Here you will see the feddbacks of real people like you who are purchasing the services and products of Bishop\'s Orchards Farm Market & Winery (Winery) in the state of Connecticut.
To this day this business gets a rating of 4.6 out of 5 and the score was based on 307 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is basically the best, and it's founded on a very large number of reviews, so we can say that the evaluation is very accurate. If people have bothered to rate when they've done well with the service, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to set feddbacks when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Winery corresponds to the category of Market.
Fun place to enjoy with the kiddos on a pleasant day. Expect to spend a few dollars, but the food is fresher than the local store by far.
Reasonable prices for great quality food. Amazing cider, a need to go back grocery store. Just down the road from fun hiking trails.
Delightful market! You never know what you will find!
Their apple cider donuts are soooooo good!
Seemed like a nice place. Just way to crowded today. Maybe next time it'll be quieter with less lines.
Excellent fruit and vegetable selections. There are local strawberry and blueberry offered. Many subs and soups available. The choice are endless. Did I mention that inside the shop, Bishop’s Orchards Winery offers an abundance of our own fruit wines and hard ciders. Must try.
Really neat, local, fresh. Lots of homemade treasures like the lemon tea cake. Phenomenal! But pricey.
is a beautiful place , the worker are fabulous, so many varieties of apples, pear & peaches is and many more stuff so is nice for a family and friends to pick up your own fruits fresh thanks
Great place to shop for everything! I love coming every week sometime 3 &4 time's visit.foods Assume!
Great selection. Surprised by all the great premade food, and my cheese-lover friend will go wild for this 5yr aged gouda.
Always great picking apples here than getting pumpkins after. We go every year.
GREAT FOOD, nice atmosphere, expensive but worth it
Love Bishops. The freshest produce and prepared foods anywhere
Great place to bring the family. Great pumpkin patch with activites for the kids and great, big pick your own apples and other seasonal fruits a short drive away. Highly recommend Bishops
Bishop’s is a treasure and feel lucky to have it so close to my home.
All around fun farm store with Cider donuts year round. Try getting out of here without going crazy. All their homemade stuff is good. Great fall family fun, Orchards for picking...
Went apple picking yesterday. The main field was too flooded to pick from but the smaller field was adequate for the apples that I needed.
Wonderful selection of fresh produce, pies, cheese, pasta prepared foods beautiful flowers. Wonderful time.
Love every thing here! Especially all the fresh produce! We just did the wine tasting and wine tour yesterday for my Nieces Birthday! What a fun afternoon! Highly recommend for adults! Did you know "You could pick up lunch and dinners already prepared"? I'll be grocery shopping here next week! Hehe Thanks for a wonderful afternoon with my sister, niece and daughter. ❤️
Great place that keeps getting better.
Been coming here for years... awesome
I dont get to Bishops often because I live in Jersey, but every time I head North, I make it a point to go. I've never been disappointed
Great place. Amazingly tasty apples. Will defiantly come back again.
Great produce!
Nice market but was hoping to sip our wine flight outdoors. They serve the flight at an indoor bar in the back of the store. Wasn't too impressed by the fruit wines - I prefer grape wine... staff was friendly.
Nice place! I prefer natural, organic, and I like festive. 2018
Briana was super nice ooh and the wine
We always make the time to stop and shop at BO during our road trips to Jersey! Love all the fresh foods, gluten free options, healthy nuts and seeds and amazing soups and salads! Can't wait until apple season to start! We picked up some apple sauce to get us thru til Autumn! Love Bishop's Orchards!!
Great farm shop, wines are unique. Also sells wine from neighboring vineyards.
Always a great selection of EVERYTHING! So much fun to shop here
Good store, good prices, lots of organic items fruits and vegetables, breads, pastries, soups, etc.
Always a great time.
There is just so much to do here! I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good place to pick apples this fall. Parking can be a bit tough if you come on a busy day like we did. The cider donuts are so delicious! And don't forget to check out the adorable llamas, alpacas, chickens, and goats. They're very friendly.
