Here you have all the opinions of people who consume the products and services of Silver Oak Napa Valley (Winery) in the state of California.
At this moment the business has a score of 4.6 stars out of 5 and that rating was based on 226 reviews.
As you can read, the average score it has is virtually the top, and it is founded on a high number of scores, so we can say that the valuation is quite reliable. If there are many people who bothered to give their score when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to place feddbacks when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Winery corresponds to the category of Winery.
Amazing experience at Silver Oak. They truly know how to welcome and accommodate guests. They do their best to accept walk ins with parties 6 or less. Our host Brooks was fantastic. Made the experience with his knowledge unforgettable.
A beautiful winery that is highly rated because their cabernets are very good. They have a tasting with a flight of three for $30 which includes the glass. The cabs are rich and dark, smooth, and bold. If you like red wine, you'll like these wines. The grounds are beautiful. They have a nice courtyard where you can sit under some shade and enjoy the view of the vineyard. They were selling flatbread pizzas cooked in a wood fire oven which looked good and were reported as such by other patrons. The wine is very pricey...$100 per bottle so be prepared. The tasting room is a medium size and they let you taste at your own pace. It can get crowded so best to go early. They have a few gifts like bottle openers, coasters, towels, and such.
Excellent wine and great tour!
Amazing staff, beautiful winery, and amazing wine.
"Friendly staff, amazing wine and a beautiful setting."
Wow, had such a great time at the Silver Oak Cellars! Our tour guide Thomas was fantastic
Nice place .friendly staff.good wine and beautiful courtyard.
Perfect cab!!
Funny, Felicia was rude to us too. Resting on her laurels indeed. We went to Stags Leap too.
Wonderful wines. Great explanations from Bob.
Terrific location, stellar property, fabulous wine and excellent manager.
Nice winery in Yountville, a bit pricey wine (starting $80 and above)
Awesome tasting, grounds, and staff
This is the house of cabs!!! Beautiful setting great people watching and of course amazing Cabernet Sauvignon!! The smaller parties the bar tasting is perfect and reservations are not required for small parties....
Great place. Fantastic wine. Well worth the stop.
Good tour, good wines. All is very clean. One of the most beuatifull facilities in the area!
Silver Oak Cellars in Oakville, California, part of the Napa Valley AVA has a motto; Life is a Cabernet. Founded in 1972 by Ray Duncan and Justin Meyer with wines aged exclusively in American oak barrels. With a wonderful property and tasting room, they also have a second vineyard in Sonoma’s Alexander Valley near Healdsburg, plus establishing the Twomey Cellars in 1999. You can read the full review article and more on the Wine dine and Play Blog.
Delicious wine. Tasting available without reservations. Property was beautiful. Wine was available to purchase. Also, a small amount of clothing and other items were available for sale inside. The outside of the property had a fountain, statues and some beautiful unique features. Parking was free and easy. Staff was very kind, helpful and personable.
Natalie and the staff were fantastic she took care of us more than we could ever imagine it's our honeymoon and it was amazing the service that she gave us. Thank you so much Natalie you really made our day. And your Napa Cab is amazing!
So you like amazing wine? Then this should be a pretty easy choice for you. Generous pours, and John was an amazing host. Never thought I would buy a bottle of Silver Oak because I'm cheap, but God damn did that tasting convince me.
Outstanding Cabernet's. Alexander valley and Napa valley. That's all there is to it!! Most consistent wine year over year. Absolutely a must for cab drinkers.
My favorite wine tasting so far. If you're a bold, earthy, and smokey wine lover: this winery is for you.
Excellent wines must stop for tasting
So and so Server was not helpful and a bit pushy, their Cabernet wine is pretty good and the place is neat. Bottles seemed a bit overpriced with $75 starting price
We loved Silver Oak! We are big fans of Cabernet Sauvignon and love their wines. My husband and I were able to walk in for a tasting since there were only two of us but as with any winery check the website to see if you need a reservation. It was great to taste the same Cab from different years and two different valleys and decide which was better for our palate. And Silver Oak was the only winery that provided souvenir glasses. Would definitely recommend!
My wife and I took their main tour and had an incredible time. Our host made the tour both fun and interesting and always made it a point to refill your glass before it was empty. The grounds are beautiful and the building has an interesting history. They only produce one style but they definitely do it well. Bottles are pricey but the tour is reasonably priced for how much you experience and drink!
An absolute much. Extremely worth a visit. We did a tour with Jim Grace. He was amazing with his knowledge of the winery. A brilliant tour.
My husband I visited Silver Oak on our honeymoon for the Wine & Food Pairing with your. It was such an incredible experience and the food and wine pairing was absolutely delicious. We will definitely come back on our next trip to Napa!
