First time here. We've been going to Mid Valley Animal Clinic for many years, but it's just too far from where we live now to make the drive. The SS Animal Hospital was clean, professional, and well run. Their treatment of our dog was excellent. So glad to find a great, new place to get our dogs treated.

Such a great experience. Dr Geisler spent plenty of time talking with us and did a thorough exam. Checking everything with our dogs health not just our concern. Talked about our different options and didn't try to push anything which I appreciate. No unnecessary tests or shots or anything which if you have been to another vet you know they are always trying to do more. Very knowledgeable and kind. The techs were amazing. When we were done and got the treatment for our dog we went to check out and braced for the bill. But I was very surprised. The exam was the least expensive I have seen and like I said was very thorough. After the treatment our bill was only 70 dollars. Didn't feel at all like the office was rushed or I was just another customer. Everyone really cares. Which I have not really experienced in the past. Thank you so much Saratoga springs animal hospital. My pup is already looking better.

Staff kind of care, I think. The inside is nice, however they are constantly swamped with yelling dogs this way and that, and you can hear dogs barking in the back, and it just doesn't seem like a good place to take a scared as hell cat but you gotta do what you gotta do... They simply get our business because they're the closest vet to us. :/

They are constantly overbooked! Every-time I make an appointment and show up on time, I wait anywhere from 15-30 minutes to be seen by the doctor, I have never been seen in under 15 minutes. The one time I am 15 minutes late (with an already sedated animal) they tell me I have to reschedule. I understand not being seen right away if one is mildly late, but to be turned away entirely means they were already overbooked that day. Given my previous wait time experiences, I would venture to say they are overbooked everyday. I am sure the doctor is knowledgeable, but there are plenty of other vets that are of the same caliber, and there is nothing extraordinary about them that would be worth putting up with the overbooking. Aside from the overbooking, I have been dissatisfied on other levels as well. When we brought our dog in with an emergency, they accepted him but offered no pain medication for him, we sat in a waiting room for two hours (which was ok, it was an emergency and not scheduled, I get the long wait for that) but despite him clearly being in pain they did not offer anything for him. Another time we brought our dog in for a scheduled surgery. They had us bring him in at 8:30am and told me he would be ready to go home around noon or 1. I never heard from them so I called at 2:30pm to see if he was ready to come home and he had still not been taken to surgery! He sat in a cold, unfamiliar kennel for 6 hours!! I booked well in advance, we were on-time, there is no reason my dog should have waited that long (My guess... they overbooked!) And lastly, they overcharge for many things (nail trimming is $20! the one and only time I agreed to this one nail looked like it was cut way too short). Are they the worst vet you could go to, no, I don't think so, but I will be taking my pets elsewhere from now on.

Dr. Noall did a wonderful job examining my 1-yr old Bernedoodle this morning. He spent a decent chunk of time going over his general health and dental health specifically — I’m a dental hygienist and very concerned about that. I appreciate the time he took to go over everything in detail. My dog is scheduled to be neutered in two weeks by Dr. Noall and I know he’ll be in good hands!!

I have had wonderful experiences at this clinic. They are very gentle and understanding with animals that display behavioral issues and struggle with at the vets office. They are very thorough, and care about the animals they are treating. If we lived closer we would solely use this clinic for our animals. 10/10 would recommend.

We have used Saratoga Springs animal hospital in the past and had a wonderful experience. I went in to have an evaluation done on my lab who has a growth in her mouth and received all the necessary information and price quote. When I called back to schedule the surgery, they refused to do the procedure without me paying for another evaluation. They seem to care more about money than they do their Customers or animals. I will not be going back to them.

I have so much gratitude for doctor Farrer and this facility. Due to my dog having a chronic illness and traveling often I have been to many, many veterinarians. To come across someone as professional, kind, and educated as doctor Farrer is an absolute rarity. He exudes authenticity, and it shows that he has continued to learn all he can in his field. hisT guy is passionate about what he does. 1000% recommend! Front staff and assistant were very kind and knowledgable. The vet was also very knowledgeable, but was oddly puzzled when he realized the breed of my dog... all dogs deserve medical care, not just well bred dogs. I felt their was a flippancy as to the care that should be recieved due to breed. I feel his job is to present options and let me as the owner decide, not throw around phrases about what my dog is worth. I'm well aware she's not a champion dog... she's a rescue. I'm just trying to make her life better.

I am so grateful to Saratoga Springs Animal Hospital! I was visiting the area and had our flights rescheduled at the last minute. I needed a health certificate for my dog to fly ASAP and the wonderful staff and doctor at this office squeezed me into an already full schedule. My 5 year old daughter decided to teach her 3 month old bunny to swim. Bunnies can't and shouldn't be put in water. Needless to say, I rushed our bunny over to them, barely breathing and lethargic. They saved our bunny's life even though they don't do rabbit care! Will be forever grateful that they saved our bunny! Thank you so much!!!

