Friendly and great customer service
Everyone that works there is very kind. My dogs and cats always get great care.
This is a wonderful clinic. Dr Haggerty and Dr Meltzer are excellent veterinarians, caring and very professional.
Good service and reasonable prices. Both better than the other surrounding vets. Good hours, open 2 hours later than most vets.
Very helpful with our pet when we needed a same day appointment.
We've been using Alder Creek Vet for the past 7 years for our 2 border collie/aussie dogs. They always get me in the same day for our urgent pet appointments. During an past accident requiring stitches, the Vet was very patient and allowed my husband and I to be present due to our dog's anxiety. They really have the pets best interest in mind. Highly recommend their care.
They are always super friendly and one of their bets was from my home state so it was nice to be able to relate to someone.
Always friendly and helpful. If I ever have questions, they are happy to answer then or give advice over the phone. When I do bring my cat in, the staff is great and the doctors knowledgeable and patient. I drive to Battle Ground from Vancouver just to go here.
Dr Young is awesome. She was so thorough with me and my dog. She listened to all my concerns and gave suggestions. So glad I picked Alder Creek to be my vet!
I can't speak for the talent or ability of the veterinary staff. But I can confirm the receptionist staffing do sound rather rude and condescending when speaking with them. It may be that they are extremely busy, but regardless I will be looking to find a different vet to care for my animals.
They treat you like family , they take care of your animal pretty well as well there patient with you there compassionate as well !
Everyone was so kind and caring they are not a full service vet but they referred us to CRVC where we were treated with dignity and respect
Very attentive Veterinary
I had to put my dog down 2 weeks ago. The staff were really friendly and comforting. A special touch was that the clinic sent a card later for consolation.
Dr. Teagarden is our primary and preferred Veterinarian. She's absolutely wonderful and our dogs love her. She guided us through the journey of having a dog with lymphoma, which eventually led to him being put down. Dr. T's compassion during the whole ordeal made dealing with the experience much less painful (although still devastating.) However, we've also been seen by Dr. Haggerty, Dr. White and Dr. Meltzer and wouldn't hesitate to be seen by one of them should Dr. Teagarden be unavailable. The facility is modern and very nice. The front desk staff and assistants are also excellent. Very grateful to have this clinic so close to home.
ACV has several of my pets in file, but I will be transitioning them to another vet, as I have not been pleased with a few things. The front desk staff is rather unfriendly, one vet misdiagnosed my dog even after $1000+ of tests were done, I've been mischarged for services and cannot get anyone to call me back after leaving repeated messages, and I feel that some services that are strongly suggested (using dramatic wording) are entirely unnecessary, and one of the vets is a bit condescending, IMO. But if you want to be referred to as your pets "Mom", and prefer to do anything and everything they suggest, at whatever the cost, this office is for you.
going here for years
Very helpful vet
Love them for many reasons
Great service
Great with our animals
Great place. Lots of genuine care for the animals.
A few great vets. They used to be a 5 star, but prices are now too high and they are very busy, so harder to get an appointment
Wonderful care for our dogs from all of the Dr’s we have seen and what made our final decision to continue our care here instead of our previous vet was the front desk customer service. Over the phone they are so helpful and friendly as well as when you check in and out. They all seem to love their job and have patience and concern for each patient. Love this place!!
Amazing, caring staff that work hard as hell to make sure your pet is given the absolute best care. This is the only place I will take my Corgi and Silky terrier
I hate to write a negative review because I like the doctors here. But in April there was a misunderstanding and they murdered my kittens while inside the womb of our cat. We took our cat in for a strange cough. Dr said our cat was pregnant and due in a week which was a surprise. We said "oh, we were going to get spayed." Dr replied "we can still spay her." Brought the cat in to get spayed and was never told they would end the lives of the unborn kittens. I'm not a vet and I don't understand the anatomy of a cat or what "spaying an animal entails. Point being a came in the next day and they charged me over 300 dollars for the procedure and abortion of the kittens that were die any day now. I received a heart felt apology which I appreciated but they want me to pay for the procedure. I'm not paying for a procedure I didn't authorize and that wasn't explained to me of even warned about. I'll be taking them to small claims court to avoid paying for the murder of my kittens
This place is awesome. I got to pet a possum.
