I've used Ayers since we got our Kitty more than 2 years ago. When he got sick, they got him in immediately and did everything on earth that could be done. We finally had to have him put down with an infectious disease. They made a clay cast of his little paws for me. That was 2 weeks ago and even though I am still crying over him, I'm grateful for all their caring and all the time they put in to find out what was wrong. I'm not ready for another pet, but when I am, I will be using Ayers again.

My dog was deathly sick and Dr.Ayers worked her in and saved her life. She had gotten into the garbage, ate some grapes and was toxic. After keeping her for a couple days With IV antibiotics she was much better. Dr.Ayers kept me informed of everything they were doing and was upfront about every cost. Highly recommended.

I’m writing this review now because we’re switching vets due to a move, but we continued to take both our dogs here for over a year even after we moved from Huntington to Charleston. I would absolutely recommend this vet to anyone in the Huntington area. Everyone from the front desk to the doctors are so considerate and remember my dogs by name every time they come in. Last year our 4 month old Welsh Corgi got too close to a cat and got scratched pretty badly in her eye. It completely clouded over and was swollen shut. We thought she would be blind in that eye, but when we took her to Ayers they were totally confidant we could fix it. They straight up made a serum from her own blood that we used as eye drops, and consulted with an eye vet in Columbus, OH for us free of charge. I think we ended up spending about $200, which was so much less than we thought it would be. Kricket’s eye healed up in about a week and you would never know anything had happened. We’ll definitely miss the team at Ayers and we hate that we’re too far away to continue taking our pets there.

They were able to squeeze an appointment in for us for our newest puppy we just picked up. We live states away so it was extremely important we got an appointment asap because we had to leave in two days. The pet store we got our puppy from required this vet appointment within 4 days of adoption. So we were very pleased to be able to get in so quickly. Everyone was very nice and helpful. I recommend this establishment for all their pet needs.

Literally the best Vet I have ever taken my dogs to be treated. The staff are incredibly helpful, honest, and genuinely caring people. My dogs have seen pretty much all the doctors. Dr. Lilly, Dr. Demarco, Dr. Baker, and Dr. Ayers are wonderful. Most of all, they helped my family with the passing of my 15 year old Husky. They were beyond supportive and it meant a lot to us. Unfortunately, I recently had to move so finding another vet has been very difficult because I don't think I will find another vet like Ayers.

Ayers is the best! Everyone is very friendly, kind and knowledgeable. We took our chocolate lab there after another veterinarian had trouble finding out what was wrong with her. The Dr did a very thorough exam and was able to discover the problem, treat her and send us home with better up to date medication. Would highly recommend everyone use them for all their fur family care.

I feel so fortunate to have Dr. Baker attend to my pets. My Little Brown Dog, Louie, is living a good life and pain free because of Dr. Baker's excellent care. She explains things in a manner that I can understand and is so very caring about not only her patients but also her patients' owners. Her kind and knowledgeable assistant is equally as concerned and compassionate. The front desk staff are so friendly and helpful - especially Chelsea. She understands mornings are not my best time of day, and, so, tries to always schedule afternoon appointments for me. She teases by calling me "Sunshine" - in reference to my late day preference! I couldn't have asked for better first experience at Ayers! I moved to Huntington from Louisville and when my dog, Scout, got sick, I was nervous about taking him to a new vet. They took every measure possible to figure out what was wrong with him and 2 weeks later, he is completely back to normal thanks to their amazing staff! I also thought I would paying $1,500 after everything, but I couldn't have been more wrong and I handed over my credit card with a smile.

Just a word about Vet hours. .. No hours posted on the door. It was Sat at 2:00 pm. Girl at desk could not be botherwased to come to the door and politely tell me the hours today or tomorrow. WAs this lunch or closed. Instead she mouthed something and I could not understand her. Not customer friendly. Mother's cat needed special food. Longtime customer thru 5 cats!

