Not a good experience... I ordered 12 bottles. Had to follow up over a week later to see if it even shipped.. It had not. Another week later, the box shows up but only 9 bottles are included. Apparently they were "out of stock" of the other 3 bottles so just decided not to ship them or let me know that. Not a good way to earn new customers.

They take forever to ship your order. Mine was only sent after numerous requests to cancel my order. Unless you’re not in a hurry, and by that I mean, planning to have your wine arriving weeks after their promised shipping date, I would never order here. I know I won’t.

I Finally received my wine over a month after I ordered . Five weeks later. Many calls to customer service with no response. Finally someone picks up and tells me there was a two week delay in August -no phone call or email letting me know wine delivery was delayed by 3 weeks! In addition to zero customer service, I ordered one vintage and was sent another without a phone call to give me option on declining 2016 vintage and the order wasn’t even completed . I called numerous times and finally got Susan on the line in customer service . After relating my experience she apologized profusely and told me the last customer service person ‘wasn’t doing her job’ and was shocked that I was sent a 2016 vintage instead of the 8 bottles I ordered of 2014 . And she couldn’t imagine why my order wasn’t complete other then they no longer had that wine (that is on the website to order). Again no phone call. She said she would get back to me by the end of the day and let me know how this all could have possibly happened ! Uh..still waiting for call. I’ve learned my lesson-I will order my wine direct from Vineyard when possible . An update to my review-Susan did follow up and call me back a couple of days later and offered to take the wine back with full refund or if I choose to keep credit me a discount. To her credit she did follow up and I appreciated her effort. Hopefully, things will get better there.

Untrusted. We ordered on May 21, was told on May 30th after an inquiry that it would ship the week of June 4th. Since then, they have not responded to e-mails and voice mails on the status of the order which shows processing. We have had to dispute the charge on our credit card.

I ordered a case of wine on October 18 and never received it. Calls to inquire regarding my order never answered. I had to finally file a dispute with my credit card detailing that I never received the product in late November after Thanksgiving. Buyers beware of this company. Communication is non-existent and they charge you immediately. An expected ship date is not given when the order posts which usually comes in an email detailing order processing and shipping details.

Placed my order of a full case of one type of wine August 11th, it is now Sept.17 and just made my weekly call, they still do not have an answer for my order. I stated they obviously are not able to fill my order and requested a refund. Responded with they were looking into my order further and will get back to me shortly. Being thoroughly disgusted at this point decided to read up on the company and now seeing how poorly the reviews are for grapeswine. Lesson to be learned read reviews before placing a large order!

0 Stars - I echo all others in buying from this company is the worst experience I've ever had. I made an order that was for an event, it didn't arrive for over a month despite several calls from me to them - customer service does not respond to emails or call back, when I was able to get through every time it's an excuse or re-direct that they will get back to me with an answer and never call. They never sent updates on when the product would be shipped. I then cancelled over the phone and received a confirmation email, didn't receive an update on my refund for weeks, they then still shipped the order to me a month after I had cancelled long after the event I needed it, I'm now having to fight to ship it back and get my refund. NEVER BUY FROM THIS SITE!

Same experience as everyone else here. Ordered wine a month before Mother's Day as a present, followed up three times, was told they'd fix it 3 times, they never did. Literally, the worst experience ordering something online I've EVER encountered. Not sure how they are able to operate such a sham business. Also contacted the BBB and left a review there - I'd encourage others to do this so hopefully at some point they get their license-to-sell revoked.

I wish I would have read the reviews on Google prior to putting in my order. I ordered 2 cases of fairly expensive California Cabernets almost 3 months ago and I still haven't received my wine. The company processed my payment the minute I purchased the wine so I paid in full but I have nothing to show for it. They are absolute crooks!! Their customer service is almost none existent as I call weekly and keep getting the same runaround. This has been by far the worst wine buying experience I have ever encountered. I am in the process of filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and working with my credit card company to help me recover my money. I am shocked they are still in business. Do not order wine from this company!!!!

