Great people and very caring
They were especially quick with the shots.
Ya'll took Great care of
Vet never introduce herself to me concentrating on "baby talk" with my dog. Exam was poor. No ear check and never looked in her mouth or at her teeth. Will not use again.
Best place to take your fur babies for their checkups and other medical needs and emergencies. Dr. Marker and his staff are the best!
They do love your animals!
Very friendly staff the facility was clean and we were treated very well as were our pets
Doctor Amanda and the desk staff are AWESOME!! They empathize with my melty heart, and have been nothing but supportive and understanding. They even let me cry at length. I could have used a hug, though, because I get distraught with some of the health issues the kitties have to face. Thanks, everybody!!
They are very caring
Grate people, make you feel like family
I worked for a vet in the past and Jackson Hwy Vet Clinic gets my 5 star rating for professionalism and he compassion and gentleness of the doctor is amazing. The clinic is so clean and actually smells good.
Wonderful, knowledgeable staff. Good prices. My pets love them and I do too! My dog lives them so much he lays on them!
We had an emergency so called this vet as they are the closest to our house. They got us right in and took excellent care of our dog. She was there for several days and received a lot of attention from the staff there. It is clean and doesn't smell. They have a private yard you can take your pet into and they encourage visits if your pet is there. Whenever I called to check in they never made me feel like I was interrupting or disturbing them. Plus they have coffee and water bottles in the roomy lobby!
Friendly caring staff! They genuinely love the furbabies!
Best place to take your pet.
This is the best place to take your furry friends when they need a doctor to see. Dr markers and Dr Amanda are both amazing and your fur babies will not be worried
Love the staff. They were sweet and patience with my whiny little whimp...Odie! Our elderly Miss Maggie knew the smells and jiddered the whole time.
Great docs
The staff here are very good at their jobs. They really know what they are doing. They are with your pet and it is obvious that they care for and about their patients. The doctors there are the greatest at working with your pet and with you, too. I will most definitely be going back there next time that we need veterinary care for one of our beloved pets.
They are a very kind and compassionate Veterinary Clinic. I consider my babies just as if they're my children and I wouldn't take them anywhere else. I'm so thankful to have them in my area
Great people
Great people
Great clinic with positive staff members that truly care! Beautiful facility, and grounds. Highly recommend.
I have been taking my animal here for years. They just recently fixed my dogs leg that got hit by a car. Both Drs. gave me options and made it easy to decide how to get Rex back and running. Thanks JHVC.
I enjoyed the staff there. My dog was calm and comfortable throughout the whole exam! That really Surprised me!
Nice clean building, very helpful people who like animals and their jobs.
Love this place and Dr. Marker and staff are fabulous. Our entire family of fur babies go here.
A great vet that actually cares about animals
They are so popular that there can be a long wait time. That is the only complaint, so...
They are awesome
Very nice people good with my pets
Had to take our 17 year old dog in to have her cross the rainbow Bridge. They were very professional and caring about the difficult. situation if I lived up there I would use them for my other pets have a good day
The best !
Inexpensive and quality service
Dr Marker is a great vet
Best veterinary ever
Very good experience here. Took in two cats that are part of Just Care Animal Rescue in Oakville. They are older cats that were rescued. Dr. Dale and his staff were very nice. Excellent care in handling the two cats. Prices were very reasonable.
Nice people
Took my lab in 1st time..skin and ear problems. They were really nice. $280. 1 week passed. Got a check up call from dr. Told her needed more spray for skin..she said ok. And to pick it up. Got no call when it was ready. Continued with ear meds. One side better. Called again to get more...for the one ear. Was to it was a med and she would call later....no call. Called the next morning and asked about getting more for their diagnosis . Now wanted to re see her and more$ for visit. I asked for owner...he came on . refuse to ever see my dog and sending her records to me. Really care about the animal.....dont think so. Vets are like buses.
Absolutely amazing!!! Not only are they affordable they also make sure fur babies are taken care of an follow up to see how they are doing:-)
Was the nicest vet place ive been to
Treat you and your furries like family!
