Best pet care ever! Clean, outstanding veterinary care for your pet! We love Dr Tackett!
They were very helpful and friendly.
Six years of loyalty to this vet. Lord knows they like to charge. Today my dog was booked in at 4:30. I asked when I booked her in if I could drop in morning and pick her up in the evening, yes for $25.00. Ok forget that I’ll bring her at 4:30, get to vets office ( a bunch of others were in front of me). I asked to drop dog so I can get back to work, I’ll pick her up before close. “Got to check with Doctor” I’m told. Minutes later nope we can’t do that they say. Fine, after 6 years and $1000’s spent I’ll have my dogs medical records and go elsewhere. I suggest you do too..
Friendly people work at Animal Care. They take a deep interest in the animals. Great Doctors!
The best veterinarians in town. They treat your pet the way people used to be treated when they saw the doctor. This visit was an emergency and when I got there, half of the staff came out to see if they could help. There was no waiting. He went straight to the evaluation area and I was put in an exam room. Two veternarian's assistants and two veternarians came out individually and talked with me making sure I was informed of what they were doing and why they were doing it. My furbaby went to doggie heaven but he got wonderful care before he went. I highly recommend Animal Care Associates to any one that loves their furbaby.
We have taken our pets to Animal Care Associates for as long as we have lived in this area. The doctors and staff are caring, knowledgeable and efficient. They treat us and our pets as family. Sharing our joys and sorrows as our pets age. I have recommended this clinic to friends and colleagues. I will continue to trust Animal Care Associates with all my pets. Bear and Jynx wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving!
Wonderful place with expert vets and vet techs. Animal Care Associates has cared for my pets for more than 20 years. My only complaint is that prices are very high, but I think the same statement could be made about most any vet hospital.
I have been taking my dogs there for the last two years and have found them to be the most professional, compassionate, and caring staff ever. I have owned dogs all my life and ACA is second to none in service and love for animals. Dr's Patton, Webster, and Tackett are never rushed, but give you as much time as needed for questions and comments and never make you feel inferior.
I met them years ago when my cat suddenly got very sick. They fit us in and sent us to the emergency vet...cared for me and for her. I have taken my dog and new cat there as well..they are terrific. My dog actually looks forward to going there and seeing her friends!
We love Animal Care Associates! The entire staff help you care for your fur babies, while pointing out areas you can save money. I truly feel the staff genuinely care about the whole family. On one occasion, my dog needed to come into the office, I'd had surgery and couldn't drive, so the receptionist offered to come to my house to pick him up! I highly recommend these guys to everyone!
I truly love this place! I couldn’t imagine taking my dogs anywhere else! They are the best here so good to your furbabies and they really care and love taking care of them, which means everything to me! The place is clean and the staff is awesome and the doctors are the best! If you want the best for your animals you best bring them here! Thank you animal care associates!!
I had to bring in both of my bunnies (Roberto and Ringo) for an appt. Dr. Webster and his staff were amazing. They gave two bunny physicals simultaneously and then it took three of us to clip Ringo's nails as he is a rescue and still nervous around people. I can't believe how wonderful the staff was and they love all the animals. Now Ringo loves his nails! Very happy. :)
Need better hours for exotic animals, only place that takes them... 24 hour would be great
Every pet I've had since I was a kid has been brought here. Best vet around.
Dr. Patton is an absolute angel. I brought in an extremely sick tortoise that was given to me, and he gave me the option of donating him to the clinic so he could be cared for and saved at just the cost of the examination. He was extremely thorough and up-front with me about the tortoise's many issues, and was the most knowledgeable reptile vet I've ever spoken to. Dr. Patton assured me that if the tort made it, he would personally adopt him, and I knew that the poor little guy would be in the best hands possible. I am so fortunate to have found such a caring and knowledgeable reptile vet, I have recommended this clinic to all of my friends and will be taking all of my reptiles and any other "exotics" there over the years. Thank you, Animal Care Associates!
Excellent care for my pets. Very knowledgeable doctors who will go the extra mile to find out what's wrong with your pet. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
The staff at Animal Care Associates is attentive and thorough. The facility is clean and inviting; I feel confident that my dog is receiving the best care here!
Staff is very friendly! They are very thorough. They will take the time to answer your questions. They treat you and your pet just like it's their pet/fmamily. I definitely will not take my puppy anywhere else! My puppy absolutely loves the staff there!!! If you have never been there i urge you t ok try it out!!!!!
It is the only exotic pet vet in the area that being said they do a great job
I will definitely be back! Clean, professional and caring. Couldn't ask for a better experience!
