As a photographer (Awakening Photography), I highly recommend this venue for clients. It is a beautiful venue and while I have seen better indoor lighting elsewhere, theres is not terrible to work with. They've done a great job all together, here are a few photos of my most recent wedding from there in May 2019.
I would have given a 5 star for price and venue but wait staff weren’t overly friendly. Luckily we read about venue prior to going so we knew what we wanted. Female staff was nice. Male staff was somewhat rude. I’ve been to a lot of wineries and the staff were always excited to tell us about their winery, offer options for snacks, tell us about daily specials, and well just welcome us to their winery. Didn’t get that feeling today. Luckily, the venue offered live music , great wine, good pizza, and a beautiful setting so the day, all in all, was good.
Beautiful setting!! Girl working was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly!!
My wife and I started “date night” at another location and it was horrible. We found SSV on line and you “rescued” our date...thank you!!! Incredible place and Gene/Cheryl-awesome people!
Sassafras is an amazing place and we love coming to the winery and attending events at the Stables! Both Cheryl and Gene are amazing and they go above and beyond to make each guest experience the best. I highly recommend Sassafras!
So Beautiful!!! They are so down to earth and the wine was great!!!
Very quaint and chic tucked away in the Arkansas frontier. Very friendly staff and great products will have us returning very soon!
Great patio
Quaint and peaceful! Love this place! I wish we could visit it more often!
Really beautiful and classy atmosphere, especially if you go in the evening. Their wines are really nice and this would be a great place for a romantic date. There are several decks with the lowest one next to the sassafras springs creek. Occasionally they have live music, but it's usually acoustic so it keeps that nice atmosphere where you can still chat without yelling.
It is a very nice and unique place .
This place is beautiful and the deck area is nice area to sit and relax. Visually, I was impressed inside and out. Especially at night. However, the reason I didn't give five stars is because the price of the wine is a bit much. We each got a flight and a glass. The wine is really delicious though. Worth checking this place out.
Fantastic wine and amazing service. Staff took care of us during a baby shower and recommended wines that we ended up loving. Beautiful grounds and a well stocked snack freezer make Sassafras a place I will come back to. Highly recommend stopping by!
Perfect reception locale for weddings or corporate celebrations.
What a gorgeous place to visit! This is a great destination for a girls night out, date night, or a wedding/reception! I'm so glad my friend told me about it!
Great experience! We brought a group and the staff was super cheerful and helpful and the patio was lovely.
This is a beautiful scene, especially for weddings. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the lack of paved walking paths. On a wet day, be prepared to get muddy.
Sassafras is a phenomal place to have a drink with friends. The staff is exceptional and truly care about your experience. Great spot to takes friends when they are traveling to Arkansas as well. You will not be disappointed!
Every time, a great time.
Beautiful Wedding
Sassafras Springs is the BEST wedding venue! Everyone was so kind and helpful to make our day the best it could be. The location is so beautiful, the chapel/reception are stunning. Sarah was the most helpful and the staff went over and beyond to make the night so enjoyable!
Great place for a romantic Friday night!
Beautiful location, great selection of wines and the prices were really good.
Such a fun place! The backyard feel with great wine and food and music. What else do you need to relax from a hard week of hard work!! Make sure you try the Rose and Pinot Nior! Springtime’s greatest wines!
Been here a few times meeting friends, came to a murder mystery dinner, and today toured with a friend for her daughters wedding this summer. Beautiful grounds, excellent wine, and the staff are always so friendly and accommodating. Would recommend coming here for any event or just a fun night out.
Great place to relax with friends.
Awsome time with wife and friends listening to Rebecca Billingsley
Sassafras is gorgeous! They can host literally any event or just a romantic or fun night out. We got married here and had so many options for ceremony location just on their property and all the choices were beautiful! The location is so pretty we barely needed to add decor which saved us a bunch on our wedding budget. Definitely recommend!
I teach yoga here, the property is absolutely amazing! Beautiful no matter which direction you are facing. Plus, the wine is fabulous!
The place is beautiful and I saw the wedding chapel from a distance and it looked pretty too. This would be a great place for a wedding, parties, family reunions, etc. Now, for the winery it is small with only three varieties actually made on site and others made in California. The wine was good and I my wife did purchase one bottle at $31. Go for the live music or to attend a party, but don't go for tasting local wines. Drive to wine country in Altus for tasting local wines.