Very friendly and reasonably priced
This vet might be good, I don't have any words that are positive to say about here. My lil girl. ( Alli Mar) died four days ago cuz they failed to run a toxin test and wouldn't let me bring her back in, when my daughter, my mom and I called three different days and to the very she was not getting better. The vet kept telling us" to continue to give her the antibiotics she had an injection" 13 days after seeing the vet the first and only time, Alli Mae died of decon. She's be here today if the vet would have done a toxin test. That would be first thing to run, when you say she is puking up form.
Always friendly and helpful
Caring, compassionate, professional staff from start to finish.
Their nice people but they killed my dog Dr. Amanda gave her a radio graph after i told her she might have ingested dry wall cause she hadn't ate or pooped in a week and told me there was no blockage and that she had worms put her on worm meds which she threw up for 3 days before Dr.Amanda told me to bring her in for a xray to make sure there wasn't no blockage and she died in my damn arms pooping blood from the internal blockage that night now why the hell didn't she give her the damn xray in the first place after i told her she had ate dry wall and didnt poo or eat in a week ! Did the xray not fit the budget of saving my dogs life cause i only had $300 cash ? Why does the vet charge $225 for a xray when a regular doctor only charges $50 ? Why do we trust these types of people with our animals lifes and our lifes and our childrens lifes when all they're in their proffesion for is to make money off of people and could care less about anything else !
This place cares only about the money not the pet would not treat my beloved
This place disappoints me. I am disabled, been with this vet for 2 years, always pay, usually have credits , notes on the account about being disabled, and to call my wife if needed. They know me. After calling them about my dogs head injury at 10:00 am, they told me to come back at 3:45pm, I said no,it is an emergency, they said come back at 3:45. I went anywhay, got a call from them as I was pulling in. They said they would come out and just look. 10 minutes later, nothing. I ultimately ended up in a private room with the office manager and her employee. Very awkward for a man. She didn't listen to me about what happened, and didn't try to help. She was obviously covering up how they acted. I explained to her I am disabled, help me out here. She didn't care. I said,I am done with you, and left the room. She met me at the counter and told me I am going to have to ask you to leave. OMG. I was finishing up with the very nice lady, thank you for being kind as always. This lady was aggressive, in my face, and mean. I asked for personal space 3or 4 times, to no avail. I AM THE MANGER, you leave. I WAS discriminated against, and hurt. This was the first time something like this has ever happened to me, I ended up calling the MS society for counseling, thank God for them. I don't understand why this lady did what she did. They could have avoided all this, with a positive helpful attitude. Now I get to start over again. I actually liked this group. Great vets, horrible front office manager. Why did this lady put me in a room with another lady? I was all alone 2 against 1, childish. I felt bullied. Shame on you lady.
I love these guys! They have been taking care of my pets since 3/2012 just after we moved up here.
I come from Rochester and I would not take my animals any where but Jackson Hwy Vet! They are loving and caring for your fur baby's and treat you with respect. I have a dog I took and I was crying so hard because I thought I would have to put her down my little Sophie's a wienner dog and she hurt her back. They said let's give her a CHANCE they put her on meds and we kenneled her to keep her mobility to very little, they called to find out how she was doing! TO make a long story short I still have my Sophie when others wanted to put her down.
The was nice and friendly
Great staff and caring doctors.
This vet clinic is absolutely one of the best ever. I've been going to Dr. Dale Marker for 15 years. I have cats and chow chows. Hes treated chronic conditions in my pets that have granted them years of life they might not have had otherwise. Hes done spays on big female dogs with tiny little incisions. I had a stray with a pyro that he took into surgery immediately saving her life as it burst on extraction. The wealth of knowledge this ver has is so refreshing. He also seems very current on studies and new treatments. Dr. Dale also doesnt hesitate to use herbal supplements if they will support as well or better than meds. Donna Marker is a warm compassionate caring woman who has added artistic touches all over the office making it incredibly welcoming. I love seeing her at the clinic because she always is friendly to everyone. Debbie and the office ladies and vet techs feel like family. They always greet us by name. They are incredibly helpful. Dr. Amanda is amazing with scared cats and dogs and has a way with animals that even our standoffish chow chows let her take a look or give shots. I love her explanations of medical situations. Dr. Renee is a cat lovers dream. She loves them. They love her. Is she part cat? I wonder.... because shes just amazing. And shes honestly the type you want the facts from. She tells it like it is. I'm really on board with her personality. And my cats get great care. And though always heartbreaking, the end of life care here is exceptional. I cant say enough good about this clinic. They are a big part of our animals lives.
