I highly recommend Tumwater Veterinary Hospital. I was referred here by my regular vet for an ultrasound my dog needed. I arrived a few minutes early and was greeted with a pleasant staff. The technician Matt came out a few minutes after I arrived to call me back and go over what the plan was for my dog. He was very caring and very professional. He was great with my dog. This vet hospital has pretty much everything here your animal may need and a compassionate and well trained staff and doctors to help you.

I brought our Great Dane Jersey in because of an emergency with a cyst and the emergency Vet clinic felt she was too " aggressive " and wouldn't be able to help her. I called and spoke with the front staff and told them my dilemma, not only were they willing to see her they offered anti anxiety medicine before the visit and even told me after speaking to the Vet she was looking forward to meeting our Jersey. When I arrived they were ready for me and took us back right away. The anxiety medicine didn't even affect our girl so she was shaking and very aggravated. I put a muzzle on her to keep from snapping at the staff. When Dr Spath came into the room she started speaking calmly and directly to Jersey. She got at her level and made friends with her before anything. Not only did she have me remove the muzzle she took the time to understand my dog had an intense fear and after putting her at ease she was able to examine and treat her needle and all without Jersey being upset. I can not thank you enough for understanding not all dogs are ok being taken away and having things done to them without their owners. I can't thank Dr Spath enough for her willingness to allow Jersey to do this on her time line and not Dr Spath's. I will change all of my pets to this Vet Clinic. We finally found caring, compassionate Doctors to lovingly care about our Family Pets. I can't tell you how relieved and happy we are knowing Jersey will be well cared for when she goes. Thank you Dr Spath you ROCK! The front staff were super kind and friendly as well. Great Visit!

Thoroughly impressed by the entire staff. Our new family member had some dental issues and we were told that the nearest professional was up in Seattle --- I was not thrilled. Then we found Dr. Cordray, who joined TVH and has canine dental as one of his specialties. My daughter and I were really happy, and even more so by his "up" attitude, explanations and treatment suggestions. If I could give a "10", TVH would receive it. I LOVE Tumwater Veterinary Hospital. I have five dogs and two cats, so you know I'm in and out a LOT! Excellent care from ALL the vets and ALL the technicians. They have gone above and beyond for my animals many times! They have stayed late for an unexpected surgery, helped me make good decisions for my pets care, and helped me through the inevitable hard decisions when it was time for one of my dogs to go. They are always clear in the information they provide, and follow up on any questions I call in - and with 7 critters in the house, there are definitely questions! ;) And I cannot say enough good things about the reception staff - they maintain positive and supportive attitudes on days when I can see that the patient flow is really heavy and clients are having strong emotions. Over the last 14 or 15 years Dr Bennett and Dr Lina have saved many of my menagerie of chickens, dogs and cats from serious illness and/or injury. Cancer of the spleen (dog), Broke jaw (cat). amputations(cat car accident). Attack of a hawk (chicken) ALL alive because of their skills. At times they had to be very creative, inventive to keep some of them alive. Not every battle fought could be won and yet they were supportive all the way until they were no longer needed. Every staff member from front desk, assistance, and vet tech showed a caring and compassion not seen in most places.. reaching out and lending as much support as I needed. They are my Rock.. I made an appointment for my dogs to be seen. I told receptionist my groomer thought one dog had an infected tick on his stomach. My other dog won’t stop shaking her head and she said she couldn’t see an infection but it might be a tick. I was given a vet tech that could not find a problem with first dog and with second dog could not see a tick in her ear. She stated my dog could have an ear infection. I stated well let’s get the medication. I was told I would have to make another appointment with the vet. I thought I was seeing the vet and was never told I was seeing the vet tech. Am I supposed to diagnose my dog prior to bringing her in and determine who they should see? The vet techs were fine and I am not upset with them. I called and spoke to manager who said well the receptionist just put you in for ticks. Really no apology. Just a you can make another appointment. Her attitude was not one of, we are sorry or let’s fix this problem. It was one of who cares and we accept no responsibility Just make another appointment. Please shoe my email to maggie

I, with a broken heart, had to bring my beloved cat Monkey to her primary vet Monday July 29th when they opened for business at 7:30. Monkey had passed away on me sometime between when I went to sleep at 10 and 2:30 in the morning when I woke up. I walked in to the friendly staff who greeted me by name and asked what they could do for me. Before I could finish my sentence of "I need to find out what killed my cat" they rushed me back into a room and got the Dr. in to see me as quick as they could. I sat in the exam room with Dr. Bennett and Michelle. They stayed with me as I cried and tried explaining what happened. They let me hold her one last time before carefully laying her in a towel and taking her to the back. They never rushed me and even went as far as to tell me to just take my time. They offered to let me leave out the back and Michelle walked with me all the way to my car. She made sure I was able to drive before she headed back inside. The level of care and compassion here is absolutely amazing. I love this place and their staff. Absolutely recommend this vet to anyone who is looking.

