Attended the Peach Festival today August 10th. Two disappointments on today's visit. The first problem was trying to us an older gift card. Apparently, their computer system has been changed since the gift card was issued & the staff was not able to tell me the value of the gift card. I'm not sure why a value could not be located if it has it's own unique numbering code. Lesson learned, don't forget to always write the value on any gift card, on the actual card, your fortunate to receive. Second problem, stood in the food truck line for 30 minutes, only to be told they they ran out of food. Really, at 2:30 in the afternoon. Great planning. After visiting this winery for many years; I'm not sure I will return.

If I could give a 0 star I would. I have been to many wineries in my life and have never been treated as poorly as I was by Kate Wilson and Julie Hadfield. I've never had a confrontation and been treated so poorly by two people as I did with them. They treated me like a lesser person, called me unfavorable names, and were incredibly rude. I would never visit this place.

Great place. Lots of fun activities. Alot of space. Bring a blanket. Have a picnick. The wines are great. Different tastes for everyone. You can really tell how much hard work the cellar puts in. They must be really amazing people. Dedicating so much time and effort. Working countless hours, and probably being over shadowed by the other aspects. But the real heros here are the winery's cellar crew. They should be praised.

Really small, self guided tour is a joke it's a lol room.

I went here on a Groupon and was very un impressed. They charged me double the price (the lady said she was confused after I argued it) Also during the wine tasting other people kept coming up to do a tasting and the lady doing the tasting would say "what do you want" What a way to great your customers. The atmosphere is not nice at all

The wine is good but........................ 15 Sept 2017 There was one disappointing grape on the vine (blond, working inside at the cash register). I dropped by to pickup a couple of bottles of wine for a friend. After purchasing two bottles my guest and I stayed for a wine tasting. We were given a coupon that offered a 10 percent discount on a purchase of three bottles. I tried to buy a third bottle but was denied the discount. While it was a trivial amount of money it the "good will" that this place lacks. Do your self a wise favor, try other wineries in the area.

Walked into the store area at 11:47 Saturday morning. Nobody there to greet us or show us their product. Then there was a gentleman speaking to some individuals so we stopped to listen. He stopped and in a very snotty tone. "Can I help you". Uh no thanks buddy just trying to enjoy the winery. The wife and I walked out and never looked back.

Ben Safran

Neat winery for pa locals. Can't be too critical of their wine since it's not my style. Plus is you can buy a bottle of wine and drink it there

We had the best afternoon here sitting outside with a bottle of wine, cheese, and crackers and listening to live acoustic music. The staff is so so friendly too. Can't wait to come back!

We really love this place and make it a point to visit every year for our anniversary. Always a good time with great tasting wines; however yesterday we went and found that they now give plastic Dixie cups to drink from. They no longer sell glasses either. The only way to get a glass was to pay for the event they had going on. We always bring a nice picnic basket and get a couple bottles of wine so we really didn’t feel the need to pay for the trick or treating wine pairing event. We just wanted to sit and enjoy. We were lucky our basket had plastic wine cups but the the plastic still took away from the taste. The wine breathes better in a glass. Just have to say, we are not wine snobs in any way but you’re not giving your customers the best taste of your wine from a plastic Dixie cup. We would have gladly purchased glasses but that’s longer an option either. Just think it’s a poor business decision to not even sell the glasses. The plastic Dixie cups really takes away from the wine. We hope you rethink the decision to at least sell glasses again.

Wonderful staff, nice place, and good wine.

My favorite winery. Every weekend they have something going on. The wine is amazing and the atmosphere is family friendly and welcoming. If you are there for a a bottle of wine, a glass of wine or the event they are always welcoming.

B T

Mediocre wines and their dependcy upon outdoor vendors is a very clear sign of their lack of creativity and relevancy. Would not recommend any of their wines even for cooking. Subpar.