I have taken my last four guinea pigs into Alder creek and they have been great. After each one past away we got a sympathy card in the mail signed by everyone there. I showed it to my kids and it made them feel good during such a hard time. Recently I brought in our new bunny for neutering and it went great. He is recovered and a happy bunny. I love the staff. Thank you. Plus they were the best price for my bunnies nueter.
Long wait even with an appointment.
They are all very compassionate people who work here.
Very friendly employees who seem to know the importance of pets to their owners. They care about the pets they take care of and are conscientious of their actions. Pets are safe and cared for. I felt very comfortable bringing my daughter's kitten to them to be neutered. They called me when the procedure was complete so we woyld not worry or wonder. The office is clean and there is plenty of parking.
My family and I all take our pets here. Very friendly, quick service. They obviously care very much for animals and my two year old lab even seems to enjoy his visits
I love this place! All of the staff treat u & ur fur babies like family! They were so good 2 me when I was losing my dog of 10 yrs. I wouldn't trust any1 else with my fur babies!
Always excellent service! Sometimes there's a wait, but it's worth it. My dog loves these people.
Super fast check in and amazing staff. Treats for pups and stickers for kids. They even have fun art and an amazing accessories selection.
$80 for a dog flue shot. Just called everyone else around, and they're all $40 or less.
Won’t get into details, but don’t bring your pet here.
This is our Vet for our Lab...been going there since he was a pup...always a good place to go and he always likes the healthy treats that are provided.
Great people, and compassionate, can't imagine going anywhere else !
The wait was about an hour after my schedules appointment for a basic check up on my lab. However the staff there was so friendly and helpful that the wait was most definitely worth it!
Such a nice staff even with having to deal with my semi-aggresive rotty. Did a flawless spay. Plenty of after care instructions.
Fiendly,helpful,knowledgeable
This vet is amazing, I highly recommend them!
Very disappointed with the service my little sister got. Philip Meltzer have made my sister feel that she does not deserve to own a cat simply because she could not "pay thousands" to take care of it. Dr. Melter was very unprofessional and insensitive. Would not recommend this place, nor ever take my pets there.
Very friendly staff. The facility inside and out was very clean for a vets office I think. The location is convenience and easy to find also.
The staff at Alder Creek took such good care of my babies today. Everyone was friendly, from the front desk to the vet techs in the back. I was comforted by their smiles and promise that my babies would be ok and they sure were. They were there to be spayed and neutered. The incisions look great and the tech went over the aftercare instructions with us and labeled their pain meds and separated them into different baggies. I received 2 phone calls letting me know how they did and when I could pick them up. I sure did appreciate the communication today since my nerves were on edge. They are home and sleeping and no issues. I will be back there in a couple of weeks for additional services and can rest assured that they are in excellent hands. Thanks Alder Creek Staff!!
Been bringing my babies here a long time. Always make sure my animals are comfortable. Clean and reliable service. Helpful and friendly employees. Sympathize with you when you have to make hard choices.
I took my cat here to try and figure out what was wrong with him, he would poop on the floor for no reason (the cat box is cleaned twice a day) and it would be very running like peanutbutter. This has been happening in for a while and I decided to go and see what was wrong with him. The doctor I had was a man and he was very condescending and rude but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say it was an off day for him. Anyways, they went to go squeeze my cats anul glandes which he did not like at all but it had to be done. They proceeded to give me medication to help him with his tummy. It's been 3 months and 300 dollars and nothing has changed. After I did my own research and tested different foods I have come to the conclusion that my cat has a gluten intolerance. That's it, he's just allergic to gluten. What a waste of money.
Great staff, a bit spendy. Very considerate when you're going through your last visit with your companion.
Great follow up but 4 stars because we had to come back twice for surgery to actually happen. My poor dog.
Took great care of my frenchie
Affordable and friendly
Honestly, not impressed. At first I called the clinic, letting them know we have a new pet and need to get her microchip registered. The lady on the phone seemed nice and knowledgeable, told us to come in. We come in, the girl at the front desk is a completely different story. Had no idea how to get the basic contact information for the chip, how to de-register or re-register it, etc. Also, did not have any info on how to tell if shots were up to date. We went to the VAC vet hospital down the street and it was a night and day difference. (Two star for the girl who helped me over the phone, otherwise would of been a one).
