Right now this business receives a score of 4.5 stars out of 5 and that rating was based on 148 reviews.
You may have noticed that it reaches an feddbacks average is nearly the top, and it is based on a very large number of reviews, so we can think that the valuation is very accurate. If many people have bothered to give their opinion when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to give evaluations when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Winery belongs to the category of Winery.
Simply amazing. Hands down the BEST cave tour we have ever experienced. Jonathan, our wine tour guide was knowledgeable and engaging. We spent over 1.5 hours learning everything there is to know about Del Dotto wines. This was a very very memorable experience. We will be returning in the future. This is must visit in St. Helena.
Super nice venue for parties!! Sometimes they have ice sculptures.
Visiting Del Dotto was the highlight of our Napa trip. Tasting the wines directly from the barrel in the caves was a truly special experience. The wines themselves are pricey, but definitely worth it as they are exceptional. Would highly recommend a visit to Del Dotto for anyone visiting Napa.
Wine tasting was fabulous. Great hosts. Best cab I've had.
A must do tour! The wines were amazing and the overall experience incredible. Michael was our guide, and he was so personal, engaging and fun!!
Great experience!
Great experience cave tasting!
Great stuff. You'll drink a lot!
Very pretty, tastings are 30+
(Translated by Google) Last year, I went to Historic and was satisfied, but I came to Estate and I was deeply moved. Even in the same year, tasting by the difference between vineyards was very interesting and the difference was well understood and valuable experience. The knowledge of the staff, correspondence is the best and I would like to come again. I came back again for the first time in a year Del Dotto. This time when I came with a Japanese wine-lover's friend, I used to roll it up and bought it for sale with a lick of Del wine.
Nice interior, marvel pillars.
Went on a private tour. Was amazing! Beautiful and elegant!
The tour of the winery was a great experience. We tasted various types of wines all straight from the barrells. They have a wine called the Beast which they have locked away in a cage, Amazing blend.
Gorgeous place! Our guide, Kristen was wonderful. She enhanced our wine tasting experience with her knowledge and fun personality. The wine was some of the best you’ll taste in Napa.
Wonderful experience! At first my friends and I were a little skeptical about the $75pp charge; however, it was well worth the price. We started with barrel tasting in their cave for about an hour. The guide explained their different wines and the differences between the oak barrels. After the caves, we had pizza, meats and cheese paired with several additional wines. In the end, we had port paired with dark chocolate. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and we had a wonderful time.
Very interesting architecture. The wine tour into the tunnel is fun. However, the property itself isn't huge and so don't expect to see a lot even with tours.
If you are visiting and only have time to for one winery in Napa Valley, Del Dotto is the one. I have been coming back for years, brought family and friends and it was a great experience every time. IMO the best wines in California and a fun and laid back atmosphere. Very different from some of the stuffy wineries you may find in Napa. Btw, I have tried Del Dotto wines against several much pricier Super Tuscans and Bordeaux grand cru classe A wines. IMO DD beat every one of them. So whether you're a wine connoisseur or simply looking for a fun spot to do some quality day time drinking, you're going to have a great time. If you have time to plan ahead, do the barrel tasting experience at the estate winery. If the weather is nice and you want to also enjoy a snack outside, you will like the tastings with food pairing at Piazza Del Dotto. Enjoy!!
Book early and book now. Cask tastings in Napa are few and far between. Great educational tour of the wine caves followed by pizza to allow you to regain your sobriety before departing to your next stop.
We LOVED our experience at Del Dotto! At first I felt $60 per person was too expensive, but Michael was our tour guide and he made the experience worth it! The majority of the wines are red, but we had some of the smoothest, most delicious Cabernet Sauvignon (and other variety wines) of our entire trip to Napa. Michael was very educational, and funny! And he handled a rowdy crowd in our tour group well. Even though the tour is only through one cave, we felt the experience of tasting wine directly from the barrel was unique and awesome! At the end we counted that we had sampled at least 10 different wines and the pours were generous. We came back later in the day to purchase a few bottles, and once again Michael was extremely helpful in choosing the right wines by talking with us and providing additional samples. We will definitely return!
Kitschy and overpriced
Thanks cave experience and tasting is incredible! The building itself is beautiful and the guide is able to tell you all about it. You get to try 8 wines and they bring out a fair amount of snacks at the end too. Meats, cheeses, small pizzas. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely recommend this!
The cave tasting tour was far and away the best tasting experience I’ve been on. Getting to sample wine side by side, right out of the barrel was special. Todd was a fun host and full of educational bits. 11/10 would go again.
