They were able to get my cat in quickly, which was awesome. The receptionist was friendly, and the staff was civil enough. However, there were a few things that left a bad taste in my mouth. First off, I was told that my cat needed bloodwork done and that it would be 85$ for routine labs. I allowed them to do them, because quite frankly the vet was pushing hard to have them done, despite my resistance. The quote I was given by the vet was actually incorrect, the labs cost closer to 100$ than the 85$ I was quoted. Secondly, I asked for a few doses of pain medication to take home, and was pretty much just blown off. Yes, I can call my regular vet and get it, but why should that be necessary if I’m already at a veterinarian’s office. Who knows, maybe they just forgot I asked them. Finally, it was ridiculously loud in there a good bit of the time. I’m not talking about the normal dogs barking, papers printing, people coming in and out kind of noises, it was people having personal conversations, laughing and carrying on loudly. I think it’s fine to have a conversation, but I shouldn’t be able to hear every detail about your personal life when I’m in an office room with my pet waiting to be seen. Do I think the staff there is competent, absolutely. I just left feeling like they were more interested in money than my pet, and that it wasn’t an overly professional environment.

I have never had anything other than a pleasant experience with them. From the front desk, to the techs, and vet, all are very friendly and engaging with my pets. I recently lost my girl, Maci, shortly after she delivered a litter of 11 puppies. She became ill and died when the puppies were less than a week old. Taking care of newborn puppies is a harrowing experience to say the least. Being grief stricken, sleep deprived and in a constant state of chaos was extremely difficult. I was so worried we'd lose one of the puppies that I called with questions and even showed up with all of them (no appointment) because they were constipated. They took them right in and helped them and answered questions, never once making me feel like I was putting them out. I'm so grateful to this wonderful staff. Highly recommend!!

They gave me an immediate appointment when one of my cats was in severe distress. My usual vet could not see my cat until that night and even suggested I shop around for a emergency appt. Somewhere else. The front dest staff were polite and courteous and the wait was minimal. They kept my cat for the day and explained all test and medications that I would be taking home. I had to call back the next day due to a problem by one of the medications and the front desk staff had me hold while she got an immediate response from the vet. My cat is doing fine but was on death's bed when I took him in to Wheeling Veterinary. I would recommend them to anyone for complete animal care.

We were looking for a new vet after our dog was diagnosed with a heart condition. We got an appointment within a few days. They were welcoming and professional. When we needed a refill of her medication, there were no problems. It was available within a day and ready when we went to pick it up. So far, pleased with the service we have received.

I want to thank and compliment Dr. Stoehr and staff for their compassion in treating my elderly, sick dog. When the time came for the last act of kindness, he went peacefully. We all cried. No matter how many times the doc or the tech has euthanized an animal, it is painful...because they love animals' lives, too. Again, thank you for making a very difficult act bearable.

My dog suffered for 3 weeks because of this vet. I wouldn't recomend this vet to anyone. Especially for any type of surgery. Please take your pets to someone who knows what they are doing. Sure general check ups and shots would be ok. But if your pet is truly sick dont waste your time or money here like i did. Thankfully my baby is ok now but its in no way because of this place. I reached out to another vet because they wouldnt help me after 6 visits and begging and pleading telling them i felt like my dog was dying. They ignored me and refused to help me. Kept feeding him drugs to make him eat when he still had a bowel obstruction. Causing more issues. Please if you love your pet do not take it here. I only went here because my vet wasnt available and i knew my dog needed immedidiate care. I tried to wait and hold off on surgery until i got to my regular vet later that night. I ask for the xrays to take to my normal vet but they convinced me he needed surgery and that i should do it right then. I was worried so i let her do the surgery. She called me less than an hour after surgery to say she didnt find anything. Needless to say she obviously didnt check very good. Because 3 weeks later he had another surgery and the squeaker toy was removed by an amzing vet who listened to my concerns and saved my baby boy . They were just going to let him die. Not to mention the bruising she caused and the butcher job she did on his stomach. Yes its my fault i wasnt watching him close enough but hes destroyed over 1000 squeaker toys in his life and hes almost 9 never had an issue before. It was a fluke accident. Please do not take your animals to this woman.

I'm new to this area and took a recommendation from a FB friend. I called to make an appointment and the woman who answered the phone was incredibly helpful. She gave me an option of making an appointment with the vet or getting over the counter items to try to handle the situation on my own. I made an appointment. The office is a converted train station. It's adorable. The inside staff was friendly and helpful. The vet was on time and handled my nervous pets extremely well. I will definitely be using this office in the future for any of my pets' needs.
