My puppy was seriously injured when he was hit by a car. We had just moved to Houston but had been to Travis Country for our previous pet needs. We decided to make the 3 hour drive to have the surgery done at Travis Country. Dr. Clinton did an amazing job. My pup is healing much quicker than expected. Our vet here has commented on what a great job he did based on the x-rays. Dr. Clinton continues to follow up with us to make sure all is well. We will definitely continue to go to Travis Country when we need to, and, hopefully, when we move back to Austin.

I have been taking all of my dogs to this veterinary hospital for almost 15 years. They are meticulous with our dogs exams. If you have questions they have answers and results from testing within minutes. They also do boarding.The staff is nice too! I highly recommend this veterinary hospital.

I really like this vet. At first I was unsure because it's really small and the building is really old and kind of dumpy looking, but I board my pets there a lot and the staff always write up detailed reports on how my pets did. The boarding prices are reasonable too. When my dog Huck had an injury, I saw Dr Murphree and I really liked her because she spent a lot of time with Huck on the floor just getting to know him and talking to him before she started his exam. I really liked that about her. My sister also takes her cats here, and she likes this vet a lot too. They're not the prettiest building, but they do good work!

I am so thankful for this veterinary hospital. We actually went here four years ago to get a 2nd opinion re: our Weimaraner who at the time had a disk problem in his back. We think so much of the doctors and staff here that ever since then Travis Country has been our primary Vet. Several years later, our Weim (7 years old) tore his ACL playing ball. The staff was caring and knowledgeable, but most importantly they thoroughly explained our options, the differences in them, what to expect in terms of recovery, cost, next steps, etc. The doctor shared a sample video and diagram of the surgery so we could see how it is done. By surgery day, we felt like experts ourselves. We followed all the after surgery instructions and our dog recovered 100%. A year later, his other knee tore, which isn’t uncommon and the 2nd surgery went just like the 1st. They even gave us a frequent knee customer discount on surgery 2, ha! The Weim breed is interesting; they have a nervous, anxious energy (at least mine does). Today, when our dog sees us drive up, he is both calm and excited. I can tell he feels safe and knows that everyone inside that building loves him. There are a few staff members there that he absolutely can’t get enough of, you can tell he is totally enjoying the simple check up and even getting his nails clipped! These folks are animal whisperers; my family is devoted to this dog-loving Vet. I highly recommend them.

This will be my regular vet after the experience I had there today. I took my dog here as it was simply the nearest place and he was experiencing a true, absolutely life threatening emergency. They saved my sweet Tango and worked on him with urgency and compassion. I'm very grateful Travis Country was there when I needed them!!!

We are Grateful to have found such genuine animal protectors & healers! Our dog Hank was a victim of an unprovoked dog fight,which ended badly for Hank. He was summoned to a 10 day quarantine at the pound! I scurried to find a same day safe kennel under vet supervision as an alternative to doggy jail. Every other clinic I called shut out Hank, until I reached these God send folks! The staff welcomed Hank happily & assured he will be loved on &walked during his 10 day stay. They welcomed us back for visits any time! Simply the Best & we will be coming here for care from now on!

I really liked Dr. Darren and his assistant Michelle, but I have to give a one star review for now due to the Lepto vaccine being pushed on me and stating the it wouldn’t do any harm to my dog. All of the recent reports I have read said the majority of vets do NOT recommend this and that it’s being pushed as a core when it’s not. It’s optional and even the AKC does not recommend it! So it seems to be not only an extra fee padding the bill $38, but can also be detrimental to your dog. DO NOT GET THIS VACCINE! I even asked him if Bella had received it prior would him giving the Lepto Booster hurt her at all and I was told, “Ohhh nooo not at all!” I pray you’re right!! Otherwise you will be hearing from someone. UPDATE: Thank you got your response and I will give you a call soon to discuss. There seems to be two schools of thought on this vaccine because there are some veterinarians that live in high risk areas (Dr. Robert Ford and Dr. Jean Dodds for example) and they still won’t give their own dogs this vaccine. I was very distraught as my puppy severe adverse reactions. It states that the vaccine negative affects will kick in 4-12 days after the vaccine is administered. On day 6 Bella starting throwing up and had projectile liquid diarrhea. I was taking her out every hour almost and of course it was horrible to watch your puppy go through this over days. She was also running a fever. So had I to do it over again I would not have wanted it as I believe the best defense in fighting most diseases is having a healthy immune system so putting things in that hinder that - I’m not a fan. Lesson learned on my part as I should have done my homework. I really thought it was a core. Especially when it’s stated “the Xyz says” they should have it. So to each his/her own on this subject matter.

