Gorgeous inside and out! Sat betwixt a rolling hillside and grape crop that looks like it goes on forever Black Stallion gets atmosphere right. Various seating options for if you'd like to taste outside on the patio while enjoying the views and the tranquil sound of flowing water from an outdoor water feature or inside the main tasting room if you'd prefer where you can admire the wine barrels stacked sky high. Wonderful staff, very attentive and accommodating. My family and I went in for a tasting last week. I didn't catch her name, but the woman who served us customized the tasting to what me and my wife preferred (we love white wines and don't care for reds). Aside from that she was very pleasant and made great conversation. I've been here several times on my own and each time has been better than the last. Love this place!

Walked in. No one greeted us. Stood at the host stand and the bartender took the next couple after seeing us stand there. No information Offered about the wine other than generics “estate” etc. sat outside to drink and no one came to check on us. Asked for water when I went back in, he pointed to the water jug on the end of counter. Which is fine, but not professional or friendly when you’re trying to sell me your wine. Visited 8 wineries so far, bought something from every one of the but this one. Disappointed.

Wasn’t amazed by the red wine tasting, and the charcuterie + cheese platter is very overpriced (45usd) for the amount and quality of 3 similar types of the cheeses and 2 types of salamis with some additional ingredients. Also slightly disappointed that we were not able to buy a glass of wine to enjoy on the outdoor terrace, tasting flights are the only option. However we understand that this is quite common at the wineries in Napa Valley.

If you like Cabernet and want an educational experience Pine Ridge is the place to go! Danika did an excellent job of explaining Napa regions and was so sweet. Typical 5 wine tasting (4 of 5 are Cabernet) with extra pours possible. $$-$$$ Will be returning.

I love this place! They have great wines that are reasonably priced, a beautiful historical estate and great staff! I typically go about once a year to see what each vintage is like and usually end up taking a few bottles home every time. One particular experience stood out as a group of bay area car owners took a cruise through the Napa Valley and stopped at Black Stallion to take a break and enjoy the outdoor patio. The Tasting Room Manager Mary Allen was VERY accommodating to our group and we ended up staying for a while enjoying the beautiful day! Thank you Mary!

The standard Napa winery visit. Nice inside but had to wait a while at the bar to get service. We walked up several times and then had to ask a someone working there if there was a system to taste. Other than that they accepted a 2 for 1 tasting coupon

My husband and I just returned from a week in Napa Valley. We visited at least 10 vineyards and tasted at least 50 different wines. Our visit to Black Stallion was the high point of our visit. We tasted seven different wines and each was wonderful. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. We loved it so much we joined their wine club. Their wine was great tasting and is not very expensive (a rarity for great wine in Napa Valley).

Quick visit to the winery. Most time spent in the tasting/sales room. Bought some wine to be delivered to my home for a $50 fee. FedEx sent an email promising delivery on a Friday that required a signature. Wine arrived on Sat at 4:00. We missed two days of golf waiting for the package and had to pay the shipping bill. Never again, and no invoice in the package. That's a first for me No more wine from Black Stallion.

4-wine tastings as low as $20. Enjoy public tastings at the bar, no reservation required. Staff is helpful and friendly. There is a shop with locally made jewelry and bags in the public tasting room.

Did not feel welcome on arrival. Server Lydia was rude and sarcastic and got into a verbal sparring match with us over the meaning of the phrase one wine tasting. Poor hospitality. Needless to say we left without making a purchase

The red wines that we sampled were excellent. The staff was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. This was well worth the stop. We stoped by the visitors center and picked up a coupon for two for one sample.

Went for a private event and it was lovely. Beautiful grounds and the wines were nice. Chardonnay was nice, light and fruity. Not too buttery like other chardonnays.

Was our last stop of the day right before they closed, so our tasting was cut short, but we still ended up buying 4 bottles! Great winery, and they have a variety of price points available, depending on what you’re looking to spend. Also note- military gets free tastings and 35% off purchases I believe. Will definitely be back for a full tasting in the future!

The wines were great and the land is absolutely amazing. However, the staff was not very attentive. We did arrive about 30min prior to closing time, so that could explain why the staff was not very attentive. I really loved the grounds of this winery. However, the tasting room is a little overplayed- there is a lot of tourist oriented things such as stuffed horses. Overall, I enjoyed the tasting but I'm not sure if I would visit again.

Please go here! My initial impression was that it seemed formal and corporate but I was wrong. It's actually very cool. What makes it is the staff. They are lovely, friendly people. Clint in particular treated us like royalty. Lydia and Terri were so kind and caring too. The bad news is that the expensive wines are the most delicious so you'll want to dig deep in those pockets! However, you'll still enjoy the 20 dollar taster but you should definitely see if you can budget for something a little more. Thank you Black Stallion.

Beautiful Winery near the beginning of Silverado Trail (left side of the road heading North). Good news is that they are dog friendly. Plenty of parking. Real nice patio area. Wine tasting starts at $20. Check out their website for more information. A thumbs up from me.

Overall a fantastic smaller scale winery that doesn't leave you feeling like you're in a place over your head. TR is very well done, staffed with courteous people who make you feel almost at home. A large open tasting room with a tasting bar in the center. A beautiful property and the wines are delicious. We don't come in her nearly as often as we should. I always leave with a few bottles from here. I'm not typically into white wines but the Viognier and white blend are very refreshing on these warm summer days. Something for everyone.

It can be very busy but overall a great place. Visited many times and brought out of town guests with us, never a bad experience and often times the staff has gone out of their way to ensure a good time for winery guests. They also serve gourmet flat bread pizza and small bites on certain days of the week. Easy to get to and good wines.

Went in for a wine and cheese tasting. Spent a solid 5 minutes waiting at the bar before anyone came over to see if we wanted to order. Sat out on the patio for our tasting and it was quite lovely and spacious. Our server had little to no interest in us and seemed surprised when we came back inside to pay for our tasting. Didn't remember us at all. We could have left without paying and no one would have noticed (but we didn't). Wine was decent and the cheese offering generious, but with the number of really good wineries in the area I doubt I'd bring anyone back to Black Stallion.

Bad service with 0 knowledge about their wines (up to the point that they did not know how to pronounce the wines names, let alone what is in the wine or how it's made..). The wines were not that great either. I've heard that this place used to be very good, but going down the hill becoming very corporate. I think you can do better in other wineries.

Very friendly staff and an excellent wine tasting experience. After our tasting we ordered nine bottles to be delivered back home. They have a wine club that offers discounted pricing and quarterly shipments. Reasonably priced and a great addition to our trip to Napa valley.
