Went for a concert. The space was great. Was disspointed to find out that 21+ means they don't want ANY children at all. They do allow leashed pets though. They allowed outside food but no beverages at all... Not even water! Felt they could have been a little more relaxed about the outside beverages and young children.

Jonathan Edwards is an amazing winery. Their wine is delicious of course, but the winery adds so much to the experience. The vineyard is very warm and welcoming with accommodations for any special occasion both in and outdoors. I highly recommend visiting if you are in the area. Our favorite Jonathan Edwards wine is their Gewürztraminer.

I can honestly say i have NEVER been to a place so RUDE and disrespectful. We don't know why,bUt we felt unwelcome, as soon as our ladies group of 12 walked up. It was pouring rain and we asked if we might have a table under the tent. We were told no (they have too many tables, already) This is AFTER they took $35 per person!! We then proceeded to spend a few hundred EACH on sales items! While we were shopping, they tried to take our chairs,etc.... Do NOT Go here. Too many other nice places (STONINGTON ,for example is welcoming, friendly and fantastic wine)

Madeline Carignan

Good wine and cozy atmosphere on a winter Friday afternoon. Mostly white wines but they have one red they make there and a few from California that were good. A bit pricey however the pours were very generous so it was fair. Looking forward to trying again in summer time

Very nice winery with a good selection. They also offer cheese, crackers, and other small items for purchase. Prices were pretty on par for a winery. Met the owner who was very helpful and outgoing. Does get crowded on weekends and seating is somewhat limited.

Laura Tillinghast

I have to say the prettiest farm in all of north stoningon - possibly eastern connecticut. stonewalls abound - wonderful landscaping, and the vines go on for what seems like miles under an endless sky. The spring and harvest festivals are amazing, but the mid-week fundraising music nights are not to be missed. BTW- sunrise Easter morning service by the local Congregational Church is not to be missed if you are in the area.

One of two of my favorite vineyards in CT! Delicious wines and gorgeous views! If you like white wines this will be the place!

Went to the Lobster bake at this winery and enjoyed the food - the band Sugar also performed which was a nice touch. Over all nice event - however the wine is mediocre.

Kerri Gravel

Wines are pretty bland, not great. Grounds are beautiful.

We went for a wine tasting it was 4:31 and she said they stop at 4:30. She could only serve us by the glass or buy a bottle. We bought a bottle. They would rather miss out on four people at 15 each for one minute and sell us a twenty five dollar bottle. Their loss plus we may have purchased more wine. Oh well like I said their loss. But still can't get over it...one minute maybe even seconds... crazy. Not five or ten minutes only one minute. Most places would of still done it. I guess there not most places. Definitely they need to work on customer relations. Beautiful place lacked the personal touch.

Nicole Tardif

Beautiful vineyard! Wine is really good.

Mark Buck

Great place. Great wines.

Really great place for an event/wedding and the wine is very good as well. They have a cool summer concert series too. The only bummer is archane CT liquor laws where you can only drink inside, not out on the lawn/grounds.

Went here on our anniversary last year and went on the tour. We had so much fun and the wine was fantastic, so much so that we joined their wine club. The scenery and location is beautiful and would recommend you visit on a nice warm sunny day!

Ralph

Wedding here. Beautiful setting, food was great and lots of wine !

Rhonda Wilson

Always a great place to relax, have a picnic and of course some great wine

Lesson learned: before you go, make sure they don’t host corporate event that day. Else, you’ll get treated as a trash. I haven’t experience this kind of attitude to the client/member for some time, and not at the place where you leave several hundred dollars on the table.

Very disappointing experience with their "Grapenuts" wine membership. There appeared to be much confusion, misinformation, misunderstanding and general lack of ability to get our wine to us as promised. We were to receive 4 shipment orders throughout the year. Only one was delivered without incident. We had to contact the winery to inquire as to where our never delivered boxes were and only then were notified of issues with their bookkeeping and computers. There were issues with credit card input, POS systems etc. This occurred 3 out of 4 times. Although we were told issues were rectified last week and that our order was being process, we received an email this week telling us of another problem! We were so disappointed and frustrated that we wound up canceling the membership before our last box to our membership was sent and asked them to keep the box!

Lorenzo Mennucci

nice place to stop for wine tasting

Len Marafitte

Grat place to enjoy a glass or bottle of wine and relax People are friendly .

A beauttiful setting with delicious wines. A seven wine tasting is a good deal at $15.

Andrew Stinton

By far, the best winery.