Dr. Tackett is very caring. She is an excellent doctor and has always been great to work with. I totally trust my dog with her.
The staff of ACA are wonderful and caring people. I have been a client of for many years and have always received excellent service for my many dogs. The hospital is always immaculate and the Vets are very professional. I can't say enough about how caring the staff is, especially during the difficult times.
Does anyone know if they take exotic pets to.
Wouldn't trust my pet to any other practice in Charleston.
We have been enjoying the services of Animal Care Associates for many years. Everyone is very kind and treats my dogs as their own. I would highly recommend
If I could give Animal Care 10 stars I would! We have been clients there for 30 years with many pets--dogs, rabbits, rats.We have gotten nothing but the best of care from the wonderful staff. Dr Webster treated my rabbits back in the day when they were considered "exotic animals" and not too many local vets knew much about them. I adore Dr Beth Tackett! She immediately diagnosed my Johnny with distemper when another vet was calling it anything but that, and Animal Care saved his life. Johnny loves to go visit her and all his friends there. Their hospital is AAHA accredited and is super clean and modern. They are perhaps a little more expensive than some other area vets but they are up on all the latest technology and standards of care. I will never go anyplace else and I very highly recommend Animal Care Associates to any animal owner, no matter what kind of animal you have.
My husband and I have been very happy with the doctors and staff! We have never had a problem with appointments and treatment. Definitely recommend them!
My dog Lucy was treated with care and love and I'm very pleased with the outcome of her operation. She is back to her old self and will have the stitchs removed friday. Dr. Tacket did an excellent job and called to see how lucy was doing. Thanks to all at aminal care.
Animal Care Associates have always been more than helpful in my efforts to have feral and stray cats altered. The support and kindness they give me makes me feel like I can continue trying to help the babies that need love and care.
Thank you for you compassion and generosity!
Great and friendly staff
I highly recommend this facility. Our experience with Animal Care has always been beyond what is expected.
We have moved but still take our dog there even the long drive there is ok
Caring service with the pets and people
Best place to take your fur babies!❤
I didn't have an appointment and my dog was in pain. They said bring her in and we'll see what's going on. The Dr. found out that her arthritis was worse and she had hurt her leg jumping up onto the bed. We are now reevaluating her pain management and trying something new. Right now her pain level has dropped to the point her can move around without whimpering. I have to say I love all the DR.s there! They care about their patients and that counts a lot!! Thank you
Honestly the best vet I've ever been to. My wife and I have had several kinds of animals, dogs, rabbits, hedgehogs , turtles and fish. This place definitely does a great job with our hedgies rabbits and dogs. Kind service, reasonable pricing, quick service that has decent hours. Always in and out fast. The best vet ever
Have been going to ACA since around 1998. Excellent and friendly staff. Facilities are very nice. They always worked with options and explained everything each step of way.
Animal Care Associates is an exceptional practice. We have been pleased with all the doctors (two of which have performed surgery on our dogs). I appreciate that the doctors and staff end the visit by asking if you have any questions. I also greatly appreciate receiving a phone call or text after a surgery or procedure is done as I tend to get anxious and hope everything is going well. I have two labs that I entrust to the care of Animal Care Associates and there's a reason for that. My dogs love going to the vet and I credit that to the love and attention they receive every time they go. I want only the best care for my dogs and that's what they get at Animal Care Associates.
Great with your pets
They take exceptional care of my pets. Staff is friendly and vets are knowledgeable.
We have been taking our pets to Animal Care Associates for 23 years. They have always given them the best of care and have treated our family with warm concern and respect. We love ACA.
Amazing with my sick Chameleon.... there staff really listens and is gentle with their animals. Love them
Great service. They take wonderful care of my cat and have been taking care of pets we've had since I was a kid. I'm truly a lifelong customer.
They are very compassionate people! They take good care of your pet
This has been my vet for many years. They have offered me many opportunities to save my pets and enjoy them for as long as I can. They offer competent up to date medical treatments. I must say I feel confident with all my pets care.
The office is always spotless and efficient when we visit. I have never had much of a wait to be seen, even when being fit in for an emergency. I entrust my Frenchie, pittie and hunting dog rescues, and cat to the providers and staff here completely. Our family couldn't be happier with this office to proactively prevent disease and manage anything that may come up in the future. Highly recommended!!!
Always excellent care and service!
Animal Care associates has always provided excellent care for our cats! I highly recommend them!