I've been taking my 3 dogs to Travis Country Vet Hospital for 7-8 years now and nearly every experience has been great. I've had a couple of visits where the doctor or assistant seemed to have an off day but those were a long time ago. All of my recent visits have went extremely well. The staff and vets are friendly and very attentive. My regular vet goes out of her way to spend the time needed to make sure we understand completely our dogs' issues and their treatment options. Prices for office visits and medications are also very competitive. Highly recommended.

I went to Travis Country Vet because of the great reviews and it’s close proximity. But my first and only visit to this vet was not a good experience. Parking is rather bad. Staff was friendly. I really did not like that they administered a vaccination to my pup when I did not give permission for them to do so. Of course I still had to pay for it, and as a student I was on a really tight budget but wanted to make sure my pup was healthy. When I brought it to their attention they did not apologize but only said it was good for my pup. I don’t care. The office needs to respect my decision when it comes to my pup. I was in a tight budget and I don’t appreciate my pet being given an optional vaccine without my permission. I now do not trust the office. How can you take your pet to a vet you don’t trust? They sent me a letter stating that credit was added to my account, but I will not be returning. I now go to Firehouse Animal Health Center in Kyle. It is an absolutely positive experience from the very beginning all the way to the end. I love how they review the plan and payment with you before doing anything with my pup. That way we are both on the same page, which is great! I walk out with a feeling of relief rather than frustration. All in all Travis Country Vet was an ok experience for me. I just prefer to have transparency and accountability with my pup’s vet.

I was super disappointed when I went there today to refill my dog's arthritis medication and they refused to refill it until they can see him. In their defense they had warned me that they would need to see him when I refilled last time since they had last seen him in 2017. But we are about to leave the country and we would have happily made the appointment for 5 weeks out (and even paid in advance for it) if they would have bridged us with the medication. Instead they made no such offer and just told us sorry. Now I don't really have any good budget-friendly options to fix the issue before I leave the country. Makes me really sad for my 14 year old dog. Not cool at all in my opinion. The doctors I dealt with here a few years ago would have never left me hanging like this. I assume they've had changes.

Growing up we toke our pets here a couple times but unfortunately the vet that had been practicing here is no longer. Parking lot is tight and pulling in and out is not easy due cars coming off the highway. Office is out dated and needs to be seriously cleaned. Vets working at Travis Couty vet housipital are very younge and inexperienced. Our family dog died as a result of their lack of knowledge and lack of experience. He would lived with a some advice from a competent vet. If they would have referred us to any other vet he would have lived. Inexperienced vets with limited experience.

Dr. Seider is such an awesome and caring vet. My Khloe had to have some teeth removed which included being put under anesthesia. That’s very scary for the owner of a 9 year old. He called me during the surgery to let me know that some additional teeth needed to be removed and he wanted my permission prior to doing so. He also let me know that she was doing great. He called again when she woke up to keep me updated on her progress. I am so grateful to have found a vet that cares about my girl as much as I do. When I arrived to pick Khloe up, he personally explained the medications that he was sending home with me and how to handle Khloe’s recovery. It was an awesome experience!

I am very glad that I found Travis Country Veterinary Hospital. Over the last three years they have taken great care of our three dogs and our cat. All the of the Doctors are very good with our animals and I trust them. Two years ago one of the Doctors did an ACL repair on our oldest dog, we were more than a little freaked about the sedation and safety of our dog. The Doctor reassured us that she would be fine and then performed an amazing surgery. Now our 14 year old dog runs like the wind. Great job, truly you can trust your animals to everyone at Travis Country Veterinary Hospital. The Techs are awesome there and very knowledgeable. All in all a great place to go.

Sadly my furbaby didn't get to come home. Heart disease and protocol vaccines sent him into anephelatic shock and killed him. But I am here to tell you. The team at this 4legged kid doc? If they day comes that I'm able to take on another pet, open up my heart and take that dive again? THIS place is the place to go. Not to mention, the level of compassion and understanding they showed me as I held my pigbull one last time was just magnificent. Jennifer Price? The day ever comes with another emergency situation? You're the one to have right there. Completely profession with a side order of understanding and compassion. While the outcome of my Piggy's wasn't the one I was expecting. The extra loving tender care they honored my furbaby with made every single bit of the heartache a smidgen easier to take.

Best vet in town. They go above and beyond. I'll never forget when my bullmastiffs had babies (5 survived) and I took them in for first shots, worming, etc. They literally closed down for two hours just to accommodate my babies and to make sure there were no sick dogs around when I brought them in. These were 20 pound 6 week old puppies so still a log of dog. They spent time with every single one of them and thoroughly examined everyone of them (a lot of play time too, LOL). They have taken care of all my animals now for at least 15 years. Thank you Lauren!!!! And everyone else!

We are new to the area and found them to be very affordable especially in comparison to other vets in the area.
