You may have noticed that it has an average rating is basically the top, and it's based on a very large number of opinions, so we may think that the rating is quite faithful. If there are many people who bothered to give their feddback when they've done well with the business, it works.

As you know, we do not usually bother to give feddbacks when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...

This Veterinarian corresponds to the category of Veterinarian.

We have been taking our pets to Altitude for 14 years. They are always really nice and passionate about their job.

I had an urgent situation with my pit bull Rosie and the entire staff was very patient with all of my questions and concerns. They took the time to discuss my options in great detail to help make the best decision for our baby girl. Thanks to all at Altitude that participated in her care and that continue to do so for her future well being.

FANTASTIC!! Did I say FANTASTIC??!! Our pet woke up one morning and was foaming at the mouth , turning in circles and obviously in alot of pain. We called and they got us right in. Dr. Sean (sorry I don't know his correct spelling) diagnosis was that her stomach had turned inside out and had to have surgery immediately. Usually dogs don't live through this but I am here to tell you she is PERFECT!! Three weeks later have we have a LIVE ONE!! HALLELUJAH!! No dead dog here!! lol The care was EXCELLENT . We were so impressed by Dr Sean ..he was personable and.took the time to explain every detail. The incision was clean and looks great. We don't hesitate to recommend Dr. Sean and his staff to anyone. For us it will be a happy holiday season !

My dogs are always excited to go to Altitude Veterinary. My dogs like it there and they don't try to leave. I trust them that my dogs i s getting excellent care. The old vet I went to they used a mussel on my dog, they don't here. They love animals here and they are warm, loving and caring. It is just an excellent place.

Saturday took my dog Copper in for slight bloating because he had gotten ahold of a rib bone and just wasn't himself. Dr. Bell checked him out and with some meds and a few shots, he is back to normal! Dr. Bell is an amazing and compassionate vet! Dr. Bell herself called me both yesterday and today to check in and see how Copper was doing. Love her to bits! All the vet techs and ladys at the front desk are just as amazing and compassionate! Thank you everyone for being so awesome!

Davin Ostheimer

Recommended from coworkers and glad we went! Our puppy needed her first checkup, and Altitude was very professional and friendly! Treated our puppy like their own and gave her everything that she needed! :) Their prices were fair and they have great programs to help with finances! Would definitely recommend!

Kodi Schmidt

I called in late one night and the vet Angela came right in to help my bloated dog. There was a fear of how we would pay for the visit and she knew that but she continued to help my dog the best she could and by the end of the night I s able to take him home and she was very understanding of my situation. They were all very nice and loving people I am thankful for the poeple that work there.

We love Altitude! They are so kind and helpful. They are very kind to our animals and go above and beyond to help. I also love that they have someone on call all the time because then I can talk to someone when it's not business hours because nothing happens on schedule.

Melanie Gootee

My family has been with them since we moved here in 1987. There is no other clinic I would trust with my pets. They go above and beyond what you would think a normal veterinary clinic would do. Last winter, our dogs were scheduled for teeth cleanings. We had a snow storm the day before, and we were not able to get our car out of the drive way. The car was completely stuck, almost in the middle of the road. My dad is in his late 70's, and I was still recovering from being in the hospital. My dad called the clinic to tell them we would not be able to make it. They actually sent out a couple of vet techs to come get our dogs, and they helped dig out the car! If I wasn't already a life long client of this clinic, this would have been the deciding factor.

Elizabeth Fausset

AVH gives my dog excellent standard care. And when my fur baby was run over by a truck, I know they are the reason he's with me today! Dr. Schwann was great, taking the time to explain what was happening and what was being done to care for my dog's injuries. Every time I went in to visit, the staff knew why I was there and who's dog mom I was. Thank you, Altitude!

Doctor Bell and everyone at Altitude took such amazing care of my old girl while cleaning her horrific rotting teeth. Layla is like a puppy again with her sparking smile! Thank you for giving her the love she deserves! You guys are OVER THE TOP FANTASTIC!

The staff at Altitude are the such kind people the compassion they show for my fury friend and I is amazing. I cant thank them enough for the amount of time and effort they have put into my pets.

doris knox

The people at Altitude are always friendly while they take your money. Very expensive but good care.

