Thanks to friends who live in Arkansas, I was introduced to Mr. Robert Cowie and his fabulous winery a few years ago. Before becoming a huge fan of Bob's wines, I wasn't much of a wine drinker as I never found any that were truly worth drinking for pleasure. That all changed when I not only tasted but began purchasing wine on my trips to Arkansas. This trip my husband got to meet Bob and found him to be as nice and down to earth as I had. The best part of this was we had limited time before we had to return home and the couple of days we had free where the days the winery is closed. Being the wonderful man he is, Bob read an e-mail my friends had sent explaining we were in town and would be heading home before he was officially open for business, so he sent an answer with his cell phone number so we could indeed pick up my beloved wine. I look forward to this trip and was not disappointed as usual. Bob had created some new wines which are as always delightful. I hope if you ever find yourself in Paris (AK), you make the stop at this winery as you won't regret it. You will find the best wine in the world and one of the nicest men as well!

I have always enjoyed visits to this winery. No tours of the working areas, just a tasting room, and, if you are extremely fortunate, Mr. Cowie himself. Robert's Port is one of my favorites. The meads are very nice.

Robert's Port is the best I've ever had. Robert is very interesting. Loved talking with him. This is a must do stop. Wines were excellent. The true attraction is the owners stories of his travels & his love for bells & historical autographs. Even showed us his latest signature of one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence William Paca.

This place is a hidden gem. Do not go expecting a cookie cutter winery with phone obsessed teens taking your money. This place is run by the owner and winemaker Robert Cowie. Yes as said below he takes time to get to the door, but unless you are silly, wait until he arrives. He has some health issues that slow him down so I give him a pass, but he continues doing what he loves so I respect the hell out of him. It is also beneficial because what he loves is producing the absolute best wines made in Arkansas and in my humble opinion, anywhere else. Me. Cowie makes the best Port I have ever tasted, a port that has won multiple awards. I have not tasted one wine that was not expertly made. Honestly, this man is a craftsman in an age of pseudo craftsmen. It is worth the drive and wait. If you are lucky, you may be able to speak with Robert and see the true passion he has.

A great place has a historical story if you take time to learn about it the wine is great for me personally especially the port it's just like the real grapes right off the vine and it's 18% LOL 20 bucks. I'd say it's a good deal

Excellent wine! The winemaker is a real character, and has some great stories - don’t leave without talking to him! There’s also a beautiful family chapel next to the winery - his wife is buried there, and he’s got some beautiful old bells in the tower.

Call before you go, the owner is older and sometimes has to close early due to his health. Would've loved to visit and taste, but wasn't open

Very disappointing. I had contacted owner prior to driving 34 miles out of my way to stop here and CD was assured he would be open but upon arrival after ringing DC doorbell and waiting 15 minutes nobody ever answered. Unique grounds and great wine, especially port bcz I've been here before but disappointed unable to taste today. Also he has a policy you may only taste 4 wines even if offer to pay for more. NOT worth your time really.

Disappointed, we drove 30 miles out of our way only to find it closed, even though the sign said "open" and it was 3:30 on Saturday afternoon.