UPDATE at bottom. I ordered wine from this company. Over the next three months, I was told that it was backordered, they'd get back with me for shipping information, it was shipped, etc., etc. If they make things right, I'll repost that they are honorable. The company try's to coordinate it the shipments with the weather to avoid spoilage. The customer services is really good. I live in Dallas, so shipping is a bit much, but since there are no sales taxes, you can offset the cost mentally. I am no longer buying wine off the internet, but if I was, I would go back to them.

Abominable! Stay away! Waited 6 weeks for the mixed case I ordered till I finally canceled it. Never rec’d response to my email inquiry for the status. And nobody answers customer svc number, but they answer the sales number - then just to be put in endless hold! On top of it, the wine I ordered showed up as the featured wine for sale in one of their emails! And yet they couldn’t fulfill my order?! Do they not want to make a sale?? Don’t know how to run a business. Disappointing. Infuriating.

Don't order online. They will not ship your order. Called cust service 5-6 times per week for an order placed two months ago. Assured me that "they are on it, should ship shortly". Currently disputing $600 of wine which was never shipped. Also the sales department keeps calling me to sell me more bottles?!? What planet are these people on. Just got word today the my credit card charge back request was accepted by my bank. Order placed in Jan and Feb are finally resolved now in mid-may.

Do not deal with this company! After almost 3 month and no shipment, they agreed to cancel my order. After many emails, they never answer the phone or call you back, they agreed to cancel my order. After a week no credit showed up on my card. I emailed and got no response. Had to call the credit card company to handle the issue. Beware.

I guess I should have checked the reviews prior to ordering. I placed an order 10/11/18 and until now I have not seen it. After many trials on calling, I received one email saying they are behind on the order and will receive it that week. Well 2 weeks later nothing still. If you are not in a hurry to get the wine, I guess it is fine but still I would want someone to be in touch with me or at least answer the call. Update: After almost 2 months, I finally got my wines. Well sort of, I ordered a certain year and they sent me a different year. I advised them about it and they responded with a fine print on their website about "Vintage Policy-- - We will automatically substitute wines priced $20 or below with a comparable vintage of the same wine if vintage chosen is no longer available”, no I am sorry you were disappointed or something in the lines of that. It may be true that the wines may not taste that different but still. If you have a lot of time to wait for wine that may or may not be what you ordered, take your risk with this company (altho they are cheaper than others)

Google should not be allowing this company to advertise for online sales. You can order, and they charge credit card right away... but then you wait for months and don't hear anything about your order, let alone receive it. Inquiries result in empty promises to look into the delay. I finally got a refund when I told them my next step was going to be a dispute via the credit card company. This makes me not trust Google shopping or other companies with Google ads.

Would give a zero if possible. They will endlessly spam you with their “great deals” on wine that they’re just trying to clear out of inventory and is often times spoiled. They’ve changed their email from grapes to “institution wine” this week and started emailing me again. Clearly trying to fool people into thinking it’s not “grapeswine”. Avoid at all costs

On 04/09/ 2018 I put an order for a case of wine. They charged my CC immediately. After 10 days of waiting for a confirmation and tracking, I contacted them They told me that they did not have on stock and have to wait another week and another week for shipment. Three weeks later I called back and after several calls and emails I was told that I have two wait another week to get the wine and another week for shipment!! I can't believe this company is in service with their horrible customer service. I just cancelled the order and hope they refund my credit card. I'll never do business with them again.

I ordered wine to be shipped from CT to California from their website. The website is very easy to navigate and to find what you are looking for. They shipped the product quickly and provided timely tracking information. I received the product in good condition. I will order from them again, as their prices are good and their customer service is even better.

FRAUDULENT COMPANY DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. Order from this company at your own risk. I have had the same issue that others have had in previous reviews. I ordered a case of wine on 4/18. After two weeks I contacted them by phone asking where my order was as I had not received a shipment. I received an email saying that they were having troubles shipping but have a new vendor and I should see a shipping confirmation the following week. That week comes and goes with no shipping info or additional response from the company. I call a two more times and leave messages with no response. Also sent two emails. Finally received and email response on 5/14 that I will see a shipping confirmation the following week. Again, that week goes by with no shipping information. Called the first week of June and this time instead of asking for customer service and getting a voicemail, I selected new order and got a live person. They transferred me to another live person and requested a refund. She said they would process the refund by the end of the week. No refund came through and called back on 6/11. Got another person who said that he is the usual customer service person but he was out of the office last week and had someone else filling in. He could find no note on my cancellation and refund request. He said he would process and followed up with an email to me that day stating the the cancellation request was received and the refund request forwarded to accounting for processing. Here it is, 6/26, and still no refund. I finally had to open a fraud complaint with my credit card company. Save yourself the trouble and DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY.

