Terrible vet incompetent and unprofessional! I took my dog to get neutered here My husband dropped him off in the morning and told them he had a mcro chip. They texted me after the surgery and said everything went well. However when I picked him you they said there was a small mistake they put in a micro chip I was Mad! We told them not to! He already had one! they said there was a misunderstanding and instead of scanning for his microchip they put one in! they tired to dig it out causing a big wound that required 2 staples. they didn't bother to call and tell me this and acted like it was no big deal. now if my dog is lost and gets scanned he has 2 microchips .this was malpractice and unacceptable! plus they act like its no big deal! I will find a new vet!

I will never go anywhere else for healthcare for any of my animals. Dr. Murray is absolutely amazing and went well out of her way to find out what was wrong with one of our guinea pigs. Every member of the staff cares so much, and it is a very safe and caring environment.

These folks take such good care of our cats. We have been coming to this practice through several transitions, and even came here when it was owned by a single veterinarian and located elsewhere in town. Their present location is large and convenient, and the remodel is top notch. There are several veterinarians practicing, and we can usually get in the same day we call. The techs are all professional, and our cats don't hate coming here.

Upstanding and Compassionate ladies at the clinic, I hope the local folks that have relied on Gem City services can see through the smoke screen of BS caused by one woman who doesn’t want to pay a bill for services rendered. I’m a Laramie Resident who is happy to use their services. I would be surprised to find that anyone who has posted reviews here have ever been in or had anything to do with Gem City Vet. Sounds like internet followers have attempted to blemish the image of this business in order to get something for nothing. You don’t just drop cats off and pick them up later. There is paperwork that I’m sure someone had to sign and vets don’t vaccinate animals unless it’s necessary. Take a step back and think about it folks get both sides of the story. An amazing group of individuals who provide professional, expert, and compassionate care. Our older dog, Remski, has received excellent care previously, but at 18 years of age he was starting to feel miserable and we faced that most difficult decision of end of life. On that day, we were treated with kindness, compassion, dignity, and respect. Our old guy passed peacefully in our arms. The cremation details were handled for us and the practice even sent us a condolence rose. We greatly appreciate the care given to Remski and to us. Way beyond the expected.

Our experience with Gem City was phenomenal. The staff was caring and compassionate, and money was not an issue. My college age daughter had a horse that had colic. Dr. Gill was called out and after many attempts were made, it was determined that he would have to be transported for surgery or put down. Not something a parent wants their child to go thru when you are 800 miles away. Dr. Gill was so professional, caring and supportive of my daughter and her horse. It was obvious to Dr. Gill that this horse was a best friend, and she treated them as such. Needless to say, upon arriving in Laramie, payment to the Gem City was not the first thing on my mind. It wasn't until we went to pick-up his ashes a week or so later that we settled our account. No one ever contacted us concerning payment. We had no animal in their care. We felt they truly cared about my daughters loss. Gem City was not our original Vet, however after this experience, Dr. Gill and Gem City are the only Vet services we will use.

The staff are friendly and sincerely care for your pets, and will prescribe the medication that they believe will be the most beneficial for your pet which aren't always the higher priced, name brand meds.

Gem City staff go way beyond their line of duty. They take the time to listen and care for animals for a reasonable price. We had a sick dog and getting ready to leave for vacation. They took the dog in and did surgery along with care for him the next week. They also called me each day to let me know what is going on. They have worked on my horses also over the last couple of years. They are honest and take pride in their work.

I am not a five star kind of person, but GCVS is amazing and has earned each one. I initially choose GCVS because the prices were fair and they didnt seem too dodgy. How lucky I and Moose were. I took excellent care of Moose and they were patient and thorough in helping me understand Moose's health. There is no need to look beyond Crystal and her team... unless you have moved away like us and are experiencing withdrawal.

My dog spent his first 8 years seeing our family vet back in TN. After moving here I was referred to Gem City and have been very impressed with them on both of the visits I have needed to schedule for my dog. The first visit was a routine checkup where he got some vaccines he had been needing. The second was a teeth-cleaning where they put him to sleep for a bit. Both times, it was very clear that they really care about their patients. Their communication was really strong so I never felt like I was in the dark with regards to what to expect, what I was going to be paying, the treatment plan, etc. I would rank them higher than the family vet my dog grew up seeing and have a really high comfort level with them after utilizing them twice over the past 6 months.

Not really impressed with how they took care of my dogs while boarding them. The front desk woman couldn't even remember who our dogs were. They left the harness on my dog and allowed her to destroy it. We also had our other dog spayed while boarding. The incision looks very fresh and has bled a couple of times after one full week of healing in their kennel. Tells me they don't watch your dog very well. Unfortunately, we will never be going back and are very sad Snowy Range sold their company!

