You will see all the reviews of people who purchase the services and products of Chamard Vineyards (Winery) in the area close to Connecticut.
Right now this firm receives a rating of 4.4 stars over 5 and the rating has been based on 130 reviews.
You must have seen that the average score it has is quite positive, and it is founded on a large number of feddbacks, so we can think that the valuation is quite faithful. If many people have bothered to give their review when they are pleased with the business, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to give evaluations when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Winery corresponds to the category of French restaurant.
Lame. Wine "tastings" are not free. The place is a wine bar with an extremely limited selection (Chamard Vineyard only) and high prices. Food is expensive and portions are scant. The "tasting room" is just part of the restaurant in which the noise level is excruciating and rarely lets up. I wanted to like the place. It is VERY cute and all. Yet there's no way I will go back.
Very nice and cozy in th bar/tasting room with a fireplace. Food was great and service was outstanding. Great find!!
Great place. Great food! Nice atmosphere to eat in. Fine dining.
Our favorite vineyard! Beautiful grounds & you don't have to worry about packing food because they have a restaurant. Awesome date or girls day spot!
We have been to Chimard dozens of times and just recently had our wedding there. Our wedding was beautiful but we were not prepared to do the majority of set-up yourself. If you ask for anything other than the chairs to be set up and the place to be cleaned you feel like you are putting them out. There felt to be a lack in systems and communication when it came to our event and it was more stress than it had to be. I was told I was going to have some food saved for me because as a bride you don't get to eat and they never did, we actually had to eat out after our wedding with numerous other guests that did not have enough food which was embarrassing. Our grandparents and aunts wanted coffee at one point and they were told it wasn't in our package by the person running the event, even though that was never brought to our attention when we gave the okay for the coffee she brought one cup not taking into consideration that the other elders in the group wanted it as well. Coffee is what $3 a cup, if we are willing to pay for it what is the issue? She acted as if again we were putting her out and we were mortified that our guests were treated without any consideration. I am also a stickler for refilling, cleaning, and organization and this lacked at times also. When our wedding was over we felt shuffled out and it was just not handled the way it should have been. When I brought the issues to the Coordinators attention who is new, she had an excuse for everything and just made it known that they weren't going to comp anything. In my professional experience it is important to make the client at the very least feel heard because this was our experience that should be improved at the very least for other clients in the future. The servers and bartenders who worked our event were amazing and so nice, it just felt either understaffed or poorly organized which is anything that has to do with them. Weddings are not perfect by any means but the way a company handles these situations is what leaves the lasting impression. Based on that we have to rate them poorly.
Exquisite dining
My friend and me loved this place! A great view and great wine! Awesome burgers!
Cool place
CHAMARD VINEYARD WAS EXCELLENT AS ALWAYS THE BRASED RIB AND THE COD WERE BOTH EXCELLENT
Service was awesome. Wine delicious. Burger was scrumptious. My wife loved her Duck entree and the desserts were tasty. The inside of the restaurant was comfortable and inviting.
$$$ pricey, but worth it
Chamard never disappoints! Haven't been here in ages and decided to stop by. It had been a while, so we did the wine tasting. The give good sized pours that let you actually taste the wine (some places you barely have enough to smell the wine). They do have a great selection of wines. Something for every palate. After the tasting, the lady let us try a couple of extra wines while we tried to determine what we would get. I think this is really nice as some wineries charge extra for this. The lady doing our tasting was also very nice, friendly, and knowledgeable about the wines. We never felt rushed and had a great time. Yes, their last wines are a little pricey but if you're willing to pay that much for a good wine from somewhere else, why not the same for a good local wine? We will definitely be back :-)
The grounds are meticulously maintained, the restaurant has excellent food and the white wines I tried were fantastic. I will definitely be back!
wonderful atmosphere ,enjoyed my time
Very good wine and a well maintained property. The dining areas were comfortable, and the food was quite good. The waitress, however, was not very helpful in explaining the wine or the tasting system.
Beautiful winery. The bar was happening. Definitely felt like a legit winery. Didn't try the food but a regular told me it was excellent. Perfect for a sunny afternoon outing!
Great place Food and wines were excellent! I had the 70/30 red ...big thumbs up but then again all of them are very good
Absolutely beautiful vineyard and amazing food.
Service and facility are five-star, as was the food and wine. Awesome experience.
Super cool winery. Nice wine selection. Outstanding food. As well done as anything you'll find on the West Coast. Highly recommend.
Terrible for weddings and large events. Run!!!
Best wine in CT. Very friendly staff and the food is amazing
Beautiful & delicious.
Great food, great service - will be back
Outstanding in EVERY way!!!