After 3 weeks I contacted them and they said it was coming “next week” due to backorders and promised to call me back- surprise! no call. Have used this company for years and have been pleased with their selection of wines. Lately their customer service has declined. Deliveries take over a month if product is even delivered and communication is poor. No one calls back in a timely fashion and when you call customer service there is a recorded message that tells you how busy they are. Interestingly they put your charges through the minute after the order is placed. I will never use them again.

Contact another vendor the same wine and it was shipped the same day. They are scam artists and have horrendous customer service. Disputed payment with credit card company to get money returned.

I only wish I would have read all these reviews before I placed an order for 24 bottles of wine. I have now had to file a complaint with BBB because like all of you, I never got my wine. Clearly this is a scam and a credit card fraud. Have any of you gone to the police? That's my next stop.

Based on the reviews and my experience I can pretty much sum up this business. 1) They take a long time to fill an order (about 2 weeks for our order to ship). But then took 3 days once we were notified that it shipped (not bad). We were in no rush. 2) They do have "fine print" that states they can substitute if your wine is not currently available. That would suck for us and not acceptable. However, I was told that if you note in the Order Comments when you place your order "no substitutions" then they will wait longer for your wine to show up or they will cancel your order if not available. 3) Someone over 21 has to be home when delivered so you can sign for it. 4) They had the best prices for the wine we were looking for. The wine was well packaged. What we ordered was what they shipped. We were in no hurry and based on other reviews we expected it to take a month to show up (was actually quicker than we expected). We were very happy with the experience and will order from them again once this case of wine is gone :)

First of all it’s really unbelievable that they are still in business and secondly why do the credit card companies allow them the utilize their payment systems? Quick update (3/15/2019). It's been six months now since I placed my order... Still no refund from Sour Grapes. ***************************************** I ordered one case while attending a wine tasting event on September 15th, 2018. They charged my credit card the same day. I thought I will be enjoying my Bordeaux by Thanksgiving but it didn't happen due to the "delayed shipment". I waited patiently till Christmas then filed a dispute with master card. It's been over five months now since I placed my order and I still didn't get the refund. And don't get me wrong, their wine tasting events are fantastic. If you have a chance to attend one with Jim, go for it. You will love it. Just don't order anything if you want your wine to be delivered within the next three to six months. Or if you like to have endless conversations with grapes' answering machine... What you can do instead is to drive four minutes to Stew Leonard's Wines or seven minutes to Total Wine. Their business model is different, you pay for the wine and you can drink it the same day. So it's not as "unique" experience as the one that Grapes can give you.

The only easy part is when they take your money. When I called to order, I was advised they had 20+ cases of the wine I wanted on hand. After 2 weeks without shipping, I email asking where my order is. A week later I get a response stating my wine will not arrive to their shipping warehouse for another week, then I would be sent tracking. Two weeks later, no tracking, no replies, and now a disconnected phone number. UPDATE: Their phone did get turned back on and the order was eventually filled 2 months later after constantly having to check in. Like reviews before me, I guess if time is on your side and you are in no rush, the pricing and selection is there.