Have always loved both the Napa and Alexander Valley Silver Oak Cabernets - especially to pair with food. Really enjoyed visiting the winery and learning even more about why they strike my fancy. Tasted 4 selections and all were wonderful. Our tour guide was exceptionally pleasant and professional. The facility was beautiful. Took home several bottles. Highly recommended.
Great wine, excellent wine tasting hospitality.
Beautiful place, beautiful views, beautiful wines!
You can't go wrong with Silver Oak. They throw fantastic release party
My favorite Cabernet. Tastings are $20 and you keep the crystal glass. Bottles are pricey but very good wine.
Very welcoming staff and great service. Amazing breadsticks. Wine: ☆☆☆☆☆
Good juice! Went with a large group and both our hosts were great. Would visit again!
Some amazing wines here especially the Cabernet Sauvignon from 2006.
Fannnnntastic wines. Beautiful winery and tasting room. Debbie, in the tasting room, was great!! Go visit her!
Delicious cabs. It's what they do.
Very touristy place. Pretty large gift shop and surprising range of activities for just the Cabernet from just two vineyards. If you like local atmosphere, that isn't a place for you.
Arrogant staff.
Great time
A must visit for Cabernet lovers.
Always a great experience!
One of my favorite wineries in Napa. Definitely get the Alexander Valley Cab.
(Translated by Google) A small but very beautiful winery with a beautiful lawn that feels good. (Original) 小さいがとても綺麗なワイナリー。芝生が綺麗で気持ちいい。
Great wine. A bit expensive.
Really enjoyed this tasting room. They only make Cabs but they do a darn good job at it.
Beautiful winery and some if the best cabernet. Cheers...
One of our favorites! We always stop here when we're in Napa. The library pour this time was Napa '06. Delicious!
Beautiful property! A little chaotic and confusing inside. After we paid for our tasting we met some people from our state and were talking outside the tasting room in the outdoor green space. An employee walked out soon after and asked what we were doing bc some “really important people” were about to come.
Best winery in Napa, hands down. Friendly staff, amazing wine and a beautiful setting. I asked about a million questions about the wine making process and the staff was very knowledgeable and happy to answer my questions. This is a MUST for any wine tasting outing!
(Translated by Google) I love this wine, and I often drink it in the restaurant. On this day, tasting tour etc. did not participate in the third winery, but it is a winery of a spacious vineyard and a very beautiful building. The Cabernet …
We really enjoyed our tasting. Margaret answered all our questions about Napa Cabs, and so much else besides. I would highly recommend a tasting here.
Beautiful winery with vVery good wines and friendly staffs, love to come here, recommend or bring people here.
The premier wine and winery in CA.
Moms need wine. I ended up with my 18 month old daughter on a Napa trip. This was by far one of the best places to take a toddler who is learning to RUN and SCREAM and jump and many other exciting things. The wine is always top shelf and the people were fantastic. Many people to play with. Would go back.
Tom was our tour guide and he was absolutely amazing. He was so friendly and informative and we were so thankful to have him as our guide on the tour! He definitely made our experience. The cabs here are absolutely incredible, you will not be disappointed. Must stop on your Napa wine tour!!!! We will be back!
Loved it! Jody, the tasting room manager was awesome! She spent a lot of time talking with us and even sent us to Twomey, Silver Oak's sister winery. I enjoyed how even with a walk in tasting, we never felt rushed. We were able to take our pours of wine outside or walk around. Also fun that the third pour is from their library collection. Hard to get something that fantastic when you're just dropping into a tasting.
Fantastic wines for food
Always a amazing experience!

What a great winery and experience. I love this place.
Extremely unprofessional and unfriendly staff. Particularly from one lady surnamed "Chase" When asked about the wines got told to "read the catalogue" . Also got accused of re-selling wines on the spot and poor attitude. Very disappointed for such a high tier winery especially considering we were genuinely in their wines. Man named Bob was much better.
Had a bad experience at this winery. I took a picture of one item in the shop and a staff member ran over and asked in a rude tone whether she could help me. She then berated me for taking a picture in their shop, and accused me of winery espionage. Really? Has this winery not entered the digital age? Not sure whether she was paranoid, crazy, or both, but it ruined the experience. Also, we could not sit outside since they had reserved this for a large party, and had very limited outside seating. While other wineries had very down to earth people pouring and explaining the wine, Silver Oak seemed both scripted and uptight in how they interact with visitors. The "ick" factor was palpable, and the wine was not that interesting. I recommend giving it a miss.
Good wine, good experience wine tasting here. Will be back!
The epitome of Cabernets.
Wonderful time at Silver Oaks Winery... Greg was a great host!