Unfortunately, it was raining a bit and they did not have any umbrellas on the terrace, so it was very packed inside and we had to be on the terrace with lunch and a bottle of wine under rain. Despite of that, food was dlelitios and Rose was crispy! Stuff was friendly.
This was the first time that we dined at this charming bistro on the lovely grounds of Chamard Vineyards. I was very surprised to find such a fabulous establishment in Clinton. The food was definitely French and absolutely delicious. The wines we're also sublime and paired perfectly with our dishes. Patrick was our server and although I thoroughly enjoyed his affable personality, I got the impression that he could have been more attentive or used some assistance. However, overall we had an excellent experience and look forward to returning!
Patrick is great!!! Enjoyed our tasting. Thanks for making our visit one to remember and we will be back.
Very nice place to enjoy good wine, food and relax.
Please mention on your site or anywhere that you don’t allow outside food within the tasting area during winter, like most other vineyards. Thanks!
Beautiful view, delicious food and great wine. Not great service on the patio
Very noisy! They offered us 3 wines for our tasting. Gave us 3 glasses and walked away. Never came back. Will not go back. Very disappointing.
Great food! Great service, wine selection is awesome.
Always an excellent time. Fun variety of wines and the food is top notch.
My sister and I have been here twice before and enjoyed it. Tonight we brought my brother from California and my Mom. It was a special occasion but it was a HUiGE disappointment! Our waitress took forever to come ask if we would like something to drink and we said we needed just a few minutes. We didn’t see her for at least 20 minutes. She finally poured water for us and we ordered the cheese platter for an appetizer. She said she would get that right away but it was well over a half an hour before we got it. We ordered wine and our meal. As we sat with our empty appetizer plates 2 of our dishes arrived by someone other than our waitress. She started putting the food down and I said it would be good if she took the appetizer plates away first and she said she would take them away as soon as she put the food down. There was no room to put the food down! My food was barely warm when it was put in front of me and our waitress never came to ask how our meals were so I didn’t get to ask her to have it warmed up. My sister and I ordered another glass of wine and our waitress forgot. We were just about finished with our meal when she finally showed up and realized she forgot the wine. I will also say there were not very many customers so I didn’t understand what the problem was. I have been a waitress for many years and if there’s ever a hold up in the kitchen or anywhere I am right out to the people letting them know what is going on. I never leave them just sitting there. I communicate!!!!! We will not be coming back.
The grounds and building are lovely. The food was excellent. The wine was good. Cant wait to go again.
Very nice and quaint place. Food was delicious
We were made to wait 25 minutes past our reservation time, only to be seated in the noisier part of the restaurant sandwiched in between two other tables. When we asked for a different table, they were not able to accommodate us. It was my husband's birthday and he was looking forward to the night. We drove an hour to get there and were very disappointed to say the least.
Excellent!
Food, atmosphere and service were perfect! Had an amazing dinner with the whole family. We were seated in our own private room and the service was top notch. Sampled a few wines and fell in love with Chamard's Malbec. Can not wait to visit again.
Lunch was excellent: brussel sprouts app, followed by Rohan duck confit salad and the Steak (cooked perfectly MR). Service was wonderful, Kayla provided fantastic care. She almost convinced us to have dessert when we had no room.
Great wine, loved every bit. Bistro side is good also. Definitely pricey.
Food, service, and atmosphere definitely a 5 star!
Absolutely amazing place! Great wine ( pretty stong!), delicious food ( bugers are the best!). Awesome customer service!!! Thanks for organizing party in a beautiful hidden banquet room the last minute!
Great food, but the service can be hit or miss. The wine and food can get expensive, as well.
The people were so helpful and the wine tasting was amazing
Friendly staff clean grounds and great wine
The people, the place, the wines and food - stellar! My daughter's thoughtful fiance picked this beautiful intimate place to propose alone in the wine cellar with the help of many players before, during and after. It started with a wine tasting to celebrate her birthday. Meanwhile I was in the wine cellar along with family to prepare the location including cameras pre-programmed and a video prepared to play. We hid, listened for the YES and cried with joy and happiness! We surprised them and celebrated with a 5 star dinner and wine together. You all know who you are that made this amazing event at the beginning of November a memory of a lifetime. Thank you!
Such a stunning landscape- that in and of itself is enough to absolutely blow you away. But the food, the food is incredible, unique and a work of art. Pair the landscape, food and fine wine together and you've got yourself an incredible unforgettable dining experience to remember. I can't recommend this place enough.
Wine tasting was great - we paired with with the cheese and bread plate. We made reservations in the Bistro and were seated at great high backed lounge chairs. Food was delicious and staff was attentive.