Had a cat fixed. Priced around and it was the lowest and my cat was ok with the place . I prefer it to Timberland.
Great staff
Dr. Marker has been our vet for years. Highly recommended!!!
Great Vets and staff
Friendly people
Nice people
They are a full staff of great experienced and knowledgeable veterinarian and assistants. Clean environment, friendly, they are there for you.
Pets are priority number one!
10 stars!
Great environment
Dr. Amanda and her staff are wonderful. My skittish cat, who doesn't like many people, actually let her touch her without hissing or hiding and let her do a complete exam and shots. All the staff are professional and very caring.
The staff is amazing... Didn't have an appointment and got me right in with my furbaby... Thank you so much for caring and helping me through this tough time...
Love the care my dog gets and the people.
They took Excellent care of my animals.
NEVER leave your precious baby overnight here! I took my two dog in to them as soon as they show any distress. Honey, a 14 year old, was coughing and was kind of gagging throughout the night. Pie, a 10 year old, was whining in her sleep but had no other symptoms. These two are part of my family of four dachshunds, the other two were fine. The tech checked both dogs with no problems. When the vet (Amanda) came in later Pie barked. Anyone ever having anything to do with this breed knows they are barkers and Pie is very talkative. She examined Honey first and said she heard a lot of crackling thought it was pneumonia. Prescribed antibiotics. No offer of x rays or checking for anything else. She refused to examine Pie without a muzzle on her. Pie was the most gentle sweet dog on the planet but since I was worried about her I put the muzzle on her. She did a brief exam suggested X-rays, which I agreed to. Turned out that she had a belly full of rocks, needed surgery. We made the arrangements for the surgery the next day. Took Honey home with us. I said to them repeatedly "whatever they need," "you can call 24 hours a day my phone is always with me." That night Honey got worse I called and they said bring her in gave me a in the day appointment. I asked them to X-ray her and give her fluids. The X-rays came back with an enlarged heart, we were given heart meds and sent home with her. She may have lived had she been started on Ned's the day we took her in. When asked about Pie she had come through surgery fine and was recovering. Honey died that night. With her age and the fact that she had many health problems her whole life we were saddened but didn't expect her to live forever. They called us as we were burying her told us, "Pie is a little anemic and we want to keep her overnight for OBSERVATION." At no time were we told she would be left alone overnight. Had we known that we NEVER would have left her. I have spent thousands of dollars on my dogs over the years and would have spent whatever was needed to ensure their safety and well being. Pie died alone sometime in the night, when we called to find out what time to pick her up we were told of her death. To add insult to injury we received a letter, 3days after their death, from them saying how they hoped we had good memories of them. Oh and if you don't pay the bill off in 60 days they will take legal action. I have not paid the bill as of yet because I have been crying almost nonstop over the loss of Pie. She was so much more than a "pet" she was family. She even saved my life once. I will never forgive them for leaving her alone. Had they once told us that they leave them alone Pie never would have been allowed to stay. I could have taken care of her or taken her to the emergency 24 vet for care. They killed my baby!
