This place opened in November 2017 after years of award winning home brewing, and I drove by dozens of times... what a mistake! 18 taps with "Honey Wine" let me sample all the Mead varieties from local honey. It is the Oldest Alcoholic Beverage in the world but the first time I could taste test them. I am absolutely coming back and couldn't leave without a bottle to take home and share. Live Music and food trucks there depending on the schedule/day so check their social media outlets (instagram and Facebook with Website coming soon) to see what they have that day. They are open Friday to Sunday and I'm certain once the word gets out that they will be forced to stay open on non tourist days. Very glad I finally stopped to check out the Etowah Meadery.

I'm new to the world of mead, but Etowah Meadery seems like the perfect place to be introduced. They have a huge selection of meads with varying alcohol levels and flavor combinations. "Southern Luau" was by far my favorite!! Great atmosphere with board games and live music as well.

A fine establishment with people passionate about mead. A warm, clean place with games on all the tables to encourage even the most staunch wall flowers to come out and play. I will be bringing more friends to the meadery as they come in to town.

I went on down time, and Johnny was the guy who helped me out. I never really heard of mead, and he really taught me a lot over a flight. I liked all four of what I tried, even more than normal wine, so I bought a bottle of Georgia Standard. They really have it together for only being open to the public for a few months. I'll recommend this place to my friends, and I'll be coming back for sure. Good product with a comfy and casual atmosphere.

Great meads (honey wine) and a nice facility. Owner was friendly and overall was a great place to taste an unfamiliar yet tasty drink. I will definitely visit again! Get a flight and try their different meads.

Amazing. Come get a flight and some jerk chicken. The owner came over and talked to us about our selections, made recommendations. I was really surprised at the diversity and deliciousness if the meads. They're all not just super sweet. You should absolutely drop by!

Christopher Hill

Great facility and the owner is very friendly. Nice selection of meads to try on site and to purchase to-go including bottles or growler fills. Excited about their future plans too!

Great beer, wine, and wine spritzers. The owner (and staff) is very friendly and will have a conversation with you, answer questions, and make you feel right at home. Def a must to do in Dahlonega.

Stopped here on a whim, the place was so cool. Mead is great, and the varieties are vast. It's basically a tap room for mead. Different fruit flavors and carbonation levels, etc. Honey is largely locally sourced and the brewery supports the local farm economy. Owners were SO friendly and accommodating. They even gave us an impromptu tour or the brewery, which was very interesting. Isn't that cool? You walk in and the OWNER pours you a glass and proceeds to give an off the cuff tour of the facility. These people really bend over backwards for customers, and you can sense their passion for the business is genuine. . 5/5 stars, will definitely be coming back. Please support this local North Georgia business!

Great place to break into honey wines if you’ve never had them. Large selection of quality meads with a huge variety of flavors and mead styles. $15 for a flight of four 1 oz pours. Open interior with lots of seating, board games, card games, and even live music. Really friendly and knowledgeable staff on our visit. Don’t skip if you’re in the area!

Excellent products and hospitality. I knew nothing about mead other than it was an ancient beverage. These folks informed and entertained me beyond my expectations.

They have a lovely range of flavors and types. Not everything was my jam, but, that means it’s more likely anyone will find something they like! A must visit. Well definitely be going back. I might even be joining my first alcohol club.
