What a great place to eat! The old wine cellar makes a very cool restaurant. The atmosphere is great. The service was wonderful as well, our waiter did a great job. The food was good I had steak and shrimp. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and so was the steak but the steak was very tough. The bathrooms are a little scary. For the prices you pay you would expect them to remodel things like that

While passing through the area on May 11, 2019, we asked for restaurant recommendations and this place was mentioned. After visiting the wine sales room we went to the restaurant. Upon entering, we noticed water on the entry area floor from recent rain. We were seated immediately and our drink orders were taken and bread was delivered to the table. We ordered fried mushrooms as our appetizer. They were delivered promptly and were hot and tasty. I ordered the sausage entree and my spouse ordered beef stroganoff. Our salads were delivered and they were very small and plain. The sausage meal was good but the beef stroganoff was very bland, disappointing and seemed to be somewhat of an afterthought. Our server was professional and attentive but overall, we considered our dining experience to be only average, hence the three star rating. It is not a place we would consider revisiting in the future.

We took my mother in law there for her birthday. Very disappointing. The timing of the food was off. My mother in law was served last on her birthday. Not cool at all. We have eaten there before and it wasn't like this. Probably will not go back. 5pm Oct.27, 2018

I came to Wiederkehr wine in 2011 and had a great time. I was pregnant at the time but they provided an alternative of grape juice during the taste testing. I also went on the tour and it was very comprehensive. I came today with my family and everything was run down. The tour was only about 5 minutes long, we didn't get a free cork like last time, and when we did the tasting I asked about an alternative for my kids and was told "water" by a very rude employee. After that I had had enough. I won't be purchasing any more Wiederkehr wine after this due to a very poor experience. It really put a bad taste in my mouth.

We were visiting my mom in Arkansas and she thought she had heard good things about this restaurant. Turns out she misunderstood - she was actually told it USED to be good but has since gone down hill. It was too late though. The restaurant itself is pretty quaint and in a very nice setting. We expected an above average dining experience. We ordered the cheese fondue. It was the WORST fondue ever. Every bite was like taking a shot of whatever alcohol they put in it. My husband commented that they probably drank their taste buds away or something. I asked the waitress if it was supposed to taste so strongly of alcohol. She said yes and did not at all seem open to anything contradictory. So I let it go. Especially since it was supposed to be a fun occasion with my mom and I didn't want her to feel any worse than she already did. As a group we ordered house salad - which was fine, think bagged store salad. As well as the strogonoff, chicken parm, and reuben. The strogonoff had a hint of too much alcohol not cooked off right and was nothing special. The chicken parm was the only acceptable dish. The reuben was soggy and greasy from the first bite. You've been warned. Go somewhere else. I'd rather go to fast food than this any day of the week.

My girlfriend and I decided to give this place a try because the pictures looked cool. The restroom sign outside of the restaurant pointed to an older building, but we thought it was probably just a cosmetic thing to try making people feel in the country. We walked in, hardly anybody there but we still decided to give it a try. We pulled up a seat and checked out the menu. It very high priced and not what we were expecting just based on the outside atmosphere. I was thinking it was going to be a small town little swiss restaurant, not an attempt at a 5star. We went ahead and ordered two glasses of wine and the cheese/fruit tray. The fruit part was lacking as there were 8 grapes, and half of them were over ripe. The wine wasn't bad, but based on the cheese tray alone we weren't going to try any of their actual food. Lots of negative reviews on the food that we found afterwards, but hindsight is always 20/20.

I have visited here many years ago and the food was just as tasty as I remembered and we received great service. Definitely worth a stop. Sausage plate at lunch and beef stroganoff were delicious as was the atmosphere.

My wife and I ate lunch at Wiederkehr's restaurant. Atmosphere has a nice bavarian coziness. Unfortunately, the food was a big disappointment. The bread was stale. I ordered the stroganoff, which was not up to frozen entree standards. The beef taste and texture was overcooked, frozen and warmed up. The "mushroom sauce" was over salted and lacked any mushrooms. What a missed opportunity for decent european food, which is mostly inexpensive and quick to prepare. I understand that Wiederkehr's makes their money selling wine. But their restaurant should be held to some standard of quality, if for no other reason than to promote the brand. No complaint on the wait staff - they were excellent.

Loved going to Wiederkehr with the hubby. Wiederkehr's cellars are kept in an intimate setting. The Wiederkehr Garden can be rented out for weddings. The tours are short and the people are friendly and helpful. The wine tasting was great. As I am diabetic, I really enjoyed the sugar free white wine. Splendid. It doesn't have the splenda taste and the prices are reasonable. Stop in for a wine tasting and tour you'll love it.