We've taken our pets to JHVC for nearly 5 years for most of their preventative, curative and the rare emergency care and have found staff, techs and vets to be excellent every time. They are informative, cheerful (when appropriate), and respectful and provide options for our pets and their care. Even for end of life care for our prior 14 year old large dogs. Our current pets seem to enjoy them too! When it comes to vaccinations, and general office visits, I choose JHVC over our other vet, Banfield in Portland because of the great service and LOWER prices. Yes, substantially lower prices than big city vets. The only exception I have found is Dental Care. JHVC is more expensive than going to Vancouver, WA to the exceptional pet dentists ForeverPets for oral care and extractions, and our dog has had plenty of breed specific oral issues requiring many extractions, and I highly recommend them for specialty veterinary oral care. Otherwise for general care and emergencies, JHVC is top dog in my book! P.S. JHVC is a vet CLINIC, not a VETERINARY HOSPITAL. Clinics in general do not have staff on site overnight, whereas Vet Hospitals often do. I hope this helps with your decisions on where to get care for your precious pets.
They were very personable as well as thorough. Polite and affordable with many payment options.
Took me right in for an emergency! Gr8 care & loving staff!❤
My all time favorite vet, they have taken care of my 3 cockers for a long time. Excellent people, very caring of your pet.
The staff is very sweet and understanding. They most definitely care for their patients
We work hard to maintain great medicine at a moderate price
Just picked up my cat after getting her spayed at Jackson Hwy Vet Clinic and the whole experience was so amazing. The staff was so friendly and made us feel right at home. Can't wait to get my other fur baby in next month. Thanks for everything JHVC
Very informational, and caring.
Best bet this area
I love this place. Dr. Amanda is great with all of the pets.
Super clean. Love the staff.
Good people
Super friendly, greeted my fur kids by name
Great friendly staff, service fantastic & Knowledgeable. Dr Ford is one of the best I've had attended our dog.
All staff n Drs treat all animals with care n concern
Jackson Hwy Vet Clinic took great care of us today. Had to put our dog to sleep and they handled our difficult situation with compassion. Thank you.
Wonderful place to go, I have showed up unexpectedly with my sick kitty and they got me in right away and took care of her! Very caring staff, warm and loving attitude towards patients and are kind and patient with human owners.
Very good with animals
Wonderful staff and so interested in the pets under their care. My sweet 10 month old kitten had to have surgery after a stray dog bite to his face. The vet shared his concern and helped me understand the treatment.
Dr. Marker treats my cat like one of his own. He is great. Dr. Amanda also is very kind & helpful. All the staff are very friendly. Would recommend very highly.
I highly reccomend this vet. We would not take our dog anywhere else.
Such a great clinic! The vets and staff have so much compassion and care for my pets and grady communicating with me about what's going on with them. I don't trust my 4 legged family members to anyone else!
We’ve taken both our pups here super recently, and neither of them are very good patients. Dr. Amanda and all the rest of the staff are extremely patient and friendly, and great with our nervous dogs. Services are reasonably priced and we will absolutely recommend Jackson Hwy to others and be bringing our dogs back!
Very good veterinary
Amanda is great
This is not our usual vet, but we brought in our min pin for a check up after being attacked. They let us know of where we could park our semi so we could come in on very short notice. They were extremely friendly, accommodating, and empathetic to our situation. The vet we saw (I'm so so sorry I cannot remember her name) was an older lady who was AMAZING. If I ever moved up here, yall would be my first choice! Thank you for what yall did for us
Wonderful people.
Best staff in Lewis County, best Vets and comprehensive care. They saved my dogs life and I am forever grateful!
Nice place
They were kind, respectful, and very awesome helping me with my cat. They even checked in with my cat after she was better. I highly recommend this vet.
Our dog was very frightened they really made our old dog more calm
Friendly and simple. Costly but good service. Clean.
Very accommodating. Deeply concerned about each pet.
Very compassionate!
