How do I give less than one star? These people are incompetent. Please don't bring your pet here. It deserves better. I brought my cat in for itchy ears, $200 later she still has itchy ears. Brought a gerbil in for a teeth clipping but Dr. Tony (The exotic animal specialist) thought it was an infection. He gave her some fluids in the form of a shot and five minutes later she started convulsing and died. He chalked it up to stress. Nevermind, the gerbil was up and active before he gave the injection. The guy is incompetent. Not to mention, none of the staff even took a pet gerbil seriously. Never again will I go to this place, and neither should you.

I had heard things about Tanneberger Veterinary Hospital that were negative or neutral, so had avoided it for many years. I had heard that the staff wasn't friendly, the prices were outrageous and they didn't care for "bully breeds". Wrong! My baby boy (6 year old pit/mastiff mix) wasn't acting like himself and seemed to have a stomachache on a Friday morning and my vets office couldn't get him in. I wanted him seen that day so I had decided to call Tannebergers and they squeezed him in that afternoon! The office was clean and bright, the staff were wonderful, helpful and friendly, the vet (Dr. Katie) was incredible and the vet tech (I believe her name was Alyssa?) was wonderful. They were compassionate, knowledgeable and Thor loved it- which says enough on it's own! As for the "outrageous" pricing, you can rest assured that that's not an issue. Of course there were several tests that could have been ran because it's not like Thor could tell us what was going on and they only had me saying that he "just hasn't been acting like himself" and that he had vomited. Dr. Katie was very helpful with prioritizing what should be done and what could wait and with the visit, tests and food- my bill was under $120! It was a great experience and we will definitely be back!

My dog was sick recently, I asked if he could be seen urgently and they said yes which I appreciated. I felt some of their staff were nice and accommodating and some just lacked in customer service/compassion. I am not sure if my dog truly needed all of the tests, food and medications he was sent home with. I unfortunately parted ways with them upon discharge as none of the prescribed medications were really explained in detail by the vet but just a generic explaination by the tech who really did not answer my questions. When I wanted something removed from my bill, or had questions about my bill the person I wanted to talk to was always unavailable and they had no knowledge of how to reverse payment made. I guess the part that made me question if I'll go back there was processing of payment (when your dog spends the night it's not cheap) before I could ask for the itemized bill. And the fact that the office staff does not know how to refund/reverse payments. I left they're paying for a lab that I am not having my dog testing for. 30.00 in their pockets. I'm giving them 2 stars because the receptionist was genuinely listened to my concerns and was able to empathize.

Our cat requires medication for the rest of his life for a condition he has. Vet told us to give him medication in the wrong format (enzyme powder in food) and our cat was bleeding POOLS of blood whenever trying to eat, barely ate, lost a ton of weight. They charged us far more money than we could afford to do test after test after test to be told "I don't know why he's bleeding". They told us they thought the blood was coming from his nasal cavity, which we told them we were certain it wasn't. It got to the point my cat was borderline anemic and needed an iron shot. Finally gave up and took my cat to another vet (BEVS) and in one visit were told the format of medication we were prescribed was wrong and was essentially digesting my cat's face and that powder should never be mixed in the food, it needs to be given as a capsule before eating. New vet was confused why Tanneberger vet would ever tell us to give him the powder this way to begin with because it's known to do this! Also agreed with us it absolutely wasn't coming from the nasal cavity. Since seeing the new vet and then correcting Tanneberger's mistake, my cat is now healthy... gained back lost weight, no more bleeding, eats heartily. Will never return to Tanneberger, nearly lost my best friend because of this.

Very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful staff. I have mostly seen Dr. John, who is smart and compassionate. Our sweet cat has a chronic health issue and he has spent time with us trying different strategies. I would recommend this veterinary clinic because of their obvious love of animals and their degree of expertise.

When I brought my super sick kittens in, after being turned away from two vets offices - Tanneberger's brought me in within the four hours. The girl on the phone stayed patient with me and helped me as much as possible even though I was crying, and it was a little wait in the waiting room (understandable because it was PACKED) before we were seen. Even though my little man Apache died in the waiting room, Dr. John was very helpful and kind and assured me that it wasn't my fault and took away the guilt I was feeling because the kittens were very sick from before I had even rescued them. My mom has worked with Dr. Tony and for Tanneberger's before, and they've continued to be very good to us. I very much appreciate their hardwork, and we are soon to be transferring our vet files over to them from our closer vet.

My pup was on deaths doorstep with an unknown ailment that caused hemorrhaging of her digestive system. At the time, she was only 4 years old in the prime of her life. All tests came back negative of anything that could be causing my pup so much anguish. Personally, I thought I would have to bury one of my beloved family members far too early. Through the knowledge and diligence of Dr. Tony, Dr. John and the wonderful tech staff at Tanneberger Veterinary Hospital that was not the scenario that played out. Almost 7 now and on a very special diet, she is loving life and in terrific health. I have been going to Tanneberger’s for almost a decade now with 4 very different wonderful pups. From routine vaccines to a complicated predicament they have always had the solution. Their ability to empathize with my canine family, translate the solution in a way I can understand and follow up with any needed treatment is outstanding and an example other vets should follow. They create an environment where my pups are always excited to see their friends at Tanneberger’s. Paired with reasonable pricing and experience that shows I don’t cry when we go to the vet either! That being said, I recommend Tanneberger to anyone looking for a quality vet!

Everyone in the office is so friendly and knowledgeable. Coming from out of state, they made sure that my old vet was contacted and history for my kitty received. She is only 6 and very healthy but can be anxious. Dr. John is very knowledgeable about cats and has helped my kitty with anxiety solutions. I highly recommend this office for any pet owner!

We have brought our pets here for the last couple of years, and it has been stress after stress. While the staff has always been friendly, we have always felt guilted into decisions, and little communication. I don't feel it is right to write a long list of negative comments, as everyone will have different experiences, but my animals are my world, and I feel it is important others at least do research and know that the relationship between you and your pet's vet will be one of authority rather than partnership. Some people like that, I don't.

I have been going to Tanneberger Hospital for 3 years, after moving from NYS. I am very happy with both veterinarians, and the staff. They are VERY knowledgeable, and compassionate. They all take the time to answer my questions, in person and over the phone. I never feel rushed, but instead I feel that they all care about my 3 cats. They are my world, so excellent vet care is extremely important to me. Dr. Tony saved my Greyson's life after his urinary tract blocked and he couldn't urinate, which can take a cat's life quickly. I am forever grateful. I have been very pleased with the care here, and I will continue to go to this hospital. We are lucky to have them here.