Ken Kreckel

Always a pleasure to meet with staff members. They know and care for our dog in a personable and competent manner.

Coby Pedry

Dr. Bell is outstanding! She actually gave us the time of day in the exam room. Dr. Bell is one of the most compassionate doctors I have ever met. Not only did she thoroughly cover any information regarding our dog, but she called us later in the evening to give us the even more information she researched. What Dr. happily calls their patients after work hours, after researching and then asks you if there is anything else she can answer. We are highly impressed and thankful to have such an amazing doctor for our 4 legged child. We feel she went the extra mile for us, it is inspiring to see someone so dedicated.

Whitney Lamb

My family has been taking our animals to Altitude, formerly Popish, for over 30 years. We trust them and are always treated with genuine concern and care.

I have been taking my pets to Altitude Veterinary for about 15 years now. I really like the staff because you can tell they really like working with with animals. They treat us and our animals extremely well we are very happy there.

Titus Brewer

Sat there for two hours with my poor sick kitten, just for them to tell me my bill would be $350, don't accept payments, $50 for 5 mins with the actual 'doctor'. Didn't help at all. What a waste of my whole morning.

Eric Magnuson

The best and most caring clinic in town Dont hesitate to take any of your fur babies here. Simply Amazing.

Bob Herrmann

Altitude has always been the medical provider for my Burnese Mountain Dog, but, my wife uses another provider. When one of her animals became gravely ill on a Saturday, we called her provider, but were greeted by the answering service. After an hour with no returned call, I picked up the phone and called Altitude Veterinary Hospital, they had us bring the dog in immediately, the Veterinarian did a complete review of the dogs vital signs and medical history. Unfortunately, the dog was very old and could not be saved. This was a dog that had never been to Altitude Veterinary Hospital and they responded to her medical needs without question. This is what separates good animal health care providers from the others!

Mary Orr

Altitude has always been wonderful with my pets. Even in an emergency situation on a weekend my cat was seen immediately. My elderly dog was recently diagnosed with cancer and they have been very compassionate and understanding. They're the best!

Crimson Forrester

Way over priced Keith James way better 60 for home visits and cares more about animals then money

Val Lathrop

They have been absolutely wonderful to my family and my brood of Guinea pigs. They've fit us in for emergencies, and even come in after hours. I love their grieving family policy (they light a candle in the lobby as a way to let people know when someone is saying goodbye to their pet so that the other pet parents know to keep the volume down) and have sent us letters of condolence when we've lost pets. They also charge reasonable rates for grooming and visits. I honestly can't say good enough things about them.

J McSexy

Boarding issues, my dog weighs 95 lbs and they were feeding him 1CUP of food a day, then proceeded to kick him out because I was "making their vet techs uncomfortable" this was several years ago but decided it deserved to be noted. I was boarding him while staying w friends in Casper and couldn't have him there with me. I checked on him daily and they didnt like that AT ALL.

Fran Rairdon

First visit in Wyoming. Dr. Bell and Andrea were very good with our pooch. Thorough exam and health report.

Christine Copeland

Fantastic!

I love Altitude they took the time to make my very anxious German Shepherd feel more at ease they actually sat on the floor with her the entire visit. Dr. Angela was wonderful. My Myka has had a lot of issues over this last year that I have been worried about and they got her into the clinic within a few hours of my call every time.

jennifer herzberg

Very nice people. Helpful and kind.

Danell Powell

Dr. Bell very compassionate and smart and professional. Glad they care about my pet. Highly recommend.

Judy Mullen

I have had the best experience with Altitude since I started taking my pets to them. They keep me informed on what my pets needs are and what direction we need to take with their health as one of my pets is over weight and it was causing her to have some major issue with her short little legs which would eventually cause a lot of money to have surgery down the road so she is on a diet. My other little puppy almost died but was saved by the doctors as she was hospitalized and they got her numbers back up with the IVS', she had swallowed a plastic baby binkey and the rubber end of it too. She passed it the day I was given instructions on how to care for Chica when I got her home so that the hospital bill would not be so much for me to pay. I have the highest regards for Altitude Veterinary Hospital, as they are my pets second home when they need care. The folks are wonderful to my babies and treat them like I want them to be treated and they treat me good too. Thank you all and Merry Christmas from Buttercup and Chica and Judy Mullen

The vets at Altitude are super fantastic! We have been able to get in right away for an emergency. The services are good, just awesome!

