Excellent
Food was ok, drinks were good but it took a while to get served my drink when I was the only one in the place. Menu is unique but I really wanted just a basic french toast or pancakes.
Love going there every time i am in Anchorage. Great variety and people
Fantastic food, wine, and service. We had a prix fixe special & every part of it was delicious.
5 Star Sunday brunch! From the coffee to the food and the staff, everything was fantastic.
An outstanding restaurant with a varied menu at very reasonable prices. We had reservations so we were seated immediately and service was excellent, as was the food. See attached photos. Will be back. Edit: Back to Crush in August and tried other items on the menu, and again the food was excellent, so was the friendly service.
Good food and service
Excellent food, great drink
Crush is my go-to place when I want to wind down. I usually sit at the bar. The tenders are friendly and knowledgeable and the atmosphere is relaxed with just enough energy. Wines by the glass cover all the bases and veer away from the pedestrian. I've been going for this arugula salad with poached egg but last time, they had an avocado/crab bruschetta(?) that was to die for. There were bits of candied lemon peel in it that set it off! Don't miss Crush!
Hand-crafted Cocktails. Great Wine Selections. When visiting Anchorage you don’t often think of Alaska being a foodie paradise. But this little gem is a shining jewel. The drink menu was robust with a plethora of hand crafted cocktails and a wine list is unparalleled for the restaurants in the area. I visited for a couple of drinks and dessert on my way back to my hotel. I was definitely surprised. The decor is bright and airy. The back wall has a wonderful palm frond design and art from local artists is displayed throughout. All done very tastefully. The restaurant was bustling with a happy energy that made drinks with a friend that much more enjoyable. The service was friendly and prompt. I would highly recommend this spot as a must for any wine lovers or those looking for something different than the plethora of local Anchorage dive bars.
Awesome place
Best wine tastings & daily gourmet plates in town.
Looks ok
Consistently excellent service! We love their weekly fresh sheet specials, and visit frequently. Favorites for lunch include their must-have ramen
Excellent service and food.
Beautifully crafted food and cocktails combined with a friendly and skilled staff!
Excellent food, really good service, excellent wine!
I love their food and wine. They have a great happy hour. The Mac n cheese is unreal!!
Service was quite slow. Beets were left off the salad, bread was a bit over toasted on the crab sandwich; flavors were very good.
Best meal I have had in a long time!
Totally fantastic all the way around. Unique, clever cocktails and stellar food!
Great place, amazing wine selection and the cheesecake is divine!!
Excellent drinks and great food!
Great food great atmosphere, haven’t had a bad meal yet!
Small portions!
No better spot in Anchorage for a new wine and small tasty bite
Crush is a wonderful place to get a peaceful bite to eat. While I have not had the chance to go for dinner, the lunch there is wonderful. I'd recommend the ruben sandwich.
This place advertises their great wines (which ARE great) but they should let everyone know how fabulous their food is!
Toast....
Stuffed Dates are amazing!
Great wine and small plates.
The jalapeño margarita was awesome. The filet was prefect. The Creme brûlée was great. The Service was friendly as usual. I think I’m getting a new favorite restaurant in ANC.
Love the new place! Pork belly was tasty and paired well with everything.
If you are looking for a nice place to enjoy a glass of wine or two for a decent price, then look no further. Nice selection, not a bad price, and good food.
Had the new lasagna braised duck with swiss chard, ricotta, roasted garlic with a smoked date butter! Amazing
duck was great
Very good food and service! John, the waiter was especially gracious!
Disappointing. Service was mediocre at best. No one smiled or gave any indication they wanted us here. Food was okay, the best part of the experience, but that’s not saying much. Will not go back.
Love the food and wine selection, thanks for doing such a great job Crush!
I went in with a few girlfriends. My friend and I ordered a bottle of champagne to share and our other friend was driving. We had each had a glass when we were asked to quit cackling and yelling or the bartender would cut us of. We hadn't had more than one drink at this time, were eating dinner. We were just a few mom's who are loud and expressive by nature having a good time. We hadn't ordered any more alcohol than we already had and didn't need to be threatened to be cut off. We didn't need to be treated so unkind either. I have always loved this place but I won't be going back. Customer service was awful. I also sent them a message explaining my experience and saw they read it and they never responded.
