My experience is not what people generally think of as "great" or 5 star- worthy. But it is one that we all must face one day if we are lovers of our dogs & cats. I have taken my pet here for approx. 12 years. Always happy with the care from all of the staff. On Monday I had to make the call to take my beloved 14 yr. old lab in to be euthanized. Let it suffice to say that Dr. Laurie Livingston is one of the most compassionate people I've met, along with being warm, engaging with a very kind, calming presence. She & the staff allowed me to leave my sick old girl in my car, so she didn't have to go through more discomfort of being taken out of my car & carried into an exam room. Dr. Livingston came out to the car. What a blessing, in amongst all of the heartbreak & horrible sadness when it's time to say goodbye, to have someone like her at the helm. That is one of the most important "jobs" a vet. does... Can't be easy to do it, let alone with such grace, compassion & true kindness.

Last time I took my cat there, I could hear her screaming in the back and she came home with both front legs bruised dark purple from chest to foot! The new (male) vet I saw wasn't very nice to me either. On top of that, it was well over $1000 for a dental, and not even a year later the vet I'm using now says her mouth is in "horrible" condition! I'll never go back unless it's an emergency. Very overpriced and all the good vets at this practice retired. Do not recommend. If you do go, ask for a female vet, the new young male vet there is not good! Also demand they draw blood IN THE EXAM ROOM where you can be sure your pet isn't being mishandled.

Dr. Laurie Livingston and Springfield Animal Hospital are wonderful. Dr. Livingston is caring and always up on the latest research. She's figured out fantastic treatments for my little dog! The staff has always been kind, caring and helpful. I'm so glad that my dog has such great care!

In the past 6 months or so I have unfortunately had quite a few pet-related emergencies and the Springfield Animal Hospital has been AWESOME! We were dealing with a death in the family and also lost 2 dearly loved pets, and although losing loved ones is never easy, Dr. Temple was incredible and made everything go as smoothly and stress-free as possible. We bring all of our pets to Dr. Temple now and will never go to anyone else. I do not know the other doctors at the Springfield Animal Hospital myself, but I have heard great things about all of them. Thank you for all you do, Springfield Animal Hospital, you're the best!

Springfield Animal Hospital is amazing. Everyone from the front desk staff to the techs. Dr Brad has gone above and beyond for my cat Lou. We have received the best care and support system there better then any vet I have previously dealt with. Thankful for all of you!

We've taken our animals to Springfield Animal Hospital for over 20 years and have been extremely satisfied with the caliber of service and caring for our dog, cat and birds. Our dog Jack in particular had a very sensitive gastrointestinal tract that required ongoing care. The very knowledgeable vets never took anything for granted; they listened carefully to us at each visit to understand how Jack was doing and offer any guidance, if needed. We had to put our beloved cat Puddin' down after 17 years, and the compassionate support we received to do that was invaluable. I was so moved when a few weeks later I received Puddin's pawprint in plaster of paris for us to remember her by. It makes me cry now to think of it! You won't find a better place to care for your animals than Springfield Animal Hospital.

I am so mad I cannot see straight! I have been using the Springfield Animal Hospital now for 20 years, trusting them to take good care of my furry family. Crystal has been helping Pippin to give birth to her puppies for 24 hours now. She has given birth to 2 stillborn puppies, one is trapped in the birth canal and 1 is still moving in her uterus. This poor mommy dog is in distress and Springfield has turned her away, refusing to see and help her because "we are a business and she is not our client"!!! The business of love cannot be allowed to be heartless!!! I just got off the phone with Springfield and told the that I AM a client - but will not be any longer! I encourage all who bring their beloved pets to the Springfield Animal Hospital to find another vet as I have decided to do... Some thing are unacceptable!!! We are all heartbroken here today...

Our family has been going to Springfield Animal Hospital for nearly 30 years and we're so thankful we've had Dr. Tony, Dr. Laurie and their staff as a part of our lives. Springfield Animal Hospital has helped us welcome new kittens, puppies, gerbils and rabbits to our home; provided excellent, practical wellness throughout and hugged and comforted us when we said goodbye to our elderly pets. They have been there day and night for us. I used to love and recommend this place. I have two male cats that I've made into indoor only cats. They started territorial spraying (marking) all over my house because they can't go out. There are cats that wander all over my neighborhood and my boys go crazy trying to protect their domain. I tried EVERYTHING (enzyme sprays, feliway infusers, etc and Prozac is the only thing that works. When I asked for a script for the other cat (who I caught spraying several times), the vet insisted on a complete work up. $300 later (and I had to get my own urine sample at home) she is rude to me and only gives me a low dose script for 30 days. At another recent appointment for my other cat, a vet did an xray without my consent and wanted to cut my cat's tail off! He was there for a lion cut! I was so upset. This latest incident pushed me to the brink. I'm going to a new vet. They need to listen to their patient's owners and communicate better.

I use to like this office but in the last couple of years it has changed drastically. They are extremely expensive, don’t seem to care about your pet and when you come for your appointment you wait 45 minutes to be seen.

A '5-star' organization in every respect. The hospital is very well equipped with x-ray, ultrasound and blood lab on site and more esoteric services and sub-specialists just a phone call away Dr. Dena was a pleasure to work with, she thoroughly explained everything that she was doing and why, we discussed my dogs symptoms, her evaluation and diagnosis, possible treatment plans, expected results, my role in his treatment, worst case scenarios, etc. Unfortunately, Lymphoma is nasty, fast and unforgiving. Life doesn't always go as planned and having to say goodbye to a true friend and trusted companion will always be one of the darkest days of my life. The professionalism, attention to detail and level of dedication and compassion shown by the doctors and staff at the Springfield Animal Hospital was outstanding and deserves much more praise than I can possibly offer here. When the time is right, I'll be bringing JoJo in for his first round of shots. Again, thank you for all of your efforts and Joes plaque. -Steven

Awesome vet hospital!!! Friendly staff and great doctors. Dr. Tony treated my senior rescued cat and extended her life, I believe. When she passed at 20 years of age, I adopted a new senior girl. He found the surgery that had been done by another vet had left exposed roots in her mouth. He advocated for her with the humane society. This is a great local vet hospital!

I have been coming to the Springfield Animal Hospital for 10 years now and I simply don't trust anyone else with my pets! I don't feel that other Animal Hospitals closer to me are as thorough and passionate about what they do, that is why I travel farther to come here. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable; I love going in and seeing the familiar faces and giving updates on my cats and dog. They really care about their clients both people and animals!