Trevor Young

We called to ask if my pets could stay an extra day boarding because we couldn't get home due to weather and they were very accommodating! We are very happy with the service we receive here.

Robin Ogg

Love this place and they love my dog.

There is nothing I can write to get our three year old Great Dane back. She died at the hands of an incompetent vet Altitude decided was good enough to work for them. Dr. Bell herself - over our already to late dying dog- told us she might have been saved if they had done surgery at 7 am when I brought her in vs make her wait all day - dying more each hour though we'd said spare no expense...until some outside help she FINALLY asked for ( a radiologist) said GET THE DOG to surgery. I got her to the vet, as a parent I did my part.. she fought all day ....as a dog she did her part....and Dr Bell and everyone at Altitude dropped the ball. I understand pets leave us guys. Having a vet say there was a chance they just missed it and on top of that saying that the injury probably occurred when we were playing with her....unnecessary. She was at the vet 12+ hours ...it was not OUR fault and any vet who will tell you things like that WHILE you are sobbing over your first dog lying on the table with tubes running out of her ....doesn't deserve to practice medicine. Just shut up at that point! Say your sorry and shut up! Pets are family. She was our whole heart and being a Dane she was big enough to be our whole world too. The words someone tells you in that moment. They never leave you. That person becomes a part of your life forever, on one of the worst days of your life. Please if you do choose Altitude...don't choose Bell. And to be honest..the lack of respect any of the staff showed as we sat crying and waiting in the waiting room...we and anyone I know will not be back. Ever. Please think twice.

We've had some very good vets that we've like at Altitude. Its very conveniently located for us. We've been there more than ten years, before it was called altitude. Everyone is good!

Bobpeterson P

Top notch service, fair prices. Doctors do much of the procedures unlike Casper animal medical center who have Vet techs do the work. If you love your animal take then to Altitude not Casper animal medical center

We have been in multiple times, and they are always kind and knowledgeable. Our pets are well cared for at Altitude!

This is going to be a long review but I feel like the whole story needs told to understand why I only gave a 2 star rating. My 12 yr old lab was having trouble breathing and knowing the breed I assumed it was a disease involving the flaps of his esophagus not opening fully. His breathing was getting bad enough that I thought he should probably see a vet to see when it was time to make the tough decision. As we usually only use vets for annual shots and I hadn't found a vet that I really liked I thought I would call Altitude as I have always had good experiences prior (at least 4 years prior to this appt) and they have a reputation in town of being one of the more expensive and I assumed that meant good and knowledgeable vets. I called and made an appt and could only get in with one of the newer vets. She came in the room and acted like it wasn't that bad (mind you, the dog is struggling to breathe to the point he sounds "froggy"). She then prescribed a medication (some sort of relaxing/sedative) and said that we could give it to him when he gets excited or has trouble breathing. She never came back to the room and sent the vet tech back in the room with the medication and to check us out. I equated this to a new vet that didn't have proper bedside manner. In the next week we gave the dog the medication a few times but it relaxed him to the point that we thought he was dead a few times. We decided that this was not a proper medication for him. I then called back and made another appointment with one of the more senior vets for a second opinion. This vet walked in the room and within minutes acted like he needed to be put down immediately because his condition was so terrible. This came as quite a shock because it was completely different than the first vet opinion at the same establishment. We were completely taken by surprise. She prescribed huge doses of steroids as a last resort and presented it as there was no other medical treatments possible for his breathing condition. The one good thing is the vet did call me and check on the dog after a few days of the steroids. We appreciated the afterthought and attention paid to our animal by the vet. His condition did not improve. I decided that we needed another opinion before making a rash decision by putting down this member of the family. I did some research and called another vet in town that actually traveled to my home to see the animal. This vet gave the same diagnosis as Altitude but actually did research on the newest medication for treatment. With the prescription that this new vet prescribed, the dog's breathing actually improved and he is still alive 5 months later. She actually took the time to explain what was completely happening with his esophagus and even took the time to draw a picture. We appreciated the time she took to make sure that we completely understood what was happening and we never felt talked down to. She called and checked on him and we felt as though she truly cared about our animal. The cost of all of these services provided by the new vet that came to my home was a fraction of the cost of the services provided by Altitude. We will not be taking any of our animals to Altitude.

