The lady who was working on Sunday January 7 th aroumd 2:15 was not friendly and seemed offended when i didn't like the wines .. i.liked only the first Chardonnay and not the other 5. There was no dump bucket on the counter and when I asked her what to do with the wine I didn't like ...she said "I'll dump it down the drain if you really don't like it." Then my husband and I sat down to enjoy the live music after paying $20 which was for the tasting ($12 for only 6 wines) and $8 for a glass of Chardonnay.. my husband had about one more sip in his mountain dew bottle he brought in (he doesn't drink) and the same lady came over to say " outside drinks are not allowed"" in a not nice way ...I should also say that when we walked in and up to the tasting bar ..I asked if I could do a tasting and at first she said "we usually don't do them during the live music but since it's so quiet , we will do one." When I go to a winery , i like to feel like I'm appreciated for giving business to them but right off the bat , this lady wasn't very friendly. It's a bummer because it's a cozy inside with a fireplace and pretty grounds ...customer service needs work for sure ...

The tasting room was beautifully decorated for the holidays, it reminded me of a cozy chalet! There were three new bottlings of their red wines, and the most interesting was the Sunset Red, which I understand was a cab franc in the past. Now it is almost all Syrah, with a splash of St. Croix and Souzou. It was quite nice and I can see myself enjoying it over the holidays. The 20% off sale was a great deal-get in on it while you can! Highly recommend visiting during the winter months-the fireplace and the sunset makes it perfect!

Kevin Roche

Nice place and atmosphere, outside gardens. Live music and the wine was good.

Beautiful location. So many people enjoying the landscapes, wine and live guitar music.

Nicole Tardif

Very nice grounds, wine is on the sweeter side. If you like sweet wine you will like it, if you are looking for full bodied wine probably not the place.

Gregory Kushnir

Very rude and unfriendly. Drove for an hour on Tuesday just to be turned away because they did not want to open the register for just two people.

Heidi Westerberg

Wonderful atmosphere! The music was great! Highly recommend bringing snacks to enjoy with your wine.

Expensive tastings. 12 dollars for .5 ounces....a bit elitist attitude in my opinion....

Christine Bialczak

On a list of my top 10 favorites.

Anthony LoFrisco Jr

Nice space, friendly staff but a stiff $10 fee to taste tiny pours of six wines, some which tasted like they might have been concocted in an wino's garage ...and they don't even take amex. Grrrr. At least you get to keep the tasting glasses as a reminder of where not to go again.

Beautiful place to go. So many picture perfect places to sit and enjoy wine and time with people you love to be with. They had no snacks I think I would have stayed all day had there been food, but got a great dinner recommendation.

My partner and I traveled to Connecticut for a vacation from Maine. The older lady that was at the wine bar greeted us sarcastically starting off. We asked about the wine tasting and it was $12 for 6 samples of wine. We asked how large the sample was. She poured out a sample and said "I can't give you an exact amount.. whether it's one ounce or a half ounce. And no I can't use my measuring cup because it's dirty. Let me know what you want to do." And walked away. Excuse me?! Then she proceeded to talk with the other few older couples nearby. We asked a few more simple questions and got what seemed like annoyed responses. We decided to leave....blue collar people need not enter?

Very balanced and delicious wine selections, especially the St. Croix. Tasting is expensive for 6 wines at $12 and sometimes 7 for $14, as the pours are too small, in my opinion. But overall I truly enjoy the music they have on the weekends, food, wines, views and service.

They are "closed for a private party" so they closed at 5 instead of 6 tonight. Beware - their hours aren't accurate.

Happened upon this place on our way to somewhere else; it looked nice so we stopped in, planning to taste and likely buy a couple of bottles if it was any good at all, because we like distinctive flavors and try to support small, local businesses. But the $14 (!!!) tasting fee, non-refundable, was a complete turnoff. Sure, you get to keep the glass, but we don't need any more glasses. When I questioned the policy, pointing out that in the Finger Lakes we pay as little as $3 and get it credited to a purchase, the tart response was "Welcome to Connecticut." Well, I'm a Connecticut native now living elsewhere but visiting often, and this place will not be on my list.

Beautiful place

Beautiful location but none of their wines really impressed me. All a bit sweeter and their dryer wines just seem super peppery to me. It was an ok experience but that's about it.

Beautiful location, friendly staff. The best wines I've ever had? No, but some options are quite enjoyable AND well worth the price. I recommend taking the time to visit. As for other reviews- I would not take the opinion of a person who presents themselves a wine expert yet lacks basic literacy skills seriously (to verses too? come on now...). I know free tastings are great (free samples- YAY!) but as a Long Islander, I know many wineries in high property tax regions cannot afford to provide free tastings to every visitor- cut them some slack! When I was there I got a nice discount on a half case. I've only been once but looking forward to going back next week and I will be bringing friends! :-)

I really enjoyed the Rose. The tasting room is literally a planked over indoor swimming pool. The barkeep that greeted me is exactly what I expected. She is pretty no nonsense and very informative. I tried the wines and told her what myself and my wife liked. She gave suggestions and even included some dessert wines we may enjoy. They offer a 10% discount for fire, ems, vets. You by three and there is a discount on the 4th bottle I believe. They have live music and I was given the historic the vineyard. I will be returning again. We live down the street and I am looking forward to learning more about this vineyard.

Another small winery in the state of CT. See a lot of people complaining about tasting fee.. that is expected in the northeast. The wines are not the best, but do enjoy the St. Croix. Beauty tasting room and outside deck. Nice place to stop over for an hour. They've grown a lot in the last 10 years which is nice to see.