Completely disappointed in my first visit. I had heard such great reviews. The service was mediocre at best. The servers were not particularly friendly. They were clearly understaffed and not accommodating for this. This is not a venue I plan on returning to.
Honestly, where we live in CT, I can't imagine a Better date night place. Beautiful setting, live music, good wine, tasty appetizers. The wait staff are friendly and knoweldgeable without being stuffy. The whole atmosphere is rustic and festive. Highly, highly recommended, especially on a perfect summer night to watch the sunset!
Beautiful atmosphere, friendly staff and fantastic food! Had an amazing Rose slush in the tasting room and loved the Stone Cold Red with the grilled flatbread in the bistro. Can’t wait to get back there again!
great food and wine was delicious
Apps were awesome. Wine very good . Wife got gnocchi. Exl. I got steak frite. How do I put this. It was good but if I was craving steak this wouldn't be the first place I would go back to for a nice steak.
One of the best vineyards, hands down. Between the food and the view, I could not ask for anything more!
Excellent service, Kayla was great. She was very welcoming and very knowledgeable about the Vineyard and their wines. My wife and I will be back there again very soon.
I went here last night for dinner with some friends. We were able to find a table outside and ordered a bunch of apps followed by some sandwiches and deserts with a few bottles of wine. The Octopus is amazing and the location, wine and food quality is great! The location itself has a west coast feel with a New England view. Definitely worth a visit!
Good CT winery. A nice selection of wines and a nice wine tasting experience. The bistro was a little over priced but excellent food. Great staff and location.
This is our fourth summer season visiting this restaurant. The vineyard setting is amazing, so pretty and the evening sunset is beautiful. The menu offers a variety of fresh dishes, some super healthy and some are decadent, you can decide! We’ve had the same server each time and she is spectacular - makes the meal special and fun (Carianne). Highly recommend one of the best spots in the area.
Did a wine tasting with a friend. We had to ask to be served. The somelier was overwhelmed with customers and needed assistance that was not forthcoming. The wines were drinkable but far from memorable. VERY PRICEY! Don't waste your time and monet
Very nice selection of wines both estate and imported.
Great food.I would suggest 2 waiters instead of one. The 1 waiter had help from a server but he really had too much to handle even with her assistance. Kitchen over-staffed with 6 workers. Other than these observations, it is a lovely venue.
Very enjoyable. We liked the wines. The cheese platter was also very good. Service and info r planning wines was great. A good time
It was beautiful property, a wonderful atmosphere. Good wines and good food. Service was very very slow.
Not only is the wine terrific, but the restaurant was fantastic!
Great place. Nice wine. Bistro has good food. Service excellent
I’d give it a 5 but it took forever to do a tasting. The rosé was tasty and we got a bottle of it and sat down by the water! Check out the pictures!
Vacationing near by and found this gem based on the locally sourced food and sustainable cooking. Holy moly I couldn't breathe when I left. Food was melt in your mouth amazing with superb service. Beautiful land, too!
Sooooo Charming! Good food ! Good wine! Great service! I can't wait to return. I went for a wedding and it was spectacular!
I came here for lunch after an afternoon of shipping at the outlets. There was plenty of parking and a beautiful setting. The wine list was large and the there were plenty of food options as well. It was a little pricey for some of the portion sizes, but delicious. The servers were also very attentive and friendly.
What is there not to love about this place? 1. The wine is expertly crafted and those who work here are extremely knowledgeable 2. The location is picturesque-- perfect for romantic gettaway or friends escaping the day to day 3. The staff is hands down THE BEST I have ever encountered-- they truly love working here (shout out to Patrick behind the bar and Mike hosting AND serving) made the experience unforgettable 4. The food is delicious Definitely coming back ASAP
We’ve been to almost every vineyard and winery in the state and even neighboring states, and this is by far the best. The staff is very knowledgeable, warm, and hospitable. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful inside and out.
Amazing! All the wines we tasted we awesome!
One if my favorites!
Insufficient staffing, the three wines we did get to taste before giving up on waiting, were awful - stay away!!
took forever to get our wine tasting(about 15 minuites) by the server named Casey..... went to go eat outside and understandable but they told us no outside food still they forced us to leave and as they guided us out we were obviously upset....besides that a wedding was going on and even tho we were waiting to buy a glass of wine nobody served is for 20 min. so we left. the wine wasn't good as much as we would hope but as our last stop on the wine trail we expected a little more..m all in all I won't be coming back here.
Good wine for Connecticut, though a little on the pricey side. A great place to visit on a nice day to enjoy the view, a walk, and a glass of wine.
The place is beautiful, wine and food is tasty but most of all the service from Bob was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable in the wines, food and the history of the winery itself! He was super friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend asking for Bob!!!