Jeff Pleimling

Went for their Wine & Chocolate Pairing event and had an excellent time. The wine and chocolates were excellent and the people friendly and knowledgable. This was our first time here and are planning on visiting again.

I went with my girlfriend on a brisk Sunday during the "Winter Wine-derland" festival in early January. We had a great afternoon enjoying the traditional wine tasting, fire pits, live music, and "Baby Blues" food truck. We ended up purchasing a bottle of the "Chaddsford Red Wine". It seems like a great place to go with either a significant other, friends, or family.

I like going to Chaddsford to see the live entertainment, they have awesome wine slushies and events with the food trucks. The bacon festival is the best. Who would have thought that chocolate and bacon taste good together

For my dear friends birthday we found this winery. It was awesome. We all enjoyed ourselves. We drank and Sung carols around the open fire and had the best chocolate chip cookies from one of the vendor trucks and sung happy birthday. All the staff was nice and most of all it was a great and different birthday for my friend!

Ken Plummer

We love this place!! From the staff, events & the wines!! Everything is always sooo good and welcoming!! Great selection of wines!!

Karen McAuliffe

Their Niagara was one of the very best Niagaras I have ever had, until my last one. What happened? It smells like fuel oil. That wonderful fruity taste is gone.

Bill Maurer

My wife and I went to the store for wine tasting in Peddler's Village. It was overpriced for the amount of tasting. The guy was very familiar with the samples, but he was monotone, no eye contact and we felt rushed. The store was loaded with flies. I'd go to a real vineyard and probably not Chaddsford if I were you.

Daniel Green

Let's get one thing out of the way right now- if you're the kind of person that won't drink anything that isn't from Bordeaux don't even bother. Does this place offer super complex and expensive wines that you can write novels about? No. But what they do have is very affordable and accessible wines. This is not to say that their wines are bad by any means- nothing here is going to make you gag and want to spit it out. By that measure alone I say it's a good winery. Again, most wines here are not complex, but this attribute makes them very good for parties and other social gatherings. Wine aside the place is very homely, with a nice almost historic feel to the building. The staff is very friendly as well with several very knowledgeable people around if you have any questions. If you're in the area give it a try, just make sure you have a DD if you happen to like the product.

Joanne Stromski

Great place for music and wine.

I want to start by saying that I did win this tour/tasting through a radio show. I was told this was the reserve tasting plus a private tour for 10 people. We ended up having a total of 8 people in our party. We all drove over an hour for this tour/tasting. We planned it over 3 months in advance with someone in their hospitality department. They said the first date I choose was good and would get our tour/tasting reserved for us. When we arrived at the location we all went inside and I told the girls at the front we were here for the tour/tasting that I had won. She said she would get our tour guide (I cannot remember her name) and we could start. We went out to the cottage for a private tasting of the three reserve wines. After that our guide took us on a tour of where the wine is pressed, fermented and packaged. Once we were finished she said we were done and could buy wine upstairs and enjoy some outside if we would like. We enjoyed the tour guide she was very knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions. From what the sign said when you come in out front the reserve tasting include our traditional tasting, plus three one ounce samples of our small-batch wines paired with artisanal treats. I was confused that all we had for our tasting was the three small batch wine samples. I went out to the front and asked the girls out there if the reserve tasting came with the traditional wine tasting and the said it did. I told them we only tasted the three reserve wines. They gave us tickets to do the other seven wines. It was pretty crowded in this area due to a food and wine festival that they had. From what I understood in my emails to reserve the tasting, the whole tasting/tour was supposed to be a private event. While doing the traditional tasting we asked the guys serving the wine when we would get the artisanal snacks. He said they were not doing any reserve tastings today due to the food and wine event. I told him we won the private tour and we already did the 3 reserve samples and tour he asked his manager for us. The manager came over and said that they didn’t have any of the normal snack because of the food event going on and brought us a dip and some crackers instead. At this point we all needed something to cleanse our palates to be able to continue tasting the wines. Our whole group felt that we did not get what we were told we would be getting. If I hadn’t said anything to the girls at the front we would not have even gotten to try the other 7 wines. If we had not said anything to the guys that we didn’t get the snack we would not have received those as well. The person that booked our tasting/tour should have said there was a special event that day and we would not be able to have everything that was supposed to come with the reserve tasting. This was for my Birthday and it was so disorganized that we didn’t feel very welcomed. I do understand that we won the whole tour/tasting but I don’t expect to be treated differently than someone who would purchase the tour. We did enjoy the wines and the tour guide but the event as a whole felt unwelcoming.