Crush has a really nice wine list, there is something for everyone. They also have beer and a full bar if wine isn't your thing. Food was absolutely amazing. We had several dishes and didn't dislike any
I give it 5 stars because of the ambience and the knowledge of the staff
Wow what a surprise! Fresh seafood in perfectly balanced flavors paired with great wine options. Great break from heavy Alaskan dishes.
Very nice ambience and delicious plates. Servers are all knowledgeable of the wines and what pairs well wth specific dishes
Everything was exceptional from the wait, to our server, to the delightful wine, superb entrees and delicious dessert. Highly recommend. Dorene and Denise Austin, Texas
Best place in town, Rob and crew are awesome! Cheryl and JoJo are even better.
The food is great, the wine selection is always amazing and rotates frequently. The meals are rather expensive. This is a great place for a third date.
Best food in downtown
My husband and I dined there last night. We are wine club members and have frequented the restaurant. We actually stopped going there for dinner after both getting sick or just not feeling well two times after eating there. We figured maybe it was best not to risk eating their food again. So, we thought dessert last night would be safe. We were seated at a table at the back where you can't help but stare into the kitchen, as there is no blinds and no door and people going in and out - which completely takes away from the romantic atmosphere. One of the chefs gets out his cell phone, is pressing things all over it, takes a picture of the food, puts his cell phone back and gets back to handling food. Never washes his hands. Does it again. This time he takes our creme brule, takes his finger and literally smoothes down our food with his dirty finger. By that point we had lost it. The worst part is the waitress seemed to care more than the owner. The owner had no apologies, took our spoons, and proceeded to lecture us they have a GREAT clean rating. Wow. We will never be going back there again. If you want crappy service and dirty food, you'll enjoy.
What an awesome selection! Or bartender/server was awesome, willing to play around a little and pour us some mystery wines so we could try to blind taste and match them off the list.
Food was good but not very much. The stuffed dates wrapped in prosciutto was amazing and everyone should order them. My complaint was on the wine flights! I was charged $14? $16? For wine that my friends and I could all taste the chemicals in. We looked it up and they were $6 bottles of wine (flights are only small servings of each). Dont go for the wine.
Great food, great wine and great service!
Stumbled in looking for anything to eat firlate evening dining. Located just of the beaten path. Turned out to be an exceptional dining experience. Wonderful food, wine and service!
First time there since new name and menu and had an unbelievable lunch dish!!
The wine flights were amazing but not a lot to choose from on the menu. We ordered bread w hummus & it was good but small portion
Nice spot for a drink. Kinda expensive
Amazingly unique menu and food with great wine and mixed beverages. I had a great experience
Compact and quaint, with unique dishes based on sustainable, locale ingredients, and fresh flavors.
Ive been into the wine store upstairs twice and bistro downstairs once. Ill start with the good. The bistro was top notch as far as atmosphere and quality go. i got the burgundy trio sampler i think it was like $15 and the pour into each glass was very generous. i will return without a doubt while I'm downtime shopping with wife. The bad side of the bistro is that the bartender/ waitress was not very familiar with the wine list. When i asked what the price was on the DRC she didn't know what DRC stood for, then when i explained she had to call upstairs and came back with a price that almost made me fall out of my chair, normally bottles of DRC are way above $1,000 per bottle she said they had several bottles ranging from $485-950, which either means that Crush bout tons of DRC at an amazing price and dosnt make any money off of them or they are selling fakes. Now the bad, the wine store upstairs has hands down the worst customer service out of any shop i have ever visited. both times i was never greeted when walking through the door nor, the first time i was not asked if i need help finding anything the second time i was after almost 15 minutes of looking around. Both times i asked the counter worker if they carried J. Lassalle Rose and was told they didn't have it but would look into ordering it for me and give me a call, i never received a call from either visit. i also asked the first time about buying an older Sercial Madeira and was never contacted about that either sadly and had to find one online to buy instead. On top of the poor customer service they are very overpriced on a lot of their wines, most of which you can get online at 1/4 of the price before shipping about 1/2 price after shipping which is crazy because their wine list downstairs is one of the most reasonably priced wine list I've ever seen.