Great staff
Dr T is the best. She is very compassionate and helped me with one of my Scotties who had cancer. Would recommend to to anyone,
Everyone is so friendly, i felt so comfortable leaving my kitty there!
I can't begin to express our appreciation for the staff at Alder Creek Vet. Over the years we have seen Dr. Tegarden, Dr. Haggarty, and Dr. White for everything from routine appts for immunizations and temporary illness, to an emergency cesarean and resuscitation of pups, to the sadness & pain of our pets end of life. They have always been thorough in their assessments and treatment, kind, compassionate and reasonable in their approach to treatments, laying out options and explaining them, and not judging our decisions. They are all great!! On 2 different occasions they have waited after hours to provide care for my pet and involved our entire family in the birth of pups by cesarean and most recently in having to put down our 11 yr old family member. Dr. White is extremely patient, empathetic and so kind. She waited after hours while we went home and got the kids so they could spend some time with our dog, say goodbye and patiently walked us through the whole process of putting our dog to sleep. She was asking the kids about their memories, and made a really sad time as good as it could be. Thank you!! I find their prices to be extremely reasonable especially in comparison to other clinics. I've been their a lot and occasionally may wait 15min but usually not and honestly, their worth the wait!
I would not allow this place to ever handle another one of my animals. Maybe I just expect people to do what they say!??!? Weird I guess. On numerous occasions I have been told one thing and charged for another or had services done that I've opted out of. I have been very patient as I know sometimes people make mistakes...I know I do. It's very clear now that this place does not hold the standards I'd expect from a professional. I wouldn't be surprised if the sold one of my pets kidney to another customer.
Long story short. They messed up our Australian Shepherd puppies tails, when we asked them to fix it they said they wouldn't. They were rude, short, and did not apologize at all. They actually blamed us for their mistake. We tried trusting their vet, but come to find out not all vets should be trusted. It was a learning experience.
Beautiful, bright and airy clinic. All of the staff, front desk, technicians, assistants and DVMs were friendly and positive!
Great care at a reasonable price
Dr. Mary Ann Haggerty and staff are very friendly and professional. We took our dog in on an emergency after being bit by another dog at the dog park; not only did they fit us in at the last minute but they were quick, reasonable and did an great job fixing her bite wound as well. I would highly recommend Alder Creek to anyone.
We always get great service here. They love our pets and take great care of them
My new vet!
I arrived 5 minutes early for my 4:40pm appointment. After waiting 20 minutes, I asked how much longer i would have to wait. The receptionist said she didn't know for sure cause there were others ahead of me. So I thought about my options: 1. sit there and wait indefinitely to see the doctor, even tho i had a solid (i thought) appointment. 2. Re-schedule and maybe go thru the whole long wait all over again, or 3. just walk away. I chose the last option. It appears that this clinic is overbooking and not able to keep up with the demand, or is just unable to make sense out of the whole appointment concept. Simply said, if you make appointments for people, please have the courtesy to honor them (within a reasonable time ok?) I don't think that is an unreasonable request.
I love this place. They did an awesome job on my Lil dogs dental work.
Best caring vets around. Have been taking my kids with tails here for over 10 yrs
I never wait long to be called back and they always seem so knowledgeable and caring
Never a big wait. Good care for my pets
My best friend and driving partner Max broke a front tooth Sunday and needed to see a Vet... Alder Creek got my buddy in the next morning. Max typically hates going to the Vet's like I'm sure most pets do, but Vet did really good with Max, I could tell she was one who loved animal's more than the $. That's the best kind of Vet there is. They were really gentle with Max and got him fixed up in no.time and now he's his happy self again. Thanks so very much Doc.. Oh....and the cost was surprisingly affordable. Thanks again for everything... Alder Creek gets 2
I take my dobermans here. They are always friendly quick and honest.
Good been going for 4 years now
This seems like for a Veterinary Clinic they act and treat you just like you're going to a regular human doctors visit you have to have an appointment you have to you know pay on the spot you have to do all kinds of things that jump through the Hoops so anyways I wouldn't recommend it
This place is the BEST!!!!!