Jason Barcomb

REALLY Enjoy the Lodi Zin and Lodi Cabernet. Friendly staff and beautiful grounds.

Karen Stine

The best winery in the state.

Alexander Lee

Really great old world wine for this area. I went in a Saturday and it was really crowded. The employee working tried their best to accommodate everyone as best as possible.

Smaller deck areas but large tent set up. Wines are pricey for Connecticut, but good. I really enjoyed the Riesling.

Was a wine member until today. I would not recommend becoming a member as the wines you get a choices of the vineyard. We do not like cabernet franc ( got 2 bottles) or Port ( got 2 bottles).. yes we have gifted these in the past but that only further markets Jonathan Edward's winery. We asked to switch out the wine to our desirable wines with an emphatic no. So ....we canceled our membership until we can choose the wines we want. Btw.. .they are overpriced but we love going there and enjoying a glass of wine...great venue for that

Colin Shea

Great wine and great service!

Mike McKay

My best winery

Mark Aprea

Very nice locale. Wine was good. Have a lot of weddings so had to leave early.

Andrew Heist

Music was great. Wine is full retail price after paying over $60 for a ticket. I was forced to dump out my water bottle on the way in, and then there was no water available except for purchasing bottled water. This is bad practice for an establishment serving alcohol as well as wasteful for a farm.

Peter Combs

Good wines and nice décor. Staff was informative and pleasant to speak with. The scenery around the vineyard was good to take some photos.

Others may have had amazing experiences at this vineyard, but I can only mention my experience and mine was disappointing. I'm a red wine guy, and so I can't comment on their white wines. But my wife did mention she liked their Gewurztraminer. The reds were decent, but not something I felt inclined to buy. Regarding our tasting experience, it felt like our wine steward was more interested in hearing exotic stories about Spain, English breakfasts, blood pudding, and cured meats narrated by folks sitting besides us (and catered to by another steward), rather than talking to us or keeping us engaged. To her credit, she did mention what notes and flavors we were going to taste in the next wine, but that description was already listed in the tasting menu. Instead, simple talk such as "Where're you guys from, what brings you here, etc.?" goes a long way. We may not end up buying a bottle of wine, but we surely would've left with a good taste. Instead, I don't think I'm going to recommend this place to anybody. I'm actually looking forward to visiting Clyde's Cider Mill in Old Mystic, which might be low-key for wines, but may have people with better interpersonal skills managing the show.

BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPE. WINES ARE REALLY GOOD. MAKE SURE TO CHECK THE CLEARANCE SECTION IN THE GIFT SHOP BEFORE YOU LOOK AT REGULAR PRICED ITEMS! THEY HAVE REALLY NICE ITEMS ON CLEARANCE!

Jim Ashton

Great wine, local chocolates, and Westerly R.I. oysters all come together at their Dark and Decedent event.

Jennifer Moseley

Nice winery not too far from the casinos. They have tastings/tour as well as wine by the bottle.

Dan Irwin

Claire Suzuki

Good balanced wines and hospitality! Some of the wines are bringing grapes from California but they diss really good job wine making. Busy depends of time of the day but really good atmosphere.w

Denise Stetson

Fantastic show by Jonathan Edwards, perfect venue. My husband doesn't drink wine, wish a local beer was an option other than water or bottled tea. Other than that, a great evening!

A boutique winery specializing in small batch vintages, each year's harvest showing uniquely. They use their own estate Connecticut grown grapes and offer a complementary line of California wines made from their Napa Valley grapes. The Connecticut white wines are bright, crisp, citrusy and go well with light food and goat cheese. The local reds are distinctive and memorable in the style of old world French reds from the Loire Valley. The California wines are everything you'd expect, but in a refined style that doesn't tire and is easy to pair with any food or by themselves. The tasting room is spacious and comfortable, offering a small selection of cheeses and other wine-friendly bites. You can bring your own food, but please be respectful and clean up after yourself. Mystic Pizza is a few minutes away on the traffic circle. Summer brings live bands and easy sipping in a friendly family atmosphere set in bucolic bliss.

Valerie Nyhagen

Beautiful scenery, would make a gorgeous setting for a wedding. Reasonably priced tastings; Gewurztraminer is delicious, as is the Merlot and the dessert wine. Large open tasting room so you don't feel crammed in. Patio or back porch are open for sitting out and enjoying the scenery as well. Plan to come back!

Steve Frank

No doubt this is a beautiful place to visit on a summer or autumn day. the wines are overpriced compared to other nearby wineries and they are not much different. I'm giving them the five stars because they are a good place to visit besides the price.