My wife and I visited the winery in 2014 during the wine festival. We had dinner there, and even though it was packed, the food and service were both good. We decided to return tonight for an anniversary dinner, after being reminded of the restaurant through local TV commercials. We had a very different experience tonight. We arrived around 5:30 (opens for dinner at 5) and were promptly seated. Only two other tables were being served at the time. After looking over the menu, and a suggestion from the waitress for my wife to order fish, we began our wait. Two more tables were seated shortly after we ordered, one of which was a party of four. As they began to order, I overheard the waitress tell them that the restaurant had only two (2) cuts of Filet Mignon. (How does a place have only 2 when they use it as their specialty cut and advertise it on TV?) Well, after about 25 mins, the table sat after us was served their food (both ordered steak, one was even well done) as we continued to wait. After another 10 minutes, our food arrived. First for my wife, she ordered Trout Almondine. She was thrown off by the brown color of the fish, but tried it anyway. After less than 5 bites, she pushed it away, complaining about a strange sauce it was served in. Jumping to the end of the meal, I asked the waitress what the sauce was, and she said "just butter". After a few more questions she said it was also "sauteed in wine". As for my meal, I had ordered Rib eye. The menu stated "a hearty cut of prime Angus beef". I would not call what I had a "prime cut" of meat. I have bought better at the local grocery on markdown special as the date was running out. While the temperature of the inside of the steak was correct, the outside was burnt and tough. We got our bill and went to the register to pay. When asked how the meal was, I replied honestly and told her it was disappointing. I told her the things we found wrong, and she went to get the manager. After another few minutes wait, she returned and said the manager offered to take 25% off of the bill. While the waitress did a good job (even with 6 tables) and the hostess/cashier was pleasant and apologetic, the mangers refusal to come out, and the offer of 25% discount seems inadequate. At this point, I am not sure if we will return. Perhaps a third trip to break the good/bad tie that we currently have is in order, but for now, I will rate the place 2 stars

I stopped by with my wife and tasted several varieties of wines. Most of the tastings we chose were sweet or semi-sweet, but they did have drier varieties also. We also went to the restaurant and had a couple snacks of delicious German potato salad, apple dumpling, and apple streusel. If you want sweeter desserts go with the apple streusel or add ice cream to the apple dumpling. Arrive early if you want the tour of the facilities - probably before 3:00 PM. We were too late for a tour at 4:45 PM. Overall, it was worth the stop.

This is the best attraction off I-40 that gets the worst foot traffic. The venue is amazing and the food takes you back to your oma's house. After you stop once, you'll want to stop on every road trip.

We ate at the restaurant, no wine tasting, but had wine with dinner. The place is cute, but a little run down. We didn't care for the food, especially for the price. The service was pretty good, but the staff stood around in the dining room talking when they weren't busy at one point they were discussing breakfast cereals. The wine that we did have was very good and reasonably priced. Maybe they should just do wine as it seems that is what they do best.

The restaurant is lit very dimly. It took a while for our eyes to adjust. But the food! And the dessert! And the wine! I'd give this more than five stars if I could. Everything was delicious, and the staff was friendly and attentive. It's a few miles south of I40, but it's now become our favorite place to stop to eat when we're passing by.

Sat there for over an hour waiting on our food. When we finally got it it was nasty. My salmon was dry, my cousins chicken alfredo was hard and barely any sauce on them, and my mom and aunts veal was tough. Side portions of vegetables and potatoes were REALLY small. I will not go here again. This was on May 26th, 2018 in the evening.

What I wound imagine stepping into a Swiss chalet. Quaint and romantic atmosphere. Welcoming and friendly staff. Food was delicious. The onion soup was like nothing we have had before. The Weidekehr family produces an amazing variety of wines.

I haven't been here in years, even living just five minutes away, in the past I have had iffy experiences but after today my hope has been restored. Our personal favorites have always been the Swiss onion soup, the cheese fondue, and the quiche. They were all wonderful, cooked to perfection and just how my grandma used to make for family occasions. I will definitely be returning here for a date night or two the atmosphere is brilliant, the service was fantastic, and the food is definitely worth it. Oh how I missed it, I could explain the atmosphere myself but I'll let you figure it out for yourself. You almost feel as though you are in a completely different part of the world. P.S. the three foods I listed are definitely worth a try, you won't regret it.

