My family and I have been bringing our animals to Vancouver Veterinary for at least the past 20 years, probably much longer. Dr. Velardi is awesome and the only vet I would trust with my animals. He is so kind and compassionate and always gives you his honest opinion only recommending what is absolutely necessary. He has never tried to "over sell" with unneeded services or sway your decision in any way. He just gives you his opinion and leaves the decisions up to you. Dr. Velardi has seen us through our new babies whether a puppy or a kitten in all the happy days through the sadness of seeing or having to say goodbye to an old friend in their final days. I wouldn't trust my beloved animals with anyone but Dr. Velardi.
We moved further away but won't take our dog anywhere else. Beyond saving our dog's life at one point, Dr. Velardi et al have just been wonderful every step of the way.
I took my pupper in because he was holding his tail like it was in pain and I thought he'd broken it. The staff here was super friendly and professional. He didn't have a broken tail, but they did him a few favors, and he was totally fine the next day. Reasonably priced.
Dr. Velardi and the staff at Vancouver Veterinary Hospital are fabulous. They inform, educate and have tons of patience for questions. We’ve been taking our dogs and cats there since moving to Vancouver in 2001. I always feel like I’ve made the right decision regarding care because Dr. Velardi is an excellent communicator and his staff are always helpful, even at the busiest of times. Thanks VVH, you make it worth it to own pets!
Great service and great employees.
These people have always been and will continue to be THE best Veterinary period!! Their commitment to our fuzzy friends is boundless!!! I drive by 30 other vets to get to Dr. Velardy and his crew!! Simply doesn't get better than this
Been going here for 13 years. The best vet in town
We have used their since 2008. They have cared for three dogs.. Polite, professional, affordable.
Great place to take your pet.Kind and loving staff.
Records are thrown out after 3 years. No flea meds given unless you pay for an exam.
Have been taking my sweet baby boy since he was 8 weeks. He's now 7 years old and has been kept healthy through the great care and advice from this Clinic. Very happy!
I love this Vet! Dr Valarde is kind, compassionate & doesn’t try to force unnecessary procedures on you. He also understands people’s budgets all the while providing the best care possible. I have been taking my furry children here for 15 plus years and have never had a bad experience. I can not recommend them enough. Sorry I don’t have photos
Great little ma and pa vet. Friendly staff and super affordable
We love the Dr and his staff!
Good people take good care of your PET'S.
Amazing service! They really put my little one at ease about bringing our dog to the vet. The receptionist even wrapped up his stuffed zeebras owie on his leg!
We've been going to this veterinarian for a very long time, and they have amazing service. The veterinarians love animals, and know how to act around them.
The staff are incredibly helpful and caring; they were accommodating with scheduling an appointment and went out of their way to make my senior dog feel welcomed and special. The doctor is patient, knowledgeable, and kind. This is the only place in town that my dog approved! Honestly, I created a contact on my phone after scheduling an appointment...luckily the visit went well. Two paws up!
They are so good to my little miss Annie. Friendly and quick!
Great place to take your pet. Honest and they don't beat around the bush. Extremely fair pricing.
Great service!
They did a good job taking care of my cat. He was diagnosed with diabetes and since he's been on medication he's very healthy.
The gal at the front desk was very nice, but no one is nice enough to make up for how unfriendly the actual doctor was. If you don't enjoy being around animals, pick a different career path. Blew off all my questions and/or concerns with mostly blank stares and eye rolls. Maybe I caught her on an off day, but I won't be taking my dog back there. She deserves better care than what she got here.
Great service priced fairly
Where KINDNESS ABOUNDS... after a long struggle I had to put my dear sweet pug down. After getting high quotes and the run around at other vets I went to V.V.H. There were NO EXTRA CHARGES to hold her on my lap when she was given the injection, they didn't put her through painful tests/exam but instead they listened to me and took my word that 7she was at the end of her life, and they only charged $45 (another vet quoted me $52 but b/c I wanted to be with her it was going to be $92...yep $40 extra to sit on a chair and give her comfort in the final moments of her life, now that's awful) ♥Dr V. and his Staff are #1 in Compassion, Grace, and Price. TY
ATTN: Roy Velardi, DVM My apologies as to the negative review I wrote on behalf of your Vet Clinic. I made the mistake with your clinic over the one that was actually used. I have removed the negative review and again, I apologize for my mishap.
These Wonderful people Saved my Cin. Cinder loves them and they are so loving towards her! They went above and beyond working with me on payment. Great people.
Nice and caring people.