Destiny Edwards

The wine pairing events they have are amazing and have very friendly servers

A group of 4 of us went for the Memorial Day weekend Blues Festival. They had a large number of tastings set up but the wines themselves didn't review well with our group and the high price tag of 25$ per person (for tasting) didn't seem worth the value. The wines seem to be mostly too sweet. When asking the staff questions on the wines, their was limited knowledge beyond what was written on the bottle label but this was likely due to such large crowds at the venue. The vineyards themselves were not on the site so it wasn't a very picturesque visit. The food at the event was priced fine. We left shortly after visiting the tasting stations and went to the Va La vineyard nearby for a much more satisfying selection of wines and atmosphere.

Matt Mann

Food Truck Festival was an epic failure! Parking was a mess, Not enough food trucks which ran out of food. long lines, The internal music kept playing music once the band started. Horrible event experience.

Cannot express enough how awesome everyone is at this fine establishment. Have been here many times for wine purchases (Which is also 5 stars) but this is about a private party that I threw over at their chadds ford location. Everything was perfect, staff was friendly, rentals were price competitive and actually extremely cheaper than ten gallon hat (Which has good wine but apples to orange when it comes to location pricing). The party was amazing, ambiance was ideal. Great music, there was the italian festival going on, outside of the food we brought (Very flexible on this) there was also other things to purchase. We rented the cottage and outdoor area and would do it again in a heartbeat. If you need to throw a private function for between 20-50 look no further. Look forward to using again in the future!!!! Nick and Kara, Kara's Surprise 30th!

Before you go, try looking on Groupon for a cheaper voucher. I'd also recommend bringing your own snacks to enjoy with the wine, the food truck that was there when I went wasn't good. The traditional tasting was nice, but I wish the wines were explained to us better. They only had 1 girl behind the counter on a busy weekend. I prefer sweeter wines so i bought the Niagara and the rose. It's a cute local winery and I'd visit for the events again.

Paula Martino

Great place for food truck competitions

James Watkinson

Was there for Baconfest... Wine, beer, live music, food trucks. Very enjoyable.

It's hard to find a place to sit, but we like it here.

Good wine tasting and cupcakes. The area was nice and relaxing. You can easily spend hours here because the vibe is so good. I would definitely recommend to people who love wine and if they just wanna have a good time. I do recommend trying there flights as you can taste 4 different flavors of there wine sets. I tried them all and brought some bottles.

Ian Harrington

Movie nights are fun! If you like red, make sure you pick their dryest, as most of their wines in general are on the bit-too-sweet side.

BRETT JOHNSON

I have dealt with both Kate and Julie and the rest of their staff numerous times and I have had nothing but good experiences. I was quite surprised when I saw the previous review. Great events, great atmosphere, great service...5 stars.

The winery has changed over the past year. The former GM made myself feel very welcome and as a regular I enjoyed the sense of familiarity. Upon my most recent visit changes had been made in management and it was evident. It felt corporate and focused on moving bottles. The wine is sub par compared to the regional options, but I used to attend for the atmosphere and ambience (even though the wine was lacking). Given the recent changes and an undisguised focus on making a dollar over a making a newbie into a wine-enthusiast I suggest Pennswoods or Gayler for better value. This is still a hot spot for people-watching but is no longer my first or even third choice for a Chester County wine experience. A true shame from how it was a decade ago. I have lost my sense of connection with this winery. Flyers Red and (insert Philadelphia team color / wine) seemed to me the demise of the wineries artisanship.

