The server was very standoffish. Also they will serve corked wine and insist that it is just "herbacious qualities". They will even taste and smell it and be unable to tell that the bottle had cork taint, so be wary that the employees are far from experts. Eventually someone opened another bottle and claimed that the difference in smell and taste was due to the bottle just being opened. It was one of the worst tasting room experiences I've had in quite some time. Editing this review in regards to response from the winery: You are correct that wine tasting and smelling is often subjective and people smell and taste different things. Things that are NOT subjective is the smell of cork taint. We have tried many bottles of wine that have both cork taint and do not have cork taint. The issue with our visit is not that you served us corked wine. We are aware that wine cork occurs probably more often than people realize. The issue is that you handle the situation poorly and rudely. Not only did two of you INSIST the wine wasn't corked (it was...BOTH of us smelled it independently, and after I smelled at it I looked over and said, oh this is corked, and the other person there with me agreed, so we had both come to an independent assessment about it), it was that we felt really unwelcome from the moment we stepped into your establishment. Your staff did NOT "happily" open a new bottle. In fact, you blatantly tried to convince us that the wine you were serving us was the way you wanted it to taste. You are the only establishment that has tried to convince me that the smell of cork taint is, in fact, a characteristic that you are looking for in a wine. After two people smelled (and tasted) it and told us we were wrong, one person finally, and very reluctantly, offered to open another bottle for us. It was really some of the worst customer service I had ever seen in a tasting room, from start to finish. The 1-star rating is not due to the corked wine. We've had corked wine at other tasting rooms where they have been gracious and changed out the wine (and not once did they argue, they all agreed that the wine was indeed corked). Your 1-star rating is the rude and horrible service you provided the entire time we were there. There was no explanation about the wines or anything, we were just poured them and then the server walked off. Your customer service skills require a lot of work.