Silver Oak is obviously a pretty commercialized vineyard, but they are still able to give you personal experience during tasting and the wine experts are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The wine speaks for itself. They only make cabs and they have mastered the art. We really enjoyed the knowledge, the views and most importantly the wines. If you are looking for a mom-and-pop shop, this isn't your spot, but if you want to enjoy some incredible cabernets, then it's a must.
What a relief! We came from a really disappointing visit to Cakebread and were lucky enough to walk up to Tom Walsh's tasting table. We lamented about our disapointment in the last winery and Tom went to work making us feel better. It was a little loud in the tasting room so Tom took us on a little walk to a quieter part of the winery to show us the work they were doing with the recent harvest. Tom was warm, welcoming and a real expert on the wines and process. We LOVE Silver Oak. We left with a few hundred bucks of wine and it was so worth it! We will be back every time we come to Napa!
The $75 starting price in bottles is ridiculous, the tasting is similarly overpriced for a glass, but they do make killer cabs. Silver oaks fills a luxury product niche with a quality product but you don’t need to pay these prices for wine of this caliber.
Very friendly and excellent winesl
I attended an event for the Vine Trail in July. It was a great experience for the whole family.
Best one yet. Loved it. Great Cabernet tasting!
Great experience at Silver Oak! Our guide Patrick defined hospitality in a way I have not often experienced!
It is a winery that you'll probably go to. They make decent wine. It seems that I sell more Silver Oak than anything else so they must be doing it right. The only issue I have is it's size and the amount of people that they see. The first thing that I noticed was the fact that the parking lot was designed to accommodate tour buses. I completely understand that I would love to own this property, and be the one charging for tours, it's just that I probably would of skipped the tour after I had seen the parking lot and heard the spiel that the nice guide gave us, that once he had started you could tell he had gave 500 time that year. We rather enjoy the tours where your met by the owners dog!
Amazing wine and a wonderful place to visit.
Love this wine. Great Customer service. Price is reasonable 25.00 for this tasting compared to the other pretentious wineries nearby. No reservations needed for the walk in tasting. Sure makes being spontaneous fun.
Crap. This place was great. Sprung for the private tasting. While pricey was totally worth it. Tastings a plenty of great wines, beautiful grounds, great service - this place was totally memorable and tons of fun. Recommend calling ahead and making an appointment.
Great place great wine and people
Great place for wine tasting. Accepts walk-ins unlike many wineries around that area
Their wines are fantastic me their tasting room is very cozy.
I had a business meeting in Napa this week and brought my team here as a little team building outing on Tuesday. Myself and a couple others on my team had to take a scheduled call, so immediately after paying we went to an empty room for our call. While we were on our call, the rest of my team was doing the wine tasting and tour. By the time our call was over, the tour and tasting was over. We made the comment that we didn't really get anything we paid for, specifically the tour, and the host's response was, "Well you will be back soon". We just looked at each other in shock. We had a 2nd wine tasting we were running late for, so we left. Our experience with the host, and those who actually went through the tasting and tour with her, was horrible. In the 5 minutes we spent with her, she twice said that this wasn't her real job. Her real job is selling real estate. Those who were with her the whole time commented that she'd made the same comment at least a few times to them. Someone at the front said it was $30 for just the tasting, and $50 if you include the tour. Those of us who missed the tour thought we'd be refunded $20. The host made no mention of it when we asked. As I said, were running late for our next tasting, and we didn't want to hold everyone up.
Magnificent!!! I love Silver Oak!!!
One of the best vineyards I visited throughout my trip. Judy was such an amazing tour guide, very personable, knowledgable, and so friendly- we loved her! Highly recommended and will be back!
Very beautiful place . I want to go there again.
Beautiful place. Amazing wines. Nice people :)
Excellent customer service from Tina. I don’t drink their product, but I do purchase for gifts. I pay attention to how merchants treat people, and I’m impressed. Thanks for the assist on a hiccup that could’ve fouled up a gift.
Perhaps my favorite place in the valley.
Great wine, friendly staff, generous pours, and an overall beautiful winery. Will definitely be visiting again
David was fabulous! Thanks for the great wine and experience.
Great wine, beautiful view
One of the well know winery in Oakville. Got a couple bottles from here back in the day.
Service was excellent. Awesome swag! Spectacular cellar.
Arrived at Silver Oak today with 6 girlfriends, looking forward to a tasting and purchasing some bottles of wine to take home. We were told because of the size of our party we would have to take a tour, pay $50 per person, as tastings were only available for smaller parties. Seeing the “tasting area” had plenty of room at the bar, we asked “what if we were two parties of 3 and 4 or three parties of 2 or 3.” Felicia said “nice try!” Well Felicia, our driver took us to Stags Leap, where we had a fabulous time, treated so well, and left with some wonderful wine and great memories. Guess Silver Oak is resting on their laurels. So arrogant.