We were saddened when we dropped in for a tasting on 8/19. The employee in charge of the tasting seemed frustrated about something. She didn't offer one suggestion of a wine, but simply kept asking "What do you like to drink?". Not being a big wine drinker, I asked her for recommendations and she simply repeated her question again. We bought wine at the other wineries down the road because they suggested wines based on what we liked or didnt. You'll get a superior experience about a mile down the road at the other places. We also attempted to eat at the restaurant. We asked the hostess (who was on the phone for the first minute we stood in the door) if we could sit at one of the two tables outside. We were told no, they dont serve those tables, but we could order it "to go" and sit out there if we liked. These tables were within ten feet of tables inside, and we even asked about not ordering alcohol. Still told no. We chose to go somewhere else. Probably best, the place looked like a dump and was empty anyway. Keep driving. There are people who want your business just a mile or so further.

The wines were fabulous this time and you could tell there have been some major improvements. I recommend now giving this spot a second chance. Waitress in the restraunt made the day all so amazing. The food tasted great and was very well seasoned! We heard there was a new chef and thought we should see how good he actually was, and I will tell you he is outstanding. Young lady in the tasting room was very sweet! I definetly recommend stopping by and seeing all the amazing changess and improvements that have been made!

Came here by complete accident while attempting to drive cross country moving from California to Tennessee. My car broke down off the highway and we made it to this winery before the alternator gave out. The employee gave us and our 2 kids free water, chips and juice and we sampled wines and ended up buying 3 bottles as well as a jar of their jam while waiting on roadside assistance, all in all 10 out of 10, would break down here again!

Absolutely disgusted&&disappointed in our last visit to wiederkehrs on 6/11/18. It's always been a family&&local famous favorite place to go to for some "good mood food". Unfortunately we weren't so lucky last time around. We were the only table of 4. 3 of us ordered the steak n shrimp lugano and 1 ordered the filet mignon. All steaks were ordered to be cooked separately; the filet mignon was ordered med. rare but came out so rare it was still cold in the center! The other 3 sirloins were- 1 ordered med. came out rare 1 ordered med. well came out rare 1 ordered extra well done came out med. rare 2x after an hour and 15mins later! 2 of us substituted our swiss potatoes for French fries. When our plates came it had a small ramekin of literally 9 fries inside. I had to ask for more bc it was just unreasonable. Between 3 shrimp skewers maybe 7 shrimp total were eaten. 4 waters. The soup was served cold the salad so small it couldn't feed a rabbit. The bread stale as cardboard. The waitress said she take 30% off ea meal but still demanded $82.70! I couldn't pay that I did offer to pay for what was eaten but before she would reason w me she just screamed quite unquote "just get the hell out"! Sadly, but certainly we will not be going back. The pics can say more than I can tho.

Wiederkehr Weinkeller Restaurant is a jewel in the great state of Arkansas! Swiss and European delights are served at this outstanding establishment. Two must haves in my opinion are the Swiss onion soup and the cheese fondue. Both are delicious. The atmosphere is authentic and I really like the dripped candles on the tables. Wonderful service! Exceptional food! Bucket list worthy! 11/10!

Good wine, but food is over priced for something I wouldn't even feed my dog. Tried them three times already hoping it will get better and every year I get the same result. Two thumbs down on their food. Next time I am just going to the winery and stay away from their restaurant.

My family and I were so disappointed. Because of the extreme high prices Per dish the expectations were for high quality food and customer service that was expected to be great. Not only did the food come 1 1/2 hrs later (with only 4 people in venue at the time) the food was terrible. 4 dishes were ordered.... 1. Steak & Lobster (39.99) .... steak was tough couldn't cut with knife the Lobster was more like Calamari.. wouldn't come off the shell.. rubbery! 2. Steak & Shrimp (19.99) ...steak was the same.. but scrimp were the size of a quarter and looked as if they were cooked on a grill pressed down with a spatula.. blackened... 3. Sausage Plate(19.99)... hubby didn't complain just said there was no wow to it 4. Kids Chicken Strips (3.99).... Taste like they were bought at Sams and deep fried unthawed ... now wow factor either.. fries were ok Dishes were served with a veg that was OK... and potatoes with a fancy name that taste like they were cooked in a roasting pan with a roast all day... Dads steak was replaced another hour later! But by then we were just done... however it was much better ...... he ate about a third of it but was just finished with the venue.. finished with the BAD food and the BAD service... Plus the price of drinks! My recommendations is DONT waste your hard earned money until these people have had some real training in preparing a fine cuisine for there high prices! We are from Oklahoma.. With Trappers and Cattlemens and Red Lobster at a fraction of the price... We must be spoiled! I will never eat there again.....