I write a number of reviews for a variety of businesses, most of which are great businesses providing good service to customers. There are very few that have actually changed my life in a meaningful way. The care given to our puppy Cooper surpassed anything that I could have imagined. He got a hold of something he shouldn't have and had an intestinal blockage. He went downhill pretty quick and when we brought him in, Dr. Farrer was thorough in trying to get to a diagnosis. He was visibly troubled that he couldn't figure out what it was with just an x ray and abdominal exam, so we tried barium imaging, and it was found that nothing was moving. Dr. Farrer cancelled his plans to attend scout meetings that evening and operated on Cooper. He called us every few hours to give us updates and was very articulate and clear in his descriptions of his condition and the things to watch out for during his recovery. We even got updates late at night and early in the morning. It was apparent that he was not only sincerely concerned but personally invested in our pup's health. Recovery was a bit slower than he wanted, so he had us come in after hours to do several follow up tests to make sure the surgery was successful and that Cooper was on the up and up. He made a full recovery and we are so grateful for Dr. Farrer and his team for their care. Their passion for animal health is well known and their time is well sought after, so it's understandable that they're often booked for days in advance, but it is for good reason. Apart from the major surgery, we've also had excellent experiences with Dr. Nail on a number of less urgent visits. I would recommend SS Animal Hospital to anyone. We lived in Eagle Mountain but now moved about 40 minutes away but still make the drive to come back out here. Thanks for all you do!

I called this vet to have them take staples out of my cats tail from another vets surgery. They got me in same day. Emily was amazing and so was the vet tech with explaining and taking care of my baby. I’m only giving 4 stars because I did not care for Brittany at the front desk. I found her rude and unattentive to customers coming through the door. She acknowledged people based on their appearance versus their presence.

We had an emergency today with our pups and they got us in and got it taken care right away and didn't over charge at all! Wow, just wow. We brought our sick dog in around closing time. They took a look at him and determined surgery was required. They didn't put it off until next day rather did the surgery. After the surgery they took the time to explain the care needed, and the doctor hand wrote us the instructions. It's been two weeks and the doctor has called atleast 4 times to check on how our dog is doing. These guys really care about the animals they treat. We will never go to another animal doctor again.

Dr Farrer is amazing. He is very patient with all of our questions and concerns. He takes time to listen and not just talk like some Drs or vets do. He does not suggest unnecessary treatment, and has you and your animals best interest in mind. He has done a surgery on my dog and regularly sees our cat and dog. We won't go anywhere else.

Not wholly impressed with this place. The first visit was great- but that was the only visit where I saw the vet. The following visits for his continuing puppy shots, I never saw the vet, but I still paid for a vet visit. They should have charged me for just a tech visit, since that's what it was. Also, the vet tech asked me if we were planning on taking our puppy hiking, to which I said yes, but she never told me that she was going to give my dog the leptospirosis shot. I had a specific agreement with my breeder that my dog does not get that shot and I was expecting to discuss that with the vet or the techs when the issue arose, but she never explained to me that she was giving my dog that shot until after it was done and she was logging it into the computer. Just asking someone if they are planning on taking their dog hiking does not constitute as telling them you're giving their dog the lepto shot. The staff is nice, but I don't like that other people tell me that they see their vet every time they go to the vet and I've only seen him once. And then giving my dog a shot without my permission.... anyway, you decide if you want to go to them. I was underwhelmed by them especially since I went on here to read reviews before going to them and thought it would be a great experience.

We've had a positive experience with them for over 5 years. Recently however, it's been difficult to get my dogs seen or a vet to call back. I imagine it's because they've had more and more patients but it's frustrating to have a dog in pain and not get a call back within 48 hours, or have to pay $20 extra to have them seen within the week.

This is literally the best vet i have ever been to! Dont believe me? Let me tell ya why I recently had to say goodbye to my animal of 14 years. I am from out of the area, but some relative's nearby said that they where good. I do not remember the name of the vet (because i was to say the least a mess) but he came in and stayed and talked to us, tryed to help us figure out what was wrong, and then once we realised that there was nothing that could be done answered questions, and did the best they could to help calm me down! It helped make a generally painful experience alot easyer! They even sent a card after! It did not get to me immediatly because the relative who paid ended up getting it at first. There was some confusion about getting the memorial plaque, but i have it now so my solitary nitpick is gone. This is literally the best vet i have ever been to.

Hang onto your wallet and try not to let the receptionist ruin your day. The Vet himself was professional and good. The receptionist made our experience unbearable. So much so I took the time to stop by and acquaint myself with Lehi Hospital down the street which we will use from now on. We own horses, etc., but simply took a cat in for a known UTI which is common in cats and they charged us $200 which if you know anything about a UTI in cats, that is at the very top of what any Vet would charge anywhere, LA, NY, etc. Not what you would expect in Lehi. That was not the problem though, the issue is how they do it. They sent us home with just half a the dose of antibiotics needed to terminate the confirmed UTI and made us come back a week later for the other half and of course charged us almost $100 just for the antibiotics themselves?? Out of curiosity, I cross checked the same antibiotic for a 9lb cat at Lehi Animal Hospital down the street (Dr. Chamberlain) and they charge less than half that amount. Good luck with your best friends care.