Prior to coming to Jackson Hwy vet, I took all of our beloved pets to Ford's praire, I'd had a few bad experiences there but none that compared to our very last trip, we were told our oldest family member needed to put put down, The owner was heartless, without emotion and no simpothy, he came in a stock a needle in her vain, walked out as lost her bowls all over the place laying and a cold hard floor I went out to tell the receptionist she simply said it fine, no-one came to clean up, this was the Worst experience of my life. I decided to start looking for another vet and found Jackson HWY soon after another one of our babies reached his old age and was no longer eating, we called to set up the appointment thinking this was going to be another very bad day, however as we got there and went into the room there was a big comfy blanket on the floor, the vet came in and you could see the sadness in her eyes, like she truly cared and understood what we were about to go through, they sedated him to make him comfortable and left us to love on him, about 15 minutes later she returned to check on him and let us know exactly what to expect, then gave him the shot in his vain to stop his heart as he peed they were cleaning him the vet was supportive and caring throughout the entire process, They made a horrible situation, bearable. I cant thank them enough for how they handled our beloved pet, and making us feel truly loved and cared for as if we are apart of there family.. Thank You all from the bottom of our hearts.
Very caring, friendly and compassionate individuals, Doctors and staff.
Always treat us like we are the only customers
This place is amazing..Took my kitten tbete yesterday ..what a staff who really cares..we will be back! ;)
Was looking for a "hometown" vet since ours retired, and that is exactly what we got! Staff that was welcoming, Dr. Amanda was wonderful and caring, and a follow up call from Dr. a few days later! I cannot rave enough about them!
Nice place very big clean high prices and odd there were no customers there. Timberland vet always lots of customers
They are awesome!
$100 got me about 5 minutes with the vet. They asked for an additional $200 for an xray and splint. I could have just bought the splint for far less. Now I can't afford the splint and I feel stupid
Friendly staff. Dr Amanda has been very good with my not very well socialized German Shepherd & can now easily examine her.
I would give 10 stars if that was an option. The doctors and staff are so competent, thorough, kind and compassionate. I brought in my dear old dog Zoe who was near the end of her long life, and Dr. Marker, Dr. Renee and Dr. Amanda gave her excellent care. Debbie is also very kind and understanding. They kept in touch with me daily, took the time to explain things to me, treated Zoe with respect and love. and helped me eventually say goodbye to her. My heart is still broken, but I am eternally grateful for the treatment they gave us both.
My dog goes there
They treated us amazing! I won't take my dog Rambo anywhere else. Service was great! They were kind, friendly, and on top of things. They took great care of Rambo and it showed when they brought him out for me to take home. He wanted the vet tech to love on him and pet him and she did just that. In a min he chewed through his leash and the vet tech put a new one on him. The vet came out and even chatted with me for a min. Nice, good hearted people who love what they do work here. Oh and I was impressed how clean and and organized the waiting room and the room was. Thank you for taking such good care of Rambo!
I’m not normally one to blast any business on social media, as I understand that everyone has good AND bad days, but in this case I just can’t bite my tongue. Two weeks ago I brought my pregnant dog for an x-ray to count puppies. Since this was her first pregnancy, I wanted to know how many she was having so that I could be reassured that she wasn’t having any complications giving birth to large-headed pug mixes. When I scheduled the appointment over the phone, I asked how much they would charge me for their services and I was flat out told $68. Upon arriving, I was told that they were busy due to surgery on a very large dog and Im not at all exaggerating when i say we were in AND out all within 30 minutes. This was her very first visit to this clinic so that’s including paperwork, wait time, exam, x-ray, analysis, and the doctor speaking to me about what he found. I was told that she was in fact NOT pregnant, that it was either a false pregnancy or a cyst on her ovaries. My dog is very small so anybody who spent more than 2 minutes with her could’ve told you that she was very pregnant, but since they’re the experts, I took their answer and moved on. I was charged $113 for our visit after initially being told $68. When I asked why, they told me that there was apparently an added exam fee that I was not aware of, but whatever. I paid it and moved on because I figured they gave me the answers I needed anyways. Fast forward to this Monday, my dog gave birth to SEVEN healthy sized pups! I don’t understand how that large of a litter was missed on an x-ray, but I get that they were busy, probably rushed, and mistakes happen. I’m just glad that my dog didn’t tire and quit pushing them out. She did amazing. I called today to see if they would be willing to make the situation right and either A.) refund me the money they charged to give me false information, or B.) Look over the puppies to confirm that they are all healthy and okay. I was put on hold for a few minutes, and when the receptionist came back, she flat out told me that my dog was not pregnant at the time the x-ray way completed.... SO YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT MY DOG WASNT PREGNANT WITH A LITTER OF 7 PUPPIES TWO WEEKS AGO??? She told me she would be right back and again placed me on hold. When the line picked back up, it was the doctor, and he said that the x-ray was “performed too early” at 38 days which is impossible. My dog was mated on the 16th and 17th of April. As this wasn’t a “planned” pregnancy, I immediately took my dog to my mothers house to stay since I was moving out in two weeks anyways and when I originally scheduled the appointment I explained to the receptionist the situation and she helped me figure out what day exactly she would finally be ready to have the x-ray done. I wasn’t angry about it, I just wanted them to make he situation right! The doctor quickly interrupted me to tell me that either way he wasn’t going to refund me and let me go. This was my very first AND my very last experience with Jackson Highway Vet Clinic as I will absolutely not be bringing my dog back to such a negligent doctor.
