm to Table real food. Loved it ...

Chelsea Thomason

Don’t be alarmed if you don’t see this review on the knot...BECAUSE THE KNOT DELETED IT. My husband and our friend who was also a guest this wedding both wrote reviews and they both have been deleted. I am appalled. I thoroughly believed that rights could be wronged at this venue. It was gorgeous. Food was great. Shelby, the wedding planner, was amazing. I can’t believe that THIS VENUE (NOT Shelby - again, she’s amazing) didn’t know their own WEATHER at a VINEYARD. I’m not talking rain, I’m talking basic outdoor temperature and time of the sun setting...you know...something available in every almanac since the 1800s. Montaluce vineyards gave our best friends (the married couple) no money back (when they paid for five extra invites that did not show, and ACTUALLY CHARGED for an extra invite that did show...?)aaaaand The photographer had to bring up the fact that the sun set earlier due to the time change, and the venue had NO IDEA THAT THAT WAS A THING. Did the venue know about daylight savings time at all??? NO WAS IT STILL FULL PRICE? YES Were there other options given? Yes. Did those other options have lighting? Yes. Did the bride and groom know that their ceremony option did NOT have ANY lighting option? ...NO THEY WERE GIVEN NO EXTRA LIGHTING OPTION... IN A SUNSET WEDDING THAT WAS ONE HOUR LATE due to the venue’s own ignorance. The only reason they knew this was happening is because of their out of town photographer...so everyone at the venue scrambled to make this ceremony happen earlier THE DAY BEFORE. I was sad for them after the event because of all of the grief the venue gave them, but two months later, I realized the impact that the ignorance this venue had on their forever moments after watching their wedding video. Their ceremony WAS NOT LIT AT ALL Seriously. It’s one of this venue’s main ceremony locations, and it WAS NOT LIT. Which automatically made “good” food “fine” and “good” service “okay” and overall attention, consideration, and service to the bride and groom “absolutely atrocious.” I understand the pressure that this type of venue can be under...but these basic ideas are just that...basic. From sun up to sun down, this venue was a disappointment. Plain and simple.

Hostile manager, upsetting service, low-end food, and a scary end of evening. We were a group of women friends who went to dinner there, and we left almost 4 (!?!) hours later seriously disturbed and concerned about our safety. Other groups arrived well after us and left way before. The waiter was smug and condescending; he talked to us like we couldn't afford it (we're all professional women with successful careers). We weren't asked for our wine orders for a good 45 minutes, and the guest of honor didn't get her first (and only) glass of wine for 2 hours, well after everyone else was served. We were served in tasting glasses, because well "we've run out of glasses." Huh?? One friend was given a chipped wine glass. When she brought to the waiter's attention, he didn't apologize or replace it. He just said, "oh, you just wanted to let me know..." Again, huh?? The same friend was served coffee in a cup with a dark stripe of lipstick on the inside of the cup. The food was not good--the pasta was gloppy, the soup was cold...you get the picture. We were polite and cheerful through the whole dinner. But when we tried to talk to the manager, he got scary-angry and confrontational and told us we were the problem. We were the only group (again--all women, some of us were black and brown) left in the dining room, and started to feel concerned for our well-being, given his anger and hostility. We wanted to leave but had to wait a long while for the bill (even after requesting it). Horrific experience. Save yourself a terrible time and a lot of money. Go to Wolf Mountain instead--the wine is much better and the staff is really nice.

Lara Carswell

A little pricey, especially for the lack of service. Every time we needed our next tasting they it would take forever to find our waiter. SPLIT A TASTING - they give you as much if not more if you split with a friend.

A G

Wine was good but food and service was awful.

Alicia Barber

My friends and i have been to Monteluce for a girls day for several years now. We always enjoy a wine tasting and then lunch or brunch. I had the grilled cheese and roasted tomato soup. The grilled cheese had a light drizzle of honey and the sweetness paired well with the savory taste of the soup. They also have mimosas, so how can I complain?

Justin Von Behren

Very good wine. Menu is mostly light snacks.

Tiffany Talbott

Food was excellent. Atmosphere was great.... Very enjoyable winery!

Joan Nyaboke

Great atmosphere, amazing views of the vineyards, tasty food and wine.

Cleftonefan

Beautiful restaurant, breathtaking view, terrific food, attentive servers. Several reasonably priced wines, especially when priced by the glass. Sorry we didn't stay long enough to taste the irish coffee doughnuts. Just read about them. Would be a great location for a wedding or any affair.

Teresa Gay

Beautiful location and fabulous food and service!

Tanya Sattelmeier

Beautiful venue.

