We took our 16 yr old dog in for an after hours emergency. Unfortunately the out come was not good but the Dr and the staff were kind, considerate and understanding. Even though it was after hours on a Saturday... we were told to take as long as we needed. We have been seeing another vet but will take our other animals here from now on!

Awesome! Seriously fantastic! My family has taken our cat and Boston Terrier here and now that I am a pet owner myself I take my chihuahua here as well. They have always provided excellent and empathetic care (including answering many anxiety driven questions I had as a first time dog owner) and are easy to get quick appointments. My chihuahua just had a teeth cleaning and a few extractions here and although I was nervous I didn't need to be! They did an excellent job, he was in perfect health afterwards and they gave great home care instructions. Also, they are probably the most affordable vet in town! Two extractions, a cleaning, anesthesia, pain pills and antibiotics and the optional extra monitoring I opted for and it was less than $300. I would highly recommend them!

This is by far the best vet I have ever been to. Dr. Kristie is amazing! While attending UW I had my childhood dog in Laramie and she started having seizures, and they diagnosed her with a brain tumor. The care she received was phenomenal. Because of her old age (12), we decided not to treat the cancer but to help her seizures and make her comfortable for her last bit of life. They were very honest about chemo and other treatments only making her sick, and not helping increase her life span at that age. I got all of her prescriptions through them and they were much cheaper than I could have gotten them elsewhere, and the vets were constantly checking on her doses to make sure everything was working. They were able to answer every question I had, provide great advice, and give the best care possible. Not to mention everyone there was incredibly sympathetic and understood how hard it was to see a dog I had for 12 years go. After I graduated, I moved back to my hometown and took my dog to the vet she had been going to since she was a puppy there. They made me miss Animal Health Center... A LOT. They were not near as knowledgeable about the cancer and medicines, and seemed to give little regard for the dog's well-being. So, I ended up calling AHC with all of my questions anyway, and they were great about helping from a distance. In my dogs last days, Dr. Kristie spent a long on the phone with my mom helping us all decide when it was time to put our beloved dog down. I can't imagine another vet that would spend time on the phone, not getting paid for it, to help an owner through a hard time. These are amazing people, I definitely recommend them for any pet and owner!

I was very concerned with the health of my little dog, Nikki. Her eyes have become cloudy. We are seniors on a fixed income and could not afford to go to Ft. Collins to a dog opthamologist, as a different vet said we needed to do. Her eyes were clearing up, but then the cloudiness came back in the spring. We went to Animal Health Center, both us and our dog were treated with total respect and caring, and Dr Ashlee immediately diagnosed Nikki's condition as a common one among some breeds. Nikki has Pannus. Dr gave us medicated eye drops and eye lube, and Nikki is doing much better! Animal Health was also affordable and did not insist on expensive pain meds like the previous clinic did - when we could tell our dog was in no pain, eating well, drinking plenty, wanting to play, and running like the wind. They asked me in an accusing tone HOW her eyes got that way! It is so nice to have Animal Health where both us and our fur baby are treated with respect, caring, and professionalism.

After adopting a kitten from the Animal Shelter, the kitten was neutered at AHC as part of the adoption program. The service at AHC was friendly, respectful and very satisfactory. They kept the kitten overnight to insure its health after an additional procedure. The facility is very inviting, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and I was very impressed with the care and concern they gave both my new kitten and myself. I was very pleased as well with the pricing of the procedure and subsequent services. I highly recommend this facility and will be transferring my other pets' service and records in the near future.

Two weeks later after taking him to Alpine, where my dog goes for care, they discover an issue with his declaw that was causing him pain. Won't be returning to this veterinary center to be given bad information.

Our 13 year old pit bull had cancer and had been fighting it for a year. When she got to the point where she was just too sick we stayed up with her all night and had to make the decision to let her go. I called the Animal Health Center the next morning and asked for an afternoon appointment as we wanted to spend the day with her. They told me to come in at 4pm but if we needed to bring her in sooner they would make time for us. When we got there they were expecting us and came around the counter to show us to a private room so we didn't have to wait in line or with the other patients. The whole procedure went very smooth and everyone involved was just so kind and respectful of the situation. This is the first time we had ever been to the Animal Health Center but we definitely made the right choice.

Our new shelter kitty needed some minor surgery done; Dr. Shawn was able to accommodate us a few days prior to our scheduled surgery day as per our request. He used state-of-the-art technology to accomplish what needed to be done. As a result our cat experienced a very quick recovery with minimal pain. Very happy with Animal Health Center. This veterinary service also has great employees who are extremely caring and compassionate along with Dr. Shawn Sanders. Highly recommend these folks for taking exceptional care of your pets.

