I have been going to Terry Animal Hospital for almost a decade. It has steadily been declining in operations over the years. So I will explain some of my experiences for you. - My dog has had problems her whole life. It goes from fine to terrible in the snap of a finger. Which was well documented at the office. One week her health quickly declined. She had a cough that came on very quick. She was not eating and was very lethargic. I had seen this before with my dog. It was pneumonia. I called to bring her in. But they treated her like it was kennel cough. Fine, take precautions, that is understandable. Bring the dog in through the back. Something acceptable. But no, if your dog has a cough, you will receive an “office visit” in the parking lot (full price). A parking lot near a main road, with the railroad only a block away. I expressed to him that we had seen this before. He took note of what I was saying. However, he insisted that it was kennel cough. He prescribed antibiotics and sent us on our way. Later that night, I ended up in the ER. the vet took X-Rays and said it was in fact pneumonia. She was so sick that they thought she may not make it through the night. I had just been to the Terry a few hours earlier. Had they actually done a real examination, not a quick parking lot review, maybe they would have seen just how sick she was and prescribed the appropriate IV and medication. - My cat had something wrong. We didn’t know what it was. He was screaming in pain. So we rushed to the vet. The vet said his blood work was fine. While he was being examined he peed all over the table. The doctor said it must have been a blockage, but it seems to have cleared. No further information was given. So we were grateful our cat was okay and went home. 2 weeks later our cat was doing the same thing. But it was after hours. So we rushed him to the ER. It was another blockage. But this time it was life or death. We had the very expensive procedure done. The ER vet explained to us that cats that have blockages or are suspected of being prone to them should be on a prescription diet. Had our vet made us aware of this my cat may have been able to avoid a life or death situation. We can not know for sure if the prescription diet would have helped. But this was information that should have been shared with us. We had no idea what we were dealing with. - Finally, do not trust any price guarantees they give you. We made an agreement with the owner. If we got our (other) cat fixed with them that they would also remove his eye (enucleation). It was a fixed price. Slightly discounted because we were going to do both with the hospital. Having your cats eye removed is no light matter. He said, when we were ready we could do the eye removal. Until then we would have him on medication. I said what if the medication worked for a few years. He told us not to worry. We had a fair agreement, so I thought. I asked for it in writing but I was guaranteed it was in the notes. I even called to make sure we were still okay over the years. I also asked at visits. My cat was running low on medicine recently and I was feeling an enucleation may be necessary anyway. So I called to set up the appointment. I was informed that they had no record of this. Then when I spoke to the Dr. he was very blunt and unapologetic in informing me, he doesn’t do that surgery anymore. So we basically threw out hundreds of dollars getting our cat fixed at a very overpriced rate for nothing. He should have never made the agreement in the first place. Also, on one of the many visits I was there for anyone of my pets they could have told me to get the surgery before it was made unavailable. To be fair, I had been going a little less over the years because of the really bad experiences. But this was not right. Update: looking at the mess of medical records I see now that the doctor in fact made me the professional. I forget when I went to veterinary school. But it clearly states that I recommended getting the cat fixed at 6 months, not him. Very disappointing.

I can't say enough how wonderful this practice is. My family has been using Terry Animal Hosptial since the 1980's, and the staff and doctors are just amazing. The care and compassion is second to none.

It was ok. Went for 2nd opinion. Vet was good but couldn't find notes from visit as it was needed in order to be reimbursed by insurance company. In addition, office visit was more expensive than my regular vet.

Kind and caring vets, especially Dr. John Foy was one of the best vets I've seen when it comes to handling cats, they were kind and made sure all my concerns were addressed when I had my cat's lump inspected. I would definitely recommend this business to take care of your extended family.

I have been going to Dr. Terry's for many years but after my last experience and treatment from Dr. Perrier, I have left permanently and will NEVER return again! I intend to spread the word to everyone I know that has an animal! I had brought my pet in for an exam and knew my beloved was old and losing weight but seemed to have a healthy appetite regardless. Dr. Perrier just blurted out in an angry annoyed tone " He's dying!" He had no tact at all. He displayed no regard to the feelings of an owner who loves their animal more than life. He was insensitive, heartless and unsympathetic. He showed no compassion whatsoever. I was spoken to in such a respectful manner by Dr. Perrier and was told to go find another vet when I questioned about my pets healthy eating. Usually animals stop eating and hide when they are dying which mine was not doing. Of course, I was hoping that my pet was not dying. Dr. Perrier didn't seem to appreciate anyone questioning his authority. He was just plain rude! I do like Dr. Foy very much but can NOT bring my business to this veterinary hospital any longer. I now go to another vet and love the bedside manner I receive at this wonderful new vet. Plus it's less expensive!!! A nice plus! Not only do I find Dr. Perrier unpleasant but his staff are also unfriendly, curt and downright unpleasant as well. So happy I left this place.

My 2 star rating has ZERO percent to do with almost all of the staff. THEY ARE AMAZING AND WORKING HARD every time we go in there- The problem with this place is the owner! At first i ignored how rude the main doctor was and chalked it up to a bad day..... Until my most recent visit. I was there a few times with my cousin recently and watched him berate multiple staff members in front of us!! What?!?! Im not even sure he was yelling about work related things bcuz im pretty sure he demanded one of them leave early to go run an errand for him....so confusing. What goes on there? One time the other room had clothing all over it and the last time i was there he was in his pajama pants!! What doctor does that?? So unprofessional!! Are my animals safe in this chaos?? The rest of the staff are excellent so this is actully a sad thing that i had to write this review. Somebody needs to talk to this guy, i dont know how long my cousin is going to put up with it. I had an emergency today with my three-month-old mini golden doodle, and Dr. Foy ( my usual vet there) was in ( on a Sunday ), and took care of him in an instant. I've been there a total of three times since getting my puppy, and each time Dr. Foy amazes me! When it comes to animals, Dr. Foy is knowledgeable, caring, and compassionate. Another plus is my puppy loves him! I'm so super thankful that we've found a vet that is caring! I've heard so many horror stories about vets that truly do not care... this is not the case with the people at Terry. If you have a new furry friend, please go here! Thanks again, Dr. Foy! I'm so entirely happy and grateful !!

I just recently (within the past 3 months or so) transferred to Terry Animal Hospital from Hilton on the recommendation of members of various animal groups on Facebook. I care for over 20 cats, many of them feral, and it takes a special kind of vet to handle them. Dr. Foy is that kind of vet. There's a reason they call him "the Cat Whisperer". I have seen him handle even the wildest cats so gently and kindly that they didn't even require sedation to be examined. Unreal! And because of this, he has prevented these cats from being unnecessarily sedated and me from paying the additional associated costs. More importantly, he calms these poor frightened animals so that the experience is not so traumatic for them (and me!). Working with animals is clearly not just a job for Dr. Foy, but a calling. He truly is amazing. I've also seen Dr. Raimondi a couple of times. She too is very gentle and caring and soft-spoken. And the staff and vet techs are absolutely wonderful!! My only issues with Terry Animal Hospital are that they are no longer open on Sundays, and that they don't give a multi-pet discount. With 20+ cats, I could use any help I can get, but considering the quality of care they provide and the fact that they are one of the few remaining privately owned veterinary hospitals around (most are now owned by investment companies that are ONLY interested in maximizing profits for their investors rather than the health of animals), I understand, and it's worth it.
