I live down the street and go here often. However, despite me coming here for years the manager did not hesitate to accuse me of "looking like I was going to steal". I entered the store on a video call with my date who I was buying alcohol for that night. We wanted to pick something perfect for the evening and were both being a little indecisive. After a couple minutes I noticed that the manager was following me around the store and getting closer and closer to me by the minute. I got off the call thinking that he would back off a little bit and calm down but that failed. He continued to follow me closely, then approached me rudely saying that I couldn't take pictures in the store, I told him I wasn't taking pictures and showed him the drink recipe I was looking at. The manager then walked away only to return seconds later with a step ladder which he set up directly behind in an effort to descretly look at my phone. I then asked this extremely paranoid person if there was a problem and he immediately behan accusing me of having a motive to steal. He was very rude and aggressive said that I had been in the store for 15 minutes already and had walked from one side to the other, which apparently only shoplifters do. After a brief argument I put my bottle down and walked out completely offended and annoyed. Definitely never going back.

Great selection and multiple tastings the day we went. Knowledgeable staff. If you buy six bottles that have a price ending in 8, you get 20% off. They also have cool 'mystery' six packs of wine at the checkout for $50. We got a French mix. 2 red, 2 white, 2 Rose. Decent wines that we wouldn't have bought otherwise.

Toys R’Us for adults except wines and spirits. You can call it Wines R’Us? This place is just great, from the moment you walk in til you leave the staff is very friendly and helpful in assisting you find the specific wine or spirit you’re looking for. They have a HUGE selection and great prices. You can almost find anything in here! They have all types of wines from Italy, my fave. It’s loaded with a wide selection, it’s like walking into a Total Wine but more of a mom and pop shop. Great spot to shop at, it’s one of my favorites now since I’m new to the area. I know if i go here I will find just what I need no questions asked. I still have to check out their supermarket I’m sure it’ll be just as amazing with a wide selection of things. Definitely my new place to get my wine and more :)

While the place was massive and seemingly containing a huge selection, I was a bit underwhelmed by the variety of whiskey. Particularly the Irish whiskey and scotch selection was less than impressive. With the resurgence of Irish Whiskey specifically I was expecting more options. Nonetheless, the store was well staffed with employees offering assistance. Furthermore it was very clean and designed very well.

I did shop at Stew Leonard's today, they have great samples also. I don't get to Danbury that often but when I do I know where to go when am in town. I respect all that the Leonard's family has given to Ct. from the first Mr. Leonard that delivered milk to our home in South Norwalk, when my brother and I were babies. We lived on the second floor every time he delivered milk he climbed the stairs so my Mom did not have to leave us alone. As my Mom perked the coffee he held either me or my brother. That was over 70 years ago. When my own daughters were small we would walk to one of the milk vending machines in Rowayton. Going up to his store was like a holiday for them to see the live animals out along the Post Road, in Norwalk. They would tell half the neighborhood, we were going to the cow, everyone knew that was Stew's. For over 70 years I want to thank a family that has always shared our lives, and always will. All the best forever.