Great cave tour. Worth the price and great experience. Our tour guide was Roseanne
Great staff wines very accommodating
Del Dotto is the best. My husband and I recently took a couples trip to Napa and visited the Del Dotto caves for a second time around, and it was just as great as we remembered. The staff here is so passionate about the wines, and both of their properties are amazing. Because there are multiple locations you may assume this is a corporate-style winery- IT'S NOT! The experience is as personalized and top notch as it gets. The cave tour is a great time and the pizza and cheese plate at the end was a great touch. All of their wines are fantastic! This has become our Napa Valley tradition. My only disappointment is that I can't become a member of the Del Dotto family! Cheers!
Fun and informative Barrel tasting the wine can be pretty pricey it a nice snack at the end
You have got to be kidding me. This is the kind of place people who think Las Vegas is nice recommend. They served a bunch of 2015 cabernets. If you don't see that as a problem then feel free to buy one of their juvenile bottles for $200.
Staff was great, very friendly. They offered cheese! Why don't more tasting rooms offer cheese!
Bar None, The Best Wine out here!
Very nice i don't drink but I'm told the wine here is very good alone with the pricing
Great tour, caves are worth the trip by themselves. Was a lot of fun trying the wines straight from the barrel. Definitely a unique place.
My boss absolutely loves this winery!!!!
It was an amazing experience, delicious wines, a bit pricey.
A fantastic upscale winery. We had a group of eleven, including young kids, and the staff successfully got everyone’s attention. It was our first time to taste wine made in clay barrels. The staff was not only knowledgeable but also humorous. Everyone in our group had a great time and excellent experience here. Highly recommended.
I am from Chicago Il. I grew up in the Bay Area. I have been to Napa 100's of times. We went on a CAVE TOUR Feb 25th 2014, Excellent. Tim Leonard, took his time and did an OUTSTANDING job, from hello to good-bye. Thank you, David Krochmal
Del Dotto Wineray Estate is done in an Italian ornate style that replicates Tuscany. The caves have terra cottages tiles and chandeliers imported from Italy. Thier Zinfandel is exquiste.
There is no better place to be in the Napa Valley. Food....Amazing, Wine....Crazy, Parties....from what I remember they are always a blast!
If you can tour with Simon you're in for a treat. There are cheaper tours, don't come here if you're looking for cheap. This place is an experience.
Excellent wines, and excellent hospitality.
wonderful wine, Tim our wine guide was great fun and informative.
This was my favorite winery on our trip to Napa. The wine was good, but the staff was so friendly and really gave so much more personal attention than anywhere else we went. You could tell it was a fun place to work and they enjoyed their jobs. The cave was also very cool to see and the grounds and building are just gorgeous.
Marc was amazing.
Lovely scenery and wine tasting from the barrel and in the cave!
It's very enchanting and inviting, all of the employees are very courteous, it's a romantic getaway for any occasion .My Family and I are very excited to share our experience ...
Not only good wine, but great service and we got food at the end
Very classy wine tasting
Best winery in the Valley, nobody comes close. Tours are outstanding like their wine!
Definitely a must visit for any wine lover or any visitor with a desire to taste some good wine. My favorites here are the Cave Blend and ALL of their French Oak Cabs. It’s too bad that their wines are really hard to get at retail outlets, they just make me visit them all the more. Plan to spend at least 1.5 hours on this pit stop. There are three properties of Del Dotto, I think this one’s the best for wine but I may be biased. :)
Alex, our host, was phenomenal! If you are a red wine enthusiast this winery is a MUST! The entire cave experience including the hearty plate of charcuterie, cheeses, pizza, and chocolates at the end is worth every cent! Amazing!
Awesome
Such an under rated winery. Had a great tasting with Jennifer with some really nice wines. Recommend a visit.
Make an appointment!!
Cabs and chards are best of class in the Napa valley. Very knowledgable team of employees. Marc is a spectacular host with a deep understanding of the DD history along with the MANY varietals they serve and taste
Our guide was the singular low point of the tour. It felt like a high pressure sales tactic in its entirety. We enjoyed the wines but could have done without Dan's schtick.
Beautiful place
Best Cave tasting tour in Napa Valley
Excellent experience! Our guide Jeff really went the extra mile to make sure my lady and I had a great time, and fully answered all of our questions. From the road it's definitely easy to miss, but if you get the chance, strongly recommended. Wines are mostly Cabernet Sauvignon reds, which makes sense based on where they're located in the valley.
Fantastic place with great wines and knowledgeable staff. Not your ordinary vineyard visit.
Went to Del Dotto very excited and left feeling used. The experience they offer is very overpriced for what you get, and our host was quite low on his level of fun and very high on his level of snootiness. They have good wine, but there is a lot of good wine in the area for much more down to earth price points. The experience seems like it is a wine tasting in caves and meat and cheese pairing after the tour. Although that is true, both are on the slim side. The tastings were small and you were not given an opportunity to taste a second time. The meat and cheese plate they put out is more sized for two and they served it to eight. This left everyone feeling uncomfortable that they might be taking away the chance for someone to try something on the plate as there wasn't even a taste of each element for each person. This part of the tour is also very rushed at the end after you do the cave tour and while they are hoping you buy their overpriced wine - $85 - $195 a bottle which is not even bottled yet. The cave itself seems gimmicky too. In terms of our host, he started out fine with a nice greeting, but became more and more snooty as the tour went on. Someone needs to tell these folks how to have fun and welcome guests; especially those who may be shelling out that kind of cash.
