Going was such an amazing experience! You can tell this truly is their passion. One of the owners Gary served us two 5 wine flights and broke down each individual wine’s nuances beautifully with such depth of knowledge while not talking talking down to us one bit. Some may be silly to think that this was all I was poured but fear not! Not only was I poured an appropriate amount of this AMAZING Cabernet Sauvignon ice wine (my sweet tooth and palette were throughly satisfied), but I also didn't get a chance to take a picture before I had already nearly drank it all- silly me.

I was definitely skeptical of a winery in Parker, but what an awesome find! This is the only place in the city making Amphora wines (similar to the ancient Greeks and Romans). The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly; the wines were incredible and very unique. They’re also opening a tasting room in Highlands Ranch and Castle Rock, so will definitely be back!

I was really hopeful that there would be a winery within minutes of our house that would be decent. Once we arrived, we were brought through a very educational wine journey. One thing we learned was that Purgatory Cellars has some really outstanding wines, BOTH red's and especially the white's. Let me just say that I am a red wine person, always have been. Furthermore, I really have NEVER had a Chardonnay that I have liked. When we left I took home 4 Chardonnay's for the first time EVER!. These wonderful wines are some of the best small craft wines that I have ever had, and, all their grapes come from Colorado!! We are lucky to have such a great winery in not only Parker, but in this state! What an outstanding winery!!

Absolutely loved this place. They have a great selection of locally made wines. The hosts were warm, hospitable and helpful in suggesting the best wines as per our preference. They also have a great cheese and raw meat platter. The ambience and the wine made it a memorable visit. This mom and pop shop could quite easily be the best winery in CO.

My girlfriend and I took a chance and visited them on a Sunday afternoon based on just what I read online, and it was fantastic. The wines had a distinct Eastern European influence that set them apart from anything else I've had in recent memory. And if you're a wine enthusiast, you owe it to yourself to try the wines fermented in amphoras of clay infused with honeycomb. They're extremely rich and earthy, and the flavor lingers for several minutes after each sip. They also had extremely well balanced port wines that were strong without being overwhelming in any respect. They generously allowed us to try a new chardonnay that should be available soon, and it was amazing. Eric, a Native American flute player, also plays on Sunday afternoons and is excellent. Highly reccomended. Edit: A year later and we're still loyal customers. Hope to see you in Castle Rock soon!

You want wine that doesn’t taste like everything else...congratulations you found it. Now I’ll be honest I’m a beer and whiskey guy (I’ll drink wine because the wife does) but I’m in love with Purgatory wine. Here’s the kicker: I’m a dry red wine guy when forced into it but the Purgatory Viognier Amphora is my hands down favorite I’ve had in Colorado. The owners are super sweet and nice with a great family atmosphere. The location is awesome I just wish there was a rooftop patio to enjoy the sunset with my wine (but we can’t have it all right?) everything about this place makes it a favorite place to stop by on a whim or planned. Worth the drive if you need to make it but be careful the atmosphere and wine will entrance you and you might just get lost in the moment.