Great local place to bring your animals. All of my pets see the same guy, which is awesome. I hate not seeing the same person / people. Low Turnover here, love the folks.
Friendly staff
They take great care of your pet if you can stand how damn rude the staff are. We drive twice the distance to go to a more friendly place.
Always helpful and friendly. The facility is clean and my pets and I always feel comfortable here. The staff and Vet's are all amazing!
Overall a really positive experience. They got us in right away when we had a problem, and I was really impressed with the care and extra time the doctor spent explaining, and helping me see the observations he had made on x-ray machines. Thanks for helping us out!
They are amazing. I just moved here and have had to take several of my animals to them. VERY happy with them and will continue to go there.
Good care...some things are pretty pricey. They kind of work with you on that which is good. there are a lot of vets...its a busy busy place. The only feedback is perhaps a different system for their waiting room...a number system or more efficient way to process customers in and out. Also, when you do billing with 2 or even 3 folks at a time it really significantly lowers the amount of privacy each person has. Definite kudos for the vets we have seen so far. They were thorough and kind.
I was looking for Royal Canin dry dog food vetranarian formula to purchase off the shelf without a prescription and they met all my needs . Very happy!
Amazing! Extremely knowledgeable, very helpful, the entire staff worked together to provide superior Customer service and when we left I felt my dog had gotten top notch care. My dog now has extended family.
Our family moved to Battle Ground and I basically googled veterinary clinics near me and went with this clinic. We had to make sure our twelve year old bull mastiff was doing well enough as we were worried about her and her health because of her age. They took very good care of her and our pup took a turn and we had to make the choice to end her suffering. We wanted an at home vet to come but couldn't get one on such short notice. We decided to take our girl in and the Clinic was so amazing. Honestly I was so distraught I can't recall much but they made everything comfortable for us all and when it was over my husband and I agreed that we couldn't have done anything different to make the experience better. I thank all the employees at Alder Creek and am truly grateful we had them. We had our girl cremated and the poems, trinkets, and urn were so heartfelt and lovely. I will always be thankful for them.
So far its been great, and I've been there at least 3 times with my dogs.
Excellent veterinarians great hours
Was here with someone picking up pet supplies
Wonderful doctors and great staff. Our dog loves to go there!
The Doctors there know their business. My dog, a Manchester Terrier is 17years old and in good condition because of them.
Dr. Miller is awesome! Very skilled and caring.
Dr. Tegarden is the best! She continually gives expert care and genuine love to my diabetic cat, Merlin. She has taught me to manage his home care well, returns my calls when I have questions, etc. The rest of the staff is great as well, anyways friendly and competent. Thanks all, for your help today. I'll continue to drive out to BG to have you care for us!
I have only had positive experiences with Alder Creek Veterinary. Bella is 10 and they have been wonderful to her. Given her great care and helped me keep her happy and healthy.
They have a friendly staff, reasonable prices, expert knowledge of animals, and a clean clinic to boot. I recommend this place to everyone.
I love these veterinarians so for so good. They have been really good to my many, Shelby. See her if asap if shes needs it. Always seem willing to be helpful.
GOOD PLACE I TRUST WITH MY CHILD....( DOG )...
They take all the time needed to make me feel comfortable about how my pooches are doing. Can't ask for more
Best vet in town
They are so caring!
My mom took her pug to the vet and saw Dr. White (she normally sees another vet) and was displeased with her services. Her " bedside" manor and her comments were lacking to say the least. My mom's pug is 13 years old and blind but in relatively good health. She came in for an ear infection. The vet implied that they have "kind and humane methods of putting animals to sleep" which my Mom interpreted that she should do this with her pug. She won't be seeing this particular vet in the future.
They are always inviting. :)
The staff is always welcoming and pleasant.
