I highly recommend Long Trail Veterinary Center. All of the doctors and staff members we have seen have been compassionate, knowledgeable, and helpful. This is the last vet we had to find, because we now won't take our pets anywhere else.

We are so happy with Dr. Canales ("Dr.Ryan") and cannot say enough to recommend him and his practice. He is extremely knowledgable and experienced and also has an extensive network of veterinary specialists to consult with should something come up beyond his own expertise. Everyone else he has brought into the practice, from Dr Bradley to the wonderful vet techs and office staff is patient, kind and truly care about the animals they treat. It's clear they love what they are doing. We have recommended others to Long Trail and they too are extremely happy with their experience, it's just a very different feel from other vets. The level of professionalism and competence (as well as the friendliness!) of everyone at Long Trail really gives us confidence that our dog is getting the very best care. Our questions are always greeted kindly and thoroughly explained, and we never feel rushed. Our dog's anxiety at the vet is accommodated to make him calmer and he actually loves everyone there. (I only wish they could treat humans, too!)

When we first moved to Vermont (5 years ago) finding a highly qualified, knowledgeable, and caring vet for our goldens was a top priority. We were referrred to Long Trail Vet by our neighbors and could not be happier! Dr. Canales (Ryan) is incredibly passionate about his work. His love for all animals is evident In the way he interacts with our dogs both at the vet's office and when we see him out and about around town! He is always available to answer any questions or concerns we may have and was extremely helpful and thorough with the many health issues of our 15 year old golden. Our newest golden, a rescue, has some serious anxiety when it comes to visiting the vet. Ryan and his wife Ericka have worked so hard to make him feel more comfortable and less anxious on our visits. We love Dr. Ryan and his wife Ericka, as well as everyone else at Long Trail Vet. We highly recommend their practice to anyone who truely cares about the well-being and happiness of their pets!

Our cat was losing so much weight, and after seeing three other vets, no other vets were able to help us. We gave Dr. Ryan a try and he figured it all out! Our cat is now at a healthy and normal weight. We finally transferred our 15-year old dog over to Dr. Ryan, and i only wished i had found Long Trail Vet sooner. They truly care about pets. They always have a room ready for you to go into so you can have private space, and so it wont cause stress to your pets in the waiting room. Both Dr Ryan and Dr Elliot are great! Great techs, too! And, they give back to the community!

The level of service and confidence Long Trail provides is exceptional. While they will urge you to perform a wide variety of tests and analysis that can be pricey, they do so in a thoughtful manner. Just ask them to describe what they are suggesting and they take the time to make it clear. Be sure to use your best judgment, but feel confident that you are in good hands with them.

We have been extremely happy moving closer to home, Bristol is a long drive in lousy weather. The Veterinarian, and all his staff are kind and knowledgeable. We’ve had a recent loss in our fur family, son and his girlfriends dog. The were so compassionate , followed up with them to make sure they were doing well. Our Pup Simon is a patient now, great informative care. Very happy with this group!!

Dr. Ryan Canales and his wife Ericka are the best! They truly care about their clients. I highly recommend this place to everyone— especially if you have a pet who is very anxious/difficult when it comes to going to the vet. Dr. Ryan and the rest of the staff spend the time getting to know your pet's personality and quirks and take the time to make sure that your pet has everything that they need In order to have the most comfortable experience possible. Dr. Ryan will go over everything with you to make sure you know exactly what is going on with your pet and what the treatment options are - no questions left unanswered! It's obvious that everyone at Long Trail Veterinary Center is in this field because they genuinely love and care about the welfare of animals and fully understand how undeniably important the human-animal connection really is!

Update: Long Trail Vet Ctr has been Nellie's primary vet and should have provided records they confirmed they've received when requested. No offer was made to follow up with BEVS if I didn't receive records. Very disappointing to see that they are refusing to assist a long-time client who suffered a devastating loss. Long Trail Veterinary Center were my dog's primary vets for many years, and I've been mostly happy with the care; Dr. Elliott is a very caring & compassionate veterinarian; however, when I requested detailed medical records that had been sent from BEVS to Longtrail (concerning my dog's treatment at BEVS and problems associated with the treatment), the manager, Erika, refused to send these records to me, claiming she did not want to get "into the middle of it." It was extremely disappointing and disheartening to hear her say that - after all, they are supposed to care about clients and are supposed to provide records on request. My dog has died in the meantime, but I will not take my next dog (if I decide to adopt another) to Longtrail.

If you're seeking a Vet that treats you like family, look no further. Ryan and Erika are the best, hands down. After having numerous bad experiences at another local Vet, we found Long Trail and haven't looked back since. I never feel like they're pushing us for the benefit of their business, rather, I always feel like they're doing whats best for my dog while being conscientious of cost. I am so glad that I found the Long Trail Veterinary Center. Dr. Canales and his staff are highly committed, competent professionals. They are diligent and prepared to draw upon a vast reservoir of information. When I first went to Dr. Canales I was desperate to find a solution to my male cat's UTI issues. Dr. Canales took us us through a course treatment that has addressed my male cat's issues. Today Ziggy is a healthy, happy cat. I am so glad that Dr. Canales and his staff are in my life.