Amy Eck

Wonderful!!! Have been visiting this area for the last 20 years and THE BEST place I have been to. Wine was amazing, view was beautiful, and indoor and outdoor seating for the restaurant. Food was so GOOD!! Fresh, gluten and dairy free options. Everyone loved it. COME!!!

Sam Guerry

Absolutely the best Brunch menu in a stunning vineyard and a vista view from any table in the restaurant...well worth the trip!!

Bruce Snyder

Excellent service, excellent food, wonderful experience. It was a pleasant lunch that was the very best.

Scott Shepard

We had a great time and enjoyed some very good wine and had a great Anniversary dinner overlooking the vineyards. It did get really hot once the sun hit us outside and had to move inside. The steaks were delicious, cooked perfectly and they got us a nice cookie cake dessert that was warm with ice cream on top. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating us wanting to move, it would have been nice if they had warned us how hot it would get when the sun hit us, otherwise a great time and I’m sure we’ll visit again next time we’re in the area.

DJ Fiore

From the moment you drive into this amazing place you are treated very well. My daughter and I stopped in on a recent visit. An amazing tasting room with a massive fireplace. The views from the veranda and dining room are amazing. We did a sampling of red wines and we also ordered the hummus appetizer, excellent. Hint, you have to try the Shiraz.

William Smith

We stopped for a wine tasting and couldn't get waited on which was surprising as they were not busy. The people working there totally ignored us so we left. Didn't have this problem at any of the other wineries in the area.

Elaine Lloyd

Great food, great service! Fun, friendly staff!

Kristine Gressly

The staff were lovely and helpful, and the food and wine were amazing! The entire property is beautiful and it was the perfect way to spend our 2 year wedding anniversary.

Michael Fisher

When we drove up to Monteluce we felt like we were transported to Italy. It was beautiful. We went inside and continued our fantasy. We were shown to our table on the second floor and had a beautiful view as the sun continued to set. The room, while very nice was not special but it was not boring either. Sound levels were pleasant. Our Waiter was very pleasant, responsive and helpful. They have a limited food and wine menu. I am guessing the food changes daily. They were busy but not crazy. We arrived at 7:30pm. We ordered a glass of wine each, a salad, and appetizer, as well as a Filet and their signature meatloaf entrees. Here is where things fell apart. The Filet was overcooked and kind of mushy like it was over tenderized. The Meatloaf, while good, was nothing special. It was my birthday and the chocolate dessert was good but not creative. We kept thinking this was supposed t be a return to Italy for us but sadly it was not. No amazing mushrooms, no creative sauces, no wonderful vegetables. At $30 plus per entrée, it was not worth the meal. They have been here for at least 8 years and do not seem to know what they are, or maybe my expectations were far too great. But a $75 per person meal should be great and memorable regardless. The chef plays it safe and provides nothing of interest. I mean Lobster Mac and Cheese? Really? Does not matter how good it is but it is old and tired. If you ever have seen the movie, Chef, this situation reminds me of that movie. Great people doing mediocre work. I don’t mind spending the money but I expected much more. Until they fix it we will not be back. Very Sad!!!

Jerica Fitts

Our server Mike was fantastic! Very knowledgeable of the menu items and also funny. The restaurant itself had a nice quiet atmosphere. We ordered the tomahawk ribeye for 2

Brian Harvey

Great view, great wine, great food. Not inexpensive but of the three wineries we went to it by far has the best wine. Food was great too.

Rob Flanigan

Great experience! Very tasty wines and food. Staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. Beautiful scenery around the vineyard.

John Edington

Had a great experience. Loved the tasting.

Alejandro Torres

Beautiful view of the vineyard from the deck of the restaurant -- dinner was also incredible (try the pork chop)

E jones

3 hour dinner. Service so poor that we had to seek out and ask for even the most common items such as salt and pepper. (They were moving them around the room, table to table, only after being requested) After we realized that we weren't going to receive bread, as others had, we asked and were given a flimsy excuse that it would be later. A few minutes after that, another server came and took our bread plates!? Then, about twenty minutes later, they brought one very small roll for each of us. Since we didn't have plates, we ate the bread off the paper towel. Food, when finally delivered, was extremely salty rendering some items not edible. Portions were very small, especially the meat items which were not large enough to consider a meal. No one asked how it was going, no one cared. It was as we were a nuisance for being there. This restaurant is poorly managed and operates on a facade. Cook staff needs many lessons in food prep and planning. The wait staff is understaffed and you can't deliver what's not available. (We were actually told that by our server) The kitchen needs cooks with much more experience. All effort is on presentation without regards to size, taste, or condiments. Beware of this restaurant. Expensive, and if you have any standards of quality, you will regret the long trip to this restaurant. Parking lot is dangerously dark with hidden hazards. There are no exterior lights at all beyond the main entrance. So, if you must go, bring a flashlight for everyone. But, better advice is to go somewhere else. You'll be much happier and richer.