The only good thing I have to say is that they squeezed my dog in at the last minute for an emergency visit. My dog is very scared when he is around new people and none of the staff members seemed to know how to respond to a frightened dog making the situation worse. They seemed to be afraid of him because he is a large dog. He is a lab and they treated him as if he were a vicious pit bull. They asked me to leave the room to see if he would be more relaxed so I did. Nobody ever told me the visit was over. My husband notified me by phone that he was taking our dog to the car. This was a shock to me as Dr. White had walked past me in the hall and never mentioned this. I was told that his blood work would be back the following day. I called in to check since I had not heard back and was told "your dogs blood work is fine you can call back if you have any more questions." I am still stuck with a huge question, obviously there was something wrong with my dog we would not have taken him in just to get his blood drawn for no reason. Since this was an emergency visit I was unprepared to pay for the service which would have been fine since their paperwork and signs say over $100 visits can be paid through a payment plan. Apparently this is not true as I had to pay the balance before I left. The next time there is a problem I will be making the 30 minute drive to a better vet in Vancouver. I will never have any of my animals back in this place.
They've taken amazing care of my dogs.
Took in my 2 new puppies and they did everything they could to figure out what was wrong with them. Figured my bill was going to be $500 and was only low $200.
Really like Dr. White, she treated us and our golden with lots of respect during his last days. We've already started taking our new golden pup to her for his puppy check ups and vaccines.
Called about pricing and was told a way lower amount on the phone. Watch for the extra fees. I'm over 200.00 into vaccinations and exams on a kitten that has yet to be neutered. I called and asked what the cost for fixing and shots before his first visit. I was not told of the additional charges or tests. So if your thinking of getting you kitten all his shots and fixed be prepared for over 300.00 all said and done.
The staff is knowledgeable & compassionate. I love this place. When our 15 year old puppy needed put down Alder Creek even came out to our house to make him feel more comfortable.
The vetinary care is just fine but more than once I have gotten a lot of attitude for the receptionists which I don't appreciate
Very bummed about the care and customer service here! 6 years ago I loved Alder Creek, enough to move all across Clark and Cowlitz Co. and still want to bring my pups all the way into BG to be seen. These last couple years however have been consistently downhill. Prices have gone up. Empathy and compassion has gone down - esp. at the front desk. The gals are not welcoming anymore and you get little to no communication! We’ve had consistent trouble getting refills on medications. Another issue... We chose a specific surgeon for our girls spay (we even waited longer for an opening with this specific surgeon - Dr. Haggerty) and this was changed without telling us (not even on drop-off!!) and they had another surgeon actually perform the spay. This is absolutely not okay in my book! Our request was not without purpose and we would have rescheduled if the surgeon was out. We are transferring care and headed elsewhere! Our pups are our babies, we care how they are cared for.
I love this place! Dr Miller is so good with my old dog who is terrified of the vet. We moved out of the area but I still make the 2 hour drive to come. The receptionist could be a little more friendly and welcoming sometimes but this place is wonderful.
At first visit with our Siberian Husky it was a clear cut easy solution. Second visit was X-rays. Third visit was for salmon poisoning. The doctor gave him a course of medicine and told us we didn’t need to come back if he gets sick. Just pick up the meds. My husband stopped in for meds and was told we needed to bring him in for another visit. The fourth visit wasn’t so easy. Our husky was treated for excessive itching. We tried the steroids and it didn’t even touch it. Next called the vet and they immediately jumped to giving pills to stop the scratching but never figuring out the root cause. We ended up doing our own research and purchasing special shampoo and spray and it got rid of the problem. We also brought our older cat in because of severe weight loss and dehydration. Test results only indicated a possible IBS problem but also early kidney problems. We brought her home and tried a few things but couldn’t get her to eat. Finally we purchased some high calorie foods, gave her food and mixed water in what she ate. She picked up weight The doctor was nipped from our cat but she really didn’t do a full inspection of our cat. This included not looking at her mouth. We looked in her mouth and she is missing teeth. Also, in the past there were medication mix ups. Final thoughts..we will not be going back to this establishment. I do not like to post such negative reviews but feel this is necessary because of another awful experience told to me by a dog’s owner.
Very good veterinarian
I am not thrilled at all regarding what took place June 24th 2017. My brother took their family dog there as their dog was not acting quite right, he called, told him to come in, they did x-rays and said they didn't see anything wrong but that his dog did have a very rapid heart rate. Then stated " THEY WERE TOO BUSY " and told him he needed to find somewhere else to take their dog and by the time he was able to find somewhere else to go, she died on the exam table at another vet a half an hour away. I felt like they should have done more to help my brother and their family dog. I would not recommend this place for anyone EVER!!