I grew up on a farm, I was a vet tech, and emt 1. I am very particular about my veterinarian, I have been here for 8 years, 2 cats, 2 dogs ( chickens and rabbits don't count) Great caring service, very direct. always available when my animals are in need, I am very happy. what do you call a vet who can work on only 1 animal? an M.D. lol.
I moved here a few years ago but since my cat was used to my old vet in Portland, I kept going there. I tried a couple other vets in Vancouver for smaller issues, but both were bad experiences. My cat got in a fight and needed attention quickly so I found Vancouver Vet Hospital and I'm so glad I did! They took care of this absess, and several other issues that they thought were important. These were issues, including a lump on his side, that I had brought up to the old vet and thought they'd checked. However, when Vancouver Vet called for the records, turns out they had never checked it, just said "its probably a fatty tissue lump". But they never did the simple test to determine for sure, when I thought they had! Vancouver Vet took the reins and made sure he was all covered with everything he needed. I'm very impressed, and will definitely continue to use them. They seem really great so far!
This the best vet clinic in Vancouver WA, Dr. Velardi gets the job done without having to put my dog out. He is compassionate, cares deeply for animals and don't prescribe unnecessary medications. They gave me the lowest cost on neutering my dog since he is cryptorchid and a big dog. It's sad they don't have 24hr emergency care but I am happy they are around. I won't take my dog and my future furbaby anywhere but here.
When my little Pomeranian got sick they assisted with her treatment. They were very understanding of her medical issues, my needs as she became more sick, and took great care of her.
Staff is amazing and so friendly
The staff are very rude they're not helpful at all they don't want to make an appointment for you.
It's a small place with friendly staff who really seem to care about your pets health
They care about your animal. Dr.Ray took good care of Toto.
This has been one of the best vet experiences I have had in a while, I will make this my new regular vet for my dog. The Dr. Velardi is direct and matter of fact and approaches care in a systematic way which I like a lot. He treated my dog with care, concern and respect but if you are looking for a vet to be all mushy over your animal, you won't get that here. The care is affordable and the staff were great.
An amazing staff!
So friendly! They treat my dogs like family, Charlie and Georgie LOVE going to see them.
Absolutely the best. Usually the appointment time is when your pet is seen by Dr. Velardi which is a major plus. Everyone there is more than helpful.
Great experience the last few years. Recommend.
The staff is very nice and helpful
Was referred there by a friend for my new adopted dog. Staff wad very friendly and helpful from front desk and vet tech to the doctor. They don't push unnecessary stuff.
I have been going to Vancouver Veterinary Hospital for 22 years and would not even consider going to another DVM or clinic. All of my dogs have lived nice, long, active lives due to excellent care. Dr. Velardi and his staff are professional and compassionate. Unnecessary tests & procedures are not tacked on to the bill, yet he always figures out a successful treatment plan. I would not trust anyone else to take care of Scooter.
I am shocked that this place has received such praise. I have brought my cat in multiple times hoping for a better experience and have been disappointed each time. Their “customer service” is completely lackluster. Both vets on staff seem to be annoyed that you’re even there and are incredibly condescending. They do not handle the pets with care and give little to no information. When calling to follow up with concerns, I am never able to speak to the vet directly. They are incredibly vague and leave me having to fill in the blanks using google. I do not trust the vets here with my pet. They are also incredibly overpriced. I am now taking my cat to a vet that charges only a fraction of what this place does, AND I receive much better service. For a business that devotes itself to the well-being of animals, I am so incredibly disappointed with the lack of care and respect that they showed me and my pet. I don’t care if they are only a 5 minute drive, I am now driving 45 minutes to a vet that actually cares.
I have took all my animals for years. They have always been great
Been coming to this clinic for several years and after todays visit I am done! The manager Beckie is very rude and ready to pass you off to another clinic. I asked/talked about an issue in the staffs documentation and my frustration when it comes to things not being followed through when I make appointments and the manager didn’t care.
Awesome vet. One of my dogs is very aggressive and they do an awesome job with him.
Professional and clean..they don't try to push unnecessary procedures..
I used to really like this place. They didn't gouge you for fixing cats. You took your cat in and paid the fee of the neutering only. Now they want to do a visit first so the vet gets to know your cat before he fixes or alters them (50$). So it's over $100 to get a male cat altered now, because they want to get to know your pet first and establish a relationship in a consultation visit. They don't need to do this this is flat-out just a way to get more money from an individual. SCAMMY in my book.