We decided to check this place out while in the area visiting family. It's a cute little winery. They had two different tastings going on that day and we were a bit confused as to which one were were supposed to be attending when we arrived. I was disappointed that my glasses were plain with no logo on it and went in to ask if I could purchase the other ones that the other group was walking around with. The woman was a bit harsh with me and told me there were no more left even though there were dozens behind her on display. I thought it a bit rude but politely walked away. We purchased a few bottles and the cider they had there (blindly). The cider was terrible and I still have it sitting in my refrigerator for anyone who may muster the courage to want to try some someday. However, the experience was joyful and the grounds are quite lovely. We did have a pleasant time and enjoyed the wine we brought home with friends at a later time.

Todd Orme

Our favorite Winery to visit. Several festivals throughout the year Greek food and wine great atmosphere good live music.

Keith Saroka

Excellent assortment. Friendly staff.

Meghan Cascarelli

My husband and I love going to Chaddsford Winery on Saturdays! There is usually live music and a fun theme going on to compliment the season, as well as food trucks galore! It provides a fun, beautiful atmosphere to spend time with friends relaxing and catching up.

Kendrick Wee

Small winery and worth a visit if you have some time while on the way to Longwood garden.

Thomas Walsh

Wine tasting was terrible Tyler the pouring person was more concerned with his friends and the women walking around Didn't try and explain anything about the wines or the winery at all Complete waste of money and a Sunday afternoon Extremely disappointed in the winery The tasting was done outside under a tent with bees everywhere Should be ashamed to even charge for this I've done better tastings at local farmers markets

Latoyastokes Stokes

This is a awesome experience that everyone should try.

Katelyn Walls

I went to the summer camp yesterday (7/21/18) and cannot stop talking about how much fun it was! It poured the entire time and we still had such a blast. Thank you for making it such a fun day out with family and friends that we will never forget! We will definitely be seeing you next year for Camp!!! Thank you! Katelyn

wonderful experience! And great wines and great people!

Ollie

Awesome, friendly knowledgeable staff!! Walked inside to purchase wine and the young man greeted us amazingly and told us about the different kinds of wines!! Then after we picked our bottles we were greeted by the pleasant cashier that asked if we knew about the 10% off deal...had a wonderful experience here!!

Adam Kunz

The wines don't thrill me but the atmosphere makes for a great night out. Food trucks, live music, wine and beer in the beautiful setting of southern Chester County.

Harvey Mains

Nice display of wines. But there were not any brochures about the winery or the wines. Also there were no vines in evidence. A winery without grape wines is an oxymoron. The staff was very attentive but possibly distracted the Adult Trick or Treat. The tasting is $10.00.

shoebacha 23

Robert Fried

An attractive facade, nice wine tasting, good wines.

Allie Wentzel

We've gone to tons of events here and normally always have a great time. We showed up today for the Adult Trick or Treat without tickets because the pre-purchased tickets sold out quickly online but their website states: "Onsite tickets will be sold at $25/person only while supplies last. Arrive early for your best chance to secure an onsite ticket." We showed up early but were denied entry. This is false advertisement. If you do not have set aside onsite tickets you should state that if pre-purchase tickets are sold out online there will be no onsite tickets. There is a difference. When we inquiried, we were met with aloof attitudes as if we should have known. We've shown up before without pre-purchased tickets without a problem. We've always enjoyed coming here but now I'm not sure how soon we'll be back.

