Very disappointed with my experience.
I planned a route of wine tastings on a Friday for my moms birthday, as a surprise to her final birthday destination/present. Dalice Elizabeth was to be our first stop. To be extra cautious, I called every winery on our route about two weeks in advance to ensure that they would be open on the 14th and inquire if we needed to make an apt or anything like that. When I called Dalice Elizabeth with these questions a few weeks ago, the lady was pretty off putting to begin with but then assured me they would only be closing the 8th/9th and will be open on the 14th. She also assured me that I didn’t need to make an apt and could just come at any point. Well Birthday comes, I drive my mom to Dalice Elizabeth as the first surprise stop. No one in the parking lot, but that’s fine because it’s a Friday afternoon. We go up to the door for wine tastings, walk in and there’s no one in the tasting room. We take a seat to wait, no one comes. Eventually I call and get their voicemail only to find out they suddenly decided to close that day and only open on Saturday. Talk about ruining the start of the birthday festivities. I was embarrassed and could see the disappointment in my mom. Thank goodness all the other wineries in the area lived up to their expectations and we ended up having a great day. If you’re considering this spot, just skip it for the bigger/well known wineries with better customer service.