The staff were competent and nice. The facilities are very dated and while I would expect a veterinary hospital to have a "scent" this one was a bit smellier than was acceptable in my opinion. I'm going to assume the smell was stronger than expected because of a recent accident and give this place 4 stars because I like the staff.
Top-notch staff! Dr Velardi is very compassionate and cares greatly for both the patients and their owners. The front-line staff are friendly, courteous and very profeccient.
Got my cat fixed here. It was great the ladies were really nice but the male doctor didn't seem to care but it didn't matter. They made the process easy for me and my cat was great after the surgery.
Service was great the food was generally good but the pita pasta was a bit dry. When brought to the manager attention it was attended to. Was very please.
Love Dr. Velardi! He's skilled, personable, &genuinely cares about our puppers.
A great place to take your pet
This is my place, I take all my animals here and trust them with my family pets. Dr. Velardi is a heartfelt man and always tell me the truth and doesn't charge me an arm and leg for services. I will never take my pets anywhere else and always refer my family and friends to this office.
I cannot recommend Vancouver Veterinary Hospital enough. They have been excellent with both of my dogs (even my nervous one), and my cat. The desk staff is so pleasant that arriving early for an appointment is enjoyable, especially because if they can get us in a little early, they do. My cat had a dental abscess and they worked with me to find an appointment time I could make. Then the doc put me at ease, understanding how the finances were a factor in how much treatment she could get. In the end, they suggested some options without pushing me towards an expensive solution, which makes me trust their recommendations so much more. Then, even with a full schedule, the doc made room on the next business day to do my cat's surgery and they called me to update me once she was in recovery. This experience makes me trust this practice with all my animals!
Very nice office
Dr. Velarde is wonderful and will not guide you to expensive and unnecessary pet care. Have gone to him for my dogs now for 12 years.
They are expensive
I have been going to Vancouver Veterinary Hospital for 15 years. I couldn't ask for better care for my animals. As my animals age, I am there more frequently. They take great care of my "kids". Dr Valerdi is very personable when talking to you and explaining what the needs for my animals are. The girls at the front desk always listen to me and are able to work with my scheduling needs. I always recommend the clinic to my friends.
If you're looking for a five star veterinary clinic this is it! The staff is very friendly, efficient, helpful, and knowledgeable. Dr. Velardi is an excellent D.V.M. who has treated treated my two dogs and two cats for the past four years. I live in Oregon and came to Dr. Velardi initially because it was recommended by two colleagues as a veterinary hospital that gave first rate service at a fair price. They were right! You will be well please should you select the Vancouver Veterinary Hospital for you pets' needs medical needs.
They're good
Dr. Velardi and his staff have taken care of my Teacup Yorkie since she was 13 weeks old. Even though I no longer live in Vancouver, it is worth the drive for her to get the care she does here.
The Vancouver Vet Hospital has been our vet since we moved to Vancouver about 2 and a half years ago. We havent tried anyone else as they have met our expectations. They send notifications when we need to come in, the price is ok, and the people there seem like they care and are helpful. We just took our dog in for a tooth cleaning and extraction and they were very up front about possible costs and gave us options that made the procedure more expensive but easier on our dog. They have done this before and go over the options in great deal and we appreciate that. Our dog has some anxiety but seemed to do well which indicates that the care was good. We will continue to use them and I see no reason not to recommend them.
Wow great vet, knowledgeable, friendly both the vet and staff. My Yorkie and pomeranian loved to go to the vet they loved it
They are truly awesome
Always helpful, honest and willing to work with you
great staff. not overpriced.
We love the treatment our dogs get here. The staff is friendly and the prices are very reasonable.
We got our black lab treated here for a minor surgery. I was so pleased with our experience. Somehow they overbooked themselves, but the Doc didn't turn us away he worked through his lunch instead to make it work. The fact that the surgery was less than half of the other quotes I got made me nervous at first, but she healed up great and her life has been so much better ever since. I'm really glad we found this place when we did.
Teriffic team who car about your pet.
They provided the best care and compassion for the pet and owner.I highly recommend them for all your pets health.
Have been a customer at Vancouver Vet for years. Always provided the best care for our dogs and cats.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, if they don't know the answer they will find it for you.
Great doctor and manner in making our dog comfortable and relaxed.
Took my puppy in to get neutered. The vet assistant was very sweet and nurturing towards our puppy and my boys who were a little anxious about leaving him there.
Perfect in every way. Been going there for over 10 years.
Doctor Velardi provides high quality vet care at reasonable rates. We trust him with our fur kids and we recommend him to all our friends.
I have taken my pets here for over 20 years. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and compassionate.