I am very satisfied with the care that the staff at Altitude Veterinary Hospital provides for my pets and I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family.

Mallory Green

I love that they call to tell you how your pet is doing and then they also call after to see how they're doing when they get home. It shows that they really care.

Bobbie Christensen

I recently took in my daughter's kitty as she was moving and could only have two pets in the new place. I suspected she had ear mites because she was shaking her head and scratching at her ear. My suspicions were correct. Here's where my experience turned sour with this clinic. She was not treated in the clinic with the first dose nor was a consult initially scheduled. I was sent home with medicine for all our fur babies... just in case. When I called back about any ear mite concerns regarding my macaw, I was left on hold for over 15 minutes. Had I not hung up, I'm sure I'd have been on hold for much longer. When I asked why Mora, the kitty who HAD the ear mites, had NOT been treated with her first dose in office the response was "we like to show the owners how to administer the medicine." I can read instructions very well and this excuse may have worked except my pickup was NOT scheduled for a consultation! We will be looking for another local vet. Money has obviously overtaken their care for the pet and I will NOT deal with another "Animal Medical Center" mentality!

We asked if we could be billed by mail and they said yes. After the appointment they wanted the payment up front. After the staffing pretty much called us liars they attempted to corner us into a petcare card. Worst experience ever..

I board my dog, Bailey here and they have been wonderful. she's quite a handful so I appreciate everything they do. Staff is friendly and the boarding facility is clean

I have a 7.5 year old Miniature-Pinschire, he is my companion I suffer from P.T.S.D. , and severe depression. B e has helped me thru 13 back surgeries including complete spinal reconstruction from S1 to T3(my tailbone to mid upper chest) HIS name is LighteningBug, he was attacked by a large pitbull, and I was desperate for help it was late after 7pn on a Wednesday night, I called our veterinarian's Emergancy number, and had to leave a message, I waited and waited but no one responded I was starting to panick from his bleeding and being in pain I called a couple other Emergancy Vet numbers and left messages the female officer from animal control told me my vets Emergancy return calls was not very good and suggested I call altitudes , I immediately called when she gave me the number and was at a loss at this point from all the time that had past because the golden hour was(aircrew say if you can get a patient assets and started treatment with in that hour the chances are superior for survival) with in 3 minutes and the Dr. Started having me describe the injuries ,breathing , color of his gums, amount of pain he seemed to be in. I told him as well as I had directpressure on his wounds except mouth and had done a complete body search for blood traces for any other wounds. The Dr. Listened giving me instructions on checking his breathing incase his lung might have been damaged I also told him my financial situation, and what LighteningBug's importance to me he(Dr.Schwann) said let's get him taken care of look at how severe LighteningBug's injuries are and go from there. DR.Schwann saved my mini-me's life and I can't thank him enough for his help . He is a very polite man who truly cares for the welfare of animals and the bound between K9, and man!!!!! I will now travel over 5 hours each way for LighteningBug to get his physical, shots, and check ups and will never forget the kindness of the man who saved my companion who helps me to get thru unexplainable amounts of pain , thru times other people can never understand without encountering it.... Thank You DR.Schwann for your help. Loyalty, and Honor, D.BarnesCrouse

My dog has special needs as he has a deformed pelvis and a very sensitive stomach. I have spent time in veterinary hospitals all over Colorado,Wyoming,Idaho, and even Maine. With a solid foundation now here in Casper I chose Altitude for my dogs care. They are by far one of the best veterinary hospitals I have walked into, and there level of care and patience for Lanny is second to none. Dr Bell is incredible and I can't thank her enough for all she has done for us. We live this place!!!!

I have never experienced such top level care from any Vet until we took our dog to Altitude. We went there for an exam, shots, and grooming. If you are using any other vet, why?

They have always taken exceptional care of my flock. And they greive with you when you lose your friend.

The vet was very caring and listened to all of my questions and concerns.

