Winery is a joke. Its two rooms where they basically say here is a holding tank. You wpuld also expect to get educated there about the wine and flavors but all you get is "this is white/ this is red." Um okay... I would qlso recommend as a business to at least plate the grocery store snacks instead of tossing out baby bell and a pack of crackers and then leaving guests waiting for 30 min in between wines. Wines were mediocre at best. Dont waste a trip here.

This is one of the busiest wineries we've visited...man was it buzzing! They have a cool wine train that apparently is a big hit. The tasting room was packed but was really nice. If you like sweet wines, this place is a winner for you. Afa serious wines, their chardonnay was our first wine to taste and was excellent. Our second favorite was a red blend towards the end. The cabernet was really smooth too.

Me and my girlfriend went with a fellow couple who had previously been 4 times. Beautiful place. Checked in at the counter and was greeted with a smile. Signed in and we sat where we pleased. Weather was gloomy, but we decided to sit outside on the patio to see the view. Within 5 minutes our first of 12 wines were brought along with the cheese plate. Only one lady was working and services was swift along with great information about each wine. Very generous servings of each wine as well. Lunch was a chicken salad sandwich served on croissants served with chips. It was fantastic. We felt very invited and walked the grape vines when finished. Very relaxing atmosphere. Will defiantly go back in late spring or summer.

This business is not as it seems. I recant my, Belinda T-Norris, rating from October, 2015. My daughter ,Mariah Tripp Mobley / Cyrus Mobley had their wedding reception 10/17/15 & some of our deposit was kept, so I took Ozan to Small Claims Court. It was transferred to Shelby Co. Court & the judge RULED IN OUR FAVOR as the plantiff. So Ozan has to pay us back the $50 balance Paige Blake , tastingroom mrg kept and court cost that was granted back in January, 2016. I am still waiting on my money, as the clock ticks. Check out my fb page for view of court order, @ Belinda T-Norris . They OWE Me, take b4, during & after pics if u choose to use this VENUE. Jus video the entire thing, from the time u meet her.

We used the Groupon voucher for a tour and tasting. While the wines were good (peach wine was the best), the tour was lacking. They showed you some grapes on the vine and one room of the building. The cheese plate also left more to be desired. It was four pieces of cheese and some crackers. We were also told that we would have to pick up our souvenir glass another time because they ran out of them. We don't live in the area so that was not really an option. I know that usually does not happen, but they could have offered to ship them. Other than that the atmosphere was charming on the outside and the staff were friendly.

Atmosphere: Seemed unwelcomed and rude. Wine: They had a variety of the same tasting wine. They were very strong and not tasteful (in my opinion). Decor: The decor was amazing, loved how they have arranged the place. People who need accomendation: Where the vineyard is located you will need to make sure you park at the very top of the hill. Its a very steep hill for those who have walkers, canes, crutches, or anything in that nature. I will not come again to this particular vineyard. The Morgan Creek Vineyard had a better atmosphere and wines.

Wife tasted various wines at the winery. Bought several and brought home. One had a brown color and the Cab was fizzy. Not that good on my opinion.

We went there today for our 30th anniversary which is tomorrow and had a great time! Its a cute little place and our guide was awesome. She told us about the history and how things are made - nobody was rude at all. There were about six other couples as well and even they seemed to be having a good time. We'll definitely be going back, only next time taking our out of town guests with us!

Had a great trip . My husband and my self went on a tour and wine tasting . Everyone was very friendly . They where great about answering all of our question and gave great details of each wine. I will be going back .

We really didn't like this winery. It is pretty difficult to find wineries thought the Southeast and it's really difficult to find a great one. So we are always pretty excited if we find a decent place to enjoy a good tasting. The service at Ozan was poor, with the staff seemingly having other places to be. The atmosphere is really cool. It's like a Tuscany home in the middle of Alabama. Overall, the place just seems to take itself too seriously. They charge a fair amount of money for a tasting but at least you get a glass (the one you're drinking out of). Wine is subjective but out of the three of us noone enjoyed what Ozan had to offer. We had just left another local winery in the Birmingham area and had a much better experience both with flavor and staff. I don't think we will return. All three in our party have significant experience with wineries in Virginia and have been to as many as we can find in the Southeast. Unfortunately, we're still in search for our favorite in Alabama.