If you tour Del Dotto, I hope you have Dan as a guide. Dan was a wonderful guide and really made the experience with his breadth of knowledge and great sense of humor! Also a very unique experience being able to taste straight from the barrel. It was an added treat to sample some of their homemade meats.
Fabulous winery! Rich, smooth and silky red wines. Beautiful tasting salon. Wonderful experience!
Very rude customer service, regardless of what you spend. But, the wine is great.
We had a great time! The winery is wonderful and Matt gave us a very well informed tour! Don't forget to buy your wine before you leave!
The wine cave is out of this world, especially at the end. Lavish.
Bezos approves.
Wines are good, not great. But tour is like no other. Pure salesmanship, but entertaining. Plus, underground to beat the heat.
Really wonderful experience but a bit expensive. Worth the visit!
Cave tour was interesting and the pours were generous but the tour guide was just going through the motions. Get yourself a better guide and you'll have a five-star experience.
It's expensive but the pours are generous. Our guide was very informative and enjoyable.
A very ornate setting. We had a good selection of wines to taste.
Ok, drank a lot,
Very unique tasting experience, definitely unlike anything I've tried in Napa!
I have to say that their wine is very good but the $60 each for their cave tour and tasting is a bit steep, especially since they don't wave the fee if you buy anything. A completely different experience than that at their old caves in Napa but still fun if you've never done it before.
DO NOT GO TO PIAZZA -Was not treated very nicely at the end of our tour were told we told too loud and out of control by Simon. Ultimately that is not just just true paid a good amount per couple over $1K per couple between the tasting and wine tour which not great and in the end were embarrassed. We have been to the historic tavern and Estate tours which many friends which has never been an issue until today. I am sadden as yes after many glasses of wine we may have been a bit loud at the end but this have never been an issue at any winery until we visited until today. So unless you plan on being on your best behavior - quiet, eloquent and not verbose DO NO GO to this winery
I've been to this location twice and it will always be my favorite experience in Napa. Yes, it's an EXPERIENCE, not just a wine tasting. It's so much bang for your buck: hilarious tour guides, barrel tasting, lots and lots of wine, cheese, pizza, and chocolate. Alex was such a fun tour guide. Everything is beautiful. The wine is delicious!
Fun tour and tasting through their wine cave. Learned about about their use of barrels and it's impact on flavor profile. Eric was a great guide!
Very kind! Beautiful!
Met the owner Dave and sampled multiple wines each more rich and amazing than the last. The cave is opulent yet simple and overwhelms the senses when combined with the world's best wine!
Pricey tasting but you get to sample a nice variety of their cabs. We got to taste several wines from different oak barrel makers and types. This is a nice establishment and our tour guide Robert was a fun host. Del Dotto is not distributed so you'll need to come in to try and buy their wines.
This winery is overrated and definitely overpriced, Paying $60 per person. The only tour given is through a short cave. The wines are OK, but not worth the money!!
The wine was amazing and our guide Michael was phenomenal! Very informative and entertaining!
If you’re short on time... skip it. But, if you want to experience something “different” this is worth a look.
So beautiful, great wines and wonderful accommodating staff !
Great wines and tours! Small winery with big aspirations
The reds here are fantastic and if you're in a good group that's engaging and enjoys conversation your guide should open up a wonderful world of Del Dotto wines to you. I was skeptical about the tour, but that's how I am generally with tour groups at vineyards, but this one was more personable.
A great and unique tour. Well worth the price of admission.
The head chef, Joshua is a real artist and knows how to do food so right! Don't miss his pairings!
Had Dan as a tour guide and he is hands down the best and funniest guide I've had in Napa. Del dotto was an absolute treat!
Fun experience and good wines, be prepared to have at least six glasses, most likely more. The pizza, cheese and meats at the end of the tour are really good. Just a reminder, they have two locations with caves, make sure you are going to the correct one.
Awesome reds here and very helpful tour guides
We accidently went to the wrong spot (since there are 3 locations). Marc made us feel at ease and resscheduled it (unlike another place that gave us a hard time). He even let us check out the cave. Beautiful estate and wine cave. Definitely coming back again. By far one the top places we went to in Napa.
Beautiful grounds, gorgeous estate with some of the very best wine around.
Great wine lots of wines to taste. Will get you dizzy. And great food at the end. Cheese. Meats and pizza. Tons of food and great chocolate also
