I loved our visit here! It was spur of the moment post a trip to Helen. We did a wine tasting. Our server Bebe was phenomenal! Then finished the evening with a glass of wine on their patio (discounted $2 per glass since we did the tasting). We can't wait to go back!

My friend and I walked in on a packed Sunday never have been. So we walked around the shop enjoying the cute knick knacks and decided to do a tasting. Walked up to the bar and asked about the tasting. The woman behind the bar snappily told us there was a wait and where to write our names. As we waited to write our names down. She walks up and actively ignores us to speak to an older couple behind us. When we asked how it worked. She snapped and told us to read a sign(with 5 ppl standing in front of it, not easily visible). Our experience was less than enjoyable. Won’t be coming back. I suggest putting the sign outside the door so people can read the sign before they come in and not right where people hover when they enter.

Great wine for a little north Georgia winery. I like the muscadine and some of the others. Every holiday I make a Swedish Rumglögg with their Scarlet wine. It's always a high point of the holiday meals. You can see the vats, bottling process and their cask room. Lots of cool things to buy in the shop too! Make sure to stop by the wine bar for tastings.

No Hope For Humanity

We've been coming to Helen since the 90's and the Habersham Winery was always something we would look forward to. The wine tasting was always FREE, and afterwards, we would buy a bottle or two of our favourites. This year when we went, we were dismayed to see that a tasting now costs $7.50 per person. No way. Not spending $32 dollars to taste wine AND buy a couple of bottles. We walked out the door without making a purchase.

We absolutely enjoyed our time at the winery!!!!! The tasting was reasonably priced, the atmosphere was great, and the staff was so pleasant. We will definitely be going back. The wine slushy was the best!!! We got the mix, and the wine and made some for ourselves once we got back to the condo. After thinking about it we suggest you should give small samples of your slushy for everyone to taste and your sales would go up even more. We went there for the wine tasting and bought 3 bottles of wine. The person helping us gave us the wrong bottle of wine (one that I tasted and really disliked) I realized the mistake when I got to our hotel and due to the weather I was unable to turn around and return the wrong wine. In the morning on our way back home I stopped by the winery to exchange the wine and was told that they could not help me, even though it was their employees falt that I got the wrong order. So now I'm stuck with a $20 bottle of wine that I can't stand and I never got the muscadine wine I wanted. Way to leave a customer dissatisfied

The inside bar was really happening on a Saturday evening just before closing time! We did glasses instead of a full tasting but I really enjoyed being there and all of the different seating areas they have for sipping, hanging out and taking your time.

Fun tourist excursion if you're in the area, the tasting is affordable they have a great variety. However, I felt like I was in a Cracker Barrel. It's 90% store, 10% tasting room. The front yard is a giant parking lot and it's packed full of people no matter when you visit... possibly because it's on the edge of Helen right before you hit all the traffic. We didn't get the personalized experience that smaller wineries offer. We felt cramped and rushed, and learned absolutely nothing about the wines because the tasting staff were all preoccupied/multi-tasking.

My wife and I stopped here after a long walk; we had a wine tasting for $7.50 for 5 decent sized pours. Cole took care of us and was very knowledgeable about the wines being offered. After the tasting you can purchase glasses of wine for $4-6. Plus you get to keep the glass!

Some friends and I came in on my birthday weekend looking to try some wine and kill some time while we waited on other activities we had planned for the day. Our hostess was Bebe and she was super energetic, friendly, knowledgeable of all the wines, and super down to earth. We each sampled 5 different wines and got to take home our glasses as souvenirs. We all ended up getting the peach wine slushy they have. If I had owned a good blender at the time, I would have definitely bought some mix and made my own at home. I know what I'll be getting when I go back.

I stopped by this afternoon with my brother. I came from Louisiana to pick up my sister a bottle she requested. I have been there before and enjoyed my prior visit but not today. All 4 ladies working gave me the impression I was a bother just being there, not welcoming or friendly in the least. I wanted to do a tasting with my brother who had never been there before but we just left. There were no other customers there while we were so it's not that they were too busy. Bad service.

This place is really wonderful, Donna was an amazing wine expert and the wines tasted great. Beautiful environment. Theres nothing bad to say about this place, you should go if you are in Helen as well as there sister store, Creekstone. It's more than worth the price. My only suggestion would be to make the place a little more sustainable, maybe laminate a few of the sheets with wine options and use a dry erase marker to choose your tasting wines, I saw many people leave them, that way you can save paper. I noticed a few things like this during my tasting. This is nothing against the store itself, but I think they can look at ways to save the environment and general waste.

Ample parking available on Monday afternoon/early evening. Wine tasting experience was amazing. 5 wines that you get to select and a souvenir wine glass for under 8 bucks. They had complimentary crackers to snack on. I liked the barrel decor inside and there were places to sit if you didn't want to stand by the bar for the whole wine tasting. Generous pours. Staff was nice and friendly, gave restaurant recommendations when asked.