Stacy Hudson

We made reservations a couple of months ago for a birthday dinner. There are 3 of celebrating Oct. birthdays visiting for the weekend (and I indicated that on the form I was sent prior to our reservation). We got a call in the afternoon the day of that there was a construction project in the main dining room that was delayed & that dinner would be served in the wine production room. I called to make sure they were still doing tastings (we were told they were) & since it was our first visit, we didn't know the difference regarding the dining location. We arrived & it turns out that a rehearsal dinner had been moved indoors to the dining room due to the weather & that's why we were being served in a different area. Obviously that was fine but I didn't get why the person who called made up a story. We could not do a tasting before dinner as planned because there was only a very tiny bar set up in the very dark production room (we needed our phone flashlights to see the menu even though there appeared to be overhead lights) with nowhere to sit & there was no room to do the tasting comfortably. Dinner was fine & our server was very nice. However, given that we spent a few hundred dollars that evening & also told our server we were celebrating our birthdays (when he asked), we weren't even given a dessert to share. A small thing but why bother asking twice if we were celebrating an occasion? They were obviously scrambling to deal with a situation & everyone was very nice but I don't know if I'd go back.

We held a business dinner for approximately 50 people at Montaluce on a Sunday evening. The food was excellent and the staff was attentive and patient. We enjoyed a private tour of the fermentation room and then went upstairs to our private room for our business presentation and dinner. Beautiful venue with excellent service and food!

Welcome to Montaluce Vineyards, Georgia’s best kept secret to experience the feel of Italy inspired Tuscan wine experience. Wine, dine, and spend the day basking in the beauty of this incredible slice of heaven in the north Georgia mountains.

Lame & completely incompetent. They scheduled my friend’s wedding after sunset. The wedding had to be stopped and everyone was asked to use their phones to provide light. I mean there was a huge tree there!!! No lighting? From what I heard not cheap and I even caught wind they added extra charges for a couple of added guests even though their guest list had several people unable to make it. Like what? Empty seats get easily filled. Pure business of wedding venue and they don’t care about your big day they just want the money.

Christine Flaherty

We were there last fall on a gorgeous sunny day. We had a reservation and when we got there the hostess graciously gave us an option of eating inside or outside. We chose outside and were treated to a front row view of the beautiful vineyards. It was lovely and the food was delicious. The offerings were very creative and artfully presented. The portions might be considered small by some, but I would much prefer modest size and delicious, than large and so-so. The service was very good without being overbearing. My husband and I enjoyed it so much we just made a reservation to have lunch there for our anniversary this week.

Lauren Harris

The setting is absolutely gorgeous. However, The service is horrendous. I truly felt like I was a nuisance being a patron at their wine tasting and dinner. It took 45 minutes to receive our cheese plate and another hour and a half to receive our entrées. The sad thing is that our initial server was the manager. Once it was served, all they did was cover it In soy sauce. Completely inedible. The only redeeming factor is that the setting is gorgeous and the wine is good. There is obviously a serious management and staffing issue.

Enrique H.

Good wines and cheese! Excellent customer service! Good views and vibes! We all had a good time!

Cindy Mayfield

Wonderful food. Great service! Beautiful landscape views of vineyard.

Michael Sokolov

A little bit pricey for what you get. But the service is superb!

We visited this winery on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. It was difficult to find, but when we finally found it it was beautiful. We were not greeted by anyone when we entered, or when we approached the bar. It was as though we were invisible. When we finally were able to get someone's attention, she informed us that there was no seating in the restaurant, the kitchen was closed, and there were no appetizers available. She left and we had to wait on another person to take our order. This took approximately half an hour. We were told where to sit and where we couldn't sit. We were warned multiple times, not to sit on the cushioned chairs on the patio. We ordered a flight of red wine, found a place to sit, and then found they hadn't placed our order, so we had to order our flight again, which took another 15 minutes at least. When they delivered our wine he told us that since we didn't make reservations we couldn't order cheese and crackers to go with our wine, even though other people sitting next to us were getting food. This waiter had a, "No soup for you" attitude and was noticed by another couple sitting next to us. As they left, they came over and commented about how bad the service was for them and thought it was a beautiful place, but too snooty. They told us about some other wineries in the area and how warm and wonderful the people were. We enjoyed the wines we tasted, but didn't feel there was enough difference between them to make the flight interesting to taste. We tried to order another glass of wine of our pick from the flight and were told that we couldn't order any. Short review: Enjoy the drive, go into the facility and walk around, make sure and use the restrooms (worth seeing), and go visit the other wineries in the area.