John Flatley jr

There is no doubt that the fall harvest festival is a great success. An incredible time is had by everyone. I understand about no outside alcohol on the property but not being able to bring in unopened bottles of water is a little rediculess

Scott Dowler

Very balanced wine quality across all 7 varieties. The location was picturesque and romantic. One negative was the house flies that were pervasive in the tasting room. However, the servers were excellent and there were only a few things that kept this vineyard from a 5 star rating.

Ron Baker

Great place to hang out and enjoy fine wine.

Jason Glenn

Such a fun, romantic, summertime spot.

Nathan B

This place is absolutely beautiful. The wines were mediocre. Staff was nice. I like to hear alot more about the wines than what was told to us. Not a bad place. I would recommend other wineries over this one though.

Melissa Vlasak

Great customer service, thanks to Sandy, and delicious wine! There were so many people at the winery and the staff were able to successfully serve wine tastings to all of us flawlessly. It was raining, so we didn't get to enjoy the outdoors.

Joseph Lastraglio

Had a great time. Wine was good. Eric was better. He made the experience enjoyable

Endri Mosko

If I would have to rank the best vineyards in New England, with no doubts I would had placed JEV on the top 15th list. The wine is delicious. JEV uses Californian grapes which are the best in US territory. Personally, I would had preferred a 100% New England product but the whether doesn't promises good grapes. Definitely, I would go back again.

John Collins

Great wine, and beautiful deck looking over the vines.

Lorie M

Terrific place to look at. Not a great place to spend time on a picnic. The patio areas have a few tables and chairs but they occupy quickly. Would be nice to have a shaded area to throw a blanket down and have a bite to eat. I guess the main objective for making the trek there would be the wine. In my opinion, the wines are a bit on the lackluster side and are over priced. The Stone Table White and the Napa Valley Syrah were the two that stood out for me.

Luis Cabral

Sat in traffic to go and have some tasting @ 420 they said that they are closing , we can't serve you. So when they say 430 they mean 4:20 It was a birthday celebration to top it all

Michael Penton

A beautiful winery, in a beautiful location. We have been several times, and had no idea they had concerts. It was a great venue and so much fun.

Mark Moseley

Nice place to stop by and visit when you're in the area. Not too far from the casinos if you're looking for something a little different to do. Winery itself is small but very nice. Location is lovely. Wine testings are available for a price in the bar area, which is in a nice farmhouse style. Wine was very good.

Kaitlyn Mahoney

john nachio

Steve Mayer

Very nice selection for tastings. We will go back.

Tyler Joe

Me and my wife frequently visit here and the staff is always friendly. Great wines and good company equals a nice place to go and relax. Has great views from the patio overlooking the vineyard. Highly recommend!

Kathleen Freund

Favorite vineyard by far. The wine is exceptional, the facility and grounds are beautiful and relaxing. You can bring in food too. It does get crowded on the weekends.

Stephanie Watson

Love it here. Nothing like a glass or two of their excellent Pinot Grigio on a cold, snowy day.

Dean Deluca

Nice place to visit with great staff.

Chris Brossette

Great place for wine testing. Off the beaten path but a great place to visit

Drew McCusker

Wonderful wines and events

Trudie Beestrum

Really good wines. Reds and whites.

Tyler Krick

Way too hot and way too loud, not worth the trip. If they get air conditioning it could be good.

Went with a bachelorette group a few years ago and found the staff very rude. We had been to other CT wineries that weekend (Saltwater Farm, Stonington Vineyards, etc). Everyone agrees Edwards was the worst even though it was the one the Bride had been looking forward to the most!

One of the best in CT wine trail

A year ago this would have been a five star. This year we went with friends, we were informed that the case club has been canceled. We don't live in the area and this was our chance to use the club benefits. Since we bought our case last August, we still should have been able to use the benefits. Then we did a tasting. We bought 2 bottles . We were in shock at the price. Dramatic price increase since last year. I was so disappointed, that I canceled my plans to go there with our other friends two days later.

Amanda Hepler

Beautiful scenery, great wine, fantastic time. Definitely worth the visit.

Susan Hermonot

Love this vineyard! We have been to multiple vineyards in the area and JE is our favorite. We have been visiting them for 6 years now whether it be for a tasting or festival. There are many varieties of wines which should be suitable for most. We had a wonderful trip there recently hung out with friends and had a nice picnic on the lawn. Loved the Cabernet franc and the gewürztraminer.

Jessica Shea