My new vet for my pets a good place and is excepting new customers
Very knowledgeable Drs. Also great bedside manner.
worst experience ever in my life. my poor dog was injured very badly, I go in asking for help. they first tell me they need to get a room ready to look at him and they will send someone out with a stretcher to help me get him inside. A lady comes out i think to look at him but instead she tells me that if the damage is in his stomach or too bad then they don't have the equipment to do that kind of surgery and I will have to take him to an animal hospital. I understood that, not all local veterinary clinics are set up for that kind of surgery. she went inside and I stayed by my car waiting for the room to be ready and help to carry in my dog. I waited outside for 40 min in the hot sun with my poor dog. I finally went inside to ask if the room was ready and the lady puts her hands up at me and says "we are turning you away"...really? you cant do an x-ray or help me at all? and if not why couldn't you tell me this earlier rather then making me wait outside in the sun? I understand maybe not having equipment to help me but tell me that. don't tell me your helping me and then change your mind and not communicate with me. I seriously was left out there thinking someone was coming. They should have told me from the get go that they couldn't do anything. instead they lie and tell me they are getting a room ready and sending out someone to help me....ridiculous!!
Dr Marker, Donna and Debbie started taking care of our furry family members about 15 years ago now I think. Their staff has grown tremendously as well as their facility. These are amazing people that really care about the animals and the people that love them. They have laughed with us, cried with us and kissed on our animals with us. Dr Marker lays on the floor and loves on the animals and you can really see he cares. We have lost some of our pets and it never gets easier. The compassion they show and the outstanding care they give here is beyond what I can describe. Their practice has grown tremendously which shows I am not the only one that has spread the word. I tell everyone that is looking for a vet to go to Jackson Highway. I can’t say enough good about them. I have had a few appointments with Dr Amanda so I am getting to know her a little more as well. The animals really love her too. She sits on the floor too and loves on her patients. We love the staff. I especially appreciate it when Debbie answers the phone and knows all of our animals without having to look them up in the computer. I don’t know how she does it but she does! As we get to know each of the additions to the staff, it just reinforces why we have this as our family vet! Love you all! Thank you for loving our pets too.
Very nice veterinarian there. My pug just loved her and she took very good care of him. The pricing is a little competitive. But all in all I was satisfied with the treatment of my pug.
Dr. Hilbiber, aka Dr. Renee, is the best vet my 2 dogs have seen. This also includes veterinarian's in Cowlitz County WA. She cares, she is patient, listens & she explains every prognosis & diagnosis. I trust her with my babies & they are comfortable with her. If your searching for a great vet, you can stop here.
Fun and was cleanwith friendly people.
I have been going here since 2004. They have always been kind and considerate to both of us as well as my pets. We all have been treated like family.
I brought my 17 year old dog/boy/son to them to take care of an abscessed tooth. They did blood work and found out he is in kidney failure. They were courteous kind and compassionate. I am so thankful that I brought Skipper to them. They have helped me out so that my buddy will have the best care.
The most caring group of people ever. We have been taking our animals here for years. I highly recommend Dr. Marker and his associates!
