Dr. Kornet and the staff at Mid Island have always been wonderful to me and my dog since the very first vet visit when he was 7 weeks old. It is truly evident how much they care and go the extra mile for their patients. My dog is now two years old and recently presented with the possibility of fractured upper fourth premolars. Dr. Kornet examined the teeth very carefully and had X-rays done to confirm their vitality. He noted how traumatic of a procedure it would be to have them removed, especially for a young dog, and further consulted with not one but multiple dental specialists before confirming the teeth were healthy and didn't need to be extracted. He kept me updated throughout the entire process and was very thorough in answering all of my questions. The staff was so kind and patient while caring for anxious pup as well; I always know he is in good hands with them. I cannot thank everyone enough for the amazing quality of care and service they always provide.

I have nothing but good things to say about Mid island Animal hospital but specifically Dr. Kornet! I have been talking my dog there for the last 6 years. I recently had the most wonderful experience. On Saturday I called the after hour emergency number and instantly was able to speak to Dr. Kornet. I called him numerous times throughout the night. He was just as concerned as I was for my dog. He offered to come in on a SUNDAY to operate on my dog! He performed an emergent surgery and kept me up to do date with her progress. When I went to visit my dog on Monday, Dr. Kornet came in to further explain everything to me in great detail. We spoke on the phone later that day with a very pleasant update. On Tuesday he called me, thrilled to inform me that my dog was ready to be discharged. When I I wen to pick her up he, again in much detail, explained her home care and etc. I thank Dr. Kornet and his staff for going in on a Sunday to operate and taking such good care of my dog during her stay. Thank you so much Mid island and Dr. Kornet!!

Dr. Kornet has been seeing my pets for over 20 years, and there is no other vet I would take mine too. There is always a doctor on call and Dr. Kornet and Kaplan have come in when the office is closed to see my animals on multiple occasions and when one of my fur babies is sick I always get an appointment the same day. All the other doctors are wonderful and Dr. Crosio saved my kittens life while Dr. Kornet was away. The staff is very friendly and helpful on the phone. MIAH is the best vet around! Josie, Bubbles, and Goliath say thank you for the excellent care!

Dr. Kornet and the rest of the staff are nothing short of AMAZING. He calls and checks on your pet even for a simple checkup. I’ve been to other animal hospitals/clinics and nothing compares. He truly cares about the animals as if they were his own fur babies. Blessed to have come across such a fantastic place!

The worst vet I’ve ever been to. They forgot about us the first time we came (we had an appointment and sat right next to the desk and not to mention our dog was being loud from being forced to sit still for so long). We waited 1.5 hours before we said something and they lost the paperwork we had already filled out, after such a short period! I will say the owner we saw was amazing but unfortunately you cannot and will not see the same vet every time because they do not allow appointments with specific vets (or so we were told). We had to go back for a second round of yearly shots and again we had to wait over an hour. This time was by the worst, the vet claimed our 4 year dog had never received any vaccines, while holding her cart, which had the records from her past two vets (which I brought with me on our first visit), showing her entire medical history and insisted that she needed a full exam, even though we had been there only a week prior for her yearly check up! We told her she was wrong but she insisted and only when I demanded she look at the chart again did she back down, claiming that she just assumed she hadn’t been to a vet before because she hadn’t been to this specific vet (she’s 4 years old!). Oh and she kept calling my dog a male when clearly she is not, how do you mess that up when looking at her cart let alone my dog!? I called last week to pick up her flea and tick meds and the receptionist told me they would call me back when it was ready. After 2 weeks they still hadn’t called so I called and they informed me while laughing that the meds were ready and that if they didn’t call to just call them. This is not the place to take your loved animal for any reason. I am sorry I came here even once.