The vet has been great with our Australian Shepherd each time. However we had an emergency with our other dog a year ago, much smaller with bite wounds. The receptionist turned us away because the dog was not a client. The dog died because of this. I feel bad to give one star but maybe our other dog would have lived if you didn't let us bring her in. If our names our in your file, I cant understand why you cant see another one of our pets, especially when they are in a life or death situation.
LITTLE spendy BUT it's your baby and it's worth IT
They are very nice and they let me know that they could not spay my dog until April becayse they had a lot of emergencies which I understand
Good vets.
Love my vet, everyone who works there is very nice!!
Dr. T is amazing, can't say enough!! Great with pets.
Great place with a small town feel. Made myself and the little guy feel very welcomed.
We are new to the area and needed to establish veterinary care for our 'doodle and Bernese Mtn Dog. We took the Bernie in first, since he was kinda whiny. They were able to schedule a new patient visit and evaluation within 48 hours of our call. The staff was very nice and experienced. The clinic was a little off the beaten path, but that was good--just in case there was an escaped patient (no busy traffic to deal with). We saw Dr. Smith, and she was very pleasant and quite animated. Very personable, and you could tell she likes big dogs. She spent about 45 minutes with us and Cooper, and told us all about the local environment and what to look out for and what not to worry about. Oh, and their clinic looks brand new and definitely top-shelf. The grounds were also very well maintained--there was even a water-feature for Cooper to walk in while outside :) Prices were about average, but I think you're getting a lot for what you pay for. No unnecessary tests, drugs, etc. Overall, we were very happy with the care and would recommend this place to our friends!
My dog is a weirdo who loves going to the vet, probably because these guys are so awesome with her. At one point we had to bring her in for an emergency and she was seen right away. However, because Alder Creek does take emergencies, sometimes the wait for a regular visit can be a little long. Other than that, we love taking our dog here. And it's affordable!
I can't say enough about Dr. "T." She is not just a vet who takes care of animals, but truly cares about you and your animal. She and I both have Doxsies so it makes my visits so much fun every time I bring y 3 girls in. She is one special lady. Dr White is also one of a kind. So sweet, so caring loves and cares about my girls so much. All the vets are great! I wouldn't go anywhere else.
Anna at the front desk is amazing. Dr. Miller, DVM, And Dr. Haggerty, DVM, are the best. I drive 30 minutes to take her to this vet, despite others being closer.
Very busy location with constant activity but very good care for your animal at reasonable prices.
Took great care of my dog, at a great price.
Very nice girls that are very good with pets, i give them at 10.
Friendly staff as always
Worked my very sick cat in quickly and efficiently. She is back to her craziness. So glad to see her feeling better
Beautiful lobby, great service, good prices for the area.
Definitely more headache than it should be. It's just not worth it to me.
I am giving them five stars because they saved my rabbit's life. My rabbit had an intestinal block (I think from self-grooming and him eating too much of his long hair). He was very sad and hid in the corner, he wasn't eating or pooping so i knew something was wrong. They say if a rabbit acts like that, they could be dead within 24 hours. I was absolutely devastated and felt like my world was crashing down. I brought him to Alder Creek Veterinary with the understanding that he may not live through the day and you can't begin to imagine the anguish I felt. Whatever they prescribed him got his intestines working and he was able to use the bathroom again and eat. So I am forever grateful for them helping us... he is still alive years later and we know now to keep his fur short so he doesn't get hair balls. I really feel if I hadn't taken him in, he would not be with us today. Also the price was affordable, although I would have done anything to make him live and feel better. So thank you, Alder Creek.
I am in awe of Dr Young and staff! Dr Young and everyone there treated my hyper Labrador so well. Thank you, to all at Alder Creek Vet Clinic! I would highly recommend taking a beloved fur child there!
Took my dog in after having a terrible experience with other vets. Jesse at the front desk was so sweet and attentive. Dr. Miller got my boy taken care of so quickly after he'd been to several other places with no success. He had a great time and has significantly improved since his appointment a week ago. I highly reccomend taking your pets here. It will be the only place I take mine to in the future
Very caring staff and helpful. We keep taking our pets back as needed
Best Vet in BG!