I love Bishop's, and not just for apple picking! It has a great grocery store with a good selection of local offerings, especially in the summer and fall. The service is great and workers are always smiling! I also love the free apple on your way in and cider and other samples often. They have a great bread selection too. The roasted garlic ciabatta is always a crowd pleaser.
I love they have a great selection of produce from local farms.
Good produce and fresh made baked goods.
I came here after a shopping trip with my husband's cousin and my coworker for some wine tasting. The gentleman conducting the wine tasting was extremely knowledgeable, and friendly. They don't have any grape wines but other fruit wines for tasting and sale. Fruits include apples, peaches, pears, and cranberries to name a few. The market itself is stocked full of locally sources ingredients from the farm itself and from other farms. Fresh made salads, sandwiches, soups, and dinners are available here. Looking forward to going back for the PYO.
You would think this place would be great for produce, but much of it is browning or wilted. The entire stock of snow peas were dated for today and showed it. Last week the snow peas were still out the day after their date. Organic produce must be chosen carefully as it is often browned, or starting to rot - cauliflower and tomatoes in particular. I am far more vigilant here than in most large grocery stores.
Have been a fan of their CSA for years!
A terrific place to shop for fresh fruit and vegetables as well other food items such as coffee, wine, cheese, and salads.
Wonderful fresh produce and locally made goods (e.g., Bishop's own brands, such as quiche, salsa, donuts, etc.) ...YUMM! Now that I have found Bishop's I WILL be back...especially now that I have a Bishop's card... great specials!!
Very good place
Great selection of farm fresh fruit & vegtables.
Everyone is friendly. It's a lovely place.
I have not visited the farm store in a couple of years, but when I am in the area and it is peach season, yum! I have to stop by. Since last visit (2016), the store is expanded and not for the better. Disappointed that more Bishop grown or locally grown produce is not available. Why would I want to buy California products in Connecticut? Stop trying to compete with the chain supermarkets, I visit the store to buy local. I did get my peaches but passed on the California strawberries.
Awesome pies & donuts and I love pick your own EVERYTHING. I would give those 5 stars, but various produce I have bought had a very short shelf life. I have also not had good luck with soups & cold salads such as broccoli slaw. It goes bad very quickly which is not the case when I purchase the slaw elsewhere. One star for those. Too bad.
A very nice store with great selection, however the staff I spoke with was rude (I think it was a manager) and the activity prices were more than expected.
Bishops Orchard is fantastic for shopping for fresh foods and healthy alternatives. This place is awesome!
You used to have a plethora of Local Wines from other Vineyards. Please start to carry other vineyards again as it was a delight to get all of my items at one place.
Pretty expensive, but locally made and sourced food, along with staff from the area and quality orchard wines. The family are all really nice too, and are good contributors to the community.
Great day peach picking, the bakery amazing fruit of the farm pie was divine ☆☆☆☆☆!!!! I recommend this place peach picking, apple pears is amazing! !!!
Nice as always.
Nice Orchard, a little bit crowded and way overpriced! Thought we would try it this year but still prefer blue jay over in Bethel. Much more chill and less expensive!
Best fruits & veggies and employees on the shoreline. Frequent social events make Bishop's the go-to
It’s been a few years since my family has stopped in at Bishop’s. Last weekend, we did (October 2018). We were so catastrophically disappointed with what Bishop’s has become that I feel compelled to write this review. Gone is the warm and welcoming country store Bishop’s used to be. The place was packed with people wall to wall, all clamoring for space to move. Everyone’s frustration and aggression was apparent; this happens when you pack people into a building like sardines. We went for the candy apples, our favorite autumn treat. They were priced at $4.50 a piece, plus tax. We were stunned at candy apples at nearly $5 a piece. We picked up a bag of ‘Bishop’s Own’ macoun apples for eating. When we got home and tried them, they were mealy and tasteless. The apple cider is good, but extraordinarily overpriced. A chaotic atmosphere with inflated prices and low-quality apples. My family was so deeply disappointed. We’ll never go back.
Nice place to visit but over price .
Great selection of unusual prepared fresh foods.
