Dr. Barningham and his entire staff are so knowledgeable, caring, supportive, and the list goes on. They have cared for my dogs and cats for over 20 years and I feel very grateful for having them so nearby. I can always count on them to fit me in whenever I need help or get a prescription refilled or just to discuss a problem. Wonderful team of people!

Dr Steve and his staff are professional, knowledgeable and caring. I've been taking my dogs and cats to him for over 20 years. When one of my dogs became paralyzed in her hindquarters, Dr. Steve took her, without charge, to a colleague for consultation where he was able to diagnose her and successfully treat her. This is a wonderful veterinary practice.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would! I brought my cat here just 4 days ago because she was consistently vomiting, which was unlike her. I knew something was wrong. All The veterinarian, Steve, did who saw her, was feel her stomach, and look in her ears, (didn’t even so much as take her temperature) and said “she seems fine” and charged me $65.00. Fast forward to 4 days later (today) she started projectile vomiting, and was very lethargic. So I took her to another vet (Essex veterinary clinic, who I HIGHLY recommend,) who did a THOROUGH exam, took blood, and gave her fluids. Then delivered the devastating news that her kidneys were shutting down, and the only reasonable option was to have her put to sleep. So she suffered for 4 more days thank was necessary, because THIS veterinary clinic neglected to do their job and give her a thorough exam like they should have done. I will never take another animal here again.

We have been going to Dr. Steve and his team for many years now for our dogs and cats. They are all excellent - very professional, helpful, and informative when we have questions. They are very accommodating for scheduling on short notice whenever something comes up. Highly recommended!

Recently my cat got hit by a car and we took him to this animal hospital since it was the closest, being new to town. Dr. Barningham gave him such good care and was really a pleasure to work with. He cared so much about our little guy and his staff did equally. What good luck to have such a quality vet nearby. There is also another vet that comes by to do acupuncture which is nice to be able to get holistic care at the same location.

I've taken past pets to other vets and wasn't pleased with the service. This is the best place in VT I think. Steve is very knowledgeable and truly cares about your pets health. This is one of the rare places where you don't have to worry about them guilt tripping you into doing an extra service that your animal doesn't need. I always recommend this Vet to anyone who loves their fur babies.

I've never been here but the cat I adopted from the Humane Society had originally been given up to Mt. Mansfield Vet. I think they kept her safe and cared for for quite a long time. Steve has been a very attentive veterinarian, who always puts the animals first and goes out of his way to provide the best care throughout the life of our cats and dogs. The staff has always been supportive, including emergency care and scheduling. Everyone makes us feel welcome and valued. I would not trust anyone else with the care of my pets.

Love the Jericho animal care place. Thoughtful people that care about your animals. I highly recommend them. I'm a Maine Coon cat fancier...The 'huge Maine Coon cat' loves Dr. Steve, and I think Dr. Steve loves "7" (thats the cat's name...) Excellent place, recommended!

We've been taking our cats to Mt Mansfield for 25 years and are very happy with Dr Steve, the professional care and service we've always received, and all the staff. With over a dozen family pets in those years, we've been through happy times and sad times including tragic deaths and needed euthanasia. Steve and staff have been understanding and caring. We wouldn't take our cats anywhere else. A special shout out to his longtime assistant Lynn who holds a special place in our hearts for always being there with helpful advice and compassion.

I am a crazy fur baby mom and call them about everything that happens with my animals and they are always beyond caring and helpful. They are amazing at making time for my pets to be seen the day that I call with this concern or that. I have never had to wait for a visit or felt that I left unhappy with my pets treatments.

I highly recommend Dr. Stephen Barningham and his vet techs at Mount Mansfield Animal Hospital and will give you the 3 main reasons why I have been taking my dogs (Cocker Spaniels) to him for over 20 years and would never go anywhere else. 1) When my childhood dog got extremely ill more than 2 decades ago (she was 13), my parents made the decision to help her over the Rainbow Bridge but also decided not to have her regular vet help her for some reason. Dr. Steve had recently purchased MMAH and was local, so they took her there. He and his vet techs were wonderfully compassionate and told my parents they would send a bill even though they had never met them before! A day or two later, we received a sympathy card in the mail not the bill, which would not arrive for several weeks. When I recently had to help my 14.5-year-old baby over the Rainbow Bridge, everyone was extremely understanding and even had tears in their eyes after caring for her since puppyhood. 2) When I got my first dog in my mid-twenties, I began using our previous vet. One day, I had an emergency, called my vet, and was told in a rather callous way that she was too busy, it was nothing, and she would see him a day or two later. As a first-time nervous pet owner, I was not about to wait so called MMAH. Again, although I had not gone there before, the vet tech quickly told me to hold on while they called Dr. Steve (it was his day off, but he lives locally) and explained what was going on. He was concerned enough to come into the clinic less than an hour later to see us. After that day, I never went to another vet! Several times over the years, he has come in early, stayed late, or seen us on his day off. Dr. Steve and his techs try to accommodate their patients as much as possible, which I greatly appreciate. 3) Fast forward two plus decades, and now I own a very nervous rescue Cocker Spaniel. Hannah has diarrhea when she gets nervous, but she is usually pretty good for Dr. Steve and his lovely vet techs (all wonderful ladies, by the way!). One day though, she went all over the table and Dr. Steve's hand, shirt sleeve, etc. Without blinking an eye, he said, "Well, I guess you need a bath", picked her up, carried her into the other room, and bathed her. The vet tech cleaned the exam table and laughed at my embarrassment when my Hannah did it again upon being removed from the tub (she was definitely having a bad day). Dr. Steve simply put her right back in before bringing her to me wrapped in a towel. He even offered to carry her out to the car for me so I wouldn't get wet. The compassion and caring Dr. Steve and his techs show for my fur-babies and to me knows no boundaries!

There isn't a better Vet or staff that I know of here in Vermont. They have helped us with dogs that are sick, dogs that are healthy and hugged us and cried with us during our dog goodbyes. You have always been there for us. They go above and beyond. Poor Steve has seen my sick chickens and bunnies and ducks. He is the best of the best and so is his staff.

Dr. Barningham is tops, as is all the staff at Mt Mansfield. They put your pet first and have always had great advise on health and behavior issues. I have had several dogs of varying size and breed.