Darrell Grose

A beautiful place and a great time today with my charming wife .

Kara Harris

My husband and I visited Montaluce on a Wednesday afternoon. It was absolutely wonderful. Amanda was the bartender. She was full of energy and had so much knowledge about the wine and property. We will absolutely be back! Tip-- If you are planning to visit on a weekend make a reservation. They get busy and do lots of weddings.

This very bold development started several years ago and was riddled by the housing bubble and recession in 2008. Montaluce is a Tuscan themed development near Dahlonega and at the center of it resides the Montaluce vinery with its own vineyard and wine production. It is a beautiful place especially for special events like weddings and other social gatherings. The restaurant quality changed a lot over the years and now created a dining menu, nothing too fancy but very tasty. The international wine selection is excellent since Montaluce served wine from the very beginning before they even raked in the first harvest of their own grapes. It is a tip place to hang out for a romantic lunch, dinner or brunch.

I visited Montaluce Winery twice. During 1st trip, thoroughly enjoyed Dining at their restaurant, quality of Wines and 20-30 minutes trip of Winery. Second visit was done on Veterans day with prior booking. Service at restaurant was not good at all. There food and the Wine quality are great but service just left a bad experience. Would recommend to make restaurant bookings in advance for the convenience and pick a relatively less busier day or weekend.

Tom B

Awesome winery!

Daina Durham

Wine tasting was great, Abigail was wonderful!

Steve Edwards

4.5 .Most beautiful Winery in Georgia. Nice wine flights. Beautiful views. A little disappointed in the wines. I would still come back.

GEORGENE BARRINGER

Gorgeous setting and ambience. Friendly staff, and of course great wine. We enjoyed lunch on the veranda. Take pictures.

Stole my money and horrible customer service! My husband and I are planning our wedding anniversary trip to visit the wineries upstate Georgia. I booked a wine hike at Montaluce for a whopping $90 for a Sunday. The next day my husband told me we would have to leave a day early..... on Sunday because one of his workers mothers passed he needed to fill in for him that Monday. I immediately called to ask to cancel as there was NO policy when you book online. A young lady answered and told me that she would have to talk to her manager - a and she would have him call me. No call. I wen tot Paypal which how I booked and the email listed there is bad, so I called the winery again. This time I spoke with Matt or Mike (not sure which it was) who not only was rude and sarcastic to me, he told me that he had no idea how to refund my money because Paypal was so difficult but could give me a credit. I explained to him that wouldn't work because we were there only on vacation and live far away. He said he'd check into it and call me back. He didn't. I called again and left a message and he still has not called me back. I highly caution anyone that wants to spend money here and if you do, don't book it online!

As the coordinator for a newly formed travel club, I wanted to provide one really special meal for our travelers. I was so lucky to find Montaluce Winery, and then have Kara Mitchell to help me select just the perfect meal and dining experience for our travelers. I wish she had been able to hear all of the wonderful compliments I received as we traveled home after a long day of sightseeing. As it is located quite a way off from the highway I called several times to be sure we were traveling the right directions. Each call produced helpful suggestions to confirm our route. We were met at the door, directed to our tour, and then assisted with our wine tasting and meal with a most professional staff who answered the many questions about how they perfected each version of their wine, harvested their grapes, and grew their own vegetables. Questions lasted throughout the meal. Thank you Montaluce for providing such a great experience for the best meal enjoyed during our 4 day visit to your north GA mountains.

Deneen Denney

The atmosphere was nice the Scenery was absolutely beautiful. Food was really good, our server overheard we had a birthday girl and she brought out this Cookie dessert it was off the chain! The wine was good. My 1st time going to a winery and Plan to go back.

Kristy Laser

A beautiful setting for a girls/Mama’s day getaway! I had the White Wine flight to start and loved each one. We started out with a couple of different bartenders who really didn’t seem super interested in helping us. Then we found Amanda and she was amazing. She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the wines and seemed to really like her job! Definitely look for her!! We moved on to lunch upstairs and everything was delicious and waiters were very hospitable! A beautiful view! I would definitely recommend stopping in!

Zack Sosebee

First and foremost, the wine was good. Service was not organized (ordered 4 bottles of wine that took 20+ minutes for a large group, 15+). They put food orders in at the same time and delayed a long time before the wine. Food is ok but portions are small for $30. Would be better if they used the right size plates. They have MASSIVE plates and put the food over in the corner, making you think the portions are even smaller. Food quality is good but not on par at $30. Good for $20.

