They have a humongous store that has everything you could think of. The ambiance is condusive to staying and browsing around. I was able to find my Japanese whisky here at an affordable price. Yamazaki 12 years $130, Hakushu 12 years at $125 and Hibiki 18 years at $ $350. I also was able to find all the rare brands of high end sipping tequila like Clase Azul, Reserva de la Familia, Don Julio 1942 and Teqila Fortaleza. Also do not forget to ask them for a 10% discount. If ever you reach over $100 they will gladly give it even if you do not have their coupon.

Varmax is simply the best place for wine in the Greenwich and Port Chester area. The wine selection is amazing, and every bottle is presented very well, with explanations, wine spectator ratings, and there is always around a guy from the staff qualified enough to give suggestion based on customer's tastes. Great selection of wine and liquor, including international drinks that might be common enough but are not carried at every liquor store. They have an actual selection of sake, not just two or three options. Really extensive wine selection from around the world... I have bought cachaça and pisco here multiple times before, they used to carry it regularly and have some selection, but I don't know if that represents their normal inventory (I mention this because the last time I was there, they had exactly one brand of Peruvian pisco and nothing from Chile, which I always look for to make sure when I run out that I know where to restock from). In any case, I appreciate knowing that I can usually find some more obscure stuff here when I want it.

Enjoyed my first visit on Saturday of a three-day weekend. Nice selection, larger than most other overly-crowded local shops. I liked the local bourbon offerings. Wine selection was wide, perfectly fine (but also nothing particularly special). Line at checkout, but it moved quickly. Decent parking, not as crazy as most of the Greenwich options. Limited selection of mixers, so plan to hit the supermarket too.