Our wine tasting unfortunately had to be rushed (our fault, not theirs) so we didn't get the full experience but it was great none the less. Our host was extremely knowledgeable and excitedly talked to us about going for his 3rd level sommelier. We got to taste a few ripe grapes off the vine which was a nice treat.
Great tasting
This is a winery I wish I'd skipped. The service was good enough, but given the size of the tasting room and the crowd, the people working the tasting bar were not able to focus much on our group. We paid $25 (typical Napa tasting inflation) for 3 pours of cab. While all they make is cab, one of the three would we have started to think about purchasing. Although these wines may lay down quite nicely, I don't want to have to wait 20 years for a bottle to mature for actual drinking. All of the wine we drank — including the library one — was still too young, dry and tannic. Better wine elsewhere.
Silver Oak Cellars is our favorite winery in all Napa Valley. From the service to how beautiful is the whole winery is, you feel like home. We did the 3pm public tour and it was so fun. We learned a lot about Silver Oak, from how they started and how they created their name, to each step of how they make they wine until release date. We can’t wait to come back to Napa and visit Silver Oak again. Also our most favorite Cabernet Sauvignon from all the cabs we tried. We really recommend this winery in your trip to Napa. We loved that they keep serving you that delicious Napa Cab through the whole tour.
Julienne was awesome
Great wine, staff is very personable and the tasting experience is just relaxing.
Cool place actually wine interesting history must check it out
The wine tasting and tour was so informative. Incredible Cabs and worth the $$$. Great little gift shop as well!
It was very beautiful. We were able to walk through the vineyards!
Three others and myself went to this beautiful iconic winery that started our trek across wine country. This winery keeps it's family traditions as well as buying their wood in America which was a great surprise to us. Highly recommend. Our tour guide was intimate and knowledgeable. Great first experience.
Rude, rude, rude with NO ability to give detail to the wine! I was so disappointed with the new winery. We had 3 pours for $20.00 each. 3 attendees that were progressively more rude! I bought a bottle and they didn't even comp the 40$ tasting! What a joke....go down the street to SodaRock where they are very friendly and the wine is comparables or even better! Don't waste your money or your time!
Wow! Outstanding wines and friendly staff. These people do one thing, make excellent red wines, and do it well. If you're in Napa, this is a must-visit winery.
We had the best experience at this winery! Caroline was wonderful!
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Beautiful surroundings. Great cabs!
Stopped by today and found the place to be very impersonable, staff ushered you to the bar and the server just poured wine without any explanation or interaction. We were just another dollar through the door.
Good wines. Wines made in 100% American oak for about 24 months.
Simply put, they are the GOLD standard! A MUST SEE!
Everything about Silver Oak was amazing! The wine, the friendly service, the ambiance, the soveiners. All incredible!
Absolutely amazing stuff. What a wonderful experience. Take the time and arrive early. Make sure that you buy the Twomey Experience. Debbie Klimek was our wonderful tour guide and she was very knowledgeable. A self-described "wine geek" a huge amount of tribal knowledge and historical knowledge. Not only one of the most important wineries in California, this family-owned and family-run business is a great American success story. Cheers to David Duncan and his family. Thank you for everything.
Superb wine and service.
I love the great outdoor open space and how not strict the staff were. We were able to roam around the vacinity with no issues. I love the wines here. I tasted various years but my fav were probablg the 2008 Napa cab
Enjoy a wine tasting and contemplate life as you walk around Silver Oak's tasting room and grounds.
Great place, good wines & people.
Great wine and beatiful view pf the vinyard. Sunset was great as you can see in the photo.
My husband & I visited Silver Oak on our very first visit to Napa and were completely amazed by the entire experience! We already loved their Cabernets, so it was wonderful to learn more about the history and family behind the wine! Beautiful location, exceptional wine, and the most kind people - a must do for anyone visiting the Napa area.
Time your visit for when the roses are blooming, and enjoy some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon the Valley has to offer.
Amazing wine, wonderful Experience! Very friendly staff! It was truly Vino Heaven!
Very busy, really nice area.
I enjoy silver oak vienry.
Superb wine. Friendly staff.
(Translated by Google) It is a recommended winery behind Opus One. Three cups cost $ 30. (Original) オーパスワンの裏にあるオススメのワイナリーです。 3杯で$30です。
Tour was first class. Service since has been worst class. Order still floating in thin air even though they charged our card nearly 4 months ago and I can't get a live body or a phone call back. Won't ever return....
One of our favorite Cabernet wines. We were really looking forward to our wine tasting and tour, but upon our arrival we experienced a very arrogant and rude staff. They seemed very unorganized and we waited a very long time for our tour to start. Our guide actually “saved the day” by taking us on a great tour of vineyards, glass house library and tasting room. She was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The wine was was truly exquisite.