Amazing selection
It’s not really a winery. It’s basically a grocery store with a small bar we’re they have a mini wine tasting. They don’t even sell wine by the glass. Very disappointed because the reason we went there was for the winery. The website is very misleading; it makes it seem like it is a spacious winery and kitchen/restaurant.
Love Bishop's. Best produce and great selection of everyday items. We're also part of their CSA!
Love this place. Fresh food, vegetables, many options.
This is a must place to stop and shop or just enjoy the many things to do. There cider is fantastic and the season is here for pumpkins and fall festivities. The store has a wide variety of stuff to purchase including wine, sandwiches, cider, etc.
This place has some great fruit wines. It's a bit of an awkward place for a wine tasting. It is in the back of a grocery store. The store itself is very nice. All the staff are very nice and friendly. They man who gave us the tasting was great. He had alot of knowledge about the wines. He was a great person to get a wine tasting from. Everything is very well priced. The apple cider is delicious along with the hard ciders.
This is, actually, one of the oldest businesses in America with an even older tradition. More than just apples and most delicious cider and pies, this is a family destination.
It was beautiful and really great. Live it
A nice little market with a good selection of fruit wines which they make. My wife and I did a tasting and they even let us open a box of cider donuts to munch on during it
Lovely place for fresh produce and great cheeses.
Great place for fresh produce...especially apples. They offer LOTS of house prepared dinners, lunches, sides & soups. Its just a bit too pricey for me to do all my grocery shopping here.
It's a little bit expensive but is nice place I liked
Extensive offerings of seasonal produce and gourmet foods
Fantastic wines and great foods. Can't wait to go back. Going there hungry can be dangerous.
This is a pretty good market to go to when you want fresh fruits and vegetables. My only gripe is the layout of the store. It's kind of designed like a mini IKEA, where it makes you walk through the entire maze-like store just to get to the checkout. I would prefer there be checkouts at the entrance, or at the very least, have the "maze" end up back in the same place it started (like IKEA). Other than that I enjoy the selection of creative wines and cheeses, and the organic brands in general.
Fresh, a bit expensive, sometimes hard to know what is local produce and what is trucked in from out state.
High quality produce and prepared foods
Best produce, great prepared foods!
Bishops provides great local produce at a good price. The staff is constantly updating the bins and picking any downers. Their ciders are good, as is their wine if you like the fruit wines. Sometimes crowded, the cashier peeps will get you through quickly. Animals in the good weather amuse children, good ready prepared meals. Meat is expensive. Environmentally forward they grow their own energy. Please bring your own bag. Cheers!
Great array of fresh fruits and vegetables
We visited Bishop's Farm for the great cyclocross race they hosted, but left with a car full of fresh cider, farm fresh produce, and a pile of delicious cider donuts. Thank you for hosting, and thanks for all the great food. I highly recommend this great New England orchard and farm market!
Usually very good but on our last visit we bought cherries ($7.99 lb) and had to throw them away. They started to get moldy in 2 days. Also the blackberrys were not very good. Again, they are usually very good but we were not happy on our last visit.
A great to shop and find something new to try. Has seasonal pumpkin event and Corn maze!
Nice grocery store. Incredible wine selection.
First stop on our poker run. The Pink Ladies
Fresh fruit and veggies. Freshly prepared food. Delicious pies.
We love Bishop's Peach Berry pies!
Good selection and friendly help.
Great place to pick apples and shop in their store. Friendly, knowledgeable staff.
I was happy to find some Paleo products during my visit! Will definitely visit again!
Our family enjoyed our time at Bishop's very much. It was a beautiful September day, the apples were ripe and delicious, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Nice selection of local produce and deli items. Also if you like good wine or cider avoid the apple wine.
the place is wonderful and the staff is nice good fruit section year round
Had a wonderful time with my granddaughter at the Halloween Parade. she even won one of the best costume prizes.
Fresh sweet fruit just picked and you can pick your own.
Fantastic place for fresh fruits and vegetables. A true New England orchard and market.