Words cannot express the gratitude I have for Dr. Ayers and his staff for the care and concern they have for my two girls. Dr. Ayers goes above and beyond what any veterinarian would do to ensure the well being of an animal and genuinely cares about each one as if they were his own. There is only veterinarian I trust to treat my girls, and one that I trust the opinion of and value the opinion of, and that is Dr. Ayers. I live 600 miles away from the Huntington area, but yet still make yearly appointments for my girls to see Dt. Ayers. Even when they see their local vet, I still call Dr. Ayers to get his opinion on issues because I value his opinion and expertise so much. Recently, he saved the life of my girl because of the misdiagnosis of another vet and performed an emergency surgery on a holiday and didn't hesitate to go out of his way to ensure that she had the best care possible recovering. Two weeks later my other one became sick again with an illness that no other vet could diagnose the problem and he instantly had a diagnosis and later confirmed it after performing tests. I believe what sets Dr. Ayers apart from other doctors is that he practices from his heart. He listens to people and really listens to what is going on with their animals. He has excellent communication with his people and is very personable. He's very accessible, always returns calls when you need to talk with him, and just an amazing all around human being. I wish I had Dr. Ayers in every city I live in because we travel so much, but every time I'm in the Huntington area visiting family, my girls will be visiting Dr. Ayers, as well, because he is like family, too.

We brought our American bulldog to try and see how they would work with him. I was highly impressed! He is a handful, and I talked to the staff about how to deal with him. Everyone has been wonderful and Jagger really likes them, this is a first! I would recommend Ayers animal hospital to anyone, especially if they have a hard headed, slightly aggressive 120 lb dog! Dr. Ayers and his staff have been very caring and professional with all our animals. We drive an hour each way to see them though we have many choices closer. They have handled our pets that have had chronic problems, regular visits for new pets and end of life for our dog. I would highly recommend their office for your "special" family members. Always very accommodating and they don't try to pressure you into purchasing special food or medicine if it isn't necessary. My two dogs and three cats only go to Ayers. They've been thr sole primary care point for all of my pets for around 10 years now. The staff is always incredibly kind and caring, and I know they always want to provide the best possible care to my "Fur Kids". Every vet tech, and every Veterinarian there has been outstanding. Routine care is quick and painless, and more serious issues, like surgery is handled with the utmost care. My dog Kaizer had to receive surgery to remove a lump from his sheath. Before going that route they offered another possible treatment option, but have the amazing surgeon come in and personally take a look before committing to a treatment plan. He did have to have surgery, but he was so, so well taken care of. He was stitched up so well that you can barely see the little scar 3 weeks out.

My dog woke up squinting one eye, and it’s a Friday, so I didn’t wanna put it off then end up at the emergency vet over the weekend. Our regular vet could not squeeze us in, and for a walk in required $70 right up front! Ayers squeezed us in, despite having to wait awhile (but again, they squeezed us in very kindly) I was so grateful. We saw Dr. Lily whom I reallllllly liked and fully explained everything, and was very thorough and aggressive with her treatment. After this unexpected visit, I’m greatly considering switching vets!

Dr. Lilly was fantastic! She took her time and explained everything to me- including the cost of everything upfront and what I could expect. She never made me feel like she was in a hurry and was very straightforward with me. Our dog ended up needing to stay a few days, which I was nervous about, but the staff (especially Erin) made me feel at ease. Erin called me every evening with detailed updates on what was going on with our boy. They really seem to care!

A very close friend of mine brings her dog to my house almost twice a week. Her dog is so smart and is treated just like another member of the family. She has been brought to Ayers since she was a puppy. Ayers has done nothing but hurt this dog the more she came to her vet. She was put on every diet they suggested and her owner has done everything she can. Now the dog needs surgery and Ayers WILL NOT be the ones to perform the surgery. They are 100% the reason why this dog is in so much pain. All they care about is money!! They do not care about the dog to the point they couldnt even remember her name even though she has been there her entire life. Dr. Lilly and the staff has dropped the ball on this dog and i DO NOT recommend this vet to anyone! The dogs name and medical concerns i will not expose, but Ayers i for sure will every chance i get.

My wife had to have her 18 year old house cat put down. The way Dr. Ayers and staff handled the situation was excellent. These are good people who obviously love animals and appreciate their owners. Dr. Ayers also took care of that same cat on a few occasions and probably allowed her that healthy 18 years... We highly recommend Ayers Animal Hospital.
