This is the best wine shop. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable. There are so many options at so many price points. And as an added bonus they deliver! I trust them so completely that at this point I give them broad descriptions on the delivery (for instance: a case of mixed dry red wines in the 15 dollar range or heavy whites not from France) and their selections blow me out of the water every time. Thumbs up, Heights Chateau! Keep doing what you're doing.

I'm not sure why these guys are listed in an organic wine search. The gentleman at the counter that I talked to had no interest in wine or helping my search at their store. Seemed totally uninterested in the entire subject of wine in fact. Maybe it's hit and miss on who's there, I don't know, but it you're looking for organic wine or a place that cares about wine... I can't really recommend this one. Granted, it was just one visit:)

My go-to place for a huge selection for anything and everything that pertains to wine and spirits. Their inventory spans from extremely high end to budget friendly products. Great place to browse if you're looking to gift some wine to a friend, with brands donning witty labels. Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable.

This is a terrific, longstanding wine and spirits shop. Think I recall buying a few bottles close to 20 years ago, when I was new to Brooklyn and not particularly knowledgeable. More recently, having long since become an insufferable wine geek and increasingly nerdy about booze too, I've really appreciated the excellent selection they've curated here. When I've been nearby and found myself looking for a good gin or rye or tequila, they've offered plenty of really good choices, Stopping in last weekend, a guy who makes wine in Long Island was offering tastes, and his red in particular offered a ton of character and quality at a lower price than I'd've expected. Of course these days Brooklyn has no shortage of really good options for wine and liquors, many of them quite young and hip; this 30+ year stalwart certainly deserves a favored place in that listing. Good pricing too!

Probably my favorite liquor store in the city, with a strong bourbon selection (though somewhat depleted from its peak) and very good scotch selection. Very friendly and knowledgable staff, who can arrange for same-day delivery if you live nearby.

This is a wine store with a huge unique selection. Not just the run of the mill wines. The staff is very friendly. They will offer selections. If you tell them about the occasion for the wine, they will recommend several good selection. This shop is a great place to browse for wines before making your final purchase. Prices are reasonable.

My partner and I used Heights Chateau to purchase wine and liquor for our wedding. Their approach to wedding alcohol can’t be beat. They place an order for about 3x as much alcohol as you will likely need, then you are charged afterward only for what is consumed/opened at the event. Going into our wedding knowing we had extra of everything was huge. We had a wine tasting with the owner, who helped us make some great selections - he kept our budget in mind, even steering us toward a less-expensive white because he felt it went better with our menu. However, once it came to actually ordering and arranging delivery, we found Heights Chateau a bit difficult to communicate with. When we returned our extra booze two days after our wedding, the staff at the store accused us of chilling/submerging an entire case of white wine (this was an unopened box and we didn’t even have the ability to keep that much wine in ice at our venue). While the manager we were working with did not charge us for this wine, it was an unfortunate situation with the store staff. Ultimately, working with Heights Chateau was a positive experience. Their expertise in finding unique wines, mindfulness of our budget, and flexible ordering policy certainly outweighs a few small negative customer service experiences.

Alex and his team provided us with the liquor for our wedding at the Prospect Park Picnic House in October and we couldn't be happier to have worked with them. Their prices are reasonable, the knowledge of their vast product is wide, their service is great and, perhaps best of all for those planning a wedding, they take a very personalized approach to helping you figure out precisely how much booze you need for your guests. My wife and I sat with Alex for over an hour taking him through our needs, tasting some different wines and, with his thoughtful guidance, making our selections. They acted as consultants, not salespeople - which is refreshing when planning a big event. Big bonus: they also take returns on any unopened, un-chilled bottles - giving you extra flexibility. Cheers and thanks to the entire Heights Chateau team for being a top-notch liquor vendor!