Their produce, prepared and baked goods are pretty good but the prices even on (non-speciality items) usually exceed what you would expect to pay by .50-2.00. The #1 reason I cannot give them more than 2 stars is their parking lot situation. I drive by sometimes multiple times a day in the course of my life and can almost always count on an entitled and impatient customer unlawfully pulling out in front of my car without a blinker or a safe distance to do so! Sometimes cars pull out and completely block oncoming traffic just before also cutting off whoever is in the far lane they wish to enter!! They had parking attendants for an event today but that doesn't do anything to make their customers less of a hazard to everyone else. I rarely go into their establishment any more for the safety of myself and my vehicle. Would banning drivers who create these hazards help? A stop light? A gate? I'm genuinely curious if there's a way to find out how many collisions occur due to the carelessness/entitlement of some of their customers!!
A lot of fun, definitely needed a shopping cart instead of the basket:) The Bloody Mary mix is second to none!!
Lots of variety nice place to shop
Fresh local produce and groceries. Gourmet cheeses and oils. Excellent pre-made foods. And the best pies I've ever had, except my Mom's...but come darn close.
I like Bishop's Orchard. I go there every now and then to buy apples and am never disappointed. It's a cute, smallish grocery store.
Just plain fun. Food products you never saw before. Very folksy uptown atmosphere.
Tremendous produce selection! From Jicama to beets to baby bok choy :)
Great selection of fruits & vegetables. Picked up strawberries, Bishop's 1/2 blueberry pie and their own ice cream. Delicious!!. Can't go wrong here!!!!
Bishops is great for stopping to pick up a last minute missing ingredient or a quick indulgence. Too pricey for a full grocery shop and disappointing not everything is local. I see they are trying to be a one stop shop, but I don’t think that’s what anyone is coming here for. We want the farmstand experience. It is clean, but the staff friendliness is very hit or miss. Three times I’ve been asked if I have a savings card, every time I say no and have never been offered to sign up. That’s just lack of training and lazy employees. I’ll be back for specifics, but won’t go out of my way.
Nice place
Wonderful produce and other items! Friendly service! Wonderful atmosphere! I shop here because the Bishop's care about the community!
Love this place. Freshest produce around, big selection, organic items. It's worth the trip to shop here.
While it would be hard on the wallet to shop hear every day, I would love to. They have exotic fruits that standard grocery stores dont have (Dragonfruit!!), and they can turn their delicious apples into anything imaginable. Plus the cashier (didnt catch her name) was very kind and engaging. Great place!
The only place to get the best fresh fruits and vegetables, cheeses, breads, soups, pies, prepared meals, etc. Been coming here for decades. Never ever disappointed. They also make beautiful fruit baskets which I have received as gifts!! Bishop's peaches are superior to any other orchards.
Such a great, local market. While visiting family in Guilford, CT i absolutely fell in love. Half the reason i want to visit that family again is just to visit this establishment
Fantastic place, thank you for the electric vehicle charger! We were able to charge up and do a wine tasting at the same time. Prices are a little high, but hey, ya gotta pay for that charger somehow ;)
In town location of the Store is perfect. There is enough parking so that every shopper is accommodated. All produce/products are fresh and plentiful. Would have been 5 stars except they stopped carrying a saltless snack chip product I can no longer get there. Please bring any saltless version back would be fine.
Wonderful selections! Only the freshest and very best! The world should know about you guys!!
This place sells high quality food items as well as provides a awesome opportunity to pick apples in the fall
not your typical run of the mill winery. a bar set up in the back of the grocery store. the crafting is supposedly done in the basement.
Love is so nice place and people
Great Marketplace and pumpkin patch.....didn't get to visit the apples because it was raining, but very cute place! Parking was decent, and there is a small farm with a few animals :)
Great fruits and vegetables! Many of them are are local. Also, they make fruit wines from their own CT grown fruit.
Bishops is a staple of the community. Good location, some great selections, and wine. Fall is my favorite time to visit for the apple cider.
This store sells lots of food from local or less known brands, and has accumulated quite the selection of great products because of it. It is also one of the few places I can still find Unreal Candy all year.