We brought in our dog, Kai, to this vet for an emergency service. We had taken her fishing and when we got home around 10 pm she started convulsing, was non-responsive to commands, couldn't move any muscles, and eventually lost control of her bowels. We called this vet immediately and asked for some advice and when she wasn't getting any better we took her in. I am grateful that this vet has the option for a 24 hour emergency service, but the price is outrageous. After Kai was admitted and we were able to go see her, we were bombarded with very high down payment requests, I'm talking $400. Needless to say, I didn't feel any sympathy coming from this staff. Kai was left alone overnight after she was given some IV fluids, oxygen and anti-seizer medication. She passed away that night so we went back to get her body only to discover that the downpayment wasn't enough to cover the costs, so we had to pay more to get her body. The loss of our dog cost a whopping $583. As we were checking out, we were told that she was lucid and able to pick up her head before the vet left. While I appreciate that details, I didn't need to hear this. That didn't make the process of losing our sweet, loving, year old Kai any easier to take. The ladies who helped us that night an the next day at the front desk seemed kind, but learning that Kai died alone and probably in pain was not work the money we spent.

I have been taking my animals to AHC for many years. I trust the vets especially Kristie Steuer and my animals respond well her and the staff. This is the only vets office in town I recommend to family and friends. I recently had a dental cleaning for my dog. This was a good experience and my dog seemed comfortable when I picked her up. I also like that Kristie will talk through options with me and give recommendations for the best option. I feel like my animals the care they need to remain happy and healthy.

I love the care and compassion received from Animal health center, LLC. They were wonderful in the middle of the night when my beloved basset hound, Munchkin, became violently ill with no warning. Unfortunately, she was beyond saving, but they were able to ease her passing and provide answers to my questions about what had happened. I thought she had been poisoned, but they were able to prove to me exactly what had happened to her and why it was so sudden. I opted for a private cremation and will continue to use their services for future pets.

Have had a number of bad experiences bringing my dog here and have finally wised up and begun going to a different vet in Laramie. The veterinarians who practice at this business seem to come and go quickly. Except for Shawn, the other Vets I've met here don't seem to have a great deal of experience or expertise. Some of the vet techs are downright incompetent - one of them caused my dog to yelp in pain just taking his temperature. I believe this place is now corporately owned and it shows. The attitude of most people working here is unfriendly, unhelpful and uncaring.

I've been taking my animals to AHC for many years, and I have always received professional and first-class treatment. The vet who replaced Doug Honken, my trusted vet for well over a decade, seems like an intelligent and caring young man. When my beloved dog Garnet suffered an unusual health attack, I brought her close-to-unconscious into the vet and they responded with speed and caring. There was nothing they could do, but they tried their best to help her in this emergency situation. This happened back in 2012; since then they have been nothing less than responsive and caring when treating my animals.

We took our dogs here for boarding when we first moved to Laramie because they were the first ones with availability on short notice. I should have realized that was a red flag. The dogs always came home exhausted and smelling so bad that I had to give them another bath (they get one before they go home, supposedly) as soon as we got home. Sometime between the second and third time they boarded, I had to take my boy in to get a wound cleaned and while we waited for the vet to come in the room, he shook compulsively. He was completely fearful and didn’t calm down the whole time the vet was in there, which is so out of character for him. We had to board them once more with them on short notice, and when we picked them up, the lady that brought them out laughed when my boy dog had poop in his cone (because of the wound we had to get cleaned), and it got on my husbands jeans. They smelled awful like poop and pee, so who knows when the last time they had been walked. Not to mention, they ignored their own vets instructions to not wash my dog while his open wound healed and it had soap in it and was now draining all down his leg and making him itch. After that, I asked if I could see where they kept the dogs to make sure my dogs were okay when they boarded and they refused saying they didn’t allow people back there. I had made up my mind long before that I would never give them my business again, but that was the final straw. It’s disgusting that they are allowed to care for dogs in these conditions. I’ve never had worse care for my dogs and I still feel immense guilt for taking them back after the first time. We switched as quickly as we could to Alpine. They let us see wherever the dogs were kept without issue and answered all questions we could think of. Please reconsider boarding your dogs here.

We brought our long haired chihuahua mix on a recommendation from my sister-in-law. Had his teeth cleaned and some routine vaccinations & heartworm check-up. Great experience. Staff was kind and efficient. Greeted most the other clients by name and obviously knew their dogs. The price was very fair - actually half the price of two of the other vets I checked on. Reilly lost a tooth but now his breath is fresh and his teeth are white and he recovered quickly.

We had our German Shepard groomed today and it was terrible. They brought him out covered, COVERED in loose hair. It was flying off him everywhere. My husband asked if he had been brushed. The lady at the counter was very rude and completely dismissive. We will never return!