Crystal Turner

Absolutely enjoyed our visit today! Food was wonderful. Everyone was kind and hospitable. Emily was on top of her game. Mr. Bill came by to make sure we were enjoying our food and we learned a lot on the tour with him. Enjoyed speaking with Jasmine in the gift shop. Happy with our purchase. Overall experience was an A+!! I got a little concerned after reading some of the negative reviews and even tried to book a reservation at another winery. I am glad that I wasn't able to...because I would have missed out on all that Montaluce has to offer. We will be back!!!

Chuck Di

First time. Loved the wine tasting. Had dinner that was very good . Will come back again. Our group thoroughly enjoyed the place. Nicely decorated for the holidays.

Lynn Keene

Great wine, great service, beautiful views!!

Ra Hughes

No service and no servers

Adam Major

Had a great tasting and the views are amazing. Brought home some wine and got some amazing pictures. Will return for sure

Trish Kowalewski

We went to the Montaluce Winery for brunch. Everything was delicious. Cinnamon buns were fresh out of the oven and out of this world. They accommodated our children's requests which always makes for a better experience. The view was beautiful. They also give complimentary tours of the winery. Worth the trip.

Andrea Millonig

This was an incredible adventure. The structures are beautiful, the food is incredible and the wine is delightful. I really enjoyed participating in the wine tasting.

dan patterson

Kitchen had a computer mishap and lost our order. The service team brought out tapas snacks to keep us happy while the kitchen went the extra mile on our entree’s, one bite was all it took to forget the wait. Very welcoming restaurant, great staff, great wines, and great food. Recommended!

Jason Hardman

Great view and perfect presentation. The local fare is refreshing. Worth the price. The local cheese was amazing. The salmon was done very well. The server was friendly but not intrusive. Great experience.

Kate Tsai

Am In LOVE with this winery, it’s like a little Italian winery that is hidden between Dahlonega & Cleveland only thing lacking would be the destination charger for EVs. Hehe... we really enjoy the scenery, food & wines here. LoVE the Dolce & Seyval Blanc here, coffee is strong and flavorful as well. We’ll come back for the wine hike one of these days soon!! Oh, just found out there is 3 Tesla chargers and one EV charger on the front left of the building. SWEET!!! It would be helpful to include the info on google map tho.

Whitney Garrett Smith

We had a great experience using Montaluce as the venue for our rehearsal dinner and wedding. Katie Gayler was very accessible by email to address any questions we had during the wedding planning process. On the day of the wedding, Jessie Caudill did a fantastic job coordinating all of the vendors and wedding party. Our guests loved the beautiful venue and complimented the style and efficiency of the service!

Nanci Lamborn

Not busy at all midweek mid Dec. More attention for us. Food is excellent. Take the server's suggestions. Def worth the drive.

keri babcock

Beautiful place. Food is always great, menus change. Wine is on the more expensive side.

Patty Procopio

Went with party of 8 for Sun. brunch. Wanted 12:00, but they said they had a "large party" coming at 12:30, so we went at 11:30. Did not have the table set up, which you would think they would do expecting a party to arrive Waited 10 minutes to be seated. Drinks served, food ordered, took over 30 minutes to get food. Was very disappointed in all the meals. I had French toast, which was very dry & over cooked. When you use Texas style bread you need to soak it to absorb egg mix. Three people had trout, which none made a comment that it was good. Chicken dish was lukewarm, not much flavor. The plate looked empty because chicken was on top of bean mix & left the other 1/2 of plate empty. Presentation of food was not good, small portions on large plates. I would expect Montaluce to have a quality chef who knows how to cook & present food. Overall not a good experience & will not go back. The restaurant is beautiful &'scenery lovely, but need to improve food.

Ryan Timberlake

Beautiful winery, great food, friendly staff.

Jordan Deuink

Enjoyed the wine tasting options. Didn't stay for the restaurant - seemed a bit pricey

Jessica Nutter

My husband brought me here for my birthday dinner. For the passed 3 yrs we have gone to the Valentine's dinner they have every year. Absolutely love it!!! Never been disappointed with the food that chef Chris prepares. My complaints chef! My birthday dinner was amazing!

EMH

My experience at Monteluce was fabulous! I first started at the wine bar and had the VIP tasting. There I was able to try 6 wines of my choosing and all were great. I then I had lunch in the dining room overlooking the beautiful winery. I had sea bass on a bed of quinoa with more fabulous wine and topped it off with the apple cider pound cake. Beautiful afternoon!!

CaSh M

This place was amazing! The server was great! The food was A-1! Best steak I have ever had. Beautiful scenery! Everything was the best!