Stopped by randomly while driving from North Georgia, and was very happy with the experience. Knowledgeable staff who are polite and not pushy, lovely design on the inside, and you can see the bottling room from the main shop. I was also very pleased to find out they had lists of distributors for various regions, and they were able to find stores near me that stock their wines, and I noticed they allow shipping as well. I recommend the Chardonnay, and my partner liked their Scarlett. Plus, they had a discount if you bought more bottles, so if you want a glass of locally made wine (most of their grapes are even grown in Georgia), I recommend checking out their products and stopping by their Helen, GA, winery.

Was excited to try the wine tasting experience and buy a wine bottle or two... only, my friend and I put our name on the list and waited for about 45 mins... meanwhile, at least two other groups of two who put their name on the list *after* us were called. We saw that we were obviously not wanted, so we left with out trying anything. I did so want to buy a few wines too. Maybe because my friend and I look so young, they thought we wouldn't spend enough money to be worth their time. Whatever the reasons were... this was the only specific stop we had planned on our trip to Helen and I was very disappointed.

We were here a couple months ago (review is a little late). I don't drink, but have a boozing travelling buddy, so I have seen my share of bars, winerys, and breweries. This place is beautiful - sits up on a little hill and has a lot of free parking. The inside is clean and very friendly. My friend did a wine tasting and liked all of them (even bought a full glass and a bottle). It's also a store with all kinds of super-cute stuff, so if you are looking for some kind of gift for a wine/drinking person, this is a great place to get it. The girl working the bar was so friendly and helpful and knew what she was talking about. Besides the indoor bar, there's a nice area to sit outside and sip your wine; there's a gazebo and several tables with chairs. Maybe I can't attest to the wine, but I can attest to everything else - nice place - a great place to gather with friends to relax. My friend loved all the wines.

Service is horrible , lack of enthusiasm and definitely without an interest about their customers. Also they didn’t have much knowledge about the wine. They knew only what was written in papers , when we asked something else about their wine they didn’t know answers. Little bit friendlier behavior would change entire atmosphere and I would be definitely leaving 5 star review , unfortunately in this case 3 stars are more than enough. I stop at the parking lot and one of employees or owner (an older man driving a maroon Car approached me and questioned me why I was driving 20 mph in the road. This is a very steep and narrow road and there was an accident with several emergency vehicles by it. I was driving a wide RV with 4 kids inside and this stranger, unfriendly and rude man keep giving me a hard time because he provably was late to work. The winery was still close and after this experience obviously didn’t even think on entering. If they are alive as a business is because of tourists like me. They should be more patience and friendly specially when selling alcoholic beverages. What a shame!

I read some poor reviews on Habersham Winery just before my trip to the area, but decided to go there anyway since we were making stops at all the local places. Found this winery to be just as others have said. Not one person spoke to us or offered us service. We waited about 15 minutes to have a turn at the tasting bar. There were one 4 people at the bar and 2 bartenders. Very disappointed. But I have to say every other establishment we went to in the Saute Nacoochee area, the people were very friendly and warm and gracious. These people could learn a thing or two from the other business owners in the area.

Went to Habersham Winery on Saturday, 6/7 and they didn't acknowledge us, didn't serve us. They kept staring at us, but said absolutely nothing. We walked around for about 5 minutes then I finally asked one of the ladies if we could try their wines and she rudely answered. Needless to say we left. We felt we were ignored because of our skin color, I say this because others walked in after us and they were acknowledged and served. Went over to Cottage Vineyard and had a fabulous time.

The wine tasting here is by far the best reason to go, even if you don't intend on buying anything else but the taste session at the bar. The staff are really helpful and will gladly answer any questions you might have for them, or at least try to get an answer for you if they don't know it. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because the wine tasting list was a bit short. But still a great place to stop by before and/or after you visit Helen.

Habersham Winery is one of the best in the Hiawassee/Blairsville/Young Harris areas. The bartenders are so courteous and informative, and not at all intimidating to those just getting into wine. Definitely recommend them!!

Be aware there's $10.50 fee for wine tasting. They don't tell you that until you're done drinking. Bebe was our hostess, not once did she mention fee for wine tasting. I really liked two kinds of wines and I was ready to buy few bottles of each until they charged us $21 for tasting. That killed it for me, I just walked out. I've been all the over the country where wine tasting is a thing but you're told up front to pay for tasting. Now you know.

We spent a small fortune. Not only did we purchase nearly 3 cases of wine, we also bought a wine rack. Not just a wine rack, but a nice piece of furniture. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Habersham. The staff took us on a mini tour, and could not have been more cordial. Not paying a tasting charge was nice. For those who do.....shame on you! Hope to get back to Habersham again.