Rahul Mehta

Nice place. We go there pretty often. The wine is okay but the food trucks, the live music, and people who work there are amazing. It’s in the middle of a busy suburb where you don’t expect a winery to be but you’ll be pleasantly surprised with the place. Highly recommend for a quiet Saturday or Sunday afternoon

Emily Hagelberg

Myself and my family started going here years ago and it has really grown. The atmosphere is great, staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Their wine is decent. The biggest draw for us was the Welove music events they often host. Unfortunately as they have gotten more popular, we have had to stop attending as we have an asthmatic and an infant, and they allow smoking on their premises at these events. This is important to keep mind if you have family members sensitive to smoke. Cigars and cigarettes are all over at many of these events and unfortunately as the winery has no policy regarding this (I did check with a staff member who asked the manager) there is no incentive for people to put them out even when politely asked because they are upwind or in the crowd etc. Really a shame as most places have no smoking, or designated smoking areas these days, and now we have to look for alternatives to these overall excellent events.

Janet Hensenne-Rosiak

Great time at a spring event!!! Good wine and food...loved the music! Beer was also available that weekend - wondering if both wine and beer are always offered at the bar...?

My hubby and I just left the trick or treat event omgeeeeee. Best event ever. It was so much fun you go to 5 stations and get 2 different wines and snacks at each station. Our favorite was the Niagara Wine....so yummy we brought a bottle. Staff really friendly, fun crowd. On a side of caution please beware that bee and wasp season is in full effect. As a person who has a serve allergy to bee stings and carries an EpiPen it was a bit scary but no bee stings made it out safely...lol...just as a side of caution I thought I mention it....on top of all the snacks and wine you get keepsake glasses. !!!

Audra A

Have the people giving this place 5 stars ever been to the other vinyards in the area??? Theres a lotlof good wines in the region, but Chadds Ford's are absolutely terrible. I've never dumped so many glasses out at a tasting before for being undrinkable.

Wine tasting and tour was amazing!! It is a place I would definetly come back to and while your there get a bottle and check out the monthly events!

Great place. Very comfortable atmosphere. The staff are super friendly and make you feel welcome. Lovely scenery. Excellent wine.

Loved the Adult Trick or Treat!

Robert Jefferson

Joe B

The wine was excellent. The live band was an added bonus! If you're close, stop in.

Dean Seidman

I don't really drink wine and enjoyed the tasting experience. You get to choose from 7 wines, all were pretty good. Nice outdoor patio if you want to enjoy a full glass. Bring your own food as they do not sell food there. Definitely recommend.

MakeWashingtonWork

This is one of the most disorganize tasting rooms ever. We were there a year ago and said we would never be back but for some reason just decided to give them a second chance. We had three people giving us samples. None remembered where the other left off. Very crowded. They seem to serve generic wines called RED and WHITE. Strange names. I could go to the local Liquor store and find less expensive wines that tasted better. We did find a label we liked and went outside to enjoy the music. If this winery was not in this location with a huge demographic area they would die. Very poorly managed. We have traveled to 80 PA wineries so we feel we know what we are talking about.

Michael Vol

Cute idea the choclate and wine paring.

Christina Mongan

The other wineries on the Brandywine Valley Trail offer far superior wine.

K Harris

Very crowded on a Saturday and they only had 1 man pouring for the whole area. No crackers or anything offered.

Chris Collins

Truly horrible experience. Was at there boo wine tasting. They ran out of the mascarpone gelato and barrel select chardonnay. When asked for another round of somthing else to compensate they gave a hard time. Then the guy at station 4 was so rude. Truly a bad experience. Dont come to this winery.

Candice L Clark- Bertschy

Fun place & very personable employees.

Mitch Connors

It was an extremely disappointing. Not really an enjoyable experience in any way. The tastings are rushed and the "events", at least the one I was at, seem stale and poorly planned/executed.

Sydni Davis

I went during the weekend and did not receive the free cheese, crackers or glass. Totally not worth going on the weekend. However, the staff was very nice.

Donna Brady

Very fun tasting with friends...learned so much!!