They did refund the dollars for half the order after a month and two(2) calls. But still no wine on the second half and no dollars. Tried to call eight (8) times today. I should’ve have check up on these reviews. I agree, I would give 0 if that was possible. They are not capable of conducting e-commerce. There’s absolutely no follow up (although promised three times), the male customer rep is irresponsible and incompetent, in addition to being so nonchalantly rude about his empty promises. Save yourselves time and the hassle, and order from more reliable sources. NEVER GIVING MY BUSINESS AGAIN. Update: 5/31/2019 Cancelled order on 5/17, and still have not received either the wine or the refund. So, called back only to find out “not sure what happened. We are short staffed, and billing was out of office a few days. I will follow up”. Since I absolutely refuse wasting more time, I had my band handle the situation. If they would allow for 0 stars, that would be my rating. Placed an order of around $475 to send port, prosecco and other spirits to my cousins to thank them for hosting Thanksgiving. NOT only did the order not get there by Thanksgiving as the site promised, but it is now March. The last time I reached out to Neil at Grapeswine, I was assured that they were just waiting for one more delivery to come into their shop and that the order would ship at the end of the week back in January. I emailed Neil again in February as the shipment was never sent. He didn't respond. Today, March 21, 2019, I just called Neil again and he said my order had been cancelled. This was not done by me and he had no other information such as who cancelled it and the date on which it was cancelled. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced! Stay away from ordering anything on line from this company.

Avoid buying wine from Grapes! I buy wine from all over the country and have never encountered a more dysfunctional and unprofessional vendor. They push sales hard, but once the sale is made, they go dark. I made several purchases within a short time frame with no delivery or follow up. I inquired about sales receipts or confirmations, but they were never sent. I called customer service, but they either never returned my calls or, when they picked up, they told me they would call back with more information, but never did. They later made excuses about back orders and delays, then tried to convince me to accept different wines of “similar value” that I had no interest in purchasing. Only when I took this up with American Express and denied payment did they suddenly (months after my orders) find and ship my wine. It’s a pretty simple business: deliver what you sell. Unfortunately, Grapes doesn’t deliver!

Worst ever. Don’t order from this company. I wish I would have checked the reviews before ordering my wine. I ordered my case on 2/7/19 and have yet to receive it despite multiple attempts to contact the company. I have been told it was “in process” and “shipping out” this week several times. Once, I was told it shipped but then was returned due to breakage (which I find highly unlikely but whatever). The latest was a delay on one of the wines (which I also find suspect), and that it was shipping out “this week” - rrrrrright! I won’t hold my breath. Ridiculous.

Do not buy from this group! Worst customer service I’ve ever encountered. Ordered Wine over 4 months ago. No one will answer customer service phone. They send emails telling you your order is on the way, but it never comes. I had to call the Sales Dept and demand to speak to someone in customer service. They kept telling me that my wine was on the way but never came. I had to call sales department every day and demand to speak with someone until I finally received a refund. Just Horrible!!! They should be ashamed!

Do not order anything from the company. Do not be swooned by their salesperson or their deals. It is a sham. When you call the persons number that completed the transaction, they no longer work there. They will charge your credit card then never send you any products.

I put in an order on January 14th.. Since that date I have been lied to about delivery of my order 7 times.. I was given excuses from Tim Crakes and Dave Sitar that ranged from unexpected days off, to ice in the midwest, to vintage mistakes, to family emergencies.. Since asking for a refund, on February 11, I have been told 4 times that my card had been refunded. I called today (February 27th) to ask what the status was and spoke with Neil Ward who said he is not sure what happened, but the credit will be posted within the next 48 hours. It is an online vendor (but I live close by) so I told him I would come to the store to swipe my card for the refund (which i have offered 6-7 times already) but he said "that's not how this works" right before he hung up on me. Every person I have spoken to has been a liar.. I am not sure if they are trained to perform like this by those in charge or if that is just who they are, but everything about this experience has been awful. You would think that with reviews and ratings like this, an attempt to be better would be a first priority, but unfortunately, this does not seem to be the case. I would like my money back.

I paid for the wine on July 3, 2019. It has not shipped yet. I have left hundereds of messages. Tried everything. I'm going to have to take legal action to get a refund. This is terrible.

Do not buy from them. Ordered +$400 worth of wine six months ago that was never delivered. Constant run around about the delivery and or a refund. The company is a total scam.

This store front is a scam!!!! Do not order from these crooks. If they actually have a store front the DA should be prosecuting them for theft. Interestingly now on google search, typing in Grapeswine defaults to the URL instead of offering page options with reviews. Is Google in cahoots now with crooks? If so, Bing here I come. I am not finished trying to recover my money (I too never received my wine) and working to get them shut down.