Love, Grapes & Wine **BEAUTIFUL PLACE***

Beautiful location. Friendly bartenders.

This was our first time at Montaluce, and we had a fun daylong experience. We did the combination hike of the property and 5 flight wine tasting. Bring your hiking shoes! The website should be very clear on this. I’m glad I did, but one unsuspecting soul was in a gorgeous dress and heels, thinking this was a stroll through the vineyards. It was that and much more. The hike was 2 miles, a mile downhill to the river and a mile uphill, all through dense woods with nary a breeze, and then through the lovely 11 acres of vines below the winery. The winery itself is like a slice of Tuscany with gorgeous views and photo opportunities. The tour concluded with a private wine tasting on the spectacular covered patio. The wine was good, their sweet and spicy wines were their better ones. To go along with your generous pours of wine, you can order appetizers. We had the charcuterie and cheese board, which was good and could’ve been a bit bigger for sharing, given the $25 price. We also had gazpacho which was as good as I’ve ever had. Very refreshing after our muddy slog. All in all, we were a very happy group in a beautiful place, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. We plan to come back to try dinner for my birthday. But will skip the hike next time.

rick conlin

Took the $46.00 walking tour. It was a beautiful woodsy walk and talk. Very nice setting but the walking tour was more like a walk thru a wooded trail and a local history narration vs the expected "wine" focused learning experience. Nice people and nice guide for sure but the experience overall was not like most wine walking tours. The wine flight at the end was fair. We stayed for lunch which was nice but very high priced for what we got. Great wait staff service. Great views. But it's hard to consider the overall as anything more than a nice countryside restaurant that wants to be a winery someday. "Fake it till you make it"

DN Taylor

Easter Sunday brunch. Though a crowd was looking for seating...we were not rushed. Arlette was a delightful and prompt server, checked on us but did not hover. Potato leek and bacon brocolini soups were great, such a good blend of flavors. Eggs florentine with hollandaise sauce was great, the steak and eggs plate was yummy according to the person who ordered. Sample of the steak and bearnaise sauce really was great. Finished with a delightful merangue nest with strawberry rhubarb and a tangy sorbet. So good, regular coffee was rich in flavor also. Look forward to another venture and trip to your lovely restaurant. Views are spectacular, if less wind we might have enjoyed eating on the covered patio.

Enerieth Almario

The wine was wonderful. The view breathtaking ❤

Who hosts a wedding in the dark without any sort of lighting at all? Apparently, these people do. A smartphone-lit wedding?! Unreal. Then they charged the bride and groom for 2 plates even though they had 5 extra plates thanks to a few no-shows. It's a shame, because the place was quite beautiful when you could see it.

Ross Brewer

This review is purely regarding the restaurant's reservation system; we did not get to the point of tasting the food or wine. My family and I were on our way to meet our 3:00 p.m. reservation. At exactly 3:05 p.m. (as we were on Hightower Church Rd), the restaurant called us to be sure that we were still coming. At five minutes late, I can see that as a somewhat reasonable call to make. However, the restaurant employee proceeded to alert us that the kitchen would be closing very shortly, and that if we were not there in the next minute or two, they would have to cancel our reservation. They needed to "get us through" as soon as they could so that the kitchen could switch over to dinner preparation. From my eating out experience, this was an unusual and rude explanation to give to a customer. At 3:08 p.m., we cancelled our reservation in person. I don't intend on patronizing a restaurant that threatens its visitors with unreasonable time restraints. I would suggest that they don't take reservations at times that do not coordinate with their kitchen's break for dinner prep. We would have gladly arrived earlier so as not to hold up this process. Out of protest, and barring some kind of survival circumstance, I won't be eating here.

Steve Lindeman

The venue is beautiful. Service and attentiveness of staff was terrible. Cheese and meat plate was good. Cannot really comment on the wine as the staff basically refused to share any information on the wine or even to let me see the bottle to load into Vivino. Will not be back. They do not understand customer service.

Alfred Davis

Absolutely amazing. The food (brunch) was damn near perfect, the wine selection is awesome, and the staff knowledgeable. The grounds of Montaluce are the best around. They even have their own villas! Would recommend for a day trip or a date.