MacGyver Dallas

After the wine club incident I have to give an update. Was with a friend was trying to cancel her membership and she was spoken to in such a way that she had to physically go up and explain why she wanted to cancel.. despite being chewed out on the phone by this woman. The woman on the phone was very rude and after relistening to the phone call conversation that was saved, we were completely turn off and disappointed. I will never go to this place again. Tyler was my pourer for the peach festival. He was the sweetest and best highlight of the event. He ran that wine tasting section by himself and went above and beyond. Having Tyler take the time out to introduce himself and explain the wine made the difference. I'm giving this a 5 because of Tyler's customer service!

Rima Hill

Hello my name is Rima, I truly enjoyed myself. I want to say the customer service was extrodinary, everyone is truly friendly helpful knowledgeable. I had the pleasure of meeting Greg and if I'm correct he's the manager but correct me if I'm wrong as far as this title. Greg was very knowledgeable very patient funny and helpful. His tour was of the winery was fantastic, he spoke in layman terms so we all could understand what exactly is done during the process of creating wine. I look forward to visiting again with all my friends and some family. I also made some friends while I was there which was awesome as well and Greg made the experience unforgettable he went above and beyond call of duty. I would like for him to know as well that he is doing an awesome job and keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing him again and again and again.

Nick Balog

Winery staff has poor attitudes. Would rather go elsewhere as this isn't even good wine.

Mary Pat McCarthy

It was movie night under the stars. We went around 6pm. They had happy hour specials and a food truck. They allow outside food which was great. We bought a couple bottles of Standard Red for $18 which was surprisingly good. We thought it was cheaper than buying by the glass. They have vastly improved since my last visit years ago. I would come again to CFW

Elizabeth McKee

Service was fair as was the wine BUT the music group who played were excellent

Fred Lange

Charming atmosphere, great wine.

Jeff Keleshian

My wife and I bought a bottle of the Red Standard. After opening and tasting the wine we found it to be spoiled “Carbonated, tart taste”. I called the winery in hopes they would stand good for thier spoiled wine and give me another. To my surprise I got a long story that somehow ended as my fault and no exchange. I will not go back.

Well-planned 4th of july events, nice afternoon, good live music and a chill crowd. Will be back.

Called to see if there were fireworks on the Fourth of July, worker said she thought they’d start around 6pm. Everybody was leaving when I got there. Waste of my time. She works there, she should know what’s going on.

Outstanding little stop over for a Saturday drive. The young lady who waited on us was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Will definitely visit again.

Went to the Chadds Ford Winery adult trick or treat wine tasting for my first wine tasting. I absolutely loved it! The staff was wonderful and knowledgeable and the wine was amazing! I have lived in the area my whole life and enjoyed going to my first tasting locally. Will definitely be coming back!!! **On a side note the black widow that they had available to taste was great!!!!***

All the wines available for tastings were very mild and easy-going wines. My husband and I were a little disappointed that the wines offered for tasting were pre-selected (we were not made aware of this previous to buying a tasting ticket). We tend to enjoy the dryer wines, but had to taste several very sweet wines. We’ve been to other wineries that offer tastings with your choice of wine, same number of tastings, but for a fraction of the cost. The wines they offer are very “middle of the road” in palate flavor. I think we personally just enjoy more bold flavored wines. The wine attendant we had was knowledgeable, but she was also distracted wine wine-by-the-glass sales for the adult trick or treat event. My husband and I would stand for five minutes at a time after our 1oz tasting was finished waiting for the next. I don’t fault her for this, but perhaps another staff member could be around to help with other wine sales. Because the tasting today was only offered outside, on a seasonable crisp fall evening, the red wines were very chilled. Red wine is typically served at or slightly above room temperature, which may have affected the tasting experience. We were not impressed.

Friendly staff. Great wines. Has a very welcoming atmosphere.

This is the largest local winery in the immediate area. There are always fun events going on here. Check out the website for the details. The calendar here is always speckled with events that have the potential to interest most everyone. The property is also beautiful. Located in the historic countryside down Route 1.