I have had the most awesome events at Sassafras! All my guests have such a wonderful time. The entire area is an experience in itself. There is nothing like this in Northwest Arkansas. We are fortunate to have a winery and event center and soon lodge! Both Gene and Cheryl are incredible to work with. I highly recommend Sassafras!
The venue is just as bragged about by others-- absolutely perfect and beautiful with an amazing ambiance. The only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is they're serving up frozen pizzas, advertised as if they're made in an incredible pizza oven. I'd say this to the owner- if you're going to go the frozen, or partial frozen route, get in touch with Sysco or another distributor and bring in a decent crust. They're already made, ready for sauce, cheese, and toppings.
Nice seating area and great atmosphere for a Sunday afternoon beverage.
Love coming out to Sassafras Springs! It’s a great place to hang out with friends and family, great atmosphere, great staff!
Hands down the best winery in the state! They have the most beautiful decks surrounding the natural beauty of the property. My husband and I visited for the first time this past weekend and had a frantastic time. We will definitely be back in the near future! Thanks Sassafras!
Beautiful wedding venue! I went to a wedding here on a Sunday afternoon. It looks like an old stone chapel with the roof missing. The barn is for receptions and the bathrooms are like a horse stable and hair parlor!
Great atmosphere and great wine. Very relaxing, pretty place.
Beautiful place, great staff, and delicious foods, as well as great wines!
Magical is the only way I could hope of describing this place.
Beautiful space. Indoor and outdoor patios.
Beautiful place
Sassafras is a really comfy and special place to have a party or reception. Have been going there since it opened as and have watched it "grow." My fav thing to do is visit the tasting room!
Beautiful place. But, most wines were too dry for my tastes. The Rosa De Rosa was an excellent wine though. Service wasn't the greatest. They were kinda rude and snobbish. Visited On May 26th.
We visited Sassafras Vineyard and Winery over family weekend at UARK. We were all looking for something different to do, and this was a great option! The atmosphere was great, with lots of outside deck space and tables with umbrellas for shade. The weather was great, and the wooded, natural scenery was perfect. We each purchased a tasting, comprised of four varietals in 2 oz. cups. They had a choice of 4 flights from which to choose. I got the red flight, and my daughter got the white. We switched between us to meet our taste preferences. We are Napa and Sonoma Valley frequenters, and I was impressed with how good the wine was! We had a small charcuterie tray and an appetizer, but I would recommend trying one of their pizzas, as they looked delicious. Had we not already had plans for lunch, would have ordered a couple for sure! Overall, I would say this was a great experience, and a terrific place to visit in NW Arkansas.
Not only a great place to soak up beautiful arkansas scenery but a must see, destination for any wine lover.
Wine, music and atmosphere was great as usual!
Wonderful experience. I never joined monthly clubs until now. Will be back often!
Beautiful location and area! Great place to relax with friends and enjoy some wine.
Gene, Cheryl and the staff bent over backwards to make sure every aspect of our event was perfect. Not only is the venue and surrounding area breathtaking, but the people that you work with are exceptional. Their chairs are premium and we loved that a selection of centerpiece options and linens were available as well. I also recommend you pay to have wine flights for each guest...we received tons of kudos about this special touch!
Nice place. Attended a bridal shower there and it was lovely.
Enjoyed an afternoon at Sassafras Springs Vineyard with our friends! Comfortable atmosphere and great customer service!
Awesome place
Gorgeous secluded winery- we went to one of those catered dinners and it was delicious! The selection of wine was vast & I HIGHLY recommend getting a cheese board- selecting your own meats and cheeses really makes a difference!
Sassafras Springs is a very unique place and places like this are the reason I love Northwest Arkansas. The winery is a fun spot to have a drink and eat on the patio. We looked at Sassafras for our wedding venue and loved the Chapel Ruins. The reception space is a large industrial style barn with a really pretty inside area. We ultimately went with another venue, as we were looking for a woodsy feel with a modern twist but Sassafras was a close second.
Very nice wines available here. I sampled four different wines and ended up buying a bottle. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We also held a private party at their event building. Great space, fine staff, and better price than we found at similar venues. We did shop around first. And I have to say, nicest bathrooms I've ever seen at such a venue. Would definitely visit the winery or book an event with them again.