Joy Roberts

My daughter and I love the atmosphere of Montaluce and have been several times. However, we have never had dinner at the restaurant until last Saturday evening. We met Celebrate Atlanta, as I am a member of the group who has been booked over the last few years at the same time. After getting seated and ordering wine, a few of us asked about getting bread. There were 8 at our table. When it finally came out, there was one small loaf for all of us. I told our server we would need more than that. It took about 20-30 minutes before we got 2 more loaves which went were consumed very quickly. It took a very long time before our meals came out, or should I say appetizers. The quantities were not only small but vegetables were hard to find. One lady asked for turnips as she didn't get any on her plate. I know you have your own vegetable gardens, so I don't understand why there is skimping on them. My daughter had the Sea Bass which was a very tiny piece of fish and a couple of small potatoes. All in all the portions for all the dishes were very sad. The worst part was having to add $19 to our bill for a 20% gratuity. Our bill was approx. $124 and we were still very hungry. When we left, we had to stop and get something to eat as we felt we had only eaten a snack for that hefty price. The following day we went to Kaya Winery and saw nice portions of food for lunch and the prices of food/wine were both much better, and they had a nice musician and singer on the patio which we liked better than sitting on the deck at Montaluce and looking at the vineyard. We were very disappointed in our dining experience and will not do it again. Respectfully, Joy Roberts

I came here with friends and the service and staff were wonderful! We started out with a wine tasting with Sam, who gave us a lot of helpful Information for each wine. The wine was just something special, c'monn somebody! We decided to walk around the Vineyard, which is just beautiful, then we decided to have dinner. Shelby helped us out with making a reservation with perfect seating to overlook the Vineyard. Then we met our wonderful waitress Emily. She had perfect recommendations and was also very informative about everything we were eating. Honestly, this is the best quality food I've eaten. Ever. When I put a piece of the Prime porter house on my tongue, I wanted to lay down and just cryyyyyy, It was so perfect. And don't ask me about the Oreo Cheesecake, that was perfect too. Literally everything was perfect. I will definitely make this a place to come often with friends and family. There is a very home feeling here, the staff definitely contributes, very welcoming. This is by far the best dining experience I've ever had. Period. Thank you Sam, Shelby and Emily for an amazing experience! We will definitely be back to see you guys!

Alex Haxton

Sadly we didn’t have a great experience dining. Service was very VERY slow and we had to remind several times about things asked for or wine orders. Eventually we just decided to end the experience and avoid asking for wine or anything else worrying we’d be there for another hour waiting for something else. Also it would have been nice to have a little acknowledgment about a birthday being celebrated as the reason for being there.

David Harris

Beautiful winery. Amazing beauty. Wine is very good. A bit high price point but very nice

Aaron Holloway-Nahum

We had a wonderful lunch here. Some of the best wines in Georgia from my tasting experience! The food was truly beautiful I just can't understand why nowhere in Georgia has Pecan Pie!!

Ngoc Duy Nguyen

Amazing location, great food. Only the service was a bit slow and sometimes confusing

Jennifer Swizdaryk

Walk into a little piece of Tuscany. Absolutely gorgeous tasting room. Great upscale restaurant!

Tanya Swann

Our team enjoyed a day of winery tours and Montaluce was our second stop which included lunch. We appreciated the small personalized touches, including our logo on all menus and the careful attention to detail from our server. The wine was good, food excellent and atmosphere, beautiful!

Mike Armstrong

One of the best in the country!

Carl Wells

This is one of the finest restaurants I have ever been to.

Jonathan Jackson

Absolutely beautiful and vineyards! Amazing but one thing that is outrageously priced is the wine tasting. $35 to taste some samples of wine. That's ridiculous. Otherwise beautiful vineyard, the inside is outstanding and staff is very friendly. Just please hope they lower the prices of the wine tasting and I would to back.

S Norman

This place has a wonderful view and deliciously fresh foods. The staff is incredibly friendly and the wines are very nice. The wine tasting flight we had was a great value for the size of the pours we received. We would absolutely recommend this restaurant and winery to anyone, and hope to return on our next visit!

Steven Craig Bryan

Excellent wine and food Great friendly service. Will be going back

Atul K. Verma

Must have been our unlucky day. We went there for some desseet and wine. The black forest cake was made with salt, not sugar (I am not kidding). After we told the server, the chef came out after a little bit and apologized. No big deal as mistakes happen. They substituted it with a creme brulee. My 6yo has nuts allergy, and even after asking the server to confirm that there are no nuts, he brought to him What was actually a peanut creme brulee. What a mess. Luckily he only had a mild reaction as he refused to eat after the first bite and then we tasted it to find out it had peanuts. They did had the courtesy to Not charge for the desserts. Not going back. Not recommending to anyone.

Julie Puckett

New Years Eve 7 course dinner was outstanding! What a compliment to Dahlonega and Montaluce to have such a skilled chef. Loved it!!