Very nice and professional
Amazing service amazing staff so compassionate and caring!
They were there for us when we had to put our dog down Annie bell. They made it as easy as possible and gave us a nice bag to burry her in.
This is the best Veterinary Clinic in Lewis County or the surrounding area. The doctors truly care about your pet or animal as if it were their own. I have a medium size dog, they get on the floor and play with her to make sure she is at ease. They discuss all the options for treatment with you and help you come to the best decision for your pet.
Super friendly, very knowledgeable! Found a solution for my crazy calico who tried to take on attack a sweet German Shepherd through her kennel
Excellent vet, very knowledgeable.
Caring knowledgeable staff and great doctor.
Great vets and caring staff but i requested my pets files be faxed and finally had to stop in and get them by hand.
Great place kind and affordable
I have gone to this vet for almost 5 years. I have had a lot of good experiences over this time but it only takes one bad experience, which I had yesterday. I took both of my cats in for their yearly check and shots. My oldest cat was upset and I hadn't time to remove her before the 1st vet tech came in. She put her face a little too close to the carrier opening, was smacked in the face and did get a little wound that bled. She promptly left and a new vet tech and vet Amanda came in. I had removed my cat from the carrier at this point because she's no longer a threat when she's not confined. I was a little bothered by the fact that they brought in a blanket to wrap her upper body and head in for the remainder of the appt but due to the fact that she had lashed out at the other gal I just let it go. That was their choice and I did understand. This was my first time meeting Amanda and she seemed nice. We discussed the future tactics for my cranky kitty and although I was still bummed that they weren't really paying attention to the fact that she was "cornered" when she lashed out I agreed and moved on. She's never had an incident in 4.5 years and she been far angrier and crabby in the past but since she wasn't in the carrier at those times she just voiced her attitude but never lashed out. My youngest cat got his vaccines without incident and I went home. It took me 15 minutes to get home and not long after getting in the house he started acting funny. Pacing, licking his nose and swallowing very quickly over and over. He started howling and at first it was the usual warning of him getting ready to puke. But then his yowl changed and he started convulsing in a scary way. Not at all the normal heaves before vomiting. He then vomited while screaming which was the final indication something was terribly wrong. Ive never seen a cat vomit so violently or loudly. I immediately called the office and was told to go to an emergency clinic because they were getting ready to leave. I had asked what vaccines he was given because the invoice only listed "rabies, leukemia, etc." No medication names. I was told that they did not know but could figure it out and call me later. "Sorry, good luck at the emergency vet though." I do understand that they were about to close but it felt very very callous to answer the phone call and make no effort to give me any vital information I needed. My cat had a severe allergic reaction to one of the 3 shots he was given. The emergency vet was less than thrilled when I could not provide the names of the meds and they basically guessed and gave him multiple things to counteract "whatever combination of meds it could be." For one, I feel like the invoices should be changed to include the names of the vaccines, not just the kind. This can help immensely when life and death situations arise, illiminating the need for me to call and talk to an uneducated staff member who cant provide me these vital answers. I called again today to ask for these names once more and was met again with a staff member who had no clue. She said Amanda would call me later and discuss it. Which she did, she didn't tell me the names of them via phone but said she'd email those to me along with medical records for me to provide for the pet insurance company I use. I'm awaiting those still but I believe that she actually is going to. I'm not saying they are horrible people overall. Like I said I've had mostly good service. But this was such a big deal that it should be considered if you're doing research on where to take your pets. Better trained and knowledgeable staff would be a very key change, as well as listing the actual medications on invoices. Nobody ever wants to hear "I don't know" while listening to their cat scream in pain and vomit non stop. At the very least if a staff member does not know, when it comes to an emergency situation, take the time and effort to find out since you answered the phone. I do appreciate that Amanda called me back but I'm still very hurt about the whole appointment and events afterwards.
Best place to take your pets!
The staff is friendly, caring and helpful. I have always been able to get in within a day and have had only positive experiences. They take their time and you never feel rushed. If you are looking for the best vet clinic around this it it! Highly recommended!