Boarding was reasonably priced and vaccinations were given during our pets' stay. Would definitely recommend
The doctor's and staff are very knowledgeable and nice. You could not find a better vet to take your animals to.
love our doc there
Love how the doctors and staff care for our pets! Always a wonderful experience! ❤
Love this place they have helped me out so much with my sons guinea pig...love them
This veterinary center is fabulous!! Excellent and exceptional care in a clean facility!! The staff and vets are always friendly and knowledgeable!! They go above and beyond expectations!!
Dr.Patton and the staff was great to our pet cat Smokey and to us. I wouldn't take our animals anywhere else but Animal care associates because they are the best. Thanks for the great service and care for our pet Smokey.
Doctor Patton is wonderful with my parrot, and has helped her so much. Wonderful staff and atmosphere!
All of my pets enjoy the staff and care giving at Animal Care Associates!
I take my senior dog here and they really take good Care of her. All the doctors are caring and knowledgeable and take the time to explain everything. Any questions you have they answer them as well. Even the receptionists are friendly.
Best vets they really care about your animals
We love Animal Care Associates so much that whenever we moved to Teays Valley eight years ago, we continued making the drive to Charleston for our golden retriever's needs. Front office staff, vet techs, vets -- all wonderful!
They are best around and I would highly recommend them to care for your pets. The faucilty is very clean and oder free. The staff is very polite and helpful.
Great staff! Love bringing my dogs here!
AAHA accredited unlike most in Kanawha Valley. 3 yrs ago the ONLY Veterinarian I called that were aware and willing, to inoculate my teeny dog with Lepto seperately from the 5/6/7/8-in-one(!) shots that are NO LONGER NECCESARY ea. yr. After the boosters and 1 year rabies, one only needs to inoculate every 3yrs. With exception toward Lepto, Lyme, and a few particular to the area(s) in which you live. WV is a State that Leptosporosis "flare ups" are likely to occur. My dog(s) are inoculated each year at her/his annual exam. I have witnessed dogs recovering from Lyme looking emaciated and part crippled from the infection. Oh my! She is also inoculated for Lyme. No way will my Lil girl be in that predicament. Don't forget having Animal Care Associates check for heartworm; and provide year round protection! ACA will remind you and ask if you'd like to have the test performed, but ya haveta go to be reminded! Mosquitos hatch throughout the winter here, it isn't cold enough to kill them off until spring. I suggest heartworm medication/prevention year round. I've witnessed treatment of an infected dog. It was horrible! I watch a robust, protective GSD, bada*s, "go down" with eyes rolling up as the toxin; to kill the heartworm infection, was injected into him every 12 hrs for I believe 3 days. Timber was lucky, he survived, many may not(!), especially if you skip the vet until something goes wrong. I'm horrified by some who, when asked what happened, answer with,"I dunno why she died, it's a dog" or "maybe he ate something bad" or "he was 7 and old". None of this needs to happen! Take your pets here and they'll be glad to keep your pet from the "I dunnos" to the best of their ability. Prevention is key! Remember, as I said above...... AAHA accredited AND of the many I called, the only one in the valley to have the Leptosporosis inoculation individually. I feel better getting this off my chest and out to you West Virginians, my home sweet home. ......
Animal Care Associates is wonderful. The office staff is extremely helpful and the vets go the extra mile to make sure my pet has the best care possible.
Great friendly staff, very prompt at my appointment. They worked in my dog that was sick within 24 hours. They even called a few days later to ensure he was getting better! Would definitely recommend.
Dr. Patton and staff were awesome! He took his time and showed lots of care with our fur baby and answered all of our questions!! Would highly recommend!!
They have taken great care of my pets and have been open about what everything will cost before any procedures or tests. Highly Recommend!
ACA took care of my old man cat when he started to get very ill. They were always kind and when we had emergencies they got us in. I appreciate the Vets, the vet techs, and everyone who worked at the front desk. When it was time to say goodbye they could not have been more warm and supportive. A wonderful clinic, would recommend.
The staff is so professional and kind! I'm very happy with the service my dog and I receive there.
Very friendly staff! My sister and I found an injured screech owl. They took it immediately with no hesitation, and saw that it was cared for!
Horrible the staff have no empathy for you in a crisis. I had to suddenly put a pet down due to a incurable illness and the vets attitude towards me was so non chalant as if he could care less. He had a lets get it over with attitude. I will never return here because of that and i will make sure neither do my family and friends.
Excellent doctors and staff! I've been taking my pets here for more than 15 years.
Every visit to Animal Care Associates has been above the norm for vet clinics. My cats & I are treated kindly by knowledgeable staff. Diagnosis and Treatment plan are explained in detail, including fees. No surprise bill when leaving. Best place ever for animal care.