Marla Newman

I find myself constantly making excuses for the slow service, wrong food orders and loud ambiance. I want them to get it right! But time and time again they fail. Tonight we ordered steak with crab cakes. After 45 min of waiting for our food they came out with steak and shrimp and explained that “the chef ran out of crab.” What? They had 45 min to come out and let us know their menu item was no longer available but instead delivered something other than what we were anticipating. Super disappointed and annoyed. We left with a sour taste and won’t be back. Too bad. Great vineyard but the kitchen and staff just can’t get it right.

Chris Teston

Beautiful place. The food, wine, and property is wonderful.

Russell Gyenes

The restaurant / winery is picturesque and the food / wine is lush and memorable. Unfortunately, the service was NON-EXISTENT today. I don’t know what the issue was (and the manager couldn’t offer any sympathy or explanation), but it was further insulting to see a 21% gratuity added to our table (since there were eight of us). I’m sure many patrons enjoyed the total experience; we were not so lucky.

Mark Edwards

One of my favorite places in North Georgia. They have a great dinning room and patio. Their wine are not my favorite in N. Ga, but hopefully their new wine maker will be able to help the be competitive in the wine game. Their chef has started to create a more seasonal and rotational menu, which is great! Even thought the pork burger is no longer a staple on the menu :(. The have incredible vistas.

Detailed I Do's

Such an amazing venue to host a wedding weekend! This property is not only gorgeous but the food & beverage is amazing as well. Our team just worked with Katie & Shelby on a November wedding for one of our clients and had such a great experience! If your in search of a venue that will blow guests away you HAVE to schedule a site visit here and meet with their team! So so beautiful!

Alexander Sterngold

Probably the worst gastro experience in Georgia. Service is under par, food is overpriced, wine is at best ok. The view and scenery is great.

Lindsey R

I had a great time here with a bridal party. Great views and service. At the end of our experience i purchased two bottles of Mead Wine to take back for the actual wedding day. I didn’t think about it then, but both bottles were bottle capped- not corked. Why- I have no idea? On our trip home (mind you only in a car) one or both of the bottle leaked and destroyed the wine tags, got all over the car and the biggest thing is- I’m sure the wine is going to be flat and taste horrible for the December wedding. Upset after spending $60 on 2 bottles- I called and left a voicemail for management and was a little upset by the lack of customer service to return my call. Again, you will have a great time here... just don’t buy the Mead to take home.

M. K.

Wonderful Experience. We enjoyed a lovely dinner right after Christmas with attentive staff. We'll be back soon. The wine is a bit pricey but quite lovely. This is a great place for a special dinner with spectacular views. Sorry, no more pictures, as too many people just take them without permission.

Zahir Sohag

This place is amazing, you can easily spend your entire day here walking around the vineyard, enjoying delicious meals and the view. Oh, did I mention that they have great wine collection too. Can't wait to come back again.

Lindsay Allen

I cannot say enough about Montaluce and its staff. My wedding was 3 weeks ago and my guests cannot stop talking about how beautiful the venue was, how good the food was, and how kind the staff was. Our ceremony was supposed to be held outside in the vineyard, but I never worried about the weather because there were so many great options inside that could be decided the morning of (we did end up having the ceremony on the terrace due to rain). Elizabeth and Stephanie, the event coordinators, made the whole process so easy from start to finish. At every step, they did their best to make sure I wasn't worrying about a thing. Every time I mentioned doing something, the response was always "Don't worry, we can handle that" AND THEY DID! There was always food and beverages available to guests so that no one went hungry (or thirsty) while waiting for the ceremony or during the cocktail hour. There were special meals set out for the few children we had at the reception, along with ones for those who had dietary restrictions. Elizabeth and Stephanie offered to package extra cookies from our sweets table for guests as they left. The staff was very helpful and accommodating to everyone during the fmaily-style dinner (which was delicious and a great way to go rather than a sit-down or buffet style). Elizabeth and Stephanie really went out of their way to make sure the day ran smoothly and everyone was happy. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing!

Suzanne Erickson

We just made our fourth or fifth trip to La Vigne and each visit has been better than the last. The wines are very good, the scenery from the upstairs deck is beautiful and the food was to die for. Our waitress was the perfect combination of very knowledgeable, quick witted and invisible. We love this place and recommend it to anyone looking for a really special meal.

Catherine Beadles

Montaluce’s restaurant was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had, ever. The service was atrocious from the very start and despite speaking with the manager, it never improved. The manager himself seemed very unbothered when we brought up our displeasure with the level of service, which was quite surprising. You’d think that the manager would at least *pretend* to care about how the patrons of his establishment feel. If you choose to visit Montaluce, dine at your own risk. Or, if you’d like to have a nicer experience I would recommend visiting Cavender Creek Winery down the road. They have great wine, snack food and the best service we experienced all day!
