Dr. Kenney has done two ACL surgeries for my dog, Farrah, both times were a great experience, he genuinely cared for my dog and her well being. Farrah is now back to normal after having both ACLs done a year apart! Will defiantly be back if needed!

Been with them for over 25 years.

Super friendly and knowledgeable and will go out of their way for your pet. Large practice with a few different brands of food and other misc. items. Great place to bring your babies and right behind Pet Food Warehouse.

If you have money to blow, VCA Brown will gladly take it. I always left there feeling like I just got worked over by a car salesman. Any mention of a budget and they will make you feel like you shouldn't even have a pet. If you can't spend exorbitant amounts of money for the most expensive approaches and often unnecessary tests, go shopping for a vet that is grounded in reality. Horribly unprofessional: I had one of the doctors straight up roll his eyes at me when I couldn't afford a more expensive version of a procedure. That expense being anesthesia which, in hindsight, was not even remotely necessary and could have caused devastating complications. My dog needed an abscess drained, when they finally admitted they could just numb her locally we took that route and everything went well. I was beyond upset (re: crying) because I couldn't afford what they wanted me to do, and they forced me to 'haggle' with them for close to an hour to get them to provide my girl with the care she needed. I told them what I could afford, and they kept coming back over and over with estimates easily doubling my budget. I'm honestly glad I was so broke at the time of the incident, so I couldn't hand over more money to these blatant crooks. Unfortunately, they will stay in business by exploiting unsuspecting animal parents' love for their fur babies. P.S. To VCA: Your egos are astounding. Please don't leave a gaslighting response like I've seen below. Don't use this review to try and appear decent to prospective customers (re: not patients). If you must do anything, just keep one-upping the poor fools who give you 5-stars, and let this truth be. Response Edit: I feel this way because of the treatment I received at your hospital. It would be cool if you could acknowledge my experience, rather than try to deny it by saying it "doesn't reflect" your employees. You are insinuating either my experience didn't happen, or my recollection is incorrect. In every post below you manage to minimize customer's compliments by patting yourselves on the back through self-purported accolades and hyperbole. To be clear, your management very transparently thinks more highly of VCA than even the people who like you. I'm sorry that you cannot see this. I hope you can seek help and improve.

I have dealt with some really bad vets in the past so i'm very picky. VCA Brown gets a 10/10. The people at the front desk were all polite, friendly, and helpful. They got me in the day after I called. When I arrived they gave me an aromatherapy sheet to put next to the carrier and it calmed my cat right down. He was purring through the majority of the visit. That was a nice touch. The vet really knew her stuff. She had detailed and thorough answers for everything and was very thorough diagnosing my cat's eye issue and making sure he was in perfect health. I'll definitely be going back.

I spent quite a bit of time trying to find the right vet for Harley and I’m so happy we chose VCA Brown. Absolutely wonderful team of veterinary healthcare providers! Drs. Wheel, Tal and Kenney all have taken phenomenal care of Harley and I wouldn’t take him anywhere else. The entire support staff is incredible and knowledgeable and will take all the time you need to answer any questions. At VCA Brown they make you feel like family! Thank you all for what you do and for taking awesome care of Harley!

Too pushy on vaccines. Why, if they are vaccines, do pets need them throughout their life. Aren't they supposed to build immunity. And please don't make negative statements about other businesses in order to push Purina products. My animals are very allergic to grain. Please stop using scare tactics to clients to adapt to your opinions. Yes, they are only opinions.

Loving professionals. They love my dog and family.

We took our aussie/rottie mix there on 8/20/15 for ACL surgery. They treated us and our dog so good. They were all friendly and helped in any way they could. Dr. Kenney was outstanding and we would recommend him to anyone needing any surgery that your pet needs. Five star rating from us!

This animal hospital has always been sincerely dedicated to our pets and out needs. The doctors and vet techs are caring and professional, prompt, and speak frankly and fairly about their practices, diagnoses, and costs. Just as you stick with your MD when you find great one, we will always take our pets here for their health needs.

They gave us honesty and kindness in a tough time for our cat. They did everything they could for her. This place cares about not only the animals but the owners of them. They helped explain every process and medical term. They gave every financial option. When we reached a tough conclusion, they helped us lay our baby to rest peacefully. They gave us space and every bit of comfort that we and our kitty needed. It was such a hard day but we are so grateful for the work that they did. Every time we called, they fit us in for an appointment that day or the next morning. THANK YOU, VCA.