I have recently moved to Tumwater and one of the MOST important decisions was to find a new veterinarian. I am extremely particular about the care of my dogs as I have a boy dog with numerous medical issues. Because he has so many medical issues, I have seen many, many veterinarians over the years, so I feel I am a pretty good judge of a good practice versus an average or poor practice. Tumwater Veterinary Hospital has passed with flying colors! My first visit was an unplanned one due to my boy dog being ill. I was concerned at first as I waited in the room for well over a half an hour before the DVM came in. However when she did arrive; the care, attention to detail, and concern for his well-being as well as making sure my questions were answered were all taken care of by Dr. Wachsmuth . I have since had my boy dog there for another unscheduled visit and his littermate sister as well for an ear infection. Both DVM's I have seen at the practice were topnotch. I feel confident that my dogs got and will continue to receive very good care at Tumwater Veterinary Hospital.

I would recommend never using this vet or even frequenting them just even once. They are absolutely soulless and do not have the best interest in your pets well being. They certainly will not go out of their way to help your furry friends.Their only concern is time and money. I have a Husky with two torn ACLs and they have seen her several times, in addition to many other vets. There is a clear diagnoses and problem. Surgery is out of the question for me because of money. Therefore, I spent quite a lot of time trying to get funding for her via organizations that will provide funding. I have been accepted by 2 of them and although that does not allow my dog to get surgery, it would have allowed her to get custom fit braces via a 3rd party company. However, in order to get the funding for the braces, I needed a letter from the vet stating that braces would be a viable option. I called for a month and sent several emails trying to receive this from the vet. On the last day of my deadline to furnish a letter to one of the organizations, I was told by the receptionist that the vet tried calling me numerous times. This was not the case because every time I called and in the emails I sent, my current phone number was provided. They had a month to get back to me and decided to give me their decision on the last day. The reason the receptionist gave me is because they needed to see my dog. It was clear that they were trying to swindle me for more money when my dog already has an extensive amount of paperwork that I provided to them that shows what she suffers from. Not to mention, they have seen her several times and are well aware of the issue.

Dr. Lina did a tight-rope surgery on my Rottweiler about 7 years ago. Excellent care of our baby, surgery successful, after-care at Four Paws was excellent as well. And at the time, we were not clients. When Dr. Dave began working there, we followed him and now take Gracie the Rottweiler and Annie our Dobie/Akita cross to Tumwater Vet on a routine basis. I feel the care is compassionate, everyone I encounter is very friendly and helpful. Great telephone etiquette. Appointments are on time which is important. All is well and good!!

Took my German Shepherd here for 11 years. He drank antifreeze when he was a puppy. Dr. Lina saved his life! She helped him through all the physical trials and tribulations of being a dog...from ear infections to immunizations. I feel like they're family...the whole staff is always wonderful. As we dealt with his end of life issues, Dr. Lina was not only made him comfortable, but was very empathetic toward me. I adore them all and recommend them highly. My husband and I had picked up our new addition, a Cavalier King Charlies puppy. We were required to get him vetted within 5 days so, on the drive back home I called Tumwater Veterinary Hospital and was able to get him an appointment the next afternoon. We arrived at our appointment and I hadn't even made it to the counter when all the "ah a puppy" started -- because who doesnt love a puppy, right? Long story short, everybody loved on him and the doctor was very informative and gentle with him. She answered my questions and made me feel comfortable. I left feeling confident that my husband and I had made a good choice in choosing Tumwater Veterinary Hospital for our puppy's future well visits and emergency medical care. Our previous vet (in Rochester, Wa.) was good with pets but was terrible with their owners. She was condescending and rude. I'm very happy we found Tumwater Veterinary Hospital.

I've watched the business grow from a one doctor practice with a single receptionist that often doubled as a vet tech, to the busy multi-provider clinic it is today. They quickly scheduled an emergency appointment for us. When we arrived the staff were very professional and we were not waiting very long before being seen. We've been using TV for several years, for multiple animals. The prices are reasonable, appointments are easy to get and the staff are all very professional. I can't say enough good things about this place. I had the unfortunate need to put my best friend to sleep after 13 faithful years of friendship. I loved that dog. We went for a quality of life check up, and I was sure they were going to tell me it was hopeless...instead they gave me options on how I might make him more comfortable under his circumstances.No rush, no guilt. Just information and wisdom. After trying all those things, I could tell that he was still in pain and no longer able to do his daily routine like going out to potty and eating. Our family made the painful decision to put him to sleep. When we made our appointment, they were compassionate. When we came in for our appointment they explained the process step by step, no surprises. They made him comfortable and allowed us to stay with him the whole time. He went peacefully to sleep. They were careful and caring with him after death and they gave us the option to take him home. They even made us paw prints for keep sake. I was worried he would freak out and be scared, he wasn't. It was the one bright spot in the whole event. I couldn't be more grateful.