Best care for your companion animals
Animal Care Associates, Charleston, WV are the greatest for your fur babies. They are a caring clinic with expertise and the best of vets. I live out of state and still take my dogs to them because they are the best!
Very Good service
Excellent place to take your pets for check ups and medical issues. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Animal Care Associates is always helpful. The vets and the techs are super nice, and work to make my pets (and myself) as comfortable with what is going on as possible. Even if I just stop in to pick up meds for my pets, they always take the time to make sure I know how to give the medicine, and encourage me to call if I still have concerns.
Amazing exotic care vets
While evacuating from North Carolina and Hurricane Florence...and wanting to attend a Football Game of our son who was playing in the area...we were not sure what to do with our Cocker Spaniel...Animal Care Associates had outstanding customer service and accomodating care and boarding for our dog. Chantel and Shannon and the entire staff showed compassion and so much love to our dog-Tanner.
I love this place. I brought in a duck that had been hit by a car. They took good care of him and made him feel loved before he crossed that beautiful rainbow bridge.
Little pricey but they are worth it. Great providers of care for my fur babies
Recommended by a friend and well worth the little extra drive. My dog has some special needs and this place was very helpful in continuing her treatment after we had moved from another state/vet. To that lady below complaining about not getting in on a saturday: thats what appointments are. Make one and you'll get in. That said, ACA does try their best to get you in as soon as possible and have been fairly flexible with my work schedule. The most impressive thing is all the vets and techs actually get on the floor to try and put my dog at ease, who is always terrified going to the doctor and on her last visit actually did much better. Everyone I've talked to is extremely nice.
Great staff!
I recommend this establishment to anyone and everyone that love their pets! I’ve been to several Vets throughout my life not only in West Botginia but also Ohio, due to the fact I am a dog lover, I have owned and loved Saint Bernards and old English mastiffs most of my life, and I am now owned by the most beautiful Siberian Huskies. Mrs. Slacks is amazing, I can not thank her enough. She goes above and beyond with all of her patients! She is very sweet and sincere and when dealing with her unlike many vets and vet practices I’ve been to, it’s not about the money with her, she’s a keeper! Lol
Love the people and the people care about the animals
They provided excellent service to my animals
I have taken my fur babies there for over 30 years... I have never had a bad experience! They are very caring and respectful of our love of our babies.
We went there after coming across an injured Owlettes. ACA took them in and started figuring out the extent of injury. Fantastic people.
My dog always gets the best of care. The staff is always very helpful.
Staff is wonderful!
Great place!. Very friendly, courteous, professional, and quick (without feeling rushed). I will definitely be back for the needs of my four legged family members (fur and scales).
I have been going to Animal Care for around five years now. I have never had a bad experience with them. The hospital is very clean, the staff is always kind and courteous and will assist you in any way they can. They take the time needed to evaluate and treat your pet. They always inform you what the issues are and what treatment is recommended and treat you and your pet with the upmost respect. I would, and have, highly recommend them to anybody.
I could not be more satisfied with the care received by my sugar glider. Dr. Tackett is knowledgeable, friendly, and compassionate. The staff is friendly and the business establishment is clean. My male was neutered today without any complications. The only thing I wish they had was a 24 hour emergency line. Other than that, this place is absolutely perfect!
I have been to a couple of vets in our area and Animal Care Associates BY FAR are the absolute best! They are very compassionate and supportive.
Nice and very professional
Been a patient here for years, needed a quick visit on a Saturday for my new puppy, They said they had no appts available today! Thats is not acceptable for a long time customer, they will NO LONGER be my Vet of choice. No compassion here.
The staff at Animal Care Associates are wonderful! They are always very attentive and caring.
Animal Care was there for me when I got my new puppy and as years went by, I realized how lucky we were to have found such a great animal hospital. Love the doctors and staff.
Everyone at ACA is highly competent and kind - the health and well-being your pet always come first.
They are very friendly and great with my pets!!!!
I’ve called many clinics in my area to see what they charge to have a cat spayed. The lady who answered the phone was super nice, but they’re definitely very expensive. $170-$200 .. their service may be great, I have never been there, but their prices ... oh wow.
I've had two dogs sick there recently and the doctors took very good care and provided information to me to help them. Also the staff is always friendly!
They treat our girls (boxers) like they are their pets. Totally the best bets in the Valley.
I am really happy with this office. The staff and the doctors are very kind and they are always prompt and professional. They call to check on my pet the day after a visit. I got a welcome card in the mail. Just overall a nice experience. A little pricier than my last vet but 100x better quality in service and how my pets are treated! This will be my forever vet for my exotics.
