I brought my ferret hair when she was starting to lose her hair. I couldn't afford to do a blood test to see if she had adrenal disease. We waited cuz it might have been a climate change. When I saw my ferret was losing more hair. They worked with me in starting treatment. They're very kind and compassionate and know a lot about ferrets. I've been seeing vets for ferrets for over 10 years and by far this has been the best veterinarian. Highly recommended.

Sincere, honest and friendly! I first brought in my Pomeranian for a second opinion on her cough and dental issues. She is 11 years old and our baby! My first impression was wonderful, and after meeting and talking with their female dr I was assured I came to the right place! Grace had her dental cleaning yesterday and they called along the way to let me know how she was doing, and called the next morning to make sure she was ok. We are very pleased with the entire office and how they put our pet as their #1 priority! Also, we were previously quoted $700-950 for the SAME work at another office... at MWAH we only paid just over $400! Thank you for doing a fabulous job with our girl!!

When I moved here over a year ago, this was the first vet I tried. It was a complete disappointment. First of all the main lobby is not very pleasant and what made it even worse was the front desk staff. I have never seen such unprofessionalism. They were cold with absolute pathetic looks on their faces as I approached for my very first visit. While I waited they were busy complaining about things. I also had a terrible experience with the vet and vet tech who seemed like they didn't know anything at all. I was so upset after this experience being in a new town with a sick dog that needed proper vet care. Luckily I found Northshore Vet and my prayers were answered.

Maplewood Animal Hospital is not only affordable, but the staff are the nicest group of people I've ever met at an Animal Hospital (I've been to a lot in the past). Maplewood is my go-to when there's a problem with my hamster or my puppy. They've been in my family for quite a while now helping us every step of the way. When I was informed that my hamster had cancer, they told me they could remove it and it would be gone. It sounded too good to be true at the time but I would've done anything for my hamster, so I gave them the Okay. It's been a couple weeks since the surgery and my hamster is back to normal; running around, eating normally, etc. I'm so thankful that Maplewood came to my rescue and saved my hamster. To summarize Maplewood; they have amazing costumer service, the best trained Veterinarians/animal doctors, affordable prices, and perfect results.

We've been going here for 13 year's with our cat Sophie, she received the best care right down to the end of her life. The staff, was caring and help answer questions to everything I could possibly need to know. Even though our cat had passed in her box they took her back to just make sure. They gave us a room to sit in and grieve in and they help me with the choice of dealing with her remains. About a week later we received a condolences card, with her paw print on it. We waited 15 month's to adopt another kitten, and I know we will get the best care for her too.

My experience there was amazing. I came in with a very scared cat and had worried all prior to the visit. I dont think it could have been a better visit. She didnt even hiss once and everything was handled quickly but with care. I have no idea how they got her to behave so well, it was like watching magic. My furbaby was coughing really bad when we moved back to the area & I was trying to figure out why. I went to a vet that was recommended in Ferndale & was told that she was probably coughing from nervousness being in a new environment. Well the days went on & she continued to get worse, so I researched vets online & decided to try Maplewood... I was NOT disappointed. Dr Burgmeuller (spelled incorrectly I'm sure lol) is amazing. She found that my dogs trachea was collapsing & found a growth in her lung, which was super saddening news but thank goodness we know what is going on. I highly recommend this veterinary clinic, everyone seems to be extremely knowledgeable, professional, & kind!

I came in in a near panic attack state because my pup, whom I normally sedate before a vet trip, had a mesh muzzle on for the first time and nails that (by my own fault admittedly) were way too long and she ripped two of them out trying to get the muzzle off. My dog was in my arms bleeding and we both were tripping out but your staff was so amazing, helped me take a few deep breaths and they took Gypsy back and fixed her paw up and did most of the exam while they were back there dealing with her nails so it was less traumatic for us both. A long time ago, I was the next door neighbor to Dr. Rabkin, though I hardy knew him. The dog came up lame late one Sunday afternoon - so I asked for some help. I thought he would advise on palliative care until Monday morning. Instead, he went back in, put a cast on the leg, and only charged for the X-Rays (which were not free to him). This is the attitude there ! We have been back with two other dogs and three other cats since. All the staff are great. I wish all people put their heart into their jobs this way

I have been to several vets around Whatcom county. Maplewood has been the most honest and I feel the most comfortable there. I appreciate being given options but am never made to feel bad if I do not choose the most expensive ones. My baby Chihuahua broke her toes. She is in a vet wrap cast. It gets dirty or she finds a way to chew it. Even wearing a cone of shame. Once she even pulled it off. The people at Maplewood have helped me by putting on a new wrap, recasting her, explaining how to keep it dry. They have always answered my questions. Every time I have had to bring her in,they have handed her back with a smile and said, "Thanks for bringing her in, there is no charge".Bringing Twinkie in the first time for her broken toes was not cheap. I did not expect it to be. Nor did I expect follow up cast care to be done without cost either. I like the way Twinkie and I are treated by the people at Maplewood. I could go to a "discount" vet for some services. I want Maplewood to be there for us. I will continue to bring my small animals there for their care. I recommend them to all my friends and family.

This place was not very accommodating. I waited as three people helped one person. Helped is a strong word for what was going on. They charged and cancelled the charge her card at least three times because of clerical errors. I was ignored the whole time I stood at the counter. I interrupted and asked if they were taking new patients. The only answer I received was that there is a 2 week waiting period. Off to Banfield I go.

This place saved my cat, which has only been with me for a week. She was a feral who had been hit by a car and for months no one noticed or cared that she needed major surgery. I only got her recently and noticed some very odd things she was doing, so I set up an appointment with Maplewood after reading some amazing reviews. I'm a poor college student and they worked with me to set up a payment plan because they knew the surgery had to be done soon, otherwise she might have died and I had no money to pay for everything upfront like I wished I could have. They have helped with medication, giving great advice to keeping my cat healthy and they call everyday to check up on her and make sure she is healing alright. I definitely trust them all to take care of my cat and any other future pets I might have!

We have been "patients" of Dr Rabkin's for almost 10 yrs. He helped us with the most difficult decision we have ever had to make...letting our baby go when it was time, as well as diagnosing and recommending excellent specialists for elbow displasia (sp?). Having come from a community where veterinary care was influenced by local university stature (dollars spent while in the office directly reflecting that) I feel very comfortable knowing that Dr Rabkin's passion for his patients supersedes all else. I highly recommend his care for your fur-baby.

Recently our Schanuzer got sick late in the evening - upon calling the next morning when he wasn't feeling any better, Maplewood had me bring him in right away. After some tests were done, it was determined that Willy had pancreatitis. Dr. Burgmuller was absolutely fantastic, from explaining what pancreatitis is and the causes, to what she would be doing to treat Willy, as well as keeping him all day to monitor his progress.