One might worry about quality due to such affordable prices but I am here to tell you they have the BEST Vets and Vet Assistants I have come across! We take our cats here and our hedgehogs, we see two different vets due to this and we adore them! If you are in Laramie or the surrounding, your pet will thank you for taking them to Gem City

I had a decent experience here with one of my dogs. My other dog was never seen here. But when she got sick and needed to get put down, I obviously called here since my other dog gets seen here. Well to my surprise I was told they were not accepting new patients. How outrageous! They would not put my dog, who could no longer walk or move without pain, down. She wouldn't become a new patient. In a time when I was losing not only my pet but a part of my family, they "were not accepting new patients." I wasn't asking for a second opinion or an operation. My dog had cancer and was finishing her fight. I pulled my other dogs records and he has never been seen there since. I would never recommend this clinic, even if I did, they aren't accepting new patients.

I just hung up with Dr. Gill at Gem City Veterinary Services in Laramie, WY and feel that a complaint needs to be filed at this time. My cat had a procedure done on November 19, 2018. On November 20, 2018, we picked our cat up and no pre or post-operation discussions were had. My husband did not once get to talk to anyone but had all the paperwork. They gave us the cat, 15-20 minutes after waiting, with paperwork and failed to provide a product that we purchased on the form. We had to go back and pick up the product after hours, that was left outside. We monitored our cat as well as we could based off of the paperwork. Our cat managed to reach over the cone and chew the glue on his incisions, resulting in an infection. When we took the cat in for emergency surgery, due to the infection, the doctor lectured us firmly that we need to let our cat outdoors, but we have streets and he is an indoor cat. The reality was, this was malpractice. When a surgery is performed, discussing the post operation risks with the owner should be a necessary, not an afterthought. When I had a conversation with a doctor, she stated that there were not rooms available. That is not an excuse.

Moved out here to Laramie a few months ago. Recently took our cat in to Gem City for her yearly check up because the reviews here were so good. The reviews definitely didn’t lead us astray! All the employees we interacted with (the people at the desk, the vet we saw, and the vet technician) were great and super friendly. The vet took care in answering our questions we had about our cat (she’s our first pet and we’ve only had her for a little over a year). The vet was super friendly. The people at the front desk helped us make sure all of our cat’s vaccinations were up to date. We moved from MN to WY and got our cat from the humane society in MN so our vet history for the cat is limited.

I recently took my cat here for essentially an emergency visit, as he was having a hard time using the litter box. They got him in right away. Gem City Vet, specifically Dr. Walker, is absolutely amazing and saved my cat. I would highly recommend this place! All of the staff there genuinely care and are outstanding. If I could give one star on the services received here I would!! While the vet seemed competent enough, we were not given any definite answer on what the issue with our dog was! We were given a round of antibiotics and then told to come back again! So for a total of 10 minutes of her time and an antibiotic it cost $170.00. While in the realm of vets and cost it is not outrageous it was still pricey. We then had a payment arrangement made!!! THEY WITHDREW THE MONEY FROM THE ACCOUNT 3 DAYS EARLY!!!!!!! THE FRONT DESK ASSISTANT COULD NOT FIND MY ACCOUNT AND SHE HAD NO IDEA AS TO WHAT HAD HAPPENED!!!!!!!! SO BEYOND INCOMPETENT IT IS NOT EVEN FUNNY!!! AND THEN I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS THE AGREED UPON DATE!!!!!!!!!! I CANNOT THINK OF A TIME WHEN I HAVE BEEN TREATED WORSE IN A VET OFFICE!!!!! AND TO THINK THESE ARE THE PEOPLE THAT SNOWY RANGE VET CLINIC SOLD THEIR CLIENT LIST TO!! WILL NOT EVER USE THIS EXCUSE OF A VET AGAIN!!!!

Excellent care!! Dr. Kelcy Walker is the best veterinarian I have ever had the privilege to meet and have take care of our family's pets!! She took great care of our baby Max. We lost Max a little over a week ago and everyone at Gem City was so kind with him in his last hours with us. They also were so kind to my family as we said our goodbyes. My cat Ollie and I have been here quite a lot (I think the Gem City team would agree). From dental, diet and stomach problems, shaving his fur and a simple check up and shot appointment. Each time they get Ollie in quickly and they are genuinely nice to me even though I can come off as a crazy cat mom sometimes. I love this place and every individual I have met. My wife and I have a young blue heeler with some fear aggression issues specifically related to her first veterinary visit. When we brought her to gem city, they were incredibly patient. They listened, offered suggestions rather than demands, worked with us, and gave her enough peanut butter to bribe a whole pack of dogs. They also never once tried to push a payment on us, it was always "would you like an estimate?" which is very appreciated. I want to use gem city as my physician, let alone bringing all my pets there.