Came here during a recent visit to the area and it was wonderful in so many ways. The food was very good, but more than that, the setting was really unique. I don't know how to describe the setting other than cozy Swiss Chalet :-) I had the steak and it was pretty good. The apple strudel with ice cream as excellent. The service we very good. If you are looking for a unique experience, def check it out.

I first went to this lovely restaurant at age 14. I am now 59. I continued going for the unique atmosphere and the Swiss onion soup. Was so disappointed tonight. The soup I loved so much was onion water with about 3 tiny shreds of cheese. I use to have to wrap the cheese around my spoon just to get a bite of soup. The wine tasting was a joke! Tablespoon of wine and a poor attitude . However the Quiche was Devine. The sides were really sad. Our waitress could not seem to get focused on our needs. We had to raise our hands for refills. Our special place is no longer special .

Loved the wonderful sweet wines especially the Strawberry Wine! We broke down on our way to TN right by the winery and Kimberlynn was so sweet. She gave the two little ones juice and snacks. If you are going to break down on the road no better place than in front of a winery!

Went there for our anniversary last night. I ordered the steak and lobster ($36). My German potatoes came out ice cold. My steak was WELL DONE...I had ordered mine medium. Lastly, my lobster was overcooked and rubbery. To their credit, our waitress was so sweet and fixed what she could. She brought me a new serving of potatoes (that were hot ) and had them redo my steak. (I didn't even mention the lobster to her.) Unfortunately my steak came out overcooked again and without the herb butter. I went ahead and ate the steak and the waitress brought me some herb butter. Also, the waitress very nicely did not charge us for my meal. On the plus side...my husband liked the chicken dish he ordered. (Even though his potatoes were cold too. )The sausage appetizer we ordered was good. Also, the bread/butter, onion soup, and the cheesecake with strawberry topping were very good. Did like the romantic ambiance. Had been there before and it was all great. First time we've been disappointed.

Besides the wine being absolutely awful and more like really sweet grape juice than wine, the owner is completely incompetent. He does not communicate with staff when planning events even though the winery hosts events. The roof in the beer garden/reception hall leaks; the staff know, but he hasn't had repaired it. The air conditioning does not work, and he still won't get it replaced or adequately repaired. His staff was completely absent for set up and clean up of the event, even to the extent that the beer garden carpet never got vacuumed and it was assumed we'd be doing that even though the contract clearly states that cleaning is part of the rental fee. The bathrooms are atrocious, and in general, no one should ever have an even here or buy the wine.

We did not visit the wine tasting here because of the terrible reviews and a family members bad review of it a few weeks ago. However, we did visit the restaurant for an Anniversary dinner Saturday night. My Wife had the Steak and Shrimp, as I had the Steak and Lobster. My steak was cooked to perfection and had a great taste. My Lobster was very meaty, however the seasoning on it was not a good match with the Lobster it's self. My Wife's steak was cooked to her liking, but had a weird after-taste to it. Her Shrimp were pretty much tasteless and again seemed to have the same type seasoning that the Lobster had. My wife had a nice dessert though and I ended up squeezing a few Goose Berries from the back kitchen as these are very good. The potatoes on the plate for these 2 dishes were excellent and the service was above-average. I would've gave this 4-star's had the seafood been better.

The hours have changed for the restaurant. They are open for lunch from 11 to 2. We showed up about 8 min past 2 and they seated us anyway. The waitress was cheerful and polite. Food was very good, and the price was about what you would expect to pay. Over all this was a great experience.

3 stars because overall it's really just ok. The atmosphere is the most amazing thing about this place and truly takes you out of Arkansas. Our service was prompt and good and helpful. The menu is lacking. I had to eat a side salad and French fries as those were the only options without meat. Left feeling a little disappointed. Maybe a menu revamp and working on capturing a younger crowd could really help this place become a destination.

We've been to Weinkeller several times over the last couple of years. The food and service have always been good. This time around, both were beyond outstanding! Our steaks were tender and packed with flavor; we were so pleased to have a good steak close to home. We can't say enough nice things about our waiter this time as well. Blake was personable, prompt and very knowledgeable. We left wondering why we had waited so long between visits. We won't wait so long next time! Thanks for a wonderful date night, Weinkeller!

Pulled into the parking lot and could not tell what was open. The European village buildings seemed sad and run down. The tasting room was dark and dreary and the employees mood matched the decor. There was nobody to greet us, no clear signs on where to go or which buildings were open. There are better choices in the area.