I have always adored Crush. Now that Robert is in the kitchen, I love it even more. So happy to have access to his culinary genius once again.
My wife and I have had some amazing food in some amazing places around the world. We stumbled upon this little Bistro on a once in a lifetime trip to Alaska and we are so happy that we did. This place has the most amazing food and great service. Everything from the appies to the desert including the wine parings. The chef isn't just a cook; he must love to cook. We liked it so much that we made it back for a second evening on our last night in Anchorage. Thank you, Crush, for amazing us.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere :) I thought the menu had some fresh ideas, instead of the same thing you see everywhere. But, they also had some favorites ;)
Great service, plethora of great beverages, and delicious food. Even a nice atmosphere. No good reason not to check the place out.
Went for lunch today. I had the lunch special, which was exceptionally tasty, but quite small... more like a tapas plate. I'm good with tapas, but wasn't expecting it. Service was great, and the value of the food was great. I will add this place to my lunch rotation now.
Excellent service and well prepared meals
The food is delicious. The service was excellent. Price is fair for what you get. The wine knowledge of our server was also excellent. It was loud in the restaurant not great for an intimate meal.
Love this place. If you don't know about their wine club, you should find out. Great wines at reasonable prices.
Very well curated wine and beer selection and very knowledgeable staff. We picked up a couple of Gruners, a Zin and lots of beer. Left very happy.
Some slight delays in service, but exceptional food. May be becoming my fav restaurant in Philly.
For a small place that mainly does reservations, the service was slow and we had to seek out a server multiple times. The food was very good, but the wait almost ruined that.
Good food. A little expensive. But knowledgable and attentive staff.
Good wine
I was excited to try this place for a casual dinner with wine, but it was underwhelming. The service was good and the wine selection is decent, but the food was lackluster and killed it for me. I ordered a filet and while it was cooked correctly to my liking, the seasoning was nonexistent. If I feel like I can make it better at home, there’s no point spending double the price for bland food. The 20-50 year aged port they offer is amazing but otherwise it’s a miss for me.
Had an awesome time with my daughter on her birthday. We shared a little wine and had some good food. It was fun. Our waitress took great care of us. Couldn't recommend it more fore a fancy wine night.
Downtown Anchorage - have a drink or two...amazing selection and good food
20 year tawny port and steamed seafood was delicious.
Crush has a really off the wall wine menu that clearly had a lot of though put into not only which bottles to offer but also into the flights of wine. The Rioja flight was a fantastic trio of deep and Rich reds. I showed up a bit late to the evening there so I ordered the special with out reading about it and out came perfectly cooked pork sliced and topped with what tasted like a mild pesto inspired sauce. I highly recommend Crush, and if your at a loss for what to order, trust the wait staffs recommendation.
Great atmosphere. Great wines. Very knowledgable staff. Everything we tried on the menu was great, except the Mac & Cheese- not good. Also noted after leaving the place that our clothes smelt like they had been deep fried so don't wear your nice threads. Overall really nice date night atmosphere.
This place is a hidden gem !!!
Loved the small plates. Wife really enjoyed the wine and some good beers for me.
Eccentric but good.
Love this place! A little on the expensive side, but great for a drink after work. Sometimes I just bring a book and sit at the bar. Everyone is really friendly and will help you find a wine you love.
30 minuti di attesa, 7 persone mi sono passate davanti pur avendo lasciato il nome alla cameriera, che quando mi vede vestirmi mi chiede se sto ancora ai aspettando il tavolo per me. Pessima Figura
Friendly service in a nice atmosphere! We will be back
Nice wine selection. The food menu leaves a little to be desired.
Great wines, great music, excellent service!
Cute wine spot across from Nordy's. Good selection of wines and cheese platter was tasty.
