we have been going to this establishment for almost 17 years. the other day we took our dog there for a normal appointment and they severely stressed out our dog. he weighs 10lbs soaking wet there is no need to handle him as roughly as they did. pretty much chocking him and when they drew his blood he was bleeding for hours afterwards! it's unnecessary and disappointing.

Gary Burress

Our favorite veterinary clinic. The staff treats our pets well. Dr. Masters is our vet.

WE have 3 dogs and have been to Hillside for over ten years. Never a problem. Prices are reasonable. The vet did inform us that our dog was in the early stage of pregnancy, which ended up not being true. Easy mistake. But other than that, I would recommend.

Linda Blandford

Wonderful vets. Love the front desk people. Very caring, pet loving place.

Vets and staff are kind and communicative, prices seem reasonable, and our cat has come home cheerful and friendly as ever after hospitalization; once for spay surgery and once for a bone trauma.

I came to Hillside as a second opinion of sorts for my lab mix, Chelsea. Although it seemed pricey, her treatment plan worked the first time which, in turn, will save money (the other unnamed practice failed to clear up her infection). The staff took all the right measures to sedate Chelsea in order for her to be treated. They treated she and I very well.

Always very caring and considerate, plus they have your pets best interest in mind

First off, it's a large staff which is rare for a vet clinic in a small town like Charles Town. Second, they have a drop off service, where you can drop your pet off and go to work and pick them up before closing. I don't understand how you can complain about sitting around if they have this service??? Third, they tell you costs up front and do not pressure you for money as I have experienced with Petsmart, and corporate companies. Finally, Dr. Masters knows his stuff. When we brought my Basset Hound in for enlarged glands, he knew exactly all the tests we were going to have to go through for diagnosis and was upfront about the cost of each one. In the end, she was diagnosed with Addisons disease (rare) instead of cancer, which he predicted in the beginning. Now we bring her in every month for her booster. Each time it's quick, convenient and efficient.

Marylene Davis

Loved the place.

Melissa Dennison

Excellent Care. Had the misfortune of needing euthanasia for my elderly dog. Their service is top notch and done in a very compassionate polite manor. It is a very tough thing to do and they walk you through the steps and allow you to take the time you need. Gracefully Done.

Gregg Bender

Best vet in area

Judy Sager

I was surprised at how soon I was able to get in to see Dr. Masters. They are sooo busy! He's an awesome vet and took his time with my Jemma. Very knowledgeable and patient vet!! I really think Charles Town needs a 24/7 animal hospital!

Terri Mand

I recommend Hillside to everyone. We have a dog and two cats all of which are seen here. If an emergency situation arises, they ask you to bring your pet in and they'll see them in between appointments. Once your pet has been seen, they'll call you to let you know your pet is ready for pick up. The Vets personally call you to let you know how a procedure went or what they found. Staff has always been extremely friendly and courteous. I feel like I'm taking my child to the doctor when we go.

Amanda Persing

I went to Hillside today because of a stray that was in a fight. He has a wound on his neck and we wanted to give him a fair shot at recovering. The clinic of course presented me with the options of neutering and doing a full work up but completely understood that because of the cat not being ours and him being an outdoor cat who didn't like being inside at all, there was no pressure to do anything other then what was necessary. I did agree to the rabies vaccine to make sure that all of the animals in the neighborhood are safe, and they were extremely reasonable with me the whole time. The cat was not stressed out by the care he received, in fact when he let him back out in his territory he rubbed up against my legs like he always does.

This is our preferred vet for our English bulldog.

Alison Mee

Great local vet, affordable.

Debra B

Been going here for years. Too busy at times. As a client since 2004, there are times I need to get a pretty in fast. They really don't make exceptions to help. I get it though. I have had a great vets thru the years although they have all moved on! I love Dr. Alcott! She's fantastic! ❤️

Susan Holloway

These people are the best.

Roger Snook

You can tell they love animals!

Janie Moody

oscar rodriguez

Jennifer English

Greg Borchert

Zero stars. These people are THE worst. One, they maimed my cat's ear and claimed it wasn't their fault. Of course it wasn't, their surgeon is just poorly trained. Two, I called and asked if they could see my dog and they told me to bring my dog in and that a vet could see him, what they didn't tell me is that the vet would see him in six hours, as if I'm supposed to wait? Who schedules like that? Three, they were extremely belligerent, rude and discourteous (especially Pam, who was supposed to be in charge) when I complained about the scheduling. Do not, under any circumstances, bring your pet to this place.

Sandra Henry

It's okay; I've never gone anywhere else except in Emergency situations with my pets. But have had my kittens there more than 6 times over a 6 week period and they are no closer to being over their upper respiratory thing now than they were the 1st time that Dr Masters saw them for it. (He says it's a viral thing that will take around 6 more months for them to get over - I never heard of such a long time period (almost 8 mos??!!) for something so aggravating and we DON'T like it at all. (My husband is wanting me to return them back to the rescue place we got them from but I'm kind of attached to them now - snottiness aside they're absolutely PERFECT for our famiky!) But we HATE green, runny cat-snot all over our house and furniture and it seems there could be SOMETHING they could do to get them over it BEFORE 6 months