I’ve been bringing my pets here for the past 8 years. The service and experience for my dogs and cats is always phenomenal! The doctors always have my pets’ best interest in mind and will not run a test or perform a procedure unless they feel it is absolutely necessary for my pets’ health. They won’t cut corners and will always make sure that my pets are in well enough health to be on any type of prescription product as well; whether it be a prescription diet food, any type of pain medication, preventative care, etc. I appreciate the email and text reminders I receive when any of my pets are due for their annual exams, vaccines and preventative care. This is extremely helpful so that I can schedule appointments in advance and get an appointment that works the best with my schedule. They are also accommodating as far as emergencies I have had with a couple of my pets as well. One that sticks out in my mind in particular is from a few years back. One of my cats was sleeping under the hood of a car and was cut by one of the belts when the engine started (thankfully not more damage was done). As soon as I noticed he was injured that morning, I called and they told me from what I described it sounded like he needed to be seen right away. They didn’t have an appointment available, but gave me the option leave my cat in their care for the day so they could squeeze him in between appointments/last minute cancellations rather than having to drive to one of the emergency clinics. When he was finished they called and let me know how he was doing and when he would be ready to go home that same day. Any questions I asked they answered or found out the answer and although it was a scary experience and I thought my cat was done for, they stayed calm and gave him the care he needed. Everyone I have encountered at this clinic is compassionate and has a deep love for animals and making people happy. I will always bring my pets here.

Best vet ever, big city or hometown. Dr. Farrer did an emergency tracheostomy after hours and saved my dogs life! He takes good are of all three of my dogs and educates us ad pet parents. My name is Tara Mueller--I live in Rexburg Idaho.While visiting my Daughter Randi in Eagle Mountain our dog Ike had to be put to sleep.It was so hard to deal with--He is a miniature schnauzer --13 yrs old. We called and explained the situation and they were able to get him in that afternoon. The staff and doctor were very kind and caring and so sweet to our puppy. They took care of the situation professionally but also were attentive to our needs. Yesterday we received a card from their office--signed by the whole staff. It made me cry--but they were the tears of gratitude for their kindness. I would recommend the Animal Hospital in Saratoga Springs to anyone who wants a place where they truly love animals and will take such good care of them. Thank you

This is the BEST animal hospital I have ever been to and I have been to a lot in salt lake county and Utah county over the last 10 years the staff is AMAZING and I haven’t met all of the doctors but the one we have been in contact with (DR.NULL) hopefully that’s how his name is spelled, this doctor is the best he really truly cares about informing us in detail about my pet’s situation and possible outcomes he is very thorough he has spent so much of his “off the clock” time on our dog’s case I can’t say good enough things about this doctor!!!!

Really weird experience here. Our dog had an accident and we needed them to check and see if she'd seriously injured her leg. They wouldn't let us talk to the vet. They ran x rays, said everything looked fine but said there's a chance she injured her growth plate. I told them that's serious and I needed to talk to the vet. They told us over and over we couldn't talk to the vet but the vet would call us back today. Never got that call. When I picked up my dog, they said he'd call that night. Never got a call. They said they'd send x rays to my email. Never got the x rays. I paid the $300 for the X-rays and I have no assurance that a vet ever even looked at them.

The Dr (I don't remember his name at the time of this review) was very helpful and answered all our questions about our lab and even mentioned if there was an issue, after hours, to call them and they will get [the lab] taken care of. My only complaint is the lack of available parking stalls... but that's not really anything the SSAH can help.. :) All-in-all we trust our multiple furry little friends there; they even seem to like going there.

We brought our brand new puppy here. They did several tests and told us that if anything was wrong they'd call us. They said no news is good news. Then at our next appointment 3 weeks later we find out that she has giardia, and they did not call us! For 3 weeks! They have totally lost my trust. When they told us about it they basically just said "whoops." They didn't do anything to try to make this right. No accountability whatsoever. I don't trust them with the care of my pets.

Appreciated that there was no rush when we took in our cat to get her booster shots and yearly check up. Every concern was addressed as well as detailed questions asked just to make sure Widget was as healthy as she should be. We were grateful for some tips to help us out taking care of her (best dental practices for her/how to better get mats out of her fur) when concerned about any allergic reaction to her shots we were given step by step emergency call directions which thankfully we didn't end up needing to use. But the clarity in communication was ideal!! Getting in was quick and without hassle! The Dr who saw us was great!

Seriously? Who won't call in a prescription to PetSmart? Zero stars for customer service. Forcing your customer to drive 30 min to your location to pick up a prescription to then TAKE to another store for your cat food is ridiculous. They've called in prescriptions for me before but not now? I won't go here anymore.

I've liked the office and staff on all occasions that we have been in. The vet is patient, does very thorough exams, and answered our many questions. My dog is very timid but the staff is kind and let's her warm up. My only complaint is the difficulty to get an appointment. On multiple occasions I've had urgent, not emergent, needs that were met with indifference when trying to make an appointment. Most the time you're looking at a week out, even for urgent needs. One time we ended up at the an ER vet prior to the appointment, and the other I ended up calling around until I found a new vet that could take our appointment quicker.