We had our daughters 40th Birthday party under the covered deck. A big rain hit just an hour before the party. The staff was amazing!!! They went above the call of duty to help change linens, dry the area and assist to get the party started!! Great service, great venue and great wine!!
We love to go to Sassafrass Springs Winery to hang out and visit with friends. It's so relaxing on the decks under a canopy of trees.
I arrived ready for a nice tasting and experience. The venue and setting is beautiful. But, unfortunately, the guy behind the bar was not friendly or helpful beyond the basic get you what you asked for. No explanation or background on the wines received in the flight. Which is literally why you do a tasting. He did not make us feel welcome or like he really enjoyed his job. The wines were decent. Basic and drinkable but not really worth the price of a bottle. We won't be back. Customer service takes so little effort. It's really disappointing.
Had my brothers wedding here. Beautiful scenery and nice place to chill with a glass of wine
Beautiful place, great drinks, and amazing staff.
Really nice winery. Beautiful setting and the wine maker told us about the grapes and the processes. We loved it!
Beautiful setting, fabulous wine! Live music was a plus!
Horrible. If I could give zero stars and still write this warning, I would. Drove almost ten miles off the highway and left with nothing. Awful service. Awful people.
Absolutely beautiful place
As a wedding vendor (owner of Groove Productions and NWA Magic Mirror) I must say Sassafras is one of the most beautiful and unique venues in Fayetteville! The chapel ruins and the new covered veranda offer two incredible options for your ceremony. They are constantly looking for new ways to improve the property (including the new cottage where guests can stay on property!) Cheryl and her team are amazing to work with, and we look forward to working there any chance we get!
If you are looking for locally made wine... This is the place to go! Also a great venue for a party or wedding.
Beautiful! Excellent staff! Wholly recommend!
Excellent wine, gorgeous place and the best singer to have wonderful night.
My wife and I will celebrate 2 years tomorrow 12/17. Today we went to Sassafras Winery, the place we got married. We have a little tradition where we get an ornament from every place that holds meaning to us. Sadly, they didn’t have any ornaments in their gift shop, BUT as we were walking out, one of the kind employees ran out and said he made this for us while we were enjoying our wine. We are so incredibly humbled by his kindness. What a gift that we will never forget.
I was overcharged on my ticket. I had two glasses of wine and they charged me for three. Mediocre service. Not impressed.
What a fun place to drink wine, the grounds are beautiful
This is a very nice winery! They have interesting wines to choose from. Unfortunately I didn't see any red blends so had to settle for sweet reds. The Rosa di Rosa was great! The SSV west coast Moscato was great! Cheers!
Sassafras Springs is a wonderful little vineyard and wine shop outside Springdale. They make their own wines from both local fruits and those from premier growing regions around the US. We were really impressed by the quality of the patio and bar. It's absolutely lovely. I strongly recommend visiting here if you're a fan of wine and want to waste away an evening.
Kind people, YUMMY food, perfect atmosphere. Great for a fun afternoon with friends and hands-down one of the best, most accommodating wedding venues in the entire state. I can’t say enough good things about Sassafras!
Bees?
Great place for dinner or a wedding! Live music, great wine and cheese!
Wonderful place to go even on hot summer days! Only wish they would also do more non alcoholic *unique* offerings (not just water, soda, and very good iced tea) for those with kiddos or who aren't able to imbibe. Seriously, great place to go for any occasion!
Place has great atmosphere! Just what we needed for a quick getaway. Sat outside and listened to the rain. Very pleasant. Can’t wait to go back and spend time enjoying wine around their fireplace this winter. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We plan on going back soon.
Beautiful!!!
Been twice both times were subpar due to service at the bar and/or no food. I don't drink but was getting my wife a wine and trying to get myself and daughter some food. Great food selection but never any prepared platters I hear about. You can build one but I never have a knife, plate, cutting board in my pocket? THE WORST yesterday was the 2 bartenders who were over the top polite with really bad social skills. Both worked together to make me feel stupid multiple times even though I tipped 20+%. A regular made the comment that it may be because I'm not a regular. Could be and have real green money. I only gave 4 stars because of a local business matrix used to rate locals combined with a beautiful landscape. Recommend corrective training, corrective action or replacement for the 2 girls running the bar on 7/9/17.