Excellent care. Have been taking my pets to Animal Care for many years. Highly recommend.
I was SO impressed with this Vet!!! They are awesome! If you have pets, not just dogs or cats, THIS is the place to bring them!!!!
Love all the vets here. Girls at the desk area always very nice and helpful.
Great experience the staff and Vets were wonderful .
Great people. They are very knowledgeable and they treat my puppy like a princess.
We had to have our baby put to sleep on February 10th and I have to say Doctor Webster is just exceptional. I have been taking my animals there for approximately 9 years now and he is the absolute best. He made the process easier and allowed us all the time we needed to say goodbye to our Barney. He treats every animal special no matter if they're having surgery or just a routine check up. He is truly a blessing. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my babies. We are very lucky to have found animal care associates.
The only place I have ever brought my rabbits. I trust them, knowing they have knowledge in exotic pets. I will say though, I brought one of my rabbits in emergently in February and waited 2.5 hours before he died in my lap without ever being seen. I understand people having appointments but an emergency is an emergency, and that was his vet office.
Dr. Patton is the best! And all the staff are very friendly and caring.
We met Dr Patton in 2013 when we had to put down our 17 year old cat. We lost our cat early because of negligent care with another animal hospital. They didn't take the time or seem to care he was in renal failure. They explained as allergies. As a last ditch attemp, we took him to Dr Patton who immediately knew what was wrong. Oh how I wished Felix had been in a Dr Pattons care, we may have had him longer. My remaining cat has been with Dr Patton since then. I would not trust his care to anyone else. I feel Dr Patton sincerely cares about his patients. I've also gotten him two other patients as a result. We think the world of Animal Care Associates and everyone there from Dr Patton to the assistants and office staff. Keep up the good work!!!
They have taken great care of our dog, Pippa when we are out of town and whenever she gets ear infections over the past 7 years.
This is by FAR the best vet service I've ever experienced. We'd never even been there before when our bulldog got extremely ill very quickly, and the receptionist told me to come on in, they'd make space. Not only did they make SPACE, the vet (Dr. Melissa Andritz, a Cornell graduate!) and her tech Jennifer did literally everything they could think of to help our pup, took hours out of their very busy day to pay special attention to us, and the cost was quite reasonable for all the work they did. I won't go anywhere else again, period. I HIGHLY recommend this place, the staff and the vets to anyone in the area. We live 35 minutes away and will always bring our animals to Dr. Andritz! You'd be hard pressed to find better care within 100 miles.
I have always had a positive experience with the full staff from the front desk to the veterinarians. I am so glad I found this place and recommend it highly.
From my first call, this place gave exceptional care to our little kitty. We were very worried about her, and personally, I think they saved her life. Also, you can pay someone to do a job, but you can’t pay them to care, and everyone involved with our cat, especially the two doctors, gave off a very loving and competent vibe. I’m thankful this place is here!
I have taken my pets to Animal Care Associates for years and Dr. Patton is a wonderful, caring vet and person. He always gives the time and attention to my babies that I feel they need. My youngest kitty just broke his leg in three places and Dr. Tackett stepped up and worked him into her schedule and did a great job. I recommend Animal Care Associates to anyone who wants the best for their pets. They are truly a 5 Star clinic.
The staff is very accommodating to my Apollo. He is terrified when we get there and they keep him calm and take great care of him
Awesome visit! Staff was wonderful, very short wait and vet was very helpful!
This place is kept really clean and neat & the staff was very knowledgeable & took amazing care of my bearded dragon.
Animal Care Associates are hands down the best group of caring, compassionate, and professional people! I would definitely recommend them!
I have taken my small animals here and they are well-cared for. The techs are amazing with my animals and I never worry about them. The vets are quick to respond to any issues or questions I have. I am extremely happy that they see small animals and pocket pets.
We are delighted to have a new puppy and to renew our association with Animal Care Associates. Our last dog passed away about 13 years ago. Animal Care Associates took care of our previous 2 dogs with incredible care and compassion. We are so happy they will be taking care of our new puppy as they did for our previous fur babies.
All around great place to take reptiles and furry friends
ACA is the only place to have reptiles appropriately treated in the Kanawha Valley. Our bearded dragon was showing signs of a RI, and they got us in immediately. They did not perform unnecessary procedures to increase our costs, and they taught me how to provide the antibiotic injections. I was surprised with how low the bill was considering what others have paid to have their beardies treated at other locations.