I’ve used Altitude several times and have visited other practices in the area as well. Comparatively Altitude is clean and very friendly and truly practices high end medicine. You pay for what you get. Pricing is either the same as other practices in the area or slightly more depending on what it is. When higher priced you also get more, so again, you get what you pay for. I actually asked another practice (for a spay) what they include and it wasn’t the same care even though they tout themselves as being just as good as Altitude and provide the same care. When I asked to include the missing items they were quite a bit more than Altitude. I feel bad for those who “price shop” without knowing the details. Frankly I wouldn’t take my furlings anywhere else as long as I live in Casper or any surrounding areas.

Jennifer Pascual

Had a puppy emergency late on a Friday night. Tryed to call my vet and was transferd 2 times to other vets on call. Decited to call Altitude. Dr Gray called back right away. She helped us get through the night till we could come in in the morning. On Saturday we seen Dr Schwahn, he and his staff was so helpful with our new puppies. They have a great puppy payment plan for all their vacations and spay. That is very helpful when you have 2 new babies. Thank you! Jennifer and Barry French

Deanna Lottner

The hospital was clean, odor free, safe and professional in appearance. I am very happy I decided to bring my pets here!

Stephanie Knight

Altitude always does a grand job of taking care of my Watson. He loves the boarding crew there!

Brandi Richardson

We have a bulldog who was born here at Altitudes. We had not had a vet yet and was referred here by our breeder. So they know him from birth. Once we got him a friend she goes there now too. The staff is always great. Prices are a little high but the service is great. We always are able to get in if there is any issue or emergency type of problem. They answer any general questions for us over the phone and the DR's are amazing. Highly Recommend. Will be talking to them about stud service soon as well. Excited.

Mary England

Elly is never afraid to come to Altitude. They are always busy, so others must be having a good experience as well!

Sitomi H

it cost me a little over 4 grand for my cat to die very little sympathy and the only explanation i was given at the end of all the tests was we dont know. my recomendation is for you to go to eastside veterinary hospital they are awesome, care and wont charge you an arm, leg and car to go to them. stay away from popish (altitude)

Lisa Flores

The facility is really good! Their staff is professional and the way that they care about their patients is really great.

John Niagra

They were very helpful and kept us informed about our pets. We have been taking our pets there for around 10 years now!

Hannah Rosen

The sensitivity the staff has had in the past when I have had to make hard decisions has been deeply appreciated. Having a pet is an amazing love that cannot be matched, but having to choose the best thing for the pet is always hard and they help you make the right decisions.

Desirea Petty

I have/had been going to Altitude for over 2 years. Just in the last year I have spent almost 2,000 dollars there for my pets’ needs. Although expensive, I paid my bills in full at every appointment. The one time I didn’t pay at time of service, (not because I didn’t have the money) they sent me a bill in the mail and charged me for billing. There were multiple occasions where I felt like I was being taken advantage when it came to money, but I wanted the best care for my pets. After my last experience, I will no longer be taking my animals to Altitude. Last week one of my fur baby’s was sick and not doing well, I called that day and came in (which I was charged extra for). After some xrays and an ultrasound, It was determined that there was nothing they could do and they would have to euthanize. I was distraught and crying, but they brought Gizmo back in the room so that I could say my goodbyes. Almost immediately, a girl comes in the room expecting payment... the bill was about 470 dollars. I told her I didn’t have the money to pay in full (I had just got back from vacation) but would pay a portion that day and the rest of Friday when I got paid (this was on a Wednesday). She told me to wait while she went and asked her boss if that was ok, a few minutes later her boss comes in and tells me that they won’t accept payments, but I could apply for “scratch pay” and they would check my credit. I was confused and asked if it was some kind of credit card. That’s when my boyfriend pulled out his card to pay for it... after the bill was paid, THEN they came in to euthanize. Thank god he was there... if not, how much longer would my poor baby had to have suffered? Would they have even helped me out if I didn’t qualify for whatever this “scratch pay” is? I had my suspicions, but now I KNOW that they care more about getting money in their pocket than they do your animals. I had surgery scheduled for my dog here in a few weeks (which is $1,000 more than I was originally told). I will be holding off and finding a new vet who cares more about animals than the cash.

Mariya Qadri

I have been going there since I moved to Casper and I trust my boys in their care. Following 2 TPLO surgeries by Dr. Schwann and staff, their sincerity and care they provide for my boys are exceptional. Thank you Altitude!!!