My six month old BC had some issues going on. It's a Sat and I took him to another facility where I was told abruptly I'd have to come back three hours later, or pay a emergency call. I had seen animal health driving by, so I called them. They immediately got my dog in (without paying an emergency fee) and I was not only impressed with the vet, but all the staff! I'll be switching to them basically because I like there open on Sat and offer emergency services.

Its current owner, Dr. Shawn Sanders, is a skilled and compassionate veterinarian who has treated our horses, dogs, and cats in sickness and in health (offered advice on supplements and preventive and supportive care). He has tended to the horses in emergencies, on holidays, and during late night and early-morning hours as well as in bad weather that made his travel to our ranch hazardous and difficult. Additionally, this reviewer cannot lavish enough praise on Dr.Kristie Dixon—a remarkable professional with patience, superior diagnostic skills and up-to-date treatment techniques. The Animal Health Center is fully equipped to perform diagnostics as well as surgical and dental care and does so with expertise and dispatch. A professional and courteous staff rounds out the Center. It is a very good facility throughout. Chappie, see photo, was very pleased with his visit on December 7, 2018.

They also took my elderly dog in as a drop-off (with no extra charge for essentially boarding her all day) when I called at the last minute with an urgent matter. Highly recommend!

Animal Health Center is wonderful- I would recommend them to anyone! I was recommended to them from a dog owner and was incredibly impressed with the level of friendliness from staff and knowledge from the vet. They were able to accurately diagnose my hedgehog and showed immense levels of compassion when the time came to put her down. They are available to call on weekends, even for questions regarding my pet. Their prices were affordable. I will definitely be using Animal Health Center for any future pet care!

I absolutely would not recommend their boarding service. My dog came out with hot spots between all of his toes and a rash on his mouth. I don't believe they give the dogs hardly any attention while they're boarded except to wash them the day you get back.

Normally it is a wonderful experience. We love the clinic and care. However, this last visit - since you have asked - was essentially worthless. It cost $100 for a 2 minute vet check for an issue we had identified and that proved not to be resolved. Two very young “techs” did what I had already done at home and said, “ looks like all we can do.” No further meds were needed. Our precious elderly dog is still with the hair deep in ear issue...and we are doing our best with continued flushing at home.

We started going to Animal Heslth Center when we first moved to Laramie 14 years sgo. And we still do even after moving south to Fort Collins. The vets and staff are great. They've seen us through both the highs and lows with all of our horses, dogs, and cats.

Moving to Laramie has been an extremely difficult transition. That is in part due to being a very close friend of our previous Vet. Finding a new Vet in Laramie who provides a similar level of care was a tall order. Thankfully, however, we found Dr. Sanders. He, and his staff, are all attentive, professional, and kind. Our puppy dog is far more spoiled than trained, but Dr. Sanders was able to examine her without incident. We are extremely thankful to have the benefit of Dr. Sanders' skills, expertise, and kindness nearby. He's an excellent doctor.

They were able to see my Cavalier on an emergency basis. We are not from Laramie but we’re camping in the mountains above Laramie. Bentley our dog was having trouble breathing. By the time we arrived at their office they had already contacted our regular vet and gotten his records and were ready to treat Bentley when we arrived. He was found to be in congestive heart failure and very sick. He was treated and we were able to take him back home. Everyone was awesome! We can’t thank them enough for the great care!! Thanks

Dr. Sanders is absolutely wonderful! I haven’t lived in Laramie for too long and wasn’t sure what the best place in town was to take my new little fur babies. I read reviews here on google and decided to give AHC a try. After my experience I would definitely recommended AHC to anyone looking for a good vet for their fur babies. They are great in price and took wonderful care of my new kitties. Dr. Sanders was super helpful and really caring.

I called one morning about a week ago when my pup was sick. The staff was amazing at getting us in that day, within an hour. They were very caring and concerned for my pup, doing everything gently and explaining everything they were doing, as well as what it cost. My deaf pup was so calm and friendly towards the vet that she shook hands and cuddled with him, which she has never done with any other vet we have ever seen. I would definitely recommend them again, and it will be the place I will continue to take my pets!

The Animal Health Center has supported the Laramie Animal Welfare Society for over 12 years by working with us and our Trap, Neuter, Return project, taking in adults to process and return and kittens to vaccinate so we can place them in foster homes. The staff are very accommodating, always professional and competent, but friendly as well. The charges are reasonable for this area, and the animals are treated with care and affection.

They're really nice here. Been going for about two years and they haven't disappointed. My cat had an ear infection and they helped us with that, they also helped with vaccinations and a tooth extraction done here.
