The wine selection appears to be quite large. I can't really say much more as I don't drink wine. Very good beer selection, but everything here is more expensive than most any other place you will go.

I've been coming to this shop for five years. The service is hit or miss, laying somewhere between overly aggressive and "what the eff are you doing in our shop?" Last Saturday, store was quiet, yet I stood scratching my head at the myriad beer selection. Did any employee say "boo" in those 10 minutes? I walked out. Went to Mo's.

I called the store looking for some rare and hard to find Bourbons. Patrick one of the owners took my call and invited me in to meet and discuss what Bourbons I liked and how to get on the “List”. Patrick greeted me and showed me what he had in stock. After a quick Q&A He had a good feel for what my tastes are and what to show me. I was in a little hurry to get home for an appointment then, he brought out some specimen Bourbons to taste. Michter’s 10 yr, 2 Elijah Craig’s and to top it off a Whistle 10 year that I have had before but, this was different. His own bottled barrel. What a difference. I am a novice but a quick student to the Bourbon world and have visited at least 30 stores across the state. As they say, first experiences tell a story. Patrick, thanks again for you time and of course the Amazing store experience. I look forward to my next visit when I am not rushed. A must visit Paul

When I went to check out the manager claimed my CT driver's license was fake. He said he would keep it unless we called the police and had them verify its authenticity. I know for a fact that my ID is real, so I told him to call the police. When I said that, he rudely threw the card down on the counter at me and said he would just "let me go." Unfortunate because the store seemed nice, but I will not be returning here. I am also considering filing a complaint with the Fairfield Police, it seems to me that this store is unable to properly verify real driver's licenses, and they gave me back the license after they claimed it was fake, which I don't believe businesses are supposed to do (I'll have to double check that one).

Great selection of harder to find items like meads, bitters and more exotic liqueurs. Extremely knowledgeable and very friendly staff. Custom selected single barrel bourbons (they go fast). Reasonable prices.

Excellent curated selection of wines from everywhere. The sales people are very knowledgeable and spend ample time with customers. There are tasting events from time to time.

Dan Sutter

Excellent beer selection. They have the "old reliables" and an incredible amount of micro brews and craft brews in stock. They're constantly bringing in new beers, so it's a worthwhile activity to go in regularly and get something new. On top of that, local brewers do tasting most weeks, so you can get the opportunity to try new things before you buy.

********************edit 4/8/18********************** while every word below is true, Patrick has followed up, (almost "relentlessly" ;-) and showed a genuine concern to show me my first impression is not their norm. I am fairly convinced this is true. I still think the core of the issue here, that is only 1 person being able to/allowed to answer what beers are in stock, is the wrong process. In todays day and age, people not only want accurate information, but quickly too, not "wait till so and so comes in to get that information." I can see why they may think it's best, to avoid error, but with todays technology, I just don't think it should be necessary with the right process and procedures. We'll have to continue to agree to disagree here I suppose. All that being said, I would give them another chance should the right things become available that make it worth the drive for me all the way there. Then, should it go the way it seems Patrick's follow up with me makes me think it will, I can edit this further for all the readers sakes. *************************end edit****************************** Can't even describe the absurdity of the phone call I just had with "one of the owners" Janice Monteleone... i saw several (10 actually) different items on their website, all completely listed with SKU/item numbers, prices and all. Their site invites to "come on it" on top of the same pages that list these items as for sale. I almost just drove down there, thinking, there is no way that all 10 items could be wrong. Since I am over 1hr+ away, decided to call first, & Janice answered. This is where it took absurd turn. I simply asked Janice if she could check a few Item #'s from their site before I drove down there to confirm stock. She asked which items. I only got one of the items out of my mouth when she said she had to have "renzo" call me, 'cause "he knows about those". I then asked when that may be because I wanted to head out for the Day and plan if it included a 1hour plus trip. She put me on hold and told me renzo would be in @ noon. I then asked if she could just plug in the 10 item #'s to check stock. She kept repeating over & over I need to "wait & talk to Renzo". Baffled, I asked why she couldn't tell me if items they advertised were in stock or not, I didn't need anything but that, so why do I need to talk to their beer specialist, if I had no question on the beer, only wanting to know if they were in stock or not, & I have the exact item numbers from their site? Then it got silly. Her response was that she believes they are not for sale, but "in their library". HUH? so I asked, why the item #'s & prices? She went back to "I would need to talk to renzo." I repeated it was not one or two items, which could be an innocent mistake, but 10 different item #'s, all with prices, & item #'s, all showing available for sale. I started getting a bit upset, with her keep cutting me off & repeating I'd need to talk to renzo, avoiding questions like a politician. Probably raised my voice slightly (which my wife sitting next to me The Whole time agrees I did, though not to the yelling level Janice accuses me of, again according to my wife sitting next to me during the whole conversation. I point the wife thing out because the next part is the icing on the cake. When I asked why, as an owner, would she allow items to be intentionally advertised with sku/item #'s as for sale, with prices & all. Only to have them "not for sale in our library only", potentially getting people like myself to drive from a distance, only to find out that ALL TEN ARE NOT REALLY FOR SALE AS THEY APPEAR, how would that be for the potential patron... she hung up on me! I can't believe this kind of thing, or why they would be advertising like this??? oh, and btw, after getting hung up on, I called back to get her name, and Janice still assured me I'd get a call back from renzo at noon, & it's now after 1pm, with no return call.

Found several rare beers including two types of sours and a habenero style, the latter I heard Harry’s distributed and drove 30 minutes out of my way after work to get some. Went to pay and happily showed my ID. To my surprise they instantly wanted to see the ID of my girlfriend who had no wallet or form of currency. Was told to leave and was not allowed to purchase. A person underaged or using a fake would not want to purchase 12 craft beers especially with habenero. Absolutely terrible experience.

Need a great craft beer choice? Trying to find the right kind of wine for yourself, or as a gift? Looking for a nice bottle of bourbon to sit and enjoy? Then this is the place. The staff is better than any other store I've found in Connecticut and when you see the same fa m friendly faces all the time, you really get the chance to become part of their "family". I drive from monroe just to do my shopping here because I haven't found anywhere, or any other staff, that cares as much as the people at Harry's do!

Richard Wood

Awesome service! They went out of their way to accommodate me! I simply mentioned a special need which I needed to keep 2 bottles of wine cold outside. The gentleman went in the back and gave me wine bottle cozies at no charge! A definite WOW moment. I will shop there whenever possible from now on!
