Absolutely horrible and disappointing experience. After hearing about Gary's, we ventured from the Jersey Shore to the Madison location over the weekend. We spoke with an employee explaining that this was our visit and that we wanted to taste Gary's "labeled wines" and to explore their otherwise inventory. At the beginning, we were really disappointed in the "free wine" tasting as several of the featured wines were unavailable for tasting. We then ventured to the wine dispensing machine and no one could access any of the wines with any of the "cards" available. We then ventured up and down the very tight aisles and were disappointed in the non-competitive prices and inventory compared to either Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. When asked if we could "taste" any of "Gary's" labels, we were told none of the wine was available for tasting. It boggles my mind that one company can proffer their private label but, cannot make a tasting available. Needless to say, it was an expensive drive for very disappointing results. I can only surmise that this market capitalizes on the locals for convenience.

Obviously they have a great wine selection, but they also have helpful staff and a decent selection of hard liquors. Overall pricing is about average compared to everywhere else, but they have the added benefit of delivering to the area. It's a quality store, kept clean, and enough shelf space for good selection.

Always a pleasant experience shopping at Gary's. If you love wine, it's like going to a candy store as a kid... you're in paradise. Gary is around quite often and is a pleasure to talk to and get to hear about different places and wines that he has come across in his many years of selling wine, Rueben happened to help me this particular day and he was wonderful, kind and informative and helped me pick out many bottles of wine from all over the world, can't wait to try them all. There is an advantage shopping for wine at Gary's because of Gary's knowledge and contacts of Vintners throughout the world, he can pass on special pricing to the consumer and his employees help make your decisions easier when it can be so intimidating and overwhelming at times, of course there is many expensive wines to choose from but a person like Rueben can help lead you in the right direction depending on each individuals taste and find you a wine you'll like within your price range.

Internet Order Review: The selection of wine is outstanding and the prices are generally lower or match competitors. My order was carefully packaged for shipping and arrived in great shape. The only fault was that I requested the order be shipped early in the week, but it shipped on a Friday. I will definitely order from Gary's again, but will confirm shipping by phone.

Gary's is more than a Wine/Beer store, the business offers much more... from wine reccomdations, great cheeses and foods, gift baskets, along with special gifts for your friends, clients, and yourself. They also added a great wall of 1910 maps of Madison and historical pictures on the Prospect Street entrance wall. Check it out, see if you can find your Madison home's location.

The worst experience ever! The store was supposed to be open until 10am, we arrived befor 9:30pm,the cashier had the biggest attitude ever and didn’t want to help us wrap a gift. We were sent from the manager to the cash register which both were very unexperienced and with the worst costumer service we ever experienced. We love Gary’s and we shop there a lot but today was our visit there.