We LOVE this place. They are so kind, thorough and attentive. They invest in the best equipment to make your visit quick and easy. We brought our Lab in because he was limping and breathing funny. They were able to take xrays right there on the spot, take a blood sample, review them with us, let us choose the best option for our pup and our budget, and give him some meds, all within about 45min. Too bad they don't take human patients...lol

On June 20, 2018 we had an emergency with our 9 year old Labradoodle. She had been playing catch with her Chuck-it ball and she accidentally swallowed it and it got stuck in her throat. Unfortunately my kitty was more ill than expected and I had to put her down.. one of the saddest days if my life.. but the staff here was very sweet in my time of despair they did everything to console me and they even offered a paw print service. We have been going to TVH since moving to Olympia 13 years ago. I cannot say enough good things about the doctors and staff working there. The doctors are on top of the latest medical practices, and what I really appreciate is the fact that they all regularly meet to discuss the various cases on which they are working. As a result, we get the benefit of the expertise of the primary care vet as well as the knowledge and expertise of all the vets. In turn, the staff personnel, in all of their respective positions, are equally as knowledgeable in their fields. You will not find a kinder, more caring, sensitive group of people anywhere. By their words and actions you know that they genuinely care about each and every animal that enters the facility. And, just as importantly, they show their caring for the owners as well. I've been super pleased with the care my dogs have received at Tumwater Vet Hospital. The vets we've seen have all been great. I like how they are with the dogs and with the owners too :). I've always felt like they did a good job of explaining the suggested treatment. The techs I've met have been friendly and good with my dogs. The front office staff is friendly and efficient. They've been ready for me at my appointment time--I don't think I've ever had to wait more than a few minutes. The lobby and exam rooms are spotlessly clean. I feel confident taking my pets there and besides that I really like them!

Sadly I have to change my review. It's been very frustrating and disheartening this time around. Cooper has since grown an enlarged prostate. He needed a procedure. We asked for an estimate. We were first quoted 544. Then after having to ask again for an email of this quote we get it at614. Then when we get there we are quoted 644 to 750. We are not bad pet owners. We are trying our best for our pooch with the means we have. Hence why we ask for an estimate. But this constant increase left us unable to help our dog. It's sadly not about your pet there. It's about money. And FYI GET A PRESCRIPTION AND TAKE IT TO A PHARMACY! They are charging you almost 3 times the amount.

I have gone to Dr Bennett pretty exclusively in this office, I challenge anyone to find a kinder and more compassionate vet who really knows his job and cares about your pets. We completely trust him with our beloved pets. He is absolutely wonderful and sweet to our 4 dogs and 1 cat. The staffing is outstanding also, friendly and always very helpful!! I'm sure the other vets are wonderful too! Nothing but excellence in this office!! I know it all sounds corny but we are dead serious.Everyone always is working hard but there is also a friendliness in the air too. Offer conservative and also some surprisingly advanced medical edge techniques & therapies. Have been coming to this place (the old and new) for over a decade. We will not go anywhere else. Horrible day. I found our French Bulldog Fiona in the garage with a brick of rat poison in her mouth. Crumbs on the floor told me she had eaten at least one. I was terrified. I called Tumwater Veterinary Hospital and they had me rush her in. They took us through the back door directly to an exam table in the back. The staff was wonderful- they got a line into her leg, gave meds to induce vomiting. Twice. Each time a large green glob of poison came out. Then 200 cc charcoal slurry. We followed up with another 500 ccs over the next two days. I can't say enough for how much it meant to us. They saved her life. I threw away the remaining poison. She is her old self again. We needed to bring our Rex -rot/German Shepard mix in for ear issues.. he has not needed to see the Dr. for some time as he has been pretty healthy. Even though he is very friendly he can be hard to handle and I expressed my concerns as this was his first time at this facility, they brought us in through the side door and had a room waiting for us.. the staff and the Dr. were amazing and put our minds at ease and answered all our questions. Rex is doing great now! Our Vet is out of town so we needed a closer one and I am so glad we called! However, this is not the first experience with them. They helped us with our precious 17 yr old cat Sherbert and after diagnosed with cancer was there every step and so kind and understanding - I think Rex is looking forward to his check up in a couple weeks he was so loved on! Thank you!

THIS CLINIC IS THE BEST!!! I am not good with putting my thoughts into words and I never write reviews, but I just love this place so much that I had to make myself sit down and write one. The Dr's, vet techs and support staff have always gone "way above and beyond" for me and my "kids". I have gotten phone calls after hours to go over my dog's treatment plan, and have had them stay late just to help me with my "girl" when she was very sick. I can't tell you how much this has meant to me. I know they are a very busy clinic but I have NEVER once felt like we were just another patient to see. They are sincerely concerned and caring and soooo knowledgeable. I would give them way over 5 stars if I could!! Thank you TVH for everything you do and please know that you have made a HUGE impact on my family's lives!!