Omg, by far the best martini in town. It's a lil unconventional as the olives are on the side aling with a lemon twist, but it's worth it. They make this bad boy with bitters and it really just sets the whole thing in a whole different caragory. Phenomenal wine selection, there's a store bext door where you can buy whatever wine or spirit is on the menu along with accessories like decanters and bottle stoppers. The food is also wildly delicious. I recommend the mac & cheese. It will change your life.
Great wine list and Beers. Complements the restaurant next door. Also named Crush
Wow! We just ordered for the first time and picked it up. I’m glad we used a gift certificate from Christmas because I would be angry to have had to PAY for this horrible food! We ordered 3 burgers, paid $48.00 plus tip and when I cut mine in half (the burgers are big) I ended up having to recook mine because it was too pink. The hamburger bun was a soggy mess which promptly fell apart into a unpalatable pile of mush! The French fries were also less than as far as taste and quality. Save your money, I can’t imagine this place will stay open for any length of time considering my families experience with this restaurant. 0 stars
Some of the best food I ever had, and the charcuterie was literally to die for. So good no one at our table even thought to stop to get a picture it was just eat eat eat
One of my favorite spots. Great wine and tapas.
Staff is great. Just wish the afternoon offering were more than just bites.
Loved the toasted goat cheese with my wine!
Taste is grear, service is friendly but slow. Hell of a peice tag!
One of my downtown faves. It's casual and has a knowledgeable bartender who is trying to stock smaller liquor makers, rather than the huge corporate ones (like Maker's Mark, which I like). Menu is small but delicious. Service is mostly good.
Went last week for a fam-date. Food was amazing. Our waitress was super knowledgeable of the menu and recommended a great wine to go with my meal. Food arrived quickly. And even though the place was packed, still able to have an intimate conversation without yelling. Food was amazing. Will be back.
They have a delicious and diverse menu. The atmosphere is cozy :)
Amazing food and wine, wonderful service. Comfortable atmosphere.
Interesting unique food. Cozy happy atmosphere. Attentive staff. Great place! Only wish there were a greater variety of vegan dishes. Would recommend!
had the Jorge’s Mascarpone Cheesecake had a nice sweet dessert wine Mas Amiel Grenache Maury
Excellent menu, wine list & good beer selection, wait staff attentive & well-informed
(Translated by Google) For lunch, we had some very tasty paninis and a well-seasoned salad. The atmosphere is a bit Italian style and the tables are distributed as cabinets. In good taste, moderate prices and pleasant atmosphere. (Original) Como almuerzo, tomamos unos paninis muy sabrosos y una ensalada bien aderezada. El ambiente es un poco estilo italiano y las mesas se distribuyen como gabinetes. De buen gusto, precios moderados y ambiente agradable.
Tried to like this place, the atmosphere is great. It's the service and food is why I won't give them a 3rd try.
only had drinks and 1 app. was delicious.
Great atmosphere, service, food. Staff is welcoming and knowledgeable. Whether lunch, weekend visit, or special meal, you can't go wrong being at Crush Bistro. See you soon!
Great food. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Need a location in Eagle River.
Cool place with eclectic wines
Great menu, wine and service! Princes are reasonable and the cheesecake to die for!
Their carrot salad is amazing and they have an excellent assortment of interesting wine flights. There is always something new and they obviously take pride in the quality of their offerings.
Drinks were good. Food was ok, but for an upscale styled restaurant the burger I got was topped with American cheese, this was very shocking. What the real downer on the burger was the "special sauce", wish I would of told them not to put thousand Island dressing on my burger, it was floating in sauce.
Terrible service. After waiting over 20 minutes after ordering with no drinks on the table (not even water), our food came before our drinks. Then we tried to ask someone to skip the drinks we had ordered and just pour us a glass of wine to have with our meal and we were rudely given a scanty pour of wine (maybe 3.5 ounces but certainly not 5) with a sigh of disgust as though we were difficult for asking. When we mentioned the issue we were told the manager would see us but he took his time in getting to us. Instead of working hard to provide good service they made us feel rude and silly for expecting it. The food was good but the wine was just average and the service was terrible. If you have 3 hours to spend on dinner and don't mind horrible service and small wine pours, this place might be OK but honestly, we will not be going back.