I booked The Stables at Sassafrass Springs Vineyard for a Rehearsal Dinner. I was coming from out of state so I was somewhat anxious because my time was very limited to set up and prepare. When we arrived at the venue I was blown away at how it looked exactly how I had envisioned in my mind. There was not one thing that had to be done. The tables were all set up with gorgeous centerpieces and it was absolutely perfect! Beautiful and elegant. It has a great lay out where you can mingle indoors or out. The staff working the event were great to work with as well. I would do it over again in a heartbeat. It was worth every penny I spent. I highly recommend!
Beautiful winery, great wines, good, and music.
Their deck seating area, walking grounds , and atmosphere were great! However, I was disappointed to learn that they don't grow their own grapes to make wine. In fact, they only make two wines and those wines are from grapes that they import from Washington. Likewise, most of their wine offerings were from outside of Arkansas. I went to their establishment hoping for a local experience, but instead I encountered yet another Midwestern winery operated by Californiaphiles. After completing a tasting flight of my own choosing, and being in a distraught state, I selected a glass of a wine slushy that they had spinning behind the counter . . . it was not what I came for, but was nonetheless, very enjoyable.
Beautiful venue. Wine was mediocre, the slushy wine was the only enjoyable item we tried. Service was subpar. Would pass on this and continue on to another local establishment. Edit: Check out Tontitown instead, their grapes are locally grown and the service is better.
Such a shame.... Beautiful grounds and lovely patio - which is the two stars given. Extremely disappointed that focus was less on local items (some cheese in cooler was from NY?!?!) most wines on the menu were NOT Sassafras' own and fella behind the counter was inconvenienced by our (5 adults) arrival (he was friendly to a fault with another group). No greeting, no explanations about wine offerings until prompted (&, even then was delivered in a non-interested,dismissive manner. Flat out RUDE).Wines tried were okay, but definitely not worth the hefty price - especially with the lack of any customer interaction. Sad to say, despite being local and despite enjoying visits to various wineries across the country, we will NOT return and will NOT be recommending Sassafras to others.
Great wine and people
I love going to Sassafras. Wonderful atmosphere, great music, and fabulous wine. Sometimes we even take the kids. Beautiful place and friendly staff!
The wines are good, but what makes this place special is the unbelievable atmosphere. This is the perfect place to hang out with friends for a few hours, and offers multiple spots to get away from other groups thinking the same thing.
Great wine and great atmosphere
One of my favorite places to go in NWA! They have many different varieties of wine, and the atmosphere is great!
Beautiful venue for a wedding. Need more parking. Staff were great.
I visit Sassafras Winery frequently. It is such a beautiful venue and very relaxing. The service is so much more enjoyable than many places I have been to. I have toured many wineries in California, and the folks here at our local winery really know their wines. They are very interested in the background of the wines they sell. If you want good customer service at a place that really cares about their clientele, this is the place to visit!
Cute place. Their wine is not very good. Dry and not complex
I love Sassafras Springs Vineyard! I had my wedding there and it was perfect! This is a wonderful venue for anything from a large wedding or gathering to a low key date night, or girls night out!
Beautiful place for an outdoor wedding!!
The moment you pull up you can see how well manicured the property is. Beautiful buildings and decks to enjoy amazing local wines and wine from around the world. They have an excellent selection of cheese boards to choose from or build your own. Employees were very busy when I came in but instantly greeted me and served me when they were done with other customers. Top notch service. I will be returning with friends.
Prettiest winery with laid back atmosphere and great customer service! Will definitely be back!
Terrible location and dangerous roads to get there. No signs anywhere to indicate where it this. Food was served cold.
I called after my former venue fell through at the last minute for a company holiday party. Riley was able to coordinate my event with expertise from start to finish. The special party package they included was not only at a fantastic price, but the amenities were incredible. With an absolutely gorgeous venue that came fully decorated and available sound and audio system, not to mention the delicious wine, we had a smooth and effortless event where we could bring in our own caterer and enjoy the night with full attention. My only suggestion would be to install slightly more lighting in the designated parking area as it can get very dark in the remote location. Staff was super friendly and helpful, and the best kept secret of this place is the luxurious bathrooms! Who knew the nicest restrooms in NWA are in the barn house at Sassafras! Men's and Women's (I inspected both as the event coordinator prior to event) were outstandingly comfortable. The artwork was a perfect compliment and the vanity mirrors and special touches are what makes this venue so easy and convenient to work with. In five years I have not had a better experience here in NW Arkansas for a venue and highly recommend them to anyone in need of an event venue or wine.