My experience was okay, but not great. I had an appointment at 1:30pm for a wine tasting, cheese tray, and a 45 minute train ride. I showed up at 1:20pm and checked in at the counter where they checked me off on their list. I took a seat and waited patiently, knowing I was 10 minutes early. At 2:00pm, I had still not been served or spoken to at all. I had to go to the counter and remind them I was there. They finally told me to just pick a seat and started serving me the wine. The cheese tray was good. The train ride was about 20-25 minutes, so quite shorter than advertised.

I had my wedding here 7.13.19. It was amazing! Beautiful setting, grapes on the vines, and the staff was fantastic. Paige was incredibly easy to work with and very helpful. She communicated well and answered all of my questions. The venue is very affordable too! The wines are superb and a hit with my guests. Many who live within 30 minutes of Ozan, commented about what a hidden gem it is and how they can’t believe they’ve never been. They will be back as will I. I highly recommend Ozan. Thanks Paige and Ozan for making my wedding so easy and beautiful!

Wife and her best friend went for a tour, tasting, & cheese plate deal on Groupon. They were absolutely blown away and had an awesome time. She said they are also distilling vodka and whiskey, so I may have to accompany her next time! Great gift idea for your ladies, fellas!

I can't begin to describe how great this place is. Booked a train ride and wine tasting for 10/06/18 about a month and a half ago for myself and a few friends. The day of the trip, traffic headed out of Birmingham was INSANE, and we ended up being 15 minutes late. I was so worried we had missed our slot and would have wasted our money. Not so. My friends and I were told to sit right down, that they'd only just poured the first glass. Got my sample of the first glass just before they announced the second one. Everything was fantastic from there. The wines are amazing. Certainly, there were a few that I was not overly fond of, but I don't think there was a wine that I absolutely hated. I ended up buying 3 bottles, and another friend bought 4 bottles. Lunch was wonderful, and Paige was as pleasant and as accommodating as she could be. You're in for a treat if she's there. The train ride was relaxing, and the weather was great. On the way back, the pumpkin patch was full of children playing and having a great time. It was like a scene from a film -- happy and heart-warming. You will not be disappointed with Ozan. Promise.

I would say 4.5 Stars if that were an option. The only reason I say that, is the tour lacked personality and guide seemed to only give the tour out of obligation, not because he was excited to share the craft with us. However, the lunch was fantastic (we had chicken salad and kabobs) and the tasting was definitely a well spent afternoon adventure. Some of the wines were exceptional and different, while others I did not care for, but that's just a difference in preference. The vodka is unlike any other and the Yella whiskey was super smooth. I would recommend going in a small group, as it certainly makes the experience better and if they do get busy with drop in customers, the time passes by quicker this way. If you go on the weekend, this is very likely to happen. Good food, good wine, it just makes sense that things could get hectic. For a local, smaller winery, they are doing a wonderful job. Nice place, if you are a local, to take out of town guest. It is impressive for a small town like Calera.

Cute little family owned winery and delicious home made wine. The scenery is just breath taking. I literally felt like I was in a vineyard in Italy. The employees were not very attentive .

The scenery was the highlight of our visit. However, the parking leaves much to be desired. The customer service and attentiveness were not the best however I believe that is a direct result of staffing. There was only one employee there. It would have also been nice to have wine glasses provided with the wine tasting as do other wineries.

It seems like couples are not welcomed only large groups! Waited 20 mins and we were ignored. Rude people! I made the mistake and asked if they had anything sweet that they could recommend and the waiter sarcastically responded we are out of sugar packet! Went down to the next winery in Alabaster Vizzini and bought 6 bottles of wine a good experience!

We will spend our winery time in the future at Cat N Bird winery in Chelsea, Al. Ozan is a joke, wine snobs. Morgan Creek wines in Harpersville, AL is much better with friendly staff that welcomes your presence.

Just tried a bottle of the peach. All I can say is Alabama wines are terrible. My wife said it tasted like kerosene! Another awfull wine I had was from somewhere around Talladega. It is too bad since I live in Bama. My favorite is muscadine made by Duplin Vineyards of North Carolina.