Do NOT go to this place. They are definitely for-profit, greedy folks who do not care about the outcome of the treatment they provide. I wish we would never become their customers in a first place. Our eight year old Scottish terrier started to limp and we took him to this hospital. Dr. Averill suggested a simple X-ray test of his leg. During X-ray procedure our dog was hurt so much by Dr.Averill that he could not step on the foot anymore. Then we were told that he needs an operation because now the ligament was torn completely. We agreed again. In a conversation about complications of operation we were never told about dangers of anesthesia. Dr.Kenney performed an operation. Our dog died 4 weeks after operation due to the massive liver failure caused by anesthesia. We didn't get any support from the hospital: they right away referred us to the emergency care. Doctors told us that our dog liver was probably not normal from the start. However, he never was diagnosed in this hospital with liver disease and all his blood tests were showing normal levels of liver enzymes before operation. We are absolutely devastated: we lost the best friend. We will never come back to this place and will make sure no one else does.

Great place to bring your sick and injured fur babies

All they want is to give tons of unneeded vaccines to your pets. Too corporate.

Hands-down one of the worst around the Vermont area. They only care about money! they offer a free exam for new clients however they never have availability and mysteriously have availability if you're paying client for that day. I wanted a second opinion because my dog has been having an eye condition that our regular vet couldn't treat and has had several failed attempts with medicine. I wasn't happy with my vet and interested in not only having the second opinion but possibly switching vet offices and refused to allow me to honor my coupon for a free first exam even though I was a new customer like the Coupon states. Kristin was not friendly on the phone and when I called out the fact another tech told me prior that I could in fact use the coupon she was incredibly rude placed me on hold and never returned to my phone call. I called back 3 more times because she was suppose to talk to the vet tech on duty to see if they would make an "exception" for the coupon even though may I add again we are a new client like it states and before I could get a word in to ask what the verdict was with getting an appointment they told me to hold and wouldn't speak to me. I will not be going to this center and will tell everyone my experience and how rude they are. Stop caring only about the money and start caring about people's pets... that is why you are a vet right?

Quality care. Very expensive.

I've been taking my cats and dogs here for years. The staff is knowledgeable and caring. Sometimes I feel a bit pressured to follow a checklist of treatments (like being guilted into getting dental work done, or having a billion vaccines done...), but if I say I don't want to do something, they will respect that. The cost is pretty high, but all vets are expensive, and they offer a couple of different options to help (care card, insurance...). The thing that keeps me here through the years is that all of the staff, from the receptionist to the tech, to the vets, seem to really understand how wonderful pets can be, and genuinely care about animals.

The vets are professional and caring

I have great experience here with my puppy. They have a paws program where you can pay monthly for all your puppy shots so you don't have to pay out of pocket. The paws is good for a whole year. The only thing it don't cover is the dewormer or flea stuff or if your puppy gets sick or injured.

Looking for a fantastic Vet?? Well look no further!! These are your people! My dog doesn't dread going here at all... well at least not until they put the thermometer in her bum, but she quickly gets over it!! Wonderful and friendly staff and not a pusher of all things unnecessary!!! Marley Mae Loves them!!

My dog was very sick, I brought him in to see the doctor. Usually, the treatment there is good. But, that day, my dog was treated so horribly by a rough and crude assistant. Her attitude was beyond rude. I walked out because I did not want that energy around me or my beloved dog. He died that day. I will never recommend VCA. Ever.

Best veterinarian place in the world.

Brown Animal Hospital is new to us. It was recommended by a friend who has been our vet tech for many years. They were very warm and welcoming, as well as gentle and competent with our six year old dog. We have added a new dog, and we will be taking her to Brown, too.

Gavin Wright

Brown staff had a slot and my Big Coon Cat had a scrap the other day. Brown Vets let us bring him in late day on the spot and found Coon cat had a nasty cut tongue, gave him antibiotics, pain killers, and pretty much gave him the royal treatment. I've always been very please with the high quality care Brown has provided my special Puss. Puss appreciates the care very much, Mraaaow! Thanks ...The Wrights, Essex

I have a Bernese Mtn Dog who has had her fair share of health problem (comes with the territory of owning this breed!). The vets here have been AMAZING with either helping solve a problem or recommending specialist/more effective treatment elsewhere (TPLO Surgery they did not perform). They have always been friendly, quick, and more then accommodating with scheduling. Also, my dog enjoys going here, so that is a HUGE plus!

Suzanne Buchanan

Very efficient, clean and welcoming

Dan Tomaino

Great staff and never an issue, bringing our puppy.

Jay Chisholm

Prompt scheduling, friendly staff and providers, and they offer sound advice. They have accommodated boarding, routine physicals, acute illness and even a trauma for our small dog. Consistently high quality care.
